Thanks Jackie. Good news about Devine. I sent her a PM, but not sure how often she'll check.

I won't ever get to "acceptance"!

In a noisy world, seek the silence in your heart. And through the power of silence, the energies of chaos will be brought back to harmony--not by you, but through you, as all miracles are. When we visit this silence regularly, particularly in the morning, then the days of our lives become lit from above. Darkness and fear are cast from our midst, slowly at first, one moment at a time. Ultimately, all darkness will be gone from every heart. -Marianne Williamson

Taco — I don't think many I know will accept either. I have done some reading this a.m. Many questions. I won't say rigged necessarily (no proof I know of), but I do find it odd that 15 MILLION Democrats only it sounds like stayed home, while no Reps. did.
All that enthusiasm we saw that seemed to have vanished on election day. I've heard reasons, but still 15 million is so many. I also recall FG and Johnson with their "secret". There was a goofy explanation later, but it was a nonsense sounding one — so something to continue to mull over.
Also mentioned was that the gloater-in-chief has seemingly been oddly missing from the scene since his rather lackluster acceptance speech on Wednesday. Is he not 'pepped' up on something to get through 'appearances'. Have hid handlers stuffed him away so he doesn't goof up.
More questions than answers and lots of time to think. I'm slowly trying to accept — hard to think about another four nightmare years with mostly un-checked Reps. plus FG no matter how "off" he is. Still, I wonder just how long FG will be left at the top. He is not of much use to the Reps. One of them even tried to shoot him. Were I FG as I mentioned before, I think my head would be perpetually turned over my shoulder. He has gotten the Reps, the power THEY wanted. So, I do wonder how long he will last. Yet, there is no other with any ability to take his place in the succession line up.
Scary, but in some ways interesting times ahead. It has lots of pain attached, but I'm still here for a reason it seems and as long as I have breath, I will have resistance, not acceptance and hope even if tinged with some despair. As long as my chest is moving in and out, I'm in the fight.
I don't think things are going to come all that easy for the other side. Easier than I wish, but lots of the Reps. don't really 'like' 2025 or FG. Who knows for sure when or where some brakes may be applied. Not sure how well they would hold, and they likely won't in the end that much — but I'll enjoy every discomfort and slow-down that may be produced — every ounce of sweat on the brow of those who have my suppression on their mind. I didn't think you'd make it, and I'm not sure you will right now either. It may not be a walk in the park you are trying to take away from me. There will be issues.

Jack Smith did a great job and this has to be now whether we like it or not. He was called in late and did the best he could with what he had. While I wanted to be fair to Merrick Garland — he was a real foot dragger and had he acted as swiftly as he did for many of the J-6 people — FG would have been in jail when he should have been. Now he is going to turn all the lunatics who helped his J-6 day loose. Going to be hard to forgive Garland.

How many times do we need to explain this concept to people? We have a two party system. That is NOT going to change until we get rid of the electoral college. Not voting is a vote for Republicans. Voting 3rd party is a vote for Republicans. Your protest vote only helps Republicans win elections. Destroying the country is not the best way to get people on your side. Those who didn't vote are responsible for everything that happens going forward. –mk

So glad he decided to become a Republican and left the Democrats. At least we have that to be thankful for.

Everyone should start keeping a diary, so when this is all over, they can find it in your attic and use it to teach kids in school about what happened to America.
Americans in particular do often seem to have very short memories.

So very true and now he's going to be behaving like that again, but this time from full-blown dementia. Hang on.

Did you really mean to do this to your child — probably too late now. Old too soon, smart too late. Does that fit you ???

You just don't know it yet ??

Hmmm, how about Elon Mush — yes, I did say Mush, Melania McGillicuddy and her dad. Will you be deporting them to. Doesn't matter how their papers read — many of the others you talk about have papers too. I think you should start with Mush and McGillicuddy.

This has happened so damn often. The Democrats inherit a huge Reps. mess that they fix. Then the Reps. take over and claim all the good — they they destroy it again. How many cycles of this we have been through and now again, but much worse.

I think one thing we need to keep in mind is that my analysis of every poster on this forum is that they are RESILIENT! Not using capitalization for anger but a rally call to remember that we have all faced cancer, had somewhat barbaric treatment in some instances and managed to regain a new but somewhat "normal" life even if it is not the one we planned. Think of him as a boil on your butt and we all know that it can be treated with good results.
The next 4 years promise a challenge that we do not want to face but as long as we care about each other and others, we will come out ahead of whatever he dishes out. We need to stay engaged and current. I think what we exchange on here is a non-professional but meaningful form of mental health therapy. We allow ourselves to vent frustrations and doubts without being judgmental and offer solace to one another as needed.
I am thankful for this forum and for the women I have met here. That's what is going to keep me sane. How about you?

Illinoislady, btw have someone buy your DH headphones so you do not have to listen to his news stations in the background. I had DD buy them for my DH because he listens to the strangest programs on Youtube and they always seem to have narrators that have monotonous tones of voice and bad scripts. So if he wants to listen to them in the family room, it is head phones on or go use the TV in the basement.
