Piper - Glad to read you're able to get out and about. I wouldn't go into a hot tub, but I have taken a warm bath with lots of salt in a freshly cleaned tub.

    MLP3 - Beautiful labs!

Imani - you're very talented! When I looked into ordering hair extensions, I ended up finding a halo hairpiece instead. I'm very lazy!

    Blamons - congrats!

Reflect - Thanks! My daughter came home soon after and we ended up chatting. I was so tired yesterday! I slept on my port side last night and woke up with soreness in the area of the catheter near my neck. Yuck!

Hi all, I am so tired, and only 2 AC down, 2 to go plus 12 T. I bounced back after #1 but I haven't this time at all. I may have caught a cold from from my daughter. I've done almost nothing today and yesterday and can't imagine driving to work Monday never mind actually working. All my energy just to put a load of laundry in. Is this normal? Did anyone have a hard #2, and an easier #3?

    reflect, there is hope

I had a horrible #1 AC, was hospitalized for 6 days. #2, I was so tired and doing anything was a huge effort until about 7 days after the infusion.

    # 3 and 4 were really so much better and manageable' I could not believe I was on the same drugs . The effect is accumulative, but I think our bodies learn how to adjust.

I have to say, dose dense Taxol kicks my butt the first week, but by the 2nd week I'm human. So hang in there it gets better. At least from my experience and before you know it you will be done.

Thanks for the hope Valstim! I have #3 in 5 days, and I will certainly hope (and work) for better results. I'll be doing the Taxol weekly, so not dense dose I guess.

Yes blamoms on the runny nose front. My nose is also ice cold. all the time. my nose is also the only neuropathy pain i get during infusion. I'm starting to get moments of warmth. not hot yet. flushed cheeks. have not had a fever once, not even during my recent bout in hospital.

Val - hello there. hope all is well (is the IBC thread deleted?)

reflect - pocket time again soon for both eh? you # 3, me # 4 AC next Tuesday. still need support for ibc unfortunately. yes, clear now. there is just this nagging issue with MRI.MO must check again in three months for several things. as i said before, nothing invasive can be done regardless until all treatment complete in several months.

thank you Deaconlady - she is just a superstar!

I will do my best to keep better track to respond. have been in a whirlwind state lately and dealing with loss yet again. I do read though. promise.

    Love and Light,

    Piper

reflect- I was the exact same after AC #2. Just down n out tired and nauseous. AC #3 has been much better.

Sheri/ very frequent and urgent bathrooms trips for me as well. And I have a bladder sling!

Busy, busy weekend but I'm holding up! 2 college lacrosse games, tailgates and dinners. Now I'm heading to NH from NY to catch up with my other two kids. Then off to Maine tomorrow am for the revisit day for my son at his new school acceptance. I think I'll be a wee bit tired tomorrow;)

6 days past tax 2... Really starting to feel normal again. Hung out with friends yesterday and it was OK, however I did have to take some breaks to chill on the couch. Much better than tax 1 was!

Hey Piper, here is the new IBC thread. I guess the lady that started the other one, left and deleted it.

IBC lounge: roll call, support and just a good place to hang out

I didnt know any other way to put it in, sorry.

Piper, IBC is sneaky, it's often overlooked, and it does NOT go away. But since you are already on the protocol of treatment and they are not sure, then they are probably doing the wait and see, which is all anyone can do really once you are in tx.

There is not really a way to rule it out, unless you have a punch biopsy of the skin and it comes back positive. They can sometimes do a skin biopsy and that piece is not cancerous. So much to do and worry with. The new thread is helpful because you get the beginning of a lot of folks stories and how they came to the diagnosis.

MLP3 sounds like fun. You will be tired, but as the 'old' folks used to say, a good tired.

    Hi all, happy Sunday.

Coming out of the fog from 3rd TC - a lot more tired this time. Slept most the week away and when I wasn't sleeping I was a step or two off of my normal alert self. What day is this again? lol. Yeah, that kind of unawareness...and on that note, I did our taxes yesterday...bahahahahahaha. The way I figured it, we are getting a refund. Go ahead, come after me...chemo brain is a good audit defense, isn't it?

I'm not even going to try to work for #4 - I've already scheduled the week off - I've got the leave time, and it's my last one. Not even going to pretend that I will go to work and then go home to hours later. Nope, done with that. Just going to stay home, relax in the spring sunshine, and recoup.

Reflect - yes I have taken Diflucan for Thrush - miracle drug :-)

Hot tubs - not even putting water in mine until chemo is over...tooooooo tempting. I do take a bath though to ease the Neulasta aches - my bath tub is squeaky clean and the water is too - I don't worry about that.

Pedicures - MO said avoid their tools, their tubs, etc. Even polish changes can be risky because the brush goes from toe to toe. If you bring your own polish and just ask them to do the polish change for you, that's probably okay. I'm planning a pedicure three weeks to the day from my last tx...lol. :-)

thank you Val. My punch biopsy was clear, however, it's early. My MRI and still changes to skin, are making them check again in a few months. There is swelling of lymph node and area. I've been made aware and read all of the tricky stuff that goes along with lBC. I'm relieved yet still worried. I'm the same with my ILC and mets. I'm certainly not alone in that.

Chambo - absolutely. My other pedicure scenario is mobile. Brings her own bowl with clean, unused plastic bag for water fill, disposable everything. I will get that next time. I let the salon paint my toe nails but how right you are! I used their shellac dark royal blue. One big toe tip just wouldn't adhere due to crack. They couldn't use tools so I must take care of it.

I didn't go in hot tub. No matter how clean my tub is, I even worry about that, especially with my last hospital stay.

    Enjoy your Sunday evening ladies.

