Okay ladies - for those of you who asked, here's Snickers!! She's mostly Maine Coon so she's pretty well-built!
Thanks so much to SpecialK for such a delicious lunch this afternoon! It was great seeing you all again and I hope we can get together soon again.
Mexico - lots of prayers for a speedy recovery from your surgery on Monday. I know you will be just fine.
Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas to you all, my special sisters,
Snickersmom/Ann

I am so glad to have seen all of you lovely ladies, and I hope all had a good time and plenty to eat! Thanks to Bella2013 for making the drive from the north (and snickersmom for the intercept!), what a treat to meet you!

SpecialK, thank you for opening you home to us and thank you to all Tampa BCO Sisters for allowing a “foreigner” from Jacksonville crash your luncheon. Special K your home is beautiful and you have such a gift of hosting a party. The food was fabulous!
It was wonderful to meet each one of you in person and put names and faces together. MexicoHeather, thinking of you today.
Thank you to my new best friend, Snickersmom! Thank you for the intercept! It made the one day trip doable. Loved getting to know you!
May you all have a very special Christmas!

MexicoHeather - been thinking about you all day today and hope you are home feeling okay. Let us know as soon as you are able.
Yes, that get-together was great. SpecialK - you sure do know how to entertain us!
Bella - I'm so glad you came down! It was great getting to know you on the ride back and forth to Tampa and it sure didn't feel like a long trip at all. Any time you want to come down - just say the word. I'd love to get together with you again.
Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas!

Hi. The breast reduction surgery was out-patient and I recovered quickly. So I am the perfect 34A on the left and flat on the right. The scars still need to lighten up, but I am Ms. Perky now.

Mexicoheather - I had been thinking about you and wondering how you were getting on - glad you stopped in to report - and also glad things went well and you are perky! Yay

Mexico - Been waiting to hear how your surgery went, and I'm so glad you sailed through it and are feeling perky!!
See you at the next TB get-together!

Hey all! What do we think about an upcoming get together? I need some available dates from folks so we can plan. How do you all feel about a Sunday afternoon so we can include those for whom Saturday is problematic?
0 -
Sounds great, a Sunday would be awesome:)
I don’t have any specific dates that wouldn’t work.

The next few weeks are pretty crazy for me, but I could do 3/31, 4/14, or 4/28 (the april dates are palm sunday & orthodox easter.....not sure if that would be a problem for anyone) if doing Sunday or 3/30, 4/20, or 4/27 on Saturday. Hope it works to get together!

I would love to be able to join you again but we are only here until 4/3. Any day until then is fine. But please don’t plan your dates for me since I’m not a regular.

3/17, 3/31 are out, but all other Sundays or Saturdays will work. Hi😊🐎

How soon are you thinking of getting together? I could do March 23rd but then I can't do anything until the beginning of April. Most weekends in April are free - both days - until the end of the month. I prefer Saturday but would do Sunday. I'll ask Barb if she's coming down from Jacksonville.
Thanks!

Hi Everyone. I'm in Key West at a little pink.org retreat for a week as a volunteer. My son's with me. Sorry for the strikehrough. Ten families with BC are here with us.0 -
I’ll be in the Keys next month with my family, can’t wait:)

I'm back from Key West. One of the retreat participants lives in the Tampa area and her husband is working at MacDill. 😀 I will reach out to her for our next get-together. The vity was super-hot, but everyone was a good sport and we had fun.

At my last oncologist visit my one of my tumor markers had gone up to 41. He took another draw that day at it went down to 38. I asked for a bone scan since I've never had one. I have decided to go back to my oncologist in Tampa. They are suggesting an MRI. Ugh

Hi! Haven’t been on this site for many months, but am now looking at my favorite topics. Lunch out is always a favorite! Ha! Anyway, I am in Deland and would like to meet up one day.
Also, a question not related to lunch, but maybe one of you know...I was getting Arimidex from the manufacturer direct. They have raised prices but my Medicare RX can get a generic for a WHOLE lot less than non generic...the real stuff. So, is there a difference? I have had no problems in 4 years and am a little afraid to go generic. I think there are different manufacturers of the generic too. How do you know which one to get....if I do that?
Thanks....to anyone who might know!

kira - sorry to hear that your markers have risen, I know it is worrisome. I have had two instances of above normal markers - right after chemo mine was double the high end of the range and took about 3-4 months to come down into the normal range. In 2016 I also had a reading in the 40's over a couple of tests. Turned out I had a large (3cm) suture granuloma right where my tumor had been, along with several different types of dysphasia/inflammatory process and that drove my numbers higher. Removing all of that surgically solved the problem and my markers returned to normal. That said, I tend to stay fairly close to the top end of the range. Let me know when you come up to Tampa to see Dr W.
mysunshine - we are overdue for a lunch! As far as generic vs name brand there is no specific manufacturer that promised less/no side effects, but it is generally thought that the fewer fillers and additives the better. Some have had good success with Teva. Often you have to experiment with different manufacturers and just find the one that works for you. There are a couple of Arimidex threads and much discussion of brands. You also have the option of switching to another drug - Femara (letrozole) or Aromasin (exemestane) in the search for the right fit

Thank you! I think I will just stay with Arimidex from the manufacturer. No fillers and extra ingredients. Don’t mess with what works!
Yes, there is another thread about people in the Orlando area. Wondering if the two can be combined. They may not know about this thread. ???
Anyway, maybe a lunch in or around Orlando one day.

thanks specialk. I have the results from my bone scan. Basically I'm suffering from degenerative scoliosis of the spine. I'll have my bone density test in October. No site of anything else at this time. My next blood draw is next week. When I come to Tampa I'll be sure to let you know.

I'm headed over to Moffitt tomorrow for a massage in the Alternative Care Dept. My shoulder and the scar are feeling a little tight, but 97% better than before the PT last year. I'm looking forward to it.
My son moved onto the USF campus last month. Hopefully he'll indulge me in a short visit.😀💜
