ruth,
The resemblance is remarkable, isn’t it 😂? Happy 4th of July ! I’m hanging out with younger dd, SIL and my two younger grandchildren. I have planned to have the kids, 3 and 5 , make dessert with me. We’ll do a classic layering of cake, blueberries, strawberries, and whipped cream in clear cups. A red, white, and blue dessert! They both enjoying “cooking”.
I hope everyone enjoys a relaxing holiday weekend

Great photo Divine.
Genealogy provides us with a connection to our past ancestors that makes us appreciate them as a person rather than just a name. GGF was a major (battlefield promotion) for the PA Calvary during the Civil War. He and his brother fought in major battles and survived to become members of the GAR. Still unable to find his parents and birthplace other than the state but keep plugging hoping I will.
The parakeets got a new home yesterday and have definitely moved on up to a penthouse in the sky. The cage is 36 onches high but they still tend to congregate towards the top. The single parakeet got moved to their old cage with some new toys and he is happy as well. I took a photo of the one baby sleeping on the basketball toy in the old cage. It has draped itself acroos the bar holding the ball and using the back as support. Never seen any of them do this before.
Have a happy and safe 4th all.

Happiness is a sunbeam which may pass through a thousand bosoms without losing a particle of its original ray; nay, when it strikes a kindred heart, like the converged light upon a mirror, it reflects itself with redoubled brightness. It is not perfected till it is shared. -Jane Porter

As always, loving seeing the birds and hope they enjoy their new digs. Going to be a quiet day today -- just starting on some work I've had to put off for some time. Seems there is always something. I hope you all enjoy the holiday.

It has been a long, long haul. We knew yrs. ago the likes of Trump and minions deserved locking up.

Actually, I think this is true. Who is it that could get the traction needed right now. Cruz, Rubio, and most of the others are seriously bent on boot licking to keep the Trump voters. I read Chris Christie may try and run, but I agree with the author who said he has too much Bridge gate to navigate. He is a once was possible, but now with Bridge Gate and the Trump adoration for a time, a hangar-on who won't get far. He is trying to stay 'political' but he stepped too far over the edge and I think he is done.
Trump I think won't be available in 2024, but he remains wanting to retain what he can of his former notoriety and is wasting time and ruining things still for other Reps. with everything he is doing. I guess he thinks if he can ignore enough of is current issues ( company and Weisselberg indictments ) he himself won't be actually touched. I do think as was said -- this is the tip of the iceberg and will dry up funds so that Trump can't do a lot of his old playbook, by getting new sets of lawyers allowing him to stall off proceedings against him. Probably we will all look back and say at some time -- how perfect to go after the Trump money right away.

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.

I read on the way here that of course, the orange thing is minimizing Trump Org. and Weisselberg and just the left ( of course, it's political he says ) hitting on some sm. thing like some fringe benefits and making it all no big deal. At the same time his lawyer Alan Futerfas is complaining that this could have and should have been handled in secret negotiations and it is only political as to why its not.
As most know, it is a BIG deal and will likely grow a lot as this is just the opening of catching con man criminals and making them pay. The fact that they aren't run of the mill con-men is by the way.

We do seemed to have reached the point where the media doesn't flock ( someone is assigned ) to wherever the orange one goes to record every gesture and word and replay it for hours on end. Orange obscurity happened fairly quickly and it is amusing to me that he thinks he is still in the game. I don't ( media toying with scenarios ) know if it will be jail or dementia that makes it difficult ( maybe impossible ) for him to have any part in 2024. Still he has to try to keep milking the sheep for what he can get from them til' then.

Saw something said && raised in Sarasota would go to the condo collapse people. Yeah right. Straight to his pocket. DeathSantis didn’t go, didn’t want to be seen with him, better optics to stay in Miami.

I have a subscription that allows me access to NYT crossword puzzles back 25 years. Right now I'm doing one from July 2011 and I kid you not, one of the clues is "a dodger might cook one." The answer is "tax return." How timely.

Hello everyone.....Long time no see. Just wanted to jump in and see what was going on. Love all the trump memes....God how I hate that thing.

It has been a very long time and how nice to see you. The orange thing makes himself so easy to hate. I find it interesting to a large degree that he is such a damaged person that he has no idea that he perpetuates all the hate, disdain and mockery he comes by and other than seeking vengeance on those who give him what he is asking for, he is unaware that he has always been his worst enemy. Of course, until he cheated his way into the WH most people, rather than making him pay for his wrongs just put themselves out of his reach. Not going to happen now and I can't wait.

The sort of crap you get from brain damaged humans in a cult.

Don't know when this picture was taken, but boy does the whole bunch look about as glum as it is possible to be. Studiously avoiding looking into the camera with the downcast faces.
GREAT words by John Adams.