Oh, I haven't forgotten the tshirts. Is the consensus Fab February Fighters? fab Febs? Fabulous Febs? Long forms of word? Names on back scattered?

I am just getting my Relay for Life tshirts made first and need to get through most of chemo first

My teams shirts are going to say Barbie's Army with the a as the pink ribbon symbol. Half curved top then underneath with the arm fighting emoji in middle with "for all survivors and fighters" on the back

Piper- so glad you are feeling better 💐 I am good with Fab Febs or Fab Feb Fighters. I love the names scattered on the back :-).

Feeling sluggish and blah this evening. Just don't feel like doing much of anything.

*TMI alert* - Has anyone encounterd a sore in their nostril? Every morning I wake up with dried blood in my nose 😞 But a few days ago, the outside of my nose became sore and I realized that it is a sore on the inside. Just wondering if it's worth a trip to GP or Urgent Care to test for strep?

Oh my New Orleans Mardi Gras Queen. The nose...yes. My only neuropathy during treatment is my nose. Afterward, the goop is always hardening to the point of pain. It does get drippy too. Last cycle it was bloody. That hurt my throat and esophagus too. The blood coming in the middle of the night shocked me and hub ; coincidentally set off my rough time. My MO said it gets dry, yet watch it. I'd mention it if getting bad Nola.i have a thumb that won't heal ever since I had to take the nail off the side. It goes bloody, scab, air, poly, bandaid repeat. It's been a month! In the grand scheme it's nothing but it's bothersome. Every time something remotely touches it, there is burning pain.

Wishing all well this new week! Xo

Hi Ladies, I don't post a ton but I always am reading away and praying for all of you! What an amazing group of ladies we have here!

I am gearing up for round 4 of 6 TCHP. Overall my biggest side effect has been fatigue, last round was actually surprisingly easy to get through, keeping my fingers crossed that continues! Although the fatigue sucks the worst part is from about day 8-10 when my tastebuds die and I can't taste a darn thing and I have an AWFUL taste in my mouth! grrrr.... I keep reading about gargaling with baking soda and water, is that just for mouth sores? Anyone have luck with chewing on ice or eating a ice pop during the Taxatore infusion? Last time I tried the ice trick but the benadryl made me so sleeping I feel asleep half way through.....

Yesterday was the first time I have had a little bit of anxiety about my upcoming treatment but I just keep telling myself that after this round only 2 left....

I launched my blog recently so please feel free to follow along: www.mypinklife.org

For those with the dry mouth/terrible taste I have found that the Therabreath mints really help this. I also use their toothpaste. I was fortunate to have been given a wonderful package from my sis in law and a box of the mints were in there. I never would have thought of them otherwise.

I am on my good week before Taxotere/Hercepton next Monday. I find i have a terrible cough, watery eyes (have been told it's because they are dry) and lots of mucus throughout all of this treatment. It may even go away for a few days but always returns.

LTF glad this one has been easier. I am going to prepare for the worse and hope for the best with the new treatment. So far, this has all been much easier than I anticipated. Not pleasant at all but much easier. Not looking forward to the huge increase in steroids but even if the last 3 are harder, it's easier than expected!

Thinking of you all. Lots of snow and cold here today! Can't wait to be able to sit out in the fresh spring air

    Hey, Fab Febs!

Piper - I'm with Nolagirl on the shirt. Thanks! Sorry about your nail. Those pains are still annoying even though they seem small compared to what you've been through.

Nolagirl - No idea about your nose. Have you checked with your MO?

Mypinklife - I have a jar of baking soda, sea salt, and peppermint oil. Mix with water as needed for gargling and keeps mouth sores/bad tastes away. I haven't had any taste problems at all with my 2nd treatment. I'm on AC and chewed on ice.

I have different family members who live in Florida and have been invited to 2 places once treatment is complete. How long after treatment should I wait? I'll have chemo and radiation. Surgery is already done, but I will have reconstruction at some point. Maybe I'll take them both up on their offer. My MIL will probably take better care of me, but my brother will want me to visit him, too.

I thought I was doing great this round...just the usual nausea and fatigue. Day 10, the heart palms started and couldn't get out of bed. Yesterday morning it got so bad I couldn't sit up without passing out to the ER.

Dehydration, possible infection and the big D. So lots of fluids, antibiotics, anti nausea drugs... The general drill. Hoping alls clear tomorrow so I can go home!

Gonna read and catch up. Hope you're all well

    Fab Febs;

Happy Anniversary Myra and hub <3

I am so sorry you are in hospital. I am in your pocket and willing you to get better.

It's red devil Tuesday for me. I'm more anxious this 4th and final AC cycle. I still have remnants of my viral infection hanging on. I am armed with Emend and a some extras for nausea. It's not that end I'm worried about as much. ;) I also have to watch my nose again this time.

For mouth, my MO prescribed Nystatin swish and swallow and it really works a treat.

Thinking of all of you and Tuesday ladies.

I'm in your pocket, never got out there were so many in there lol.

Drink drink drink. That really helped me on red devil. Popsicle's during the push helped the mouth sores. And then more drinking. Take your nausea meds around the clock. Don't stop.

Myraknits please get better, in your pocket too. Keep us posted. And happy anniversary.

LovesToFly: did you post your eyebrow tuturorial on this thread. It is awesom.

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA. Round 3 of AC was awful. Had #4 this last Friday and it's been much better thankfully. Kids are on spring break and in laws are here to help.

Can anyone tell me what their Taxol days are like??? I am having to change the day I get my treatments and worried it will affect the kids activities. I will have to go Monday's and then after Memorial wknd change to Tuesday. They didn't have Friday mornings available :( for the next round. And since we don't have family here I'm limited.
