glennie - Sweetness is their secret weapon. I'm a sucker for it. ;)

    GG - Me too!

This position really helps to calm my sciatic pain. It also creates a space between my legs that my dog likes to occupy. Once she was settled, I covered her with a blanket. It was hard to get out of the position because she wouldn't move.

Thanks for those videos Serenity! Carpool Karaoke made me remember my college theatre days...late nights singing show tunes...Good times. I need some of that!

reflect - I've always wished to be able to sing, but I'm horrible. Still I grew up loving musicals. Here is one of my favorites...

Me too! My music teacher in elementary school made me stand in the back with boys and mouth the words at the Christmas concert. My husband, son and daughter are all very musical, and wonderful singers. I need a tambourine, lol.

Hey, at least you got to pretend to sing! My music teacher had us sing one by one to assign us a part in the school pageant. I was a flag bearer!

By the way, I almost dropped the flag when I waved to a friend. Lucky I didn't poke someone's eye out. From what I remember, the pole was really long. I was even shorter than I am now, so physics! Loopy

    Here's my favorite new singer.

Still loving the thin slices Serenity. I'm starting to remember to do it too. I've had quite a fun week: on Wednesday I went to the theatre in London with my best friend Alex. We had a great laugh. I also had a really nice dinner on Thursday at a posh restaurant with my work colleagues. Now I'm back home and my dog was sooo happy to see me back after 4 days away. Love her so much. My hip pain is improving all the time too. I didn't need any painkillers today at all! X

Nice, Scotbird! So glad you are having some fun!

Serenity, I carried the flag for the band, lol, I was barely 5 feet tall. I get it! Of course I wanted to twirl baton.....but I was told it was a great honor to carry the flag....

Scotbird - Yay for days with no pain killers! Theatre and dinner out are great fun. There's nothing like a welcome home from dogs. I'm so glad your hip pain is getting better!

    reflect - I'm just under 5' now. I think I've shrunk a little. Bawling

I've made plans to go downtown tomorrow with a friend and our daughters. Should be fun!

Went downtown with my friend and our daughters. ThumbsUp

Caught someone who slipped next to me without pain. ThumbsUp

A couple of hours in the damp, freezing cold is not too bad when followed by hot drinks. ThumbsUp

    Cuddling with pup now. ThumbsUp

I came across this post a few days ago and had fun reading it all. I pay attention to these kinds of moments called slices of joy and love when I happen upon them.

A slice of joy for me: Several years ago, a stray cat adopted us. Dh named her Lucy. She's an outdoor cat; smart, sweet and petite. This winter she started coming in the house in the evening to sleep and curls up at the foot of our bed all night. It is the best feeling and I get a kick out of how she makes herself at home inside.

Divine - Aw, the cat adopted you!

GG - Glad you were able to participate!

My older daughter remembers the time she and her sister ran crying to their dad when he came home from work. Through tears they wailed, "Mommy broke our toy!"

He looked at me saying, "What did you do?"

I sighed. "I broke down the box their toy came in."

We laughed about it today since we need to break down a few boxes.

Will make triple chocolate cheesecake for older daughter's birthday in a couple of days. Set out cream cheese, butter, and eggs to come to room temp. Mmmm.

Love the graffiti corrections. As an English teacher....sometimes I shudder. Although English can be very creative, as in the recently coined "alternative facts" (meaning LIES)

I made meringues for the first time yesterday (for my birthday!) They came out almost OK!

GG - Yay for luxurious baths! My husband makes mulligatawny once in the winter. It's so good.

reflect - Happy Birthday! I've made meringues once before years ago. Must not have been special, but there's a pastry shop that makes delicious meringues. I have some egg whites from yesterday. I may try making a Pavlova because I have lots of lemon curd.

Alternative fact: I made this salad for later. It's my first time making a triple chocolate salad. The next one should look better.

Haven't tried it yet! We had dinner. Then my husband and teen daughter went to judo. They won't be home for another 1 1/2 hours. No joy!
