    Holmes great news

Grannax I’m happy you’re on vacation. I love vacation. You’ll make the right treatment decision later. Enjoy yourself now. Did you ask the ibrance thread?

Love seeing the pictures of the beautiful reception! Micmel, your daughter looked beautiful in your dress! You looked amazing and very happy! I’m so glad that you danced the night away, you deserve it after all of your hard work! Everything looked beautiful! As I mentioned before, I love the color, my whole house is decorated in it. It’s wonderful to see such happy times!

    Holmes, yahooo!!!! NEAD...amazing!

Micmel...the day looks like it was stunning, fantastic, wonderful..and more than anything, you were able to enjoy it! All your hard work paid off! I hope you can get some rest now knowing that your job is done.

We're finally getting settled into our new place. Our main floor boxes are gone....to the garage for storage. Lol. And we cooked our first dinner at home tonight for our DD and grandson who came for dinner. It feels good to see some progress.

Holmes~ Still thrilled for you and your news. They are waiting a little while to take a honey moon. Someone from their church is giving them their sharetime in New Jersey beach at the end of September! Which I find perfect. Love the coolness! I think they get to have much less tourism and have More quiet walks on the beach!

Tanya~I'm still smiling about the day. Luckily a lot of people took videos of the dances and I got to see some of them. It was wonderful! I have to say the day was amazing! I am exhausted and my body hurts!!

Gracie~It was everything I could have hoped for. I had to let everything in the past go. It doesn't matter now anyway and no one is perfect by any means. We all make mistakes. Luckily, we all came together for a wonderful loving day! The work was so hard. Preparing, cost etc... but now it's recovery time for sure! But loved every single second! Thank you all so much!!

Lynnwood~ I cant wipe the smile of my face and I keep loooking at the pictures. They are lovely 😊. Hoping you're out of the funk, I was pulled out by Saturday, as long as my body recovers quickly, I'll be ok!! Also, the burgundy was so deep and pretty I love the way it seems to accent everything! Love that color also

Minnie~ I can't believe I was dancing. People couldn't believe it. But they all knew that it was not only special that things mended, but that I was stage four dancing 💃🏼 a lot ! Oh look a burgundy dress! Our DJ was great!

I am so tired I can't even explain. But love you guys. Thanks again.

Grannax~ i also agree you should try to continue on ibrance, if they can't make heads or tails of what is going on in your liver. I don't want you waiting off of it and feeling worse like I did for months, when I went off of it. My side effect began all over again!! It wasn't fun!! Thinking of you!

Hope all else is well for everyone.. I'm back to bed for a good few hours !

    Much love ~M~

Micmel-Thrilled for you! Everything was lovely! The venue so unique and nice! I know you are exhausted, but I picture you wrapped in soft blankets sleeping with a smile on your face!

Holmes-NEAD! Such a beautiful acronym! Hope it lasts and lasts!

After a month of having company(loved every minute), I am enjoying the peaceful days of September. My Grandson is a very busy 4th grader with soccer, unicycle club, intramural sports, etc. The beginning of school means inordinate paperwork, which I need to be vigilant about lest I miss an important form! Enjoying gorgeous tomatoes from the garden and looking forward to the pumpkins for decorations.

Had appmnt. with IR last week and all looks good in my liver-shut down for now. Feel as though bone mets are stable, but have no proof other than dropping tumor markers. Not sure when next PET will be. Started back on Xeloda today after a 2 week break, so here we go with the feet again. Don't want to miss my walks.

Planning a couple short trips to visit elderly Aunts. One to N.C. and one to Florida. These very special ladies are 90, 97, and 99 yrs old. They will probably outlive me! Anyway want to see them while I feel well.

Also have planned a Disney trip in April. Whole family going; renting big house in Kissimee. Trying to wade through the guide books and figure this out. Anyway, flights and house are booked.

hey to everyone-Gracie,Minnie, Tanya, Lynnwood, the Lynns, Bighome(can't wait to meet you!), Runor, Mae, Pots,Magda, and all the rest of you dear MBC sisters. May the force be with you. Love, Mary Jane

Micmel, Gorgeous pictures! So glad it all went so well!

