Beatmom, It was tough. Several times I had to pull out stitches and re-do them...much easier to do with a crochet project than a knitting project, ha ha. Mostly, I did a lot of it by feel.

I used to crochet a lot when I was younger so I have the hand memory thing, and I used 4-ply yarn and a size "I" crochet hook. If I had to crochet something with thinner yarn and a smaller hook, I would have been in big trouble :o(. DD says I should put a pom pom or tassle on the top of the hat, so that's what I'm going to do this afternoon b4 my eyes get too tired.

I just finished updating our phone list that goes on the wall by the land line phone. It hasn't been updated since 2013, and I figured I better get that done while I can still see.

    Take care, everyone,

    L

Gemzar is really doing a number on my platelets and liver ALTs. Also having some delightful gastrointestinal issues, but at least I don't have to deal with the debilitating Taxol fatigue. That was horrible. I just hope the Gemzar DOES something. My eyesight is getting worse, dizziness is back and so are headaches b/c brain tumors are growing again. Had the WBR in Sept, and RO said the mets would eventually start growing again. All I can do right now, since they can't re-radiate again (it'll turn me into a vegetable), is up my steroids, which brings on its own series of problems.

So many other MBC sisters are suffering way more than I am, so I have to keep things in perspective.

Hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day. I'm going to braise some osso bucco for V-Day dinner while I can still see enough to cook. Eyesight is really getting bad.

    Lita,

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have heard that cyberknife can be used after WBR. Is that included in the proscription against radiation because of possible brain mush? I know that another round of WBR is probably out, but . . . .?

Cruddy eyesight is no fun at all. You are one heck of a brave woman.

blaine, I asked RO about that too, and he said we couldn't do it at this time.

    Thanks for asking Smile

Lita I continue to be amazed by all you are able to do with all that you are going through. You are amazing. I worked on sending healing energy to you and many of our MBC sisters who are having challenges during my healing meditation today and hope some of that energy reaches you all and helps.

Osso bucco- yum- one of my favorite aromas to fill the house with while it's cooking. Happy Valentines Day, lovely Lita!

Lita, cool sleeping hat. I have a pale blue but sure didn't crochet it! My thread of choice was embroidery art. Long long ago. Always thinking of you. .

Lita, you are lovely and the hat is lovely. The colors are pretty and the stitches are so even. It's amazing that you can do that with your vision.

I teach crochet for the craft guild at my church, many of our members are retirees. Grace joined us soon after her 94 birthday, as she had recently moved into her daughter's home. I taught Grace crochet, and she made many items for her family and our craft fair. As her arthritis made it hard for her to crochet, she started loom knitting.

Loving your perspective, even as you are dealing with "delightful gastrointestinal issues."

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your wonderful hubby (and not to that nasty interloper).

Lita- Happy Valentines' Day to you as well! I know the meal will be yummy! The spiritual work and mental energy that has gone into your being able to comment on your condition in such a nonchalant manner is no small thing. It seems that you have achieved a state of grace and I hope it is bringing you peace. I'm sure you have times of raging against this evil disease as we all do. But you are loved and admired by all of us
