You are such inspirations! I did walk today, also feed horses and watered plants. Doesn't sound like much, but after yesterday much improved.

I find dealing with nausea worse than pain. Weird, I know. Nausea just flattens me. Going to try to ride my horse tomorrow, wish me luck!

Big~ don't they give you Reglan? For nausea? It worked for me through the heaviest chemo treatments. I hope you can find something to help you. I was going to rest today but ended up running a half an hour and it felt great! Each day seems to get a little easier. I'm sending happy thoughts and prayers to all. ~M~

imageThanks for the 5k well wishes ladies.

On my walk though the neighborhood this morning I saw a huge great blue heron, had to be at least 4ft tall and the first time I've seen one down in the little turtle pond. What a start to the day, it was amazing!

Mae -What a lovely neighborhood. Thank you for the pictures! Run like the wind! Or just finish. Whatever works.

imagealso taking a break today! My body told me iwas tired when I woke up so I'm listening loud and clear. Napped, and DH is cooking a lovely dinner tonight. Gonna watch some movies and cuddle! Didn't want to run today anyway. We had a coyote sighting in our neighborhood yesterday and there are warnings out today on the poles. It was spotted where i run down by the pond with the turtles I've come to know. Which is behind our back yard It looks like a big one. DSspotted it in our back yard last afternoon/evening here he is! Quite freaky. Have a safe day ladies. ~M~ P.s. The line you see is our dogs tie out!! I would be so devastated had it gotten one of our dogs. Although our dogs are big still wow

Wow Mel! Scary with dogs. Keep safe! Feel better z. I'm feeling better today thanks to zofran and I got my "natural" hair color restored and did 20 minutes of walking so far today.

Micmel, lthat is a large coyote. We have them around here too, but much smaller. What a nIce coat! This guy looks healthy. Keep your doggies safe, enjoy your night in, and be well.

Coyotes are common where I live and cause no issues. It's the mountain lions, big as St Bernards, that pick off the dogs and keep me indoors.

Good job doing what you need to do ladies. Considering a short walk along the rio grande ...

    Micmel,

Wow that is a beautiful coyote, sorry about your dog though. We lost one of our cats to a coyote a few years back.. It was beautiful here is SW Washington yesterday and was able to get 14K steps in yesterday my best day yet! Bowled two games today with my daughters and got a little arm and back exercise..

Z, glad to hear the Hot Yoga is working for you.

Lot of activity here! That's great to see.

Llmae, I wish I had as much wildlife on my walks as you get on yours! Such is life in the city. We have some nice green spaces, but it's a bit longer to get to from my house. We do have a little lake by our house that has lots of waterfowl right now, so I guess I do have some animals around. Enjoy the 5K on Sunday!

Micmel - that's a beautiful coyote, but maybe I don't mind living in the city if it means I don't have to worry about coyotes!

Z- glad the hot yoga is working for you! I have thought about adding a few sessions in just to sweat out some toxins from my scans.

I had a PET scan on Friday so had to take it easy on Thursday before the scan. I only met my step goal four days this week, though i still tried to do a little yoga each day. I had a little curveball thrown in this week to my exercise plans as my son had to have emergency surgery for a testicular torsion. Ouch! It's so awful to see your child in pain! He's doing just fine now (though he's walking a little like the tin man from Wizard of Oz) but it was a scary experience!

Hoping this next week will be a little more normal!

Did 2 miles worth of Leslie Sansone with a couple of extra 5 min sessions. 45ins total. I even jogged in place on the interval walking vid. Love it

    Everyone is doing great!

Mara - You are Da Bomb. I am so happy to see you 100% back in the game. Thanks for the update.

DGHoff - thanks for reminding me not to exercise before my PET scan next Thursday. Forgot about that. Hope your scans are unambiguously dull.

For those of you who are not aware, exercise can interfere with scan results. I can't remember all the rules, I'll have to look them up again. But I know we have to take it easy the day before scans.

I walked around the field during my daughters soccer practice today to get to my step goal, but otherwise took it easy. Trying to get this hip 100% solid before I do anything too intense. Hot yoga tomorrow. Can't get enough sweating. It's a good idea to get a class in after the PET scan thursday. The stuff they give you is terrible.

Back from our spring break where I got lots of hiking and biking and nordic walking. It is just great to be able to spend more time outdoors than indoors and have great restaurants to boot. On our way home though we saw traffic in the opposite direction which was about 50 kms long. Unbelievable. I will never complain about traffic in Zurich again.

Great to see everyone moving. My tip to prevent injuries is to get any specific muscles you intend to move warmed up first. I learned this the hard way as well as at a fitness course for seniors. An overall warmup is not enough. Of course any warmup is better than none but still presents some risk to estrogen deprived muscles and joints.Β

As far as detoxing, I found a high intensity interval training routine in a steam-filled bathroom did the trick as far as producing buckets of sweat (jumping jacks, speed runs in place, high legs, push ups, etc.) The best was I could take an immediate shower to wash off the sweat before the toxins dried on my skin. Somewhat obsessive, I know.

Post scans, eating fish is detoxifying, too. The rawer the better. Yes, a good excuse to have sushi or sashimi. The selenium in fish is beneficial for this purpose.

Good luck on the 5K, Illimae.

Heidi - welcome back to civilization. Thanks for all the detox tips. I am moving towards obsessive in the detox department myself. I have to figure out how to keep these estrogen deprived muscles in the game ... so warm up each muscle.

Missed hot yoga this morning ... 9am class was too early for a Sunday!. Need another plan.

So, I think I had one too many Raspberry Hefeweizen's at an event last night and some lovely GI side effects starting at 4am but I still got up, out and walked the 5k. I came in 2nd to last and had fun doing it!

Micmel, I just watched the video of the song you mentioned, "I Like to Move it, Move it" from Madagascar, and I think this should be our theme song on this thread. It's so funny and energizing, and I'm imagining that all those animals are us! I am the zebra with the bandaid on her rump, lol. (ShetlandPony on Faslodex.)

Yes, DGHoff, I didn't like having to be a slug the day before my scan this month. Illimae, yay, you did it!

Interesting to read about and see the wildlife. I heard a great story about a friend's big dog saving her little dog from a coyote. The big dog heard the little one calling for help, raced over there, and told the coyote to scram.

I am doing better these days with adding walking back to my routine. Still dancing and going to yoga. Also re-started some back-strengthening exercises so as not to let my posture go downhill.

Heart Micmel. Whatever is going on, shake it off!

Hope all is well with everyone. Got to a hard core vinyasa yoga class today. Limped through it. Cried a bit. I am a mere fraction of my yoga diva self. That is the problem with going back and doing workouts you used to do. Can't help comparing yourself with yourself.

Still did well, in the scheme of things.

    How is everyone doing?

Shetland~ πŸ’œ I forced myself to move it today. Only a fast walk for 23 mins but hubby was with me, so I didn't care how long it took. It was a nice day out. Just too much to deal with with my mom. She's been in the hospital for almost a month, and I have to face she isn't getting better. Nevermind she lives in Mississippi, and I don't! I can't help her or see her. Not to mention I'm sick. So I can't even try to take care of her. This is all falling in my lap because all of my other siblings are useless and Ii am the The youngest of four. I knew it was going to fall on my family to deal with this and figure it all out! It's not just my mom either, my step father is 74 and is also just getting old. I am not going to have a choice soon but to make something happen. I'm just not going to have a choice yet again, cancer no choice. Seems like these days, I no longer have any choices. Thanks for the uplifting posts Shetland and Z. It means a whole lot right about now! ~M~
