Santa~I was my fathers bar tender towards the end of his life. I know exactly what you're experiencing. Going through death isn't easy, but when they know ans everyone knows there's nothing to be done. People becoming strong and accepting slips in for that needed moment. Then the grief washes you because of exhaustion. I am sending you a huge hug! Huge hug. I just went through it in May. Almost a year already

Moth, we are coming up to our curve in Ontario. There have been deaths but tragically, most of them have been in the nursing homes. There are still people passing away in one residence, last count had almost half the residents passing away. In London, I am not hearing about a huge spike. Doug Ford is actually acting in our best interest which means we are in the Twilight Zone because I don't agree with his party at all normally. In this case, I respect how he's handled things. Biggest problem I see repeated over and over is the PPE for our healthcare providers needs to come in.
We are modelled to come in at between 3000 to up to 15000 deaths. Sounds scary BUT those are models only. We also have a huge population as well. If people keep staying home, don't touch face, washing hands and wear a mask to contain your sneezes, fewer infections would occur and fewer deaths. Masks should be promoted as protecting others from getting and spreading the infection. It would die out much sooner if people actually considered doing this.

they have to get a vaccine established because they are already saying it’s going to Come back again possibly like the flu. That’s scary, I agree there won’t be going back to the old way of things

I would be honored to hang out with all of you in my living room for real! I have always wanted to find someone local and really have a sister in battle. So far that hasn’t worked out. BooBoo~ was closer to me but then she moved at a quick pace. The other closest to me is Philly, but she lives in the city and doesn’t have a car. I am Not a city person at all I get big anxiety being in a city. I have no desire to go to NYC. Except for the 911 memorial That is speechless beauty and honor. I’m basically a homebody But I love to hangout with people in my home and entertain. I wish we all had a chance to meet those who we have special relationships with. Like MJH , met with Our dear passed lynne Manchester , and our sweet loving lynne50~s. All actually had lunch together. What a special thing. I would be honored. I hope one day someone can come my way who is also in need of another stage four. Buddy! After social distancing of freaking course. Love to all!

While we're at it, here I am with hair gone for the second time. I was in tears when it started to go, but now I just don't give a flip.

SantaB- thinking of you just now. So hard to see an anchor in your life slipping away, even if you know they are done.
I feel like many of you in that I haven't fought off dying from MBC for four years just to be taken out by little particles of crunch coated RNA. Damn It!
Early spring here, but we have crocuses which I adore. DH and grandson and I went on a 3hr woods walk yesterday. It was so refreshing. A fun part was listening to the chorus of woods frogs. I raked in the yard today. As I haven't even felt like getting out of bed lately, I was pleased.
I so LOVED meeting the Lynnes, and we also had lunch with BigHome. I would love to meet all of you.
Soooo, hang in there during the weirdness everyone. It will end....
Love to each, Mary Jane

MJH~Your ears must have been burning beautiful lady!! Always a pleasure to see you and hear of your travels. You’re always up To something. You and your precious grandson. It’s so good to hear of a long walk in the woods. That’s the problem anymore, there are toomany people and not enough space. We are over top Of each other. Look at those bigger cities. Scary stuff.

Lostmy hair for the second time almost 4 years ago. Have worn my wig since. So easy, pop it on, I'm ready, no fussing with hairdryer, no hairdressing, makes life easy.
I was lucky enough to meet Marianelizabeth last year when I was visiting my daughter in 🇨🇦, maybe meet again in September, if this covid 19 has gone.

Morning from Illinois.
Another long day of not much to do. You can only clean house so many times...I live alone. Hahahaha.
Yesterday I made a list--I am a list maker for everything. My list is titled " Things to do in COVID lull". What I mean is, this summer maybe the virus will decrease some. But I believe it will return with fall weather again, like the seasonal flu and colds. And then I (we) with lowered immune systems and no vaccine yet will be stuck at home again. So during that time of lull, if that truly happens, I need to do some things. For example, number one is haircut !! I also need to get oil change and maintenance on my vehicle. And go shopping for clothes, and some house stuff (bookcase). Do eye exam and get new glasses. Etc.... The list just made me feel better some how. Control. I don't know.
Hugs to all of you. I do wish we could all meet in Mel's Living Room for real. Plop down on the couch with a soda, coffee, or wine--soda for me. And laugh. And shed a few tears too. Alas, I am alone in my home still.

