Karen,
My apologies. I missed that you need pocket duty too. But no worries. That cheesecake will feed an army! Seriously, hoping for the best possible outcome!

Pocket duty for all who need it. My best wishes to all who need them as well and even to those that do not need them

late to pocket duty but I am Here!!! Little tired on my week off of ibrance. Took some long naps. Having cancer just isn’t easy.

and candy. I’m sick of having cancer also. It gets more than old. More than tiring more than sad. More than frustrating. More than scary. More than time consuming. More than evil. More than wrong. More than painful, more then mind bending. I hate every single thing about it. I’m soooo with you.

just popping in to wave hello!
I participated in a zoom online metastatic support group meeting this morning (run by my cancer agency). It was ok. I plan to attend again - runs twice/month.
Other than that, went to a massage therapist this week & finally am seeing some improvement in my back (which i mucked up while camping) though now that i think of it that might be the steroids from yesterday
Other than that, just hanging out and playing with Olive, knitting, watching netflix and trying to finish my xmas and birthday gift shopping (we have a Nov & Dec bday in our family)

Did not do much today other than surveys, watching amazon prime and disney plus and a little laundry. My AC unit had a lot of water in it so I called my older DB. He and his wife came over this evening and took it out of the window and took it home since I have no room. He will look at it as I thought it was a problem somewhere with the condenser. It was nice of him to do that for me. Gave me the opportunity to clean a windowsill that was covered in leaves under the AC unit. Bright and shiny once more.

Hello to all!
Hope everyone is having a good day. It's beautiful weather here, and so I'm trying to get outside and enjoy it (mostly bc I am not fond of winter). Have already taken a walk, and will do another this afternoon. Just trying to bask up some of this beautiful sunshine.
Wishing everyone a good weekend.

That’s awesome, BevJen. Still very steamy here. Not too bad in the shade. I hope you had a great walk.
Hi, everyone.

Forgive my Scottish ignorance...what’s joint compound? 🤔

Well, had a lovely turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. Our area says only 10 people but we had 11. It was great food, good wine. I don't usually drink but had two generous glasses of pinot grigot. Came home with leftovers. Even walked just after dinner before dessert. Took 3 laps around their condo parking lot. Helped to remove the uncomfortable full feeling and turned it into a comfortably full. Really enjoyable and good to see niece and nephews again as I mostly just see DB and SIL. We also had SiL younger brother and daughter as it was her birthday and DB's MIL and husband too. Full house.

we had burgers today, hubs and I got in the pool for one last swim (maybe) before the close on Tuesday. Talked to my Mom whom I haven’t seen much this year. We were supposed to do lunch thsis week but we will wait. My youngest has a sore throat, couple of fellas at my office have colds from their kids, negative results for COVID so that’s good. Hope to see my family at Christmas. I missed last Christmas because I has the flu. I’m a little tired of this but I will persevere. Love to all.

Covid definitely has been a drag. We have not been hit as bad as other areas in Ontario. I stil think Ford should have pulled the trigger on stage 2 in the hotspots before it got this far so business could have accounted for this. London is not too bad now but it could all change for sure.

Feeling much better today after a fatigue day in bed yesterday (I overexercised!). Bonus - the sun is shining and we are going down the corner with a drink in the afternoon to visit with my buddy and catch up. Think I will make some minestrone soup for the week.
Karen - I got the flu shot at GP on Friday and its a doozy. My arm is still sore and I have a giant bruise. Felt like they were pumping in a gallon of the stuff! I had to laugh when she said 'this may feel like a scratch' - lady, this is the easiest needle I have to face in the next 7 days!
Mom sent through pictures of sisters wedding from yesterday and it did look very lovely and rustic and they had great weather. They had a bunch of hand sanitizer and stuff around but still, looking at some of the photos, not sure how much that mask wearing was adhered to.

Morning all. 8am here. Church service online in a bit. Laundry today. Otherwise not too much.
Yesterday I went for my liver MRI at my new cancer center-- 2 hour drive one way. I went alone, of course. Nice weather. A little too warm, around 80 degrees. But the leaves are changing so the view was nice. There was a couple of patients in the waiting room--not too busy since Saturday and no doctors in. The nurse that started my IV said she would get done with her workday around 3p--my appointment was a 1p. I posted on the Liver Met Thread about the experience-- my first liver MRI. Not the most fun--- mild claustrophobia with MRI's anyway and weird feeling with the IV contrast administration. On the way out, the nurse commented something like "I hope the best for you" or something like that. She had a look of pity?, sympathy? I thought, "I wonder if the MRI tech commented to her about my scan---maybe they saw bad news. Or maybe the nurse read my chart and felt bad for me". Or..... maybe I was reading too much into her comment. By then I was ready to get out of there.
Nobody understands what we go thru. The scans, the waiting, the fear.
I tried to enjoy the day--- got a soda in a drive thru on the way home. But it is what it is. Stage 4 cancer and a Saturday getting scans to see if it has gotten worse.

