chambo- thank you for he reply. I started Taxol last week and began having problems with itching hands this past weekend. Since it has spread up my arms. I am itchy everywhere but my arms and hands are the only victims of redness/rash so far. I went for my next treatment Wednesday ( yesterday) and my numbers were too low to receive treatment and itching is a side effect. They suggested daily Claritin and a heavy layer of aquaphor. Claritin helped and last night I used a Benadryl cream. I will return next Wednesday to recheck numbersand see if I can pick back up treatment. If numbers don't increase on their own, they will consider daily shots (possibly nupigin ?spelling) to increase numbers. Will this ride ever end? Really?
Thanks again,
Elizabeth

in your pocket today reflect!
Piper- you make a great Marilyn!!
Imani- my mo said the same. But heading into AC #4 and decreasing WBC's I'm exhausted after a big outing. Especially after the weekends that I've had traveling. Monday always ends up sleeping late, coffee in bed for an hour to check up on emails and this forum and then up and about. And sometimes a cat nap in the afternoon. If I push it too much, I feel it. And it really stinks because I'm normally a workout queen who's always on the go.
Next week I'm registering for some yoga and Pilates classes at Dana farber. I need to start getting back at exercising and if I go to my studio in town, I'll feel the need to keep up and probably fall flat on my face! I think if I start in a class with other cancer patients, it will keep me at a safe pace. I'm so happy they offer it. Also going to take a mindful meditation class;)
Question... When we are all done with chemo... Does the nausea ever go away? If I think about foods I had around chemo day, I'm nauseous and need to "think baseball". It's horrible.

Piper so glad you are doing better and a great Marilyn, You had us worried, your pocket was overflowing.
MLP3, AC had me nauseous but I took the nausea meds around the clock per my MO and that made it doable.
Eliz: no itching. Yet.
Imani: My MO told me the same thing, should not be bedridden, now if you choose to chill in bed that's different, but she said call ASAP if I could not get out of bed.
Reflect: In your pocket for your AC for sure.
I only have one Taxol left on 4/18. Never thought I'd say these words that most of my chemo is behind me. I wonder if i'll ever get my taste buds back. Nothing taste good on Taxol.
On to surgery in May, then rads. My IBC and IDC has been responding. Tumors are no longer palpable. Surgery will be the true tale, but I'll take whatever good news I can get.

I would like to get my chemo nurse a gift. She's about 27 and getting married in the fall. She has been really great and I'm so happy she landed on my case. Any suggestions

Hi Fab Febs,
Sorry I haven't posted in so long...I have been catching up on the board for the past 2 hours!
Had Taxol #7 today....5 more to go...woohoo!
Re: itchies- have one itchy elbow from hell. It is relentless. I get temporary relief from my Dead Sea lotion and hydrocortisone cream. It is BAD!
Re: Pics- all of you ladies are looking FABULOUS....(Piper, you make a very realistic looking Marilyn!)
Re: shirts- Piper- do you know how to make a paypal link? I don't, (but talk like I do,lol). Then we can all pay you?
MLP3- was thinking the same about chemo nurse and a present...but all of mine switch up...it's like a team of 5 or 6! Maybe a little treat at the end?
Hoping everyone has an SE free weekend

Hello. Had #8 today. It went well. I had several itchy parts while there. A random arm, face, leg etc... Strange but it stopped after I was done. I haven't shed that much hair but my MO said it could still happen. I'm good either way.
Hope you all feel better and have a good week.❤

Ok.....am I the ONLY one in this group that if I leave my house for ANYTHING.....the store...to go eat dinner with a friend...that I am on thermometer watch because EVERY time my temp starts to creep up! I am REALLY getting pissed now. 😠 What is the cutoff temp for everyone? I was told 100.4. Anyone?!?

thanks Val and Liz. Nice to hear from you Nola! T shirts...my order came to over $1,100.00 wowza! That was for 50, 5 long sleeved and names on arms and USD funds so I'm sure ours won't be as much. If I get them delivered to one of you in the U.S. Maybe? Give me time about PayPal or bank e-transfer is easier for me

Suzted I am having the same issue with blood pressure. I've always had perfect pressure. Since they've had to take it on my calf due to left mastectomy and lymph nodes removed and right has picc line. It is at stroke point. So... MO called and once soon wants it taken on my arm. Also, my gastroscope has to wait two weeks post chemo which is ending June 2. Then rads. Long, hot summer. I don't want Tamoxifen.

