BooBoo1 I just got all my blood work back and my CEA jumped from 70 t0 89 and my CA27.29 jumped from 181 to 209. So I also am trying not to freak out. I am still just six months into this and had some progression on my first scan so THANKFULLY my MO moved my next scan up a month. The rest of my my blood work looks great! I don't have liver mets, but my liver enzymes have gone into the normal range for the first time in years. Alk Phos dropped a ton this month. I'll have the scan in two weeks but come ON Ibrance!!! Not to mention I have to wait two weeks to see if I've got progression again. Since I was diagnosed in April I have not gotten to hear the word stable which has been super disappointing and is not helping my anxiety levels one bit! Big hug!

moomala~ did they suggest to you that your body may be fighting an infection ? That rising and falling of markers can sometimes raise as much as 10 points or more depending on a viral infection. I’m with you hoping it’s just a ride before the fall. Ibrance works funny that way. I am starting my 36 month this week, after an 8 week break. Honestly, I don’t want to even start again. I feel like a new person with energy and drive again. I still need my naps. But not all day like before. I get so depressed sleeping all day long. Then it’s time to go back to bed again for another 8. Ugh!! But ibrance works !!!

Mel thank you. No-one has talked to me yet about the tm's but that helps a lot. My doctor seems to feel I'm on the right medication and is not giving up easily. And from what I have read here she is right- that it can take Ibrance awhile to settle in and do it's thing. My MO says always look for the trend, not the individual month. Also my friend MaryJane at the support group I go to always says 'my markers go up and my markers go down - i never worry'. I'm going to be like her - or try to anyway. BTW my MO told me not to have normal TM's as a goal. She said you may never get them to normal and that if I stay on Ibrance it will take a good year or more to get them to normal if ever.
I guess I didn't realize you were on a break from meds! How wonderful. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to go back on them. Sleeping all day is not fun and I too get depressed from just being a lump all the ding-dong day like yesterday and today. This afternoon I'm feeling better so I'm going to try just a fifteen min workout and see if that gets me going enough to feel like myself again. Since we're on the same side of the country I'm imagining it's HOT there today too. I'm about a minute away from turning the AC back on. It's 85 here and not only do we not get much breeze into the house, I live in an 1880's home where the windows are small-ish and the house heats up quickly.

Moomala and Mel,
Thanks. My last onc didn’t even test for TMs, so this is all new to me. Until they say it’s time for hospice, I’m going to go, go, go the best I can, and ignore those numbers. I’ll let my new onc worry about them.
I saw a stat in today’s Tampa Times that said people who nap are 48% less likely to have cardiovascular issues like heart attack, stroke or heart failure. Woohoo! I love my naps. No apologies! Even my hubby naps now. But I know what you mean though, Mel. Napping is different than not being able to get out of bed. Have you discussed that with your onc? I know Ibrance has been good to you, but there are other drugs you could try for a better quality of life. Love ya, girl

he changed my course of when I take it. One week on one week off. I just don’t know if my healing from healing kidney stone makes me feel ready to start round 36. I honestly know it’s been a miracle drug for me. He wont take me off unless I have severe progression this I know. He is willing to tweak things for me. My problem is the damage I have from the kick ass AC chemo and abraxane. Before the oral chemo and my five surgeries. It wears a body out forever. I realize I don’t bounce back like I used to at 49. He basically told me. Cancer itself is a fatigue disease. Cancer fatigue is like cement feet. I just want To stay on arimidex only and every week that goes by. I know I need to start again. He said to me. “Start when you feel ready” I’m not ready. Will I ever be ready? 😞🥺

Micmel, I am sorry that you have to make that difficult decision ... and kidney problems also cause a lot of fatigue in addition to pain, I know it from my own experience. Have we already said f@#%king cancer before in this thread?

Wow. Mel, I am so sorry. You probably told me all of this, but I didn’t know you have had 5 surgeries!!! My goodness. That’s enough to make anyone exhausted. Please accept my apology for not picking up on this previously. What a lot you have been through, my dear friend. I am just so happy that you are getting a much needed break right now.
As a matter of fact, we can all do the same thing. I asked my onc if I could take a one-week break last year when we went on vacation. She smiled at me and said, “Of course.” She said everything was about quality of life, and taking a break from treatment is all about the quality. So I think more of us should consider a break. It’s good for the soul and the mind. Oh, and the body, as you have seen, Mel

Muddling, sending my thoughts to you as well that you are able to get out of hospital soon.
Mel, wow, look how much surgery you have been through. My goodness. My continued good wishes for you as well.
Nothing going on for me today, just laundry and housework. Will be busy this week with training for a virtual friendly visitor tomorrow. Think friend except as a volunteer service. There is a year long wait list to have one in person so this one would start immediately while I wait. Should be interesting. Court is this week, Wednesday for witness prep and Thursday for the actual preliminary hearing. SIL coming along for moral support, I was nervous. I am less nervous now as I do not really have much to say.