Holmes, Wow, Wow and wow! NEAD! Wohoo!!🎉🎈

MJ, holy cow, company for a month! You would be scraping me up off the floor! I can't wait to meet you too! I am beyond excited about meeting all of you!

I have been trying to keep up with this thread, unfortunately things have been so busy I am so tired at night. We lost our Westie on Thursday. We both feel a bit lost. He has been a part of our lives since May 2004. He outlived both of our Akitas! He was positive that our Akita, Sassy was his mama and she was sure that he was her puppy! We had Sassy cremated and had been keeping her ashes. We came home from the vets with Cooper and we buried him and Sassy in our flower bed. Now I need to get some kind of marker for them. I am still looking for him several times a day and so does Skittles.

Grannax, it sounds like you are having a great vacation and have made up your mind about your treatment. I can only imagine how relieved you feel! We are waiting for pictures!

    Hugs and prayers for everyone,

    Claudia

Claudia, so sorry about Cooper. I know what you mean about looking for him. Our current dog is nearly fifteen. He's practically blind, and it's harder for him to get around now but he eats well, enjoys his treats, and is still happy and playful. He loves everybody. We dread the day...We've had many dogs and cats over the years but this dog is the best. DH and I are crazy about him, but we know. We get so attached, don't we?

Claudia, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the pain of losing my Oscar, and I wish that on no one. ((Hugs))

Well, I’ve developed a new problem. I started shopping because I’m tired of looking like a lump of dirty sweatpants, and now I can’t stop Bawling This happens every time I breakdown and buy something. I have to buy something else, and something else and oh look - a sale! The good news is that I’m a shopping “bulimic”. I’ll eventually return at least half of my purchases Sick lol

My hair is pitiful. Little tufts come out when you touch it, but worse than that, wetting it causes fistfuls to come out. I’m trying to steel myself against shaving it... just in case it doesn’t all fall out (yeah right!). In the meantime, I just purchased (surprising, huh?!?) 7 scarves. I figure if I want to look decent, I should have some decent head covers too.

Hope you’re all having a beautiful day... x

bigbhome, so sorry to hear about your Westie. For dog lovers, this is beyond painful, dogs do no wrong. And, now I’m tearing up.

Anyway, not much to report, just got home from PT, I may clear off my kitchen table and start a puzzle.

MJH ~ sounds like you are one busy woman! I don’t know if I could do company that long. But surrounded by love and extremely hands is never never a bad thing. Thank you for your kind compliments about the reception and decor. I had a blast, it would not have happened if it wasn’t for my DH and my DSS, they really made it come together, I am forever grateful for what they did to make sure my vision happened. They are amazing and I love them both dearly!! Hope your feet give you a break. I know what you mean about your walks. Important stuff!! So good to see you back!

Bigbhome~Hello beautiful, I am so sorry to hear about your Westie 😪 they become family...children even. Our Tag is really getting slow and old.... I worry for him as well. I’m sending you a hug. I saw you mention meeting MJH. That is so very awesome. The pics!! I’m officially jealous. Would love to meet all of you! Have fun! Wow!

Muddling~ Hope you’re doing good. I’m exhausted today. Nap in my future!

Shelia~ totally understand the shopping thing! When I was planning the reception, I gave that ups and fedex a reason for their jobs ! I’m just relieved it’s done and I can relax. I did have a blast though! Amazing to think it all came so fast!
Mae~ hope the puzzle is a good one. Love puzzles !
Tanya~ waving and sending hugs to you my friend.
Runor ~ Thank you darling for the hug. Sending one right back at you! Missed seeing you around. !

MicMel-Looks like you had a wonderful day! Beautiful pics of everyone! Nice job!

    holmes-Great news!! Congrats!