Thanks for all of you filling my pocket today. #3 went without issues, I am drinking tons and keeping track, took compazine tonight even though I don 't feel nauseous, determined to do everything I can do to avoid repeat of #2. Nurse said sometimes 3 goes like 1, sometimes like 2, and 4 will follow suit. She was totally cagey about Taxol, no help at all!
Social worker stopped in, and so did a priest. Another time a different flavor religious person stopped in. I don't know what to do with this. I guess if I wanted to have talk about religious/spiritual matters I could ask for that? SW worker offered lots of things: support group (but I have you!) reiki, massage, writing groups. Many are during the day so I can't do them (at least while I am working which I need to do as much as possible) but I certainly accepted a gift cert for a massage, lol.
I am IN for a T-shirt. I like Fab Feb Fighters or long form, and names on back, that will mean a lot to me. Screen and real names OK by me. (maybe one larger than the other, or a different font?) It doesn't have to be pink does it? I'm on a rant about pink. It's not the color to talk back to cancer, it's the color to ask nicely for a raise. Red or Black or Purple.... But that's my 2 cents and I'll get it whatever color it is
Suzted, why does your temp rise when you leave the house? Have you asked MO or researched? Do our temps rise with activity? My cut off is the same, 100.4.
Valstim, so happy for you that you are nearly done with this leg of the marathon. I will also head to surgery, and possibly rads, but none of that starts until September I think. My tumors were never palpable, so I won't know if chemo has done anything until after surgery.
Nolagirl and Deaconlady, you are both getting so close to finished!
MLP, I've had 3 different nurses, but mostly one. Something thoughtful and thankful. I know as a teacher, the cards I get from students who tell me how I have helped them are really important to me. It reminds me why I do this job. I'll have to think about gifts, waiting to hear good ideas.
Imani, and all of you, hope your SEs are nonexistent or wonderfully under control.
Piper you are really an amazing Marilyn. We are all going to have a blast in NOLA.
I am so chatty on steroids.
(((hugs))) to all.

Here I sit at the ER. I hit the magic temp. Got here...temp was gone....because 30 mins. before...I took Motrin for a headache. They've taken blood and done a chest xray. What else could they possibly do?? I am sooooo frustrated!!!

Finally! Some good news! My genetics tests all came back negative! Now I just have to survive the rest of chemo, a little surgery, rads and more chemo. I can do this!
Trying to catch up since I got home from the hospital. Suzted, sorry it's your turn at the ER!
Sounds like everybody else is doing pretty well. So glad to hear!
I'm in for a Tee. Whatever you all decide is fine with me.
And I forget who asked but no, the nausea never seems to end. It just varies in degrees. I'm either mildly disgusted by food or completely disgusted. I think I'm getting used to everything tasting sour at this point.
Happy Weekend you Fabulous Febs. We're getting there!

