You are pretty amazing Lita... Beautiful picture!

I am new to the community, but have gone through SO many different topics since my diagnosis on Jan 3. Lita, I just want you to know you have been such an inspiration as I have read different posts. I’m 31, getting married in a month, and having a mastectomy on Tuesday. I have been in a poor me phase the past few days. You bring so much positivity and humor and I just want to say thank you. One of the shining lights through all of this is that I’ve stepped out of my daily bubble and opened myself up to some really amazing women. You are amazing, lita

Hi Lita, was great to see your photo and your project! The pillow cover looks wonderful. Isn't it just the most wonderful thing to snuggle up with a dog?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank our angel, KANDY, for originally setting up this thread.
She always thought about others, even in the midst of her own pain and suffering, before herself.
She is greatly missed.
I continue to pray for her husband, children, and grandson, Harper.
With a heavy heart,
Lita

🕯🕯🕯For our precious Kandy, she is certainly missed. May she be soaring above painfree, watching over her beautiful family. Sweet 😇 angel she is and always will be. Much love ~M~

Such a loss for our community, and even more for her family

I'm at a loss for words! I have read many of Kandy's post. She always had kind words of encouragement. I am sending prayers for her family and all the ladies who were so close to her.
Lita - you are an inspiration as well! Always looking for the joys in life. ♡♡♡♡

I am so sorry to hear that BC has taken another one of my sisters! Sending prayers for her family and for all of us. I hate BC!

Lita - I'm not on BCO a lot these days - but I want you to know that you are always on my heart and in my prayers. I'm sorry that the rads didn't help things - I'm hoping for good results from the Gemzar for you! I'm glad you've felt well enough to do a few things lately. What a great picture of you! Thank you for sharing it.
I hadn't heard about Kandy until tonight - it breaks my heart to lose her. I went over to her thread and posted, but thank you for your tribute to her here too. We will all miss her so.
Love and hugs,
Amy

Onco nurse called to postpone chemo for today. I figured that would happen after I got on the portal last night and got my blood results.
My platelets are practically non existant and my liver alt's are thru the roof. They doubled the first infusion and more than doubled again with the last one.
Gemzar is notorious for both of the above. On the bright side, at least I'm off for Super Bowl weekend and can eat what i want w/o the worry of nausea and possibly explosive diarrhea...but I'll still keep wearing my depends cuz I never know .

Lita, may your counts rise for next week then. Do you watch Superbowl? I'm waiting with bated breath for the This Is Us episode afterward. And the cast on Jimy Fallon.

Lita I’m thinking of you and hoping for your counts to recover while you on your break next week and that you enjoy Super Bowl weekend.

I'm more interested in This is Us, too.
DH and DD are the big sports fans.

Lita-bummer about the labs. A tiny consolation that they are expected side effects. I hope you enjoy Sunday with your family and some yummy snacks! Best to you-MJH

Enjoy your weekend Lita.

We need to prepare ourselves for This Is Us. All teasers and cast interviews have said that it will answer all questions about Jack's death.

This is Us.....
Powerful. I have no more words.
Gonna make sure to replace those smoke detector batteries.

Yes, I will bet the sales of the batteries and smoke detectors are through the roof right now. No spoiler alert, won't say more since there are some who had to record and watch this evening or tomorrow evening.
Just to say that is one of the best shows ever!!!
I also like The Good Doctor and The Resident.
Lita - I am sending you a PM, if you could check when you feel up to it.
Hoping you are having some wonderful moments in time. Sharing a snow painting w you, we have a wonderland right now. Danny Boy is loving it.

Yes, Bluebird, I agree with your choice of shows. Also add 9-1-1.

I haven’t watched This is Us, sounds like I need to. Bluebird, my uncle just recommended The Good Doctor to me when I spoke with him last week.