Sheila-I never shaved my head (I lost my hair over a year ago after starting taxotere). I did cut my waist length hair, to my shoulders, and dyed it (for the first time in my 55 years) blonde with pink highlights. I lost most of it two weeks later. I just let the rest of it fall out. I never lost all of it, but the middle top went bald and I had 1/4 inch hairs on the sides and back and no eyebrows or lashes (that's the worst). It's been 3 months since I've been off Taxotere, and it it growing back slowly.I have a wig that I hate, but I wear at weddings and funerals. I've worn it 5 times. My younger daughter put french braids on the sides and up in the back (it's long, layer, and wavy), for our nephew's wedding last month. I liked it better. It has bangs that drive me crazy. I never had bangs. I usually wear a scarf or a bandana. I found some neat bandanas at bike week here in NH, this summer. The are kind of like a surgeons hat. Much easier to tie. I also have a couple of bamboo stretchy hats, that you don't even have to tie. I got them at headcovers unlimited, online. I'm so sick of covering my nearly bald head, I can't wait until it grows back. I'm starting to get hair on my legs, but still none in my eyebrows (sick of drawing them to go out of the house too) and my eyelashes. Hugs!

MJH-Enjoy your trips! We did Disney with the whole family this past April. We also rented a huge house in Kissimee. It worked out well. There were 11 of us. It was only 15 min from Disney. Wonderful memories. We are busy going to our grandsons games too. Luckily, they are on the same team, being only 1 1/2 years apart.

Claudia-So sorry to hear about your dog passing. We get so attached to our animals. Hugs!

Pots-Glad to hear you are settled in.

We went on a charity bike ride on Sat. Beautiful day for it. Hopefully, the sciatica doesn't act up again! We missed our grandson's soccer game though. I'm sad I missed it. Our older grandson Matthew, 7 was playing goalie and his brother Aiden, 5, was playing defense. They were the only 2 on that side of the field, since the ball and all the other players were at the other end. One of the other teams players booted the ball to our grandsons end. Aiden stops the ball, the turns around and is kicking it towards his team's goal. His brother is telling him not to kick it in, it was the other teams goal. Aiden just looked at him and smiled and kicked it in. His brother was not happy at all. My daughter said he did it on purpose. The coach said, he got a goal! They still won 3-1, the 1 being Aiden's goal. I just wished I was there. LOL

Expecting the remnants of Florence tomorrow. Lots of rain and 25 mph wind (we've had higher than that with thunderstorms). I pray for all those people in the Carolinas.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

What a wonderful day for all of you, Micmel! Both you & your DD looked gorgeous (& I love how you coordinated your dress with the decorations). DD looks so much like you; lucky girl! LOVED your centerpieces & the bridal bouquet - will she be saving that?

And what a special mother you are to encourage your DD to share a first dance with both her bio-dad & her heart-dad! Your generosity of spirit will ultimately benefit everyone, especially DD.

Now you can rest knowing you created a beautiful event & that everyone had a great time! Take care of yourself & enjoy your newly-empty nest!

Pots~ Hope settling in means you're able to start feeling more at home. I know boxes can sometimes linger in corners. I hope you will be very happy there!

Lynne(Man)~Thank you for the kind words and well wishes. I slept 16 hours today and can't wait to sleep tonight already. I had long long hair also. It killed me to have it buzzed. I didn't like it at all. I vowed I am not doing it again. But with faced with no other alternative. I may change my tune for sure. Good to see you!

JKL~ I had a blast. I didn't like that I looked like. A huge bag of walking flesh. I don't like looking over weight at all and the kicker is. I don't even have a large appetite. So it has to be the medication. It's embarrassing. I hate it. But I had fun. That's all that matters. Thank you for your kind compliments about the decor and the center pieces I did really research and work hard on them. I figured out I broke apart 10,000. Rose petals of four colors. Now that I think back. It was a ton of work and mental planning. Not to mention the cost. But my DD and her happiness was undeniable for sure.