That's great news Myra. How come you have a second round of chemo after the surgery and rads, I've not heard of that before - is it different drugs or another lot of the same? How many rounds? Good to have a plan anyway.
I definitely want a T-shirt please, and agree with reflect, any colour except pink is good for me. Definitely want everyone's names/screen names on back that will be so lovely!
Suzted sorry to hear about your temp issues. I have the exact same thing. Raised temperature as soon as I do anything, but nothing wrong with me. Have taken to sitting in the garden most of the time to cool me down. V frustrating, but after that comment about sepsis I'm not taking any chances. I'm lucky to live 5 mins away from the hospital. Could this be a SE? I had Docetaxl on Friday 1st April and the temp thing started on the Tuesday evening and has stayed until today (Friday morning). How about you?Anyone else have this?
Hugs to you all.xx

Steroids and early morning posting is the theme today.
I confirmed with my MO about the fever episodes I have experienced. She wanted me to monitor the fever and see how I feel physically for three hours without taking any meds to reduce the fever. I have gotten to 100.2 drank fluids and in the next hour experienced a drop with no explanation. My advice is to see how you feel with the fever. If you are lethargic or feel dehydrated get to the ER. Sometimes its a wasted trip if you are in Nadir and your WBCs are dipping .
Good luck this weekend with SEs. I have my Netflix queue loaded in case #3 is like #2 and I spend my days napping and lounging.
I am all for the tee shirts as well.
Imani aka Ebony in my real life..or is this real life? Some days it feels like a dream.

oh Suzted I'm sorry. Myra great news! reflect , still on that pocket whenever you need. I decided to take one dexa this morn. My MO told me if the Diarreah that ended me in hospital (which started yesterday) I can take imodium. First round a no no. I'm worried about my my esophogus. I know there there is a thread about Tamox but I've become so close to you all I can discuss my spooked attitude about it. Down right spoiled actually
Scotbird! I'm thinking of you so my Scot in blood but abroad. Murdock make it out of the round robin to remain in men's world curling? My Liz I will pm you. My Marilyn hair was always my own with a stylist except that pic. Here I show you one on pink for breast cancer. Trying to cheer you all!!!
Love xx

okay Ebony. I would ask a few weeks and tag team a PM team for names , sizes, addresses, design approval and such for t shirts. I didn't take my steroid yesterday but one today and I hear you 100% on everything else!
Okay beauty, I'm going to get back to doing my taxes... Lol xx

one week after my third FEC this are my SE:
Low back pain, from Neulasta shot
Very tired, it takes longer to recover, after chemo 1 and 2 I was back to normal after 4 or 5 days
Vaginal infection.
No diarrea this time
Head, ears pressure, it lasted for 3 days
I had my port surgery one day before chemo, my veins could not take it anymore, maybe thats why this one is harder than the others

Piper, count me in for the shirt too. I like anything but pink.
Suzted, sorry about ER
Fevers, this time I spiked a little when I went to the store. Odd. Came home, put my feet up, drank even more fluid and it went down.
Here is hoping for a SE free weekend for all, or at least mild.

Marilyn (Piper) Your killin me -I love the pics.
Myra - that is Fantastic! I have my tests next month.
Suzted - I am so sorry that you are having this trouble. I have hot flashes all the time, but never a fever. Apparently I am thrown into early menopause. YEAH ME!!
Reflect - I would not know how to take a priest coming to see me. but I have had the social workers come in while I was getting my treatments.
My eye sight is getting really bad where I cant really see the computer. really hope that this goes back to normal. kinda hard to work.
Nola - good to hear from you!
So yesterday I went to get a wig - this time around was a very pleasant experience. what do you all think? While it is nice, it may be hard to get used to. I will wear it to see clients. ( I am no Marilyn Monroe)

