Starting Radiation October 2019

Kamboka - I'm hoping ebay was just dead because of people getting kids ready to go back to school. I also decided to ship internationally through ebay so I'm hoping that will help sales too. Their new international shipping program seems easy to use. I hope you can narrow your backsplash down. I have decided that I could never build a house from scratch because there would be too many of those decisions to make. :)

mocame, I started using the new international program and have made several sales. The shipping is faster than USPS and cheaper. The packages ship from a central location. I also have tried the AI descriptions on some items. That works pretty well, but I can only do it with my phone and not my PC. Sorry to hear about your BC buddy. My BFF with throat cancer is going to Moffit. It is a long drive, but they have a throat cancer specialist. She will start with 5 days of radiation and one day of chemo for 6 weeks, followed by immune therapy for 7 weeks. It sounds like a long journey for her. She is a woman of faith and that comforts her.
Kamboka, I am going to Lookout Mountain. so Chattanooga, TN and then Blue Ridge, GA. I am starting to work on a wild flower garden on the back of my property. It backs up to the woods. The lady that helps me and I have sprayed weed killer on the proposed area and will plant in about 30 days. Today we are doing some trimming and pulling weeds on what will stay. I don't have a green thumb, but if I am using Florida native plants, it should be just fine.
I started a special old people yoga class and hope that helps my back.

I managed to sell three of my Ebay pieces today. I'm happy but I still am losing money from what I paid for them. I also sold my guest bedroom furniture on Friday. It was a lovely real heavy wood five piece set. Sold way too cheap and now I'm trying to find a replacement within the amount that I have. I can find some nice pieces on FB but the cost for me to hire someone to pick it up and set it up is so high. This is when I miss have a partner with a truck.

Petite1 - One of the people that I got to know when I was going through radiation was a man who had throat cancer. He was telling me that the prognosis of throat cancer was pretty good, but the side effects of the radiation were not fun. Eating during radiation was an issue and he couldn't wait until that was done. I hope you have a good trip. I've never been to TN or that area, but I've heard it's beautiful.
Kamboka - I'm glad you had some sales. I only sold 1 thing over the weekend. I hope the sales continue for you and at profit. Do you have a neighbor or a friend that could help you get the furniture?

petite1: Are you preparing for Idalia? Looks like there will at least be lots of rain and wind. Looks like both of us on on the dirty side. I didn't even know about the hurricane until my sister asked me if I was prepared. I hate to admit that I never watch the local news. I guess ignorance is not always bliss.
mocame: I realize that I'm not the best sales person. I had a lady in her 80s buy some chairs from me. She thought she could only fit one in her car but I was able to get both. She had only brought enough to buy one chair. I let her have both of them for the amount she had. I lost money. That's the same with my Ebay and my yardsales. I am a softy.

Kamboka, Idalia is pretty scary. They have already called for a mandatory evacuation in zone A (I am in C). My friends that live in zone A will be staying with me. The going without power for an extended period of time is problematic. I think Duke energy is already bringing in some extra trucks and people. I will be glad when it is out of here. Praying for the best.

Kamboka and Petite1 - I hope the hurricane is not bad in your area and you stay safe! My parents were supposed to be in Florida right now but my Dad started having sciatic problems in his back and they postponed going for a couple of months. I consider that a blessing. Please keep in touch!
I also heard from my bc friend yesterday and they are calling in Hospice and she said it won't be long. So hard.

mocame: My prayers are with you and your friend as she goes through this transition. I'm glad that she is still able to reach out to you and that you are there for her. I can't even imagine the feelings you both have at this time.
petite1: Glad you are at least in the C zone. They say that Idalia is moving fast so that's a good thing. It looks like JAX is getting more on the fringes and I'm hoping that stays that way.

petite1: Just checking in with you in Tampa. Here in JAX, we've had very little rain and a few gusts but nothing bad at all. We dodged a bullet when Idalia took the turn west. Hope you will have a good report.

My house was fine. My friends live in Crystal River, which was hard hit with flooding. They were about to go home this morning. One had no problems, the other had a mess. Both are elevated homes, but yard and roads a mess. We made the best of it with wine and food. I think we are not in a hurry to do it again. Last time was in 2016.

petite1: Glad to hear that you weather the storm well and got to enjoy some nice social time with your friends. You and me both are hoping that this is a short and uneventful hurricane season going forward. I especially hope the rains stop early since I have my yardsale planned for Columbus day weekend. My mom and her helper are coming and if it rains, I won't have them to help me on another date. I really wanted Veteran's weekend in November but my mom didn't want to travel then.

People are amazing. The clean up and restorations are moving quickly, neighbors helping neighbors. Church groups are out in force. They for the most part, have been through this before.
I can't remember if told you that I have shrunk 2 inches. The cancer center did an x-ray, yesterday. The results have not been posted on my carepage. I hope I don't have compression fractures, but what else can cause a rapid decline in height?

I think FL has the hurricane thing down pat. It's a well oiled system beginning with the communities. It does remind me of the 'good ole days' when neighbors and family took care of each other.
Are you having any pain that would make you think you have had some fractures? Fingers crossed that the report comes back normal. I ended up stopping my AI, again, a few weeks ago. I was almost falling every time I moved. So much better now. I see the MO in two weeks and she will have a hissy fit again.😁

I'm glad you two fared well after the hurricane and people are helping each other. That's awesome!
Petite1 - 2 inches! I'm short already. I couldn't imagine shrinking two more inches. I hope there is another explanation. Do you have osteoporosis?
Kamboka - Be careful going off the AI without going on anything else. I went off Prolia for 2 months because they were afraid that I had an issue with my teeth. That was the longest they will let you go off of it without going on something else. You are at a higher risk of breaking bones without going on something else for a period of time. My back/neck/spine haven't been the same since I had that break. They feel more fragile even though I went back on getting the Prolia shot.