Candy~ I am alone also. I went nuts yesterday. So I guess today again all over. It drives you crazy. I don’t want much news only the updates at night. Can’t watch, causes me anxiety and I panic that I’ll get it. I have to go out today. 😟 but luckily it’s a curbside pickup I can’t wait to get home already.....I don’t have the energy to clean the house. Nope. Even mister adderall only Allows so much energy. I go in spurts is energy. I just wish I didn’t have to nap almost daily like a toddler. Ugh!

Hi Mel.
Well my house cleaning is not overly strenuous. Run vacuum in a couple of rooms---no moving furniture or anything. Dusting by taking Swiffer Duster and swiping over things. Cannot get too dirty with just me and my cat. And keeping on top of things--a place for everything and everything in its place--makes cleaning easy.
Curbside pick up is ok. At least out and seeing other humans.

Minnie~ Good see you cutie. Hope you and yours are healthy. Glad to see your numbers going down, along with Italy finally. I hope ours start to leveL off. It truly is one for the history books. I still don’t believe this wasn’t lab created and an oppppsss occurred on China’s part and then it was too late to warn anyone Why isn’t anyone talking about China’s part in this? I guess we battle the virus. Then investigate. Lives are way more important then anything right now. Sending you hugs!

Dear Mel, Mara, and Candy,
I’d hang out with you guys any day of the week! Thank you for making me feel so good even without hair!
Wanted to share this news in case you haven’t seen it. I worked for J&J, and honestly believe we will have a vaccine before too long. Click on the link below, and then scroll down and watch the interview from CNBC:
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/30/johnson-johnson-to-begin-clinical-trials-on-coronavirus-vaccine-candidate.html
I called several of my colleagues at J&J who are directly involved with vaccine production, and they all said this is real...so hang in there everyone. Help is on the way.
Love to all,
Boo

BooBoo~ we have so much in common When I was working J&J was my account solely for all billing and collections account manager for Fisher Clinical services . I used to visit several places for them. I enjoyed it a lot. Wish I could still be doing it. They are an awesome company. Go J & J GO!

Boo- Hope we do have a vaccine soon. And we can get it out to everyone easily. I read article and will watch video later. So many what ifs--if you have had the virus are you immune and for how long? Will those people get the vaccine too? Do we do a blood test first to show if immune or not, BEFORE we get vaccine? Is vaccine yearly like influenza vaccine or does it last longer? One can hope and pray.

Thank you Boo boo for saying that, I really appreciate it.
I did wake up tired from all the furniture moving and garbage runs yesterday. Plus I went to bed later than I should have due to a John Hughes marathon. Found an old disc from my computer days and I had digitized my copies of a few of his movies on it. Watched Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's day off. Lots of fun, 2 am before I knew it.
Today, have been splitting time between chores, making money online and walking. I sit when doing surveys or whatever so I set I timeframe of 20 mins of sitting then walk for 5 mins. So far, been working well. Will be doing some outdoor walking but sticking to indoors until dressed. Feeling good. That is how I am staying busy. Avoiding covid news for other countries now. What is happening elsewhere has no immediate affect, going to keep track only locally. Not going to go down the rabbit hole. Stressing about it will not protect me, will hurt me. Will look with optimism each day I wake healthy, wear my mask when in store to protect others and feel that I am doing the right thing.

well I guess it’s lawn mowing time in the neighborhood. There goes my nap. Second day in a row crappy nap . I haven’t eaten anything yet today. I know I need to eat. Ibrance makes that hard. It’s rough on your mouth. I’m never hungry. But can’t loose a pound. So weird. I’m not going outside now. Allergies are kicking in already. Everything is suddenly so green.