Francesj19
It's gorgeaus. I can't tell it's a wig I know it feels uncomfortable, but it looks great
0 -
Frances-absolutely love the wig! Looks great on you!
Piper- definitely would love a shirt, just my name on the back is good. The screen name I use on here was just a quick one I didn't put too much thought into! I'm not a really pink person either, but will go with the flow! Love your pictures too!
Saw my MO today. He is just fantastic. He did tell me to think of starting my first chemo this week since I am changing now to Taxotere and Hercepton. He said he adjusted my Taxotere down a little, perhaps because of all the issues with coughing, mucus, eye watering, etc. He did say the first 3 days I would be full of energy and not know what to do with myself as the steroids are tripled. After that he said I will be much more tired than I was on the last 3. Good to know the Hercepton has no effect on the blood cells so after rads I can return to work. Being in retail I have to be so careful as I am always interacting with customers. I am anxious to return, I love my job. I also had a second syma scan of my heart. First one was only 53% which I was not too happy about. Thus one was 58 % so I feel a little better. Once chemo is done will get to a sleep lab and get a new machine for my apnea.
All ready for Monday. I think chemo is at least 4 hours the first time, then I get the ultrasound on my neck to find out why it is still swollen from the port insertion. Hope everyone can enjoy their weekends. I can't wait for warmer weather to be able to enjoy outside more!
Xo Karen

frances- that's adorable!
Myra- congrats!!!
That's so weird about the fevers! I've been getting the worst hot flashes that feel like fevers. Maybe I should take my temp...? My magic number is 100.5 to head to the ER.
Piper- in in for a shirt! Maybe navy or dark grey..,? How are you feeling today?
I've had the same nurse for all of my chemo treatments. She's awesome! I want to get her something more than a gift card. What about a Lily Pulitzer tumbler with a gift card inside...? It's a big plastic double insulated cup with a plastic straw. They come in adorable prints and she could use it at work...? And then put a Nordstrom's or lululemon card inside?
0 -
I would be down for a shirt!!! Will you have plus sizes? I want to do something for my nurses, too. There are 4 or 5 of them. I was thinking after I was done with Taxol I would do something, but now I'm thinking after the Herceptin is done. I was thinking donuts and coffee?
0 -
Frances you look amazing! It doesn't look wiggy at all. Really, really nice.
My wig has "bangs" or otherwise you could see the hairline that doesn't look right. It's also riding up the back of my neck. I wonder if it's too tight or not tight enough? Anyone else have this?
No SE troubles for all today!
0 -
MLP3 - Do you know her full name? See if she's registered anywhere. I'm waiting for my nephew to complete their wedding registry.
reflect - Hope you and everyone having a treatment this week recover quickly. I go on Monday. Hoping for no more delays.
0 -
Fran it's gorgeous! You look gorgeous!
Hi Deaconlady Val et al. I have read all the posts. Sorry about all SEs.
Val I can make your pink ribbon white in the word Fab. Again, I need a while. My chemo goes until June 2 and I have a couple of events up to May 13, then my radiation schedule, gastroscope and recheck of right breast for IBC. I would say last week of May to start.
My husband bought me a Cammo hat today for my Barbie's Army relay for life captaincy.
Piper

Love the hat piper!
0 -
Frances- love the hair! You look great! So good to know you are feeling better.
Piper- loving the hat! Do you want me to search for a place that maybe we could place our t-shirt order and then individually pay and have it shipped direct to all of us? I don't know if that exists, but I am an avid researcher!
Suzted- I have been sick before where everytime I decided to move, I would start again with fever. I think it's just our systems trying to get over low blood cell counts and regulate itself. I hope it regulates soon for you!
MLP- I'm liking the tumbler idea! All of the nurses seem to be drinking out of one at my infusion center. I think the Lily Pulitzer would be pretty 💐
Happy Saturday to all of the Fab Febs!! 💕
0 -
hi everybody! 12 days past my last infusion, feeling almost normal and looking forward to the weekend. My mother-in-law is babysitting tonight so my husband and I can go out!
I only have one more chemo left, I have to say I am getting more scared not less. Next comes the radiation, everybody says how easy it is, but I am really scared. The thought of having to go to the hospital every day is such a pain, and I'm very worried about bad burns.
I will probably skip the T-shirt, firstly because I'm not actually aFebruary start I'm January. I came here at the beginning of February to give you guys some encouragement since I was a month in, and never left! I do think it's a great idea though and I'm excited for you guys!
