I think I may have been punk'd when it comes to the photo I saw on Twitter of Trump and a supporter--it may have been Photoshopped to remove the jowls, make his teeth more prominent in his face and place the MAGA hat lower on his head. Recent (as in the past couple of days) video surfaced of a still-spare-tired (more like "monster-truck-spare") Trump wearing a white polo that bears the logo of one of his golf courses, and a MAGA hat that appears to fit the same way as it always did. He was addressing an adoring crowd boasting of all the work he did in the WH on behalf of dogs (other than the political ones on his lap). There was a still of him in the lobby of Mar-a-Lago, and he did look very, very slightly thinner, albeit with his belt pulled up to the "high water mark." I have to figure out where that Twitter pic, shared by a usually credible real-life friend, originated; and shame on me--it is definitely an object lesson to take nothing you see on social media seriously. It has to be verified and on mainstream media (or in rare opportunities, witnessed in person); otherwise it's suspect.

Fat or skinny, real or faked, he still looks like the crap he is.

We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that
deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of
our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in
ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous
delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.

Sandy, maybe so. I looked all over for pictures or verbiage about Trump and turned up nothing of any hint of a bad condition. You are so right though -- his personality, mental proclivities ( all bad ) are all in play all the time no matter whether he is bodily larger or smaller. I think it would be too soon likely for his condition to chance drastically since it is only a couple months since we were rid of him. I think the habits he has ( huge junk food consumer ) will not change and he would have to be seriously ill ( he is of course, mentally ) to decrease in size much as long as he facies junk food.

There aren’t any adjectives left to describe the stupidity of Trumpers. I will say this, I have always thought that the same people who refuse to wear masks are probably the same ones who do not wash their hands after using a public restroom.

Republicans. Nothing to do but make up stupid conspiracies or try the old " they " are going to take something away from you. I might say the party on the right knows a lot about that since it seems they are the ones who most indulge in that behavior -- to the point of not even bringing bills to the floor for four yrs. And guns -- since they and the NRA have made sure the U.S. and its citizens have all the guns they can use and then some are quick to use that talking point. They are a very tiresome and idiotic group and since Trump have just lost any sense of reason and brazenly trample on everyone and everything.

Divine: They really are stupid. Trump gave them the model and they really went for it. It is amazing. I've thought for yrs. the Reps. party would not last, but it just may happen this time. They have a number of people that shouldn't be anywhere near the government, but there they are acting like they are perfect specimens. Just beyond belief. There again, it seems -- they watched Trump get away with so much but they were his best enablers. Who do they think is now enabling them to be able to copy his style.

They are all in a big plane with I think a really short runway not knowing the plane can't get off the ground that way. Hmnm, going to be interesting later.

DH and I have apparently gone crazy because it looks like we are going to accidentally adopt a dog. DS's girlfriend works at the Humane Society. Sunday someone surrendered a very, very scared 4 month old puppy. She didn't want to leave him there overnight all alone so she brought him home, eventually to DSs, from there to our house for 'just a few days'......but, alas, we have rather fallen in love.

He has keepers in you and you to him. What a perfect arrangement, Ruth. Seemed like a quick bonding and I think it was meant to be. Live dangerously and go with it says an animal lover who rescues far too often. I have a new baby coming soon from the lady I work for out at the farm. She had kittens ( 6 mos. old now at least ) and they all got sick. This little one crawled out on the path ( barely able to move ) that she uses when she goes and feeds. It was the sickest one. She thought it was a desperate cry for help so she took it inside her house and nursed it back to fantastic health. It could no longer move when she picked it up off the frozen and snowy ground. She took it to the vet -- got it neutered and its shots when it was well enough to go. She is still amazed and surprised it lived. She named him Lucky. I take animals others won't. Lucky likely had frostbitten feet. He doesn't walk properly ( waddles a lot ) so I will bring him home and hopefully finish taming him. He was very feral. He likely won't ever make a great pet, but I'll feel just the same about him as if he were.

    Ruth,

He is too cute! And a fortunate lad to be adopted by you. One look at that face and I’m sure you were hooked 💗. I am rather jealous as I’ve been without dogs for almost 2 years. I plan on adopting after I retire. I can’t sub for 6 months so I can devote that time to a new dog. I’m looking for a young dog and I promised my 9 year old granddaughter that she could help me find the perfect pet! My main requirement is that she/he be good with children as I know the younger two grands love dogs too. What is his name? Give that cutie a good belly rub for me!

