Kandy, I've been politely following this thread from afar, holding you in prayer. IMHO it sounds like you still have fight in you. I like 7of9's idea of taking some time to rest and gain a little weight, then taking a run at Keytruda. Whatever decision you make will be the right decision. And you have an army of supporters behind you, beside you, and with you.

    Kandy,

I wish making this decision wasn’t so difficult. We all completely understand how hard your position is when trying to determine what is best for you when you’re feeling so poorly . Please know I’m praying you to have a bit of a breather, and then for God to provide you and your family some guidance in navigating this.

    Sending you hugs tonight -
    ❤️ Sheri

    Kandy,

I am praying for you. Keytruda has been miraculous for some patients who have had no luck with any chemo.

I hope you get some rest, eat well and have some peaceful days and that if you go ahead with Keytruda it is a wonderful treatment for you.

    I have admired you greatly.

    Mary

Kandy wishing you peace with your decision. You may feel differently if you get a breather from feeling bad and not eating.

I wanted to ask if everyone feels the way I do. I hurt so bad that it is difficult to get out of the chair. From the top of my head to my toes, not a place that’s not hurting. I am unable to get anything done. Sad, cause I’ve always been the work horse. This is what my MO is talking about, that the drugs are making me hurt worse than if I just came off of everything and let them do their thing. I really don’t want to die but this is unbearable. Hoping and praying that y’all are doing good

Lovely Kandy - you deserve a break. Perhaps try Keytruda, but add enough pain meds so you are not aching head to toe girl, and pray you can get a few things done no matter how simple they seem. I really hoped Ibrance would work for you, but it fails some ladies. You have been such a strong lady and shared your kind heart with many of us. Your family is very lucky to have you! A rock star. Now ask for some help and make the best decisions about what is next. Sending you a gentle hug (())

Kandy, I think the Keytruda will have little or no side effects at all, and I'd urge you to even add Abemaciclib ontop of that, because it is a great drug and synergizes with the Keytruda- I can't say you are OK to withstand the GI problems Abemaciclib comes with, but if you can beat back the cancer plus rid yourself of the other drugs, you will both be recovering and feeling much better?

Kandy, I read a lot of your posts and I feel like I know you. My heart and my thoughts are with you! They say at the end of the life everyone is alone, but this is not true . We are next to you with our prayers and everyone who loves you.

I deeply believe when the body dies, the soul get free .... no pain, no fear, only surrounded by love. That's way we can't accept the end, because there is no end!!!

    Sending gentle hugs and love

Kandy, if you have a little bit strength in you, think about adding Keytruda. What if it's the miracle, what if it turns around everything. I will pray theright decision to come for

Kandy, you are so smart, loving and strong. I think you will know when it is time to quit. It seems that at this point regardless of your immense suffering you still have hope. Remember before they said you would never walk again and you showed them. It is whatever decision you find peace in. Loving you across the miles

Kandy, this is a hard one. Most likely if you quit all the drugs you'll actually feel better for a bit, but in the end we all know what happens.

The question to ask yourself is what are your priorities? I remember more than a year ago when Rosevalley was so so sick. The community here said to her that if she wanted to stop we'd be here regardless. She didn't and had another 8 months on Faslodex. But. I don't know how good those months really were to her. I'm guessing she thought it was worth it. I have no idea if I would have thought it was worth it. And that's the question before you.

We're here for you no matter what. I wish I had advice to offer. I can offer hugs and wishes for peace.

    Pam

Kandy- my thoughts are with you now. What an immensely difficult time it is, and how much you are hurting-it is just so darned unfair. I pray that things go the way that you want them to- and that your discomfort improves STAT.

    Sending love, my MBC sister....MJH

Kandy, it's been one year and three days since you posted that unfortunately things are going downhill. I thought, how could you know that with so many more things to try? I guess you knew it in your gut. Although I rarely post here, I have followed you every day of your journey this past year. I wish you love and peace, free from pain. You are a beautiful strong woman, and through your own pain and troubles still managed to counsel many of us. Whatever you choose to do, your sisters are here to support you.

    Kandy,

I am going to pray a bold prayer to God on your behalf. That he takes away any pain and suffering that you are having. Your baby will always, always remember you. Might I suggest that you write letters to each of your family members and to God. Just knowing that you are in pain and suffering breaks my heart as others. This road is such a difficult one. In your heart you know the answer. But if there is a chance that something else can work, might you just consider it. We are your sisters and we love you, praying for you and will stand by you always. Hugs

    Kandy,

Daily pain can take you to the brink of insanity. I've had a few bits of it, and admire your strength and lucidity in the face of this cancer cr@p.

On your list of chemotherapies, I don't see Doxil or Gemzar. I'm on Doxil now, entering my 9th month. I'm one of those hormone positive types who gets no real traction at all from anti-hormonal treatments.

Has there been any talk of trying one of these drugs after a small wash out period? I don't know how to navigate this reply function well, because when I try to page back to look at the reasons for your hospice decision, I lose my reply. Besides the pain on your current treatment, and the rapidity with which you are going through some of the listed treatments, what are the reasons for considering hospice? I seem to remember some liver hinkiness, but the only thing I'm retaining lately is water.

Also, what treatments are they offering you for the pain? It seems crazy to ask you to make these high value decisions without making a major effort to control your pain.

In admiration of your strength and courage,

    Jennifer

    Kandy, sending love and prayers.

I know you have a lot of spirit and fight in you. You are being worn down by the pain.

Can MO address the pain while you take a breather from current treatments?

It seems there may be some options still for you.

Wishing you all the best, including lots of Harper time.

    Lots of love, Madelyn

I hate that you and Patty are in this place together. Making the hardest decisions not able to know the outcome. I agree with ^^ are the docs helping to figure out how to manage your pain??!! The mind is different when your body is not in constant, uncontrollable pain. I wish you the best. There really is no right or wrong decision. Sending love and prayers to you!

Hey everybody, I wanted to tell you that Kandy’s husband just texted me to tell me she has been admitted to the hospital. That’s all I know. I live about half an hour away, but I can’t rush to be there to get details. There has been a snowstorm and 8 inches of snow fell today. On one hand, I feel frustrated because I can’t even be there to hold her hand. On the other hand, she’s never asked me for anything, and I’m sure if she could she would tell me to stay safe and stay at home. This isn’t time for confusion or worry about Kandy’s condition. Let’s send positive vibrations, prayers for no pain and prayers of gratitude for her friendship. Kandy might just need some fluids and be home tomorrow. Or she might be headed away. I’ll let you know if I hear anything else

TMichelle, Thank you for letting us know. I am sending Kandy good thoughts and lifting her up in prayer. I understand your frustration, but Kandy would not want you to leave home during such bad weather.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

TarheelMichelle - Thanks. Strength to you as well. It's hard to not know what is going on exactly.

I just heard from Kandy’s husband. Kandy’s liver function is low, and she is having chest pains, in addition to the overall pain she’s been having, which she has mentioned here.

I told him that I hoped a pain specialist was there. I’m concerned she may have lost any response to her current pain medicine.

I’m going to see if I can get some flowers delivered to her in the morning. I will sign the card from all of us. Can anyone suggest a better way to say “all of your online friends” ?

I’ll also check in with Hal in the morning and report any new.

Ronda, how lovely of you to send flowers on behalf of us BCO friends. You are an awesome friend to Kandy and to us.

Kandy, I'm adding my support. I hope Kandy's husband can advocate for getting a pain relief specialist in right away.