Yes 9-1-1. We just started watching that. And the new spinoff from Grey's Anatomy will be good I think. Have watched every Grey's episode and plan to again in a bingeathon.
This Is Us - if you haven't watched yet, needs to go from first episode to last, there is too much to know and enjoy. Delectable weekly soap-type drama of high quality.
Throw in Lethal Weapon, the series drama. Crawford upstages Wayans, and how is that possible. From episode one is best there too and for the same reason. I had missed first episode and watched it 7 eps in and wow, it was on fire from the first five minutes. Never take your eyes off Riggs (Crawford). I rewind and replay just to see what he is up to in the background too.
Now, we have to look at just WHO we watch this stuff with. Like my and Hubby. He watches The Bachelor /ette w me. He sits there and runs his mouth the entire show, judging this and judging that. Our DD when she lived here was tossing judgements from the peanut gallery too.
Hubby was intolerable during the Sunday episode of This Is Us. When he gets upset he cannot shut up. Why didn't they this and that. I am sitting there bawling and he is yacking. I stopped the show and told him he had to get a grip! When he is upset he starts to jangle his knee and rock back and forth and yack. Well, suck it up and just cry dude, now shut up so you can feel. And because of your yacking I have tears interruptus and now you ruined it for me.
We're best friends so I can get away w that tone. And he watches Hallmark movies w me, so he is forgiven.
On This Is Us when another person died (not giving it away, no spoiler here for newbies) I was in the living room sobbing. He was cooking in kitchen, much more peaceful and easier to focus on the show.
Lita - I was going to PM you and due to heavy snow we lost power 5 min later. Going to PM you now. Sorry for hijacking your thread here though I know you love this show.
I think the medical pros are all at fault in the death. The ambulance needed to keep him on oxygen and on an IV and get him to ER and more of the same and check his everything. So hospital, ambulance, doctors. Not doing their jobs. I wonder if she sues?

Lita - wishing you well. Can't participate here until I get caught up on This is Us. Afraid of spoilers.
Binge watching. Will catch up soon.

I agree, bluebird. The #3 cause of death in the USA (after heart disease and cancer) is human medical mistakes. Jack should not have died...med team should have been more on the ball.

Yes, Lita - that was what Hubby was yelling about. Why are they this - why aren't they that. WTH why is she driving him?
That was a huge spoiler. Z will come back and chime in soon enough. Sorry for too much info on those who haven't seen it yet.
BTW, it's on tonight again, not that episode though.

So here's the scoop: I FINALLY got to go see the eye doctor, and it's about what I expected. Lost a LOT of peripheral vision b/c of the brain mets. Also in the right eye, I have a mild bit of hemorrhaging near the optic nerve because of the pressure being exerted by the mets. Will have to stay on low-dose steroids to help with that. I did not expect that at all. I knew my left eye was bad, but I thought the right one was relatively okay.
The blind spot is still there. Not much they can do about that, either. I'm getting used to it. My glasses Rx hasn't changed that much, so I elected NOT to get another pair of regular glasses made - - I may not be around long enough to warrant spending the money on extra frames, etc. I will, however, take an old pair of sunglasses frames that I have and have new lenses put in those b/c I've been running around with the same sun glasses for over three years. I could use an updated pair so I can read the road signs (even tho I'm not supposed to be driving anymore b/c of the brain mets affecting my vision).
Platelets are back up just a little, but my liver ALT's are still more than double what they should be. MO is going to let me do this week's Gemzar infusion regardless, so we'll see how it goes. It's weird. I actually feel okay, other than the odd aches and pains from bone mets, but my blood numbers say otherwise.
Stay healthy, ladies. The horrible flu is no where near winding down yet.

Good update Lita - like you said, you are still here. A sunglasses frame for a pair of regular glasses would be a pretty cool look.
Last week we got 3 canisters of sterilizing wipes and have them strategically placed for on the go. I have been wiping handles and cart and Hubby's steering wheel, giving to him for his hands.
With my cough being what it is, I am scaring a lot of people though, I cough into my wool scarf and see people looking at me. Maybe I need a sign on me - stay back, this cancer patient does not want the flu.

Lita sending hugs and prayers for you.

Eye sight is getting really bad again b/c of brain mets. So, I decided to use up some old yarn and make myself a sleeping cap while I can still see.
Went to eye doc on Wed, and he says I've already lost a lot of peripheral vision, and he took a pictire of my optic nerves. Blood vessel behind right nerve is hemorrhaging,...sigh, and my blind spot in left eye is growing. Sofia is going to be drafted as a seeing eye dog.
