May God grant you always...
A sunbeam to warm you,
a moonbeam to charm you,
a sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you.
Laughter to you.
Faithful friends near you.
And whenever you pray,
Heaven to hear you.

Another great picture Ruth ( he's very photogenic ) of your puppy. He looks like a Barkley to me, but then I've never won prizes for animal names.
Congrats to all getting their shots. It is such a great feeling to feel relatively safe. I worried about people who don't or won't wear masks and also some of the people in my family that I thought were not ( such good Reps. ) taking covid it seemed very seriously.
I think the other guy is feeling some of what I think is a real possible obscurity. I think the suffering is great that he can't just tweet out some ignoramus thing when the mood strikes. I can just imagine the abuse that would have been heaped on Pres. Biden if he could have been moving all those chubby short fingers over the tweet keyboard. As is I guess he called into Fox ( to his favorite swoontang Ms. Bartiromo ) to whine that it was due to him that we have the covid vaccines. Personally -- I think that is fake news. Pfizer got us that vaccine and didn't even take any government money to do it. Must be difficult to be out of touch, out of step and out of tune. Difficult to whine now to try and keep from thinking how many lawsuits are piling up and how close some seem to be getting.

YAY!!!!!!!!! First dose Pfizer done! In another twist of fate, I go back on April 6th for the second dose. It will be exactly one year to the date that I had my lumpectomy. I do appreciate how the vaccine doses are replacing those dark days a year ago. The mass vaccine site was so well organized and moved quickly. EMTs were giving the vaccine, everyone was friendly. I have to say that it quite something to experience a mass vaccine event. There is almost something other-worldly about it. I teared up when she gave it to me, it is such a privilege and relief to being on my way to being better protected from this vile virus.
Congratulations to those of you also getting them soon. Now I will turn my attention to getting my 16 year old vaccinated. Technically her group isn't open yet though.

I have been feeling like absolute hell for the past few days. Headache, nausea, achy all over, no cough but horrible sniffles, chills and hot flashes. Can't get a testing appointment until Friday, but that's the breaks when you live in a small, remote community. Can't imagine where I got it, since I'm pretty much a homebody during normal times and I rarely venture out these days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

pingpong,
This is a strange thing to say but I hope you just have a bad cold or the flu! Take care.

Pingpong, colds are on the rise here. Hope that's all it is. Can you still smell & taste? If so, bet that's what you have.
Gordy got his first shot (Pfizer) today. Though he's in group 1B+ (due to asthma), which the city won't start till 3/22, the health commissioner advises vaccinators to offer appts. to 1B+ if there are shots about to go to waste. UI Health notified him (through the Chi. Covid Coach app) that there was Pfizer available today at the UIC Pavilion (site of his college graduation), so Leslie drove him dow and waited in the car. Second shot will be 4/7. Originally, the city had rolled 1B+ into 1C and hadn't planned to start till 3/29, but decided to give those with preexisting conditions a head start. (Downstate has already been doing that for a couple of weeks). Today they announced 1C will include personal-care service workers, including nail techs, so I messaged the salon where I just got my mani-pedi.
Big scandal here is that the COO of Loretto Hospital--in the poorest, hardest-hit part of the West Side, where there's still a low rate of vaccinations--had the employees of Trump Tower (where he owns a condo and is buddies with you-know-who) secretly vaccinated on 3/10. His reasoning was that the employees were mostly POC and dealt with national & int'l travelers. But all the workers--most of them under 65 and healthy, many white and white-collar--were offered the vaccine. At one point he Instagrammed a selfie of him with Eric T., who happened to be at the hotel that day, with the caption "I just vaccinated Eric Trump!" After the expected and justified outcry, he's now walking that back, saying he was only joking. Yeah, right.

I don't think magas will think biden and dems are doing great job. They are too attached at the rump with trump. I heard 50% trumpanzees aren't going to get vaccinated.

Well they all deserve each other and this group too who wouldn't vote for medals because of the terminology used. Hmmm, maybe something is up although at the same time they are all being as stupid as a big bucket of mud.

Twelve House Republicans voted against awarding congressional gold medals to the Capitol Police because they didn't like the terrorist attack being called an insurrection.

Is it just me, or does Matt Gaetz look like Beavis (or is it Butthead)?
Trump came out and literally said "Take the vaccine. It's a good vaccine. Take it." (He stopped short of claiming he made it).

That's good. I think Dolly Parton did more than Trump.

I did learn a couple new things here.
I do know that after travel was halted for the pandemic and had been quiet for awhile, my car Ins. Co., sent me reduced bills since everyone who used the insurance had drastically cut their mileage. We all enjoyed lowered preminiums.

Just sitting in my car at Dodger stadium waiting for my first Covid19 shot. I qualify as a cancer patient, but we're going to see if they'll give my husband a vaccine as well. Fingers crossed. This site is huge! When they say a mass inoculation they aren't kidding.

Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.

Trishla, fingers crossed that your car got two shots. We are at full immunity now so I'm feeling good about that. Now the only worry is that I don't give it to someone else ( if I manage to pick it up somewhere ) because NO one needs to go through it. I will be keeping a mask on at all times till I hear the all clear, or until the ladies whose homes I go into have their shots and immunity.
As for the current news it seems Mitch McConnell is making noises about the havoc he will reap on us if he does not like what we do. He, I think for sure hates the "For the People" act and there are other things as well -- like doing something to the filibuster. I think it is going to have to be if not totally gone, left in a really toothless state. The Reps. are not going to do anything to help give people what they need.
Silly me, as I see that as highly noticed by those who have prayed and waited ( oh, so reluctantly ) to get rid of the other orange guy and doing nothing just doesn't seem much of a plan to me. Along with the fact that 'news' of Reps. wrongdoing and lies keeps finding its way out and then there will be more of that as prosecutors line up on Trump and those who provided massive help to him. It appears to me not to be a time ripe for McConnell to be making threats about what will befall our party. That said, we do have to watch our p's and q's, but I think overall we should be fine. I do believe many people are liking having a straightforward president who isn't whining all the time nor tweeting all the time. Nor governing by tweet. Also nothing is being hurt by having the daily press briefings back.

Got my first Pfizer Covid vaccine yesterday and my DH got his first on Tuesday at another healthcare system. So round one done and we are both scheduled for dose 2 in 3 weeks. Met a physician that used to be at the hospital where I took my students for clinical experience. Recognized his face (even with the mask) but the scrubs he was wearing threw me for a loop because I had always seen him in lab coat, shirt and tie. He was monitoring the people in the post-adm wait area so I got a chance to talk to him.
As far as Moscow Mitch being demoted to minority leader did not change what he perceives his role is. He is and has always been an obstructionist. Time to rethink the filibuster or Biden will never get to achieve his agenda. The Repugnicans will do what they can to make sure they continue to suppress voters, ensure the poor remain poor and oppressed, the rich pay no taxes and the middle class is squeezed by taxation. They support "white supremacy" and are immovable when it comes to any social reform that would benefit all and not just the white, rich folks. Let them try to live on $7.25 an hour, put a roof over their heads, feed and clothe children, and have savings for a rainy day with this paltry income. He infuriates me with his lack of compassion and dogged ignorance.