My lower back and hips hurt. I guess I will know more soon enough. I have been 5'2" since I was 12. It is very strange to be 5'0".

Hi, Just checking on you two.

petite1: How did you appointment go? Did you really lose some inches?
I've been in the throws of remodeling and had my dining room painted last week. I am buying a few things off Marketplace and trying to sell others. Tomorrow, I have a handy man coming to install a ceiling fan and mount a TV. I sure wish I was able to do these things as it costs so much money to get someone else to do them. I have some pictures to hang but if he is near his time limit, I'll do them myself. I usually do the pictures but this are very large.
I saw my MO last week and she was very disappointed that I had stopped the AIs again. I promised her I would restart in October. Mayo has some kind of class that she has signed me up for to deal with muscle and joint pain. It's a two day class. I was thinking it was an hour or two but now I will have to miss work. Maybe it can help me. It's free and they provide lunch so I'll go. She also said that my DNA test was only good for six months. It's too expensive to do again unless I have some symptoms.

Hi, Kamboka. Yes, I lost 2 inches. Shrinking is normal, but it was so rapid that I was concerned and I was short enough anyway. I still haven't heard the results from the x-ray. It sounds like you are doing a lot of remodeling. I have finished all that I planned to do, until something comes along and I want to change. I cleared a place to put in a flower garden, but have put anything in there, yet. I am afraid they would not survive the winter, but maybe I will start off with pots that I can relocate when it freezes.

petite1: Instead of losing height, I'm gaining weight!
I'm basically done with remodeling. I'm now changing out some furniture pieces to match the new color scheme. Since all my furniture is from FB Marketplace, I don't feel so bad about changing out. It's just hard to haul the stuff and have to get it out and in the house by myself. My SUV has a huge back section so most things I can get in there. I went to pick up an accent chair today in St. Augustine and found out that it was too low and soft. Wasted a trip so had to start searching again.

Petite1 - I'm glad you don't have any fractures. That is a concern of mine since I am on the AI and get Prolia shots. My back/spine got worse when they put me on a 2 month break from Prolia. It hasn't been the same since, which is frustrating that they made me take that break.
Kamboka - I'm glad you're remodeling is done. That can be a long process. We moved into this house 27 years ago and there are still parts of the house that haven't been remodeled or need remodeled again. LOL.

mocame: Strange that they made you take a break. Usually it's the patient asking for the break and not the other way around. I get the Reclast which is either yearly or every two years. I've past my year so I guess I'm every two years. I'm still on my AI holiday but will restart in mid October since they have me signed up for some two day workshop in November.
I think if you were working from home like me, you'd have more time to think of ways to spend money and redecorate. :) Not that I have all that money but I guess I save some by not having to drive to work and eat lunch out every day.
I had to do a refund today for one of my beautiful Lladros that was broken in transit. They said the wrapping was good but the USPS just smashed the box. I had fragile sticker everywhere but we know how much weight those carry—none! Now I thought I had filed the claim with the USPS online but now I don't see the receipt and I can't sign back in. Sometime technology drives me crazy. Fingers crossed that they will refund me something.

Kamboka, I had that happen with USPS. Did you sell it on ebay? You can pull the shipping receipt from them or PayPal. It takes a long time to get them to pay, but they do.
I am getting ready for my trip. I have 2 cat sitters. They are splitting the days.

petite1: Remind me where you are heading. It's good you have some cat sitters.
Today is a sad day for me and my mom. Our family dog, Haley, is being put down today. My mom has been trying to keep her but she's just so old, can hardly walk and is having more and more incontinence. I'm sure my mom is much sadder than me as Haley has been a great companion over the years. Animals are definitely part of the family. It's very gloomy today so that is not helping. 😥

This is the few from the cabin we rented.

petite1: How pretty! Looks like the weather was cooperating. Did you get down to Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge?
My mom, sister, BIL, and friend came to help me do my yard sale. It started out slow on Friday but at the end of each day it got better. I was so tired from hauling that stuff but happily I got rid of most of my heavy furniture and things. This might be the last sale as it's so much work and people want nice things for a $1. I almost gave stuff away.

Not this trip. Chattanooga and Blue Ridge.
0 -
Petite1 - That's beautiful!
Kamboka - I'm glad you got rid of stuff at your yard sale. I stopped doing yard sales because it's so much work for little money.
My coworker friend who was stage 4 passed away on Saturday. I was away on a well-needed beach vacation with friends. She was only 52. I still cant believe she's gone. She was loved by many.
I've been working hard on my ebay business and sales have been better. They would be even better if the economy wasn't so bad right now but nothing I can do about that. 🙂

Good morning. I awoke to tornado alarms. Poor Crystal River had some significant damage, but no reports of injury. The sheriff was on TV. Everyone in the area should stay home. They closed schools. More reports to come.

mocame: My condolesences to your loss. She was very young and it's always more difficult when they are taken so soon. I'm sure you are glad you had time with her over the last year.
I've stalled with my Ebay sales but have an auction house that might be interested in some of my items. I hope so. Good that your sales are moving.
petite1: We've had rain all day but no major winds so far.

I am not sure what is being reported on the national news, but it is bad in Crystal River. There was an apartment complex that was mostly destroyed. It is a government assisted complex. They said 40 families were homeless, now they are saying 48. Many businesses were damaged or destroyed. There are many single family homes that were in the process of repairing Idalia damage and now are destroyed or missing a roof. There is a neighborhood that had a lot of damage and a park. That is just what has been posted. Some areas, the first responders have not been able to check yet. Trees are down and power lines everywhere. The power companies are working to get it restored. The sheriff said for people to stay off the roads and that is exactly what I am doing.