Mel- Mowing going on in my neighborhood too. I have windows open for fresh air. I do not mow anymore. Before the cancer, I mowed my yard weekly-2 city lots. I push mowed. Took 3 hours or more to do. But now, no way I can do that. I hire it done. Expensive, but what can you do. Mel- You need to try to eat. Food is so important--blood sugar levels, nutrition, and may help stave off depression. Have you talked to your MO, nutrition consult? Tips for choices and/or mouthwash for mouth? My appetite is good. I just have a rare mouth sore. Constipation an issue for me. Prune Juice is my friend anymore.

Mel, are having canker sores?

Hi Candy,
I have the same questions as you do. J&J has a huge vaccine business in the Netherlands, and they also have a partner (Moderna) who can scale up production. The video has news people asking some of those questions to our CEO Alex Gorsky. I am going to assume that, like the flu which has many different strains, COVID-19 is the same. So it’s likely that once a solution is found, many companies will produce the most common strain of Covid-19 vaccine. But this is something yet to be answered for sure.
Stay safe my dear friends. I don’t want to lose any one of you to this ugly disease.

I hope a vaccine comes soon. I still wonder if there is any value in getting a pneumonia vaccine if you can due to the fact that it seems to be what can kill people. It would not stop the other symptoms but may make risk of getting pneumonia less or make the pneumonia less severe. Have not heard anything about that.

Good afternoon
My grandson came over to dig a hole for my friends cat 18 died just before dawn. She lives in an apartment and the vets were closed all weekend.
Nothing eventful here just sitting outside doing school work 6ft apart from my grandson. My husbands inside got him hooked on downtown abbey. My squash and garlic have sprouted
Have a isolating day all.

Mara~Just sore tongue and the pizza burn mouth feeling. Yuck. I ate something. Finally. But it really burns. No canker sores luckily. Just inside redness and pain I heard last night the pneumonia vaccine is for a different strain of pneumonia. Not the one associated with this covid. It binds to the respiratory cells directly in the lungs. Makes them heavy. I made sure to listen to that specific question, because I wondered as well.

waving to Tanya. Hello there darling!

Thanks for the info about the pneumonia vaccine. Thought as much because if that could work, they would be doing it already.
As far as the burning mouth, I have experienced that before. I always found drinking a drink with ice cubes or chips a relief. I did that a few times a day.

Mara - John Hughes movies are a go-to soother for me too - I like Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles and either Weird Science or Ferris Bueller. Actually, the house from Sixteen Candles was on the market last year, or the year before, and while all the hideous wallpaper had been removed, you could still clearly recognize the layout. I think it finally sold for a shade under a million, which for the Chicago suburb its in and provenance, is pretty damn cheap if you ask me.
Mel - nothing worse than an interrupted afternoon nap, seriously, especially one when daylight savings has ended. I love a good nap with that summer sun behind the window shade, makes everything a bit more groggy feeling. Until someone mows a lawn or a kid stars shrieking, etc! Or if you have juuussstt about drifted off and after that, forget it.
We are playing all sorts of real estate games over here - everything is suddenly 'name your price' and any reasonable offer won't be refused. I finally got a hold of the guy for the flat we wanted and its still available, but then he sent over a full detached house in contemporary style that is on at £9K a month, but the owner is willing to go to 60% less for a short term rental just to get the cash flow. It would be more space but the entire back of the house opens up on sliding doors - now thats fabulous if you have a view of like the ocean or a mountain and its like California or something, but this has a view of... the neighbors. Who have a view of you. Think well stick with the cozy (cheaper) flat near my friend for a few months, wait for everything to take a breather, and then sort out the final move by end of August. On the plus side - no stairs will be fantastic after months of putting up with them with the crutches/cane!
Hello to Boo and Santa and Candy and Tanja and all the lovely ladies keepin' on through these tough times!
