Well — we are created in the image, so there is she which I've said for a long, long time now. Just my own personal truth.

Peaceful day for me. I pretty much (save for morning coffee) stayed away from news all day. I also didn't spend much time reading here. I still feel as though much about FG is skimmed and glossed over and certainly not given the wt. it deserves. I have begun to wonder if the media will try to keep it all going up to the election.

That said (though who believes anything he says) FG did say he wouldn't run again 2028. Well, I'm sure even in his partly demented state he knows he won't be around and or viable in any way. He couldn't stand the humiliation of losing twice in a row and then having to run again. It would not be a reasonable thing.

Things do sound really well for the left at present. I hope so, but I've thought it anyway. I guess for the most part I do think there is no REAL choice to be made here. Only the heavy-duty Magats and a few others will be I think depraved enough to vote for someone like FG. I keep hearing about the dislike and distaste that sounds almost rampant in the Reps. party and for the most part I can believe it. The FG has cost those people, over and over and I think they are just as tired of the circus they have become as all of us. That said, I do think many are deserving of getting trounced. Had they all refused when they should to be a party to FG, something decent may have taken place. Too much greed and need for power so they closed their righteous eyes and just went on. No matter how bad things might have been while big adjustments over FG took place, doing nothing has just kept them all stuck in place and now they are living with much late regret.

    Interesting times are ahead.

There is one thing we can do, and the happiest people are those who do it to the limit of their ability. We can be completely present. We can be all here.  We can give all our attention to the opportunity before us.

Oh my gosh, HCR’s newsletter today is filled with so many atrocities by FG and other Republicans:

“In North Carolina, the core members of Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson’s campaign staff resigned yesterday, along with all but three members that staff—two spokespeople and a bodyguard—after the CNN report about Robinson’s offensive writings on a pornography website, including his declaration that he considers himself a “black NAZI,” and that he would like to own slaves. And yet the North Carolina Republican Party is openly defending Robinson. Today the Republican Governors Association announced it was not going to buy any more ad time in North Carolina, a potential disaster for Trump as well as Robinson.

    • Good about the staff resignations, but I cannot believe Republicans are openly defending him. Does this mean he remains on the ballot? How many asshats will cast their vote for him? And see Ruth’s meme above!!!

Then: “MyPillow executive Mike Lindell, a Trump loyalist, is using a neo-Nazi code to advertise his pillows for $14.88, a reference to the fourteen words “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,” and, since “H” is the eighth letter of the alphabet, a reference to “Heil Hitler.”

    • Again, Ruth’s meme!

I’m also sickened by the former first lady talking about how proud she is of her nude photos. Wtf, Melania. So how does the Christian Nationalism movement go along with that? They teach and preach female modesty yet it’s okay for Mrs. FG to brag about naked pictures of herself? (Apparently to try to boost book sales?)

I was glad to read “the editorial board of the Dayton [Ohio] Daily News, which expressed alarm at Vance’s lies about immigration and his evident belief that the ends justify the means. “History, of course, offers no shortage of atrocities committed when the truth is viewed as an inconvenient obstacle in your way,” the board wrote. It called Vance “an embarrassment not only to himself, but to Ohio.”

    • Most definitely Vance is an embarrassment to Ohio.

One more mention I’ll make here: “After Teamsters president Sean O’Brien said the 1.3-million-member organization would not endorse either candidate in 2024, making the Teamsters the only one of the nation’s ten major unions not to endorse Harris, joint councils of the Teamsters have endorsed Harris and Walz on their own. These endorsements matter not only for votes, but also for get-out-the-vote efforts in crucial Midwestern states”.

“Also crucial to Pennsylvania is today’s endorsement of Harris by members of the state’s Polish American community, who expressed concern that Trump would enable Russian president Vladimir Putin to invade Poland. There are 800,000 people of Polish descent in Pennsylvania.”

    • I’m proudly from Polish decent. My father’s mother and father both immigrated from Poland to the U.S. in the early 1900s.

You are a child of the universe, “fearfully and wonderfully made.”  In the history of creation, there has never been anyone like you.  Accept this reality about yourself— that you are a special, unique human being who has a place on this earth that no one else can fill.  Acknowledge yourself as a glorious expression of your loving Creator.  This healthy self-love will form the foundation of a joyful and satisfying life.  Then, as you love and accept yourself, your inner light will shine outward to bless and heal your fellow human beings.

I am so on board with HCR as well Divine. It is amazing that people like Vance and FG are so IN YOUR FACE about their views and the anything goes if we want it approach. Just horrifying in so many ways and just very reinforcing that there are more evil people in sheep's clothing than ever before. It is hard to think about how many years of naivete' are behind me.

It is hard to reconcile that people have secret agenda's, are not wishing you well, and would (so to speak) deport you in a minute — because we are all brothers and sisters in the same world. Where has all the empathy gone with those who set themselves so far apart — especially from goodness and mercy and all that we usually start with — the evaporation level is frightening. It is true that many like the FG with his mental illnesses is truly set apart as many others think someone else is supposed to see to his "errors" and so he just keeps making them in an ever-increasing deluge. It makes him look like a winner to many and people gravitate to those whom they see as winners. Others like him because he is able to thumb his nose just like they want to do — so they get in line behind him.

It does seem like so many more right now are seeing this and choosing to go the other way, I so hope this does result in our having a President Kamala Harris come November

Also, I think of note and on the way here, I did read that as usual the media is soft pedaling the things FG is saying and doing which are hideous. It has a term which is called SANE WASHING of the things said at rallies and FG Truth Social. The media is not calling FG what he is — a man riddled with dementia and saying and doing crazy things every day. They are trying to keep him and the myth alive thru the election. It may be close or it may be a blowout which sounds a lot more possible, but we are not really going to know because it is not profitable for the media to be honest right now. SIGH !!!!

Jackie, thanks for the terminology, “sane washing.” That sounds exactly right. And the media is most definitely doing this, soft pedaling the enormous amount of utter b.s. spewing from the mouths of both Republican candidates.