The story on the puppy is that the young guy who surrendered him thought he could sneak a dog into a 'no pets allowed' apartment. I think the guy was good to the dog because he can already sit, shake, walk on a leash etc. is pretty well potty trained too (as long as we keep track of the time). His name was Sweet Pea, his Humane Society name is Ollie. I knew when we started to talk about names we might like, that we were hooked (what that name will be is still under discussion....feel free to make suggestions!) DS (who has 2 big dogs) has assured us that he'd be glad to take the dog wherever we go traveling, which we for sure will want to do when it's safe. I guess you never know what adventures might be around the corner!

Ruth I am so happy you are keeping this puppy and giving him all the love and security he needs. He is precious!!!!

I rarely say it, but I just love all the memes and quotes you guys post. They are funny and insightful and I appreciate that you take the time to post.

Today is vaccine day for me!!! It is at a mass vaccine drive thru site an hour from my house. I am so excited I couldn't sleep last night. Please cross your fingers it happens. It just seems unreal and until the needle is in my arm I won't believe it. It should be Pfizer or Moderna.

Also tomorrow my area is at very high risk for tornadoes and severe weather.

One more....this week is one year since my breast cancer diagnosis. Specifically today marks one year that the radiologist walked into the room after my diagnostic mammo and u/s and told me she was certain that the tumor they found was cancerous. My state was in the process of shutting down due to Covid. The pandemic quickly became background noise as cancer became my world yet Covid dictated my choices. It seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago. How ironic that, if all goes as planned, exactly one year later I will be vaccinated for Covid.

It's ironic, but good too. The vaccine will allow you to step away from the whole last wretched year and into better times! I get Moderna #2 tomorrow!!

cm, you have had one hell of a year! My goodness. Hopefully, your getting the vaccine today marks the beginning of a better year ahead for you.

Ohio will be opening up the vaccine to everyone age 16 and up on March 29. My son, in his mid 20s, is in PA and they are still on the phase for age 65 and up. He is so ready to get the vaccine, but for some reason, PA has been sluggish on the vaccine effort. I'm hoping they can get it in gear and ramp it up.

I saw a CNN headline that the former guy was on Fox news and publicly recommended people get the vaccine. Not sure if that will even influence anyone who already has their mind made up not to get it.

I think the Maga folks are super pissed that Biden's mass vaccine roll-out is so successful and makes him and the Dems look very effective and competent, so they are refusing the vaccine to make it look like its unnecessary and insignificant. Total dicks. The former guy's approach fucked up so many things.

DivineMrsM: You are correct that PA has been sluggish and for those of us who are eligible 1A tier, but live in one of the collar counties to Philadelphia, it has been torture. We have had almost no vaccine to distribute or administer for our very populous county while less populous counties have received tons of vaccine. My husband finally got a call on Monday and was able to receive his first dose of Pfizer on Tuesday. I got an email yesterday about an appointment and will receive my first dose of Pfizer tomorrow. BTW we both use the same health system that he was offered his vaccine from, but I was never notified by them. I also use physician's at another system and that is the one who contacted me. We were enrolled in at least 4 different sites for access prior to this. It has been hellish trying to get the vaccine and being high risk I can tell you I have been nowhere for ages including the grocery store. I will have to hold my immunosuppressant this week according to my rheumatologist and then again after dose 2. Small price to pay for having a better sense of security.

Ruthbru: Cute puppy and he looks like he could be part Dalmatian? Domino, as a name? Love the huge patch on his eye. We have a liver and white female Dal named Lita. She has lots of spots and one very large spot on her back right at the base of her tail. It is her favorite scratch spot. We got her at 2 1/2 months and she was completely potty trained in a week. She's 12 now and still has her puppy moments when she does zoomies. Do you remember the child's book about the Pokey puppy? I think it had one large spot over its eye. Enjoy him.

Betrayal, we'll be getting shots at the same time! The puppy (still to be named) is part German short-hair pointer and part pit (since we are fostering to adopt the Humane Society is still taking care of the shots etc. they talked to his vet yesterday & his parents belonged to a lady who had an appointment to get them both fixed; but by then, the deed was done. Apparently his mother (the pit) is a very sweet dog. I can see zero aggressive traits in him. He is taking a little nap by my side as I type.