    Much love to all ~M~

So I went to the urology/ oncologist regarding the swelling of my kidney and ureter. They did a bladder scan and a urinalysis right in the office. The dr reviewed my scans and said “ nothing really jumps out at him “ that is alarming. Says I could have kidney stones still in my kidney, could have lymph nodes pushing against my kidney making it look swollen. My urinalysis was “ perfect” and bladder scan normal. I had 2 choices, repeat the ct scan and hope whatever it was is goneor undergo a cystoscopy which is a day surgery and requires a stent to be placed for at least a week and may be painful. I opted for the least invasive option first and will repeat the scan tomorrow. Not good for the funk I’m still fighting. Prayers appreciated.

I realize now I have nothing to do. I’m ok with that this week because I am recovering from the reception, but I was always thinking about the next thing to be done. Physically I feel pretty good. I just feel like I went through a good work out. My thighs hurt like thighs do when you use those muscles, and haven’t in a while. Brought me back to working out. I miss it. A lot... sometimes one day of normal reminds me of all the things, I can’t do anymore.😪 thus the funk! Much love ~M~

Fifteen or twenty years ago my mother gave me a muffin recipe. It makes a huge amount of batter that can be kept in the fridge for up to six weeks and you bake the muffins when and as many as you wish. I made a big bowl full today and baked a dozen before I stashed the rest of the batter in the fridge. The original recipe calls for raisin bran, but when I have blueberries, I just buy bran flakes and add my berries. They are so good! Can't wait for breakfast. That's when I slice them open, spread both halves with real butter and toast them under the broiler.

Otherwise today, I have been a little down. Wishing for my former strength and my formerly good hand and arm while I was stirring. Hard to realize it likely won't get much better.

Yes, Muddling. Know that feeling. Have friends staying for 5 days. I had to give up today and go and lie down. The old me would have been on the go non stop. Will manage another late night tomorrow and then they're off. Then rest! Then prepare for Cruise on 27th. Not sure now how I will cope with 7 days on the go

Lynnwood-I would have chosen the non-invasive option too. I'm sorry you are still feeling down. Hugs and prayers!

Muddling-Yummy muffins! We had a cookout with our adult kids, grandkids, my mother, and one of my sister's, her husband, and one of her daughter's on Sunday. I baked for the first time in awhile. I made my caramel fudge brownies. Easy recipe and very sweet. I'm thinking of baking an Irish Whiskey Cake, but there is only myself and my husband at home now. Our older son comes Mon and Wed and every other weekend with our granddaughter for dinner (on Mon and Wed, sometimes on Fri and we try to have dinner with the kids at least every other Sunday so the 3 grands can play together). I could always send some home with him, and if our 2 daughters come by, I could send some with them. Darn it, I'm making one! LOL I'm sorry that you are feeling down. I've been like that lately myself. Big hugs!

Divine~Thank you darling. It was an incredibly special day and I feel so lucky to have been able to have those special moments, that I thought may never happen. It was a perfect day and I really couldn't have asked for more. It was the most special day I had since the shower. Now this day will forever live in my heart!! Thank you for the compliment about my daughter fitting into my wedding dress. It truly was special to see her in it and knowing the history behind it. Everyone was shocked that the dress that they were seeing was purchased in 1994. It looked brand new. So exciting! I hope your foot is healed and you're doing good.

Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I also love looking back at the pictures! I'm a zombie now. So tired. Ugh!

Daniel~ thank you very much. It was a special day. And the weather was perfect!! I am smiling for two days now. Happiness is a strange thing sometimes. Hugs to your Leslie please. Nice to see you back!

Muddling~ I'll take ten muffins. Lol I wish we could sit together and have coffee and muffins. I hear Bigbhome is planning a trip and will be visiting with some of our sweet sisters. Ok Jealous! I would love to meet all you sweet women. Daniel and Leslie too of course!

Minnie~ I know what you mean about usually being able to go to go. Now I can't can't. Rest my friend. Re charge those batteries!

Lynne~ hope the weather is cooling down up there a little. You're always traveling or doing something. You wear me out. Lol. Have fun with meeting our beautiful MJH and Claudia. So wonderful!

    Much love ~M~