Candy strong lady you made it through! The nurse probably says that to all patients.
Did anyone get a Covid vaccination test trial invitation?
Tanya

Hello Ladies~I don’t like tight spaces either. I also got my flu shot, wasn’t taking any chances.
Candy~Sending you a hug.Sondra~Glad you’re feeling better, I have those days too terrible. Could sleep all day long. Some days I do.
Mollie~sounds fun. I love the pool, kinda sad when you have to close it for the season. Then you know cold and winter are coming.
Mara~Glad you enjoyed yourself I love the stuffing the most with gravy. Sounds like I would have been in bed early. But you were smart to walk it off!!! Way to go.

waving to Tanya, she snuck in there!
Hello Karen~. Hello BevJen. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday. Little chilly here today.

Candy, I am sorry the nurse made you feel uneasy in an already uncomfortable situation. I am glad you have other things to do today. In your pocket for results.
Mel, I love stuffing and gravy too. I had leftover turkey, stuffing and gravy for breakfast. Planning a 30 min walk around the neighbourhood, just been busy with surveys and laundry. The breakfast was delicious.
I was planning to walk to Walmart but I realized that people who have Thanksgiving dinner on the actual day which is tomorrow might be crowding the store. I decided to skip that hassle. i don't actually need anything anyway. When I went shopping with DB and SIL Friday night, I just got extras of my usual items. If I am desperate to shop, I will go on Tuesday morning weather permitting.

Tanya-I haven't gotten an invitation for a Covid vaccine trial but I want one! I volunteered when they were looking for 5000 people in Chicago but wasn't picked. Are you going to get one?
Mara-Happy Thanksgiving! Sounds like you had a nice family get-together.
Candy-I wouldn't read into the nurse's comment. I don't think either the techs or nurses are qualified to read the MRI reports. I imagine she was trying to be nice.

Mara - happy Thanksgiving. I’m a Canadian living in the US and I usually prep a Canadian thanksgiving for my American friends. Can’t get enough turkey, right? This year, though, with Covid and my new diagnosis, I felt too overwhelmed so just thinking Thanksgiving thought

Well, I must admit, today has turned into a butt on the couch most of today. I made money with surveys and such and napped in between episodes of Once Upon A Time on Disney plus. I am OK with this, was busy for a long time yesterday and up late. Will probably go to bed early tonight as I was late both friday and saturday this past week. Nothing on for me this week except herceptin on Wednesday morning which is fine.

Candy, you got through it that’s the main thing! And Tanya is right, the nurses have things they say to everyone... I’ve had the same...it’s a way of ending the appointment kindly,as it were.
I also had a bit of a lazy day, although I did varnish the stair bannister which was covered in paint spatters ( not us) .... only took me 26 years!Anything to keep busy before results day on Wed (we think if report actually in). When’s your’s Candy?

Karen, I missed your scan day, so pocket duty while you wait for results! Bringing some peanut m&ms.
0 -
Thanks Rosie, I can taste peanut M&Ms.... in my head!
It’s a funny thing with chocolate. I think we have a different taste here, more for 70% cocoa and a bitter taste... I like good chocolate flavoured with sea salt or chilli and only a wee bit at a time. The really sweet stuff just gives me a sugar rush headache. Not all goody two shoes though as I like decent wine and a single malt whiskey... Scots after all!

Yeah the nurse comment was probably just a nice comment. Just the stress of all of it. I took her comment wrong. A look of sympathy or a kind word made me think something was wrong.
Karen- Hoping to hear results by the middle of the week.

Karen and Candy waiting for scan results suck. I’m in your pockets while you two are waiting.
Chicagoan I got a letter Friday about Covid vaccine. I had gotten an email too. There are a limited number of people so we’ll see if I get picked. I want to take it bc of the place I am in life (senior citizen with stage 4 bc) and I want everyone to be able to take it, so if this helps others great. They had a list of criterion (can’t have ever been infected with it), etc. we’ll see soon enough. I have to call on Monday and have it done by Oct 23.
Pet scan coming up on the 27th.
Boo boo how’s Huey Lewis doing with his new medication?
Mara happy thanksgiving. Do you do the same thing we do (overeat turkey with family) on Thanksgiving?
Tanya

Candy, I hate MRIs too. The noises drive me crazy and I am also very claustrophobic. Whenever I have a scan (or even an x-ray) I always think the tech has seen something and no matter what they say I take it as sympathy. It's a state of mind I think. Wishing good results for you!
Hello to everyone else; this thread moves so fast I have trouble keeping up.

Tanya, yes I did overeat this weekend, not just yesterday but today too. I had to get up and walk when we were recovering from the charcuterie board and the main meal. Funny, though the walk was very short, less than 10 mins, it did a lot to settle the food where it needed to be for me. From uncomfortable fullness to really contented. I plan to get busier tomorrow with more walking since stores are closed for the holiday.
Good luck with the vaccine, hopeful all of you can pave the way to something that may help since this virus is so persistent.
