Well there is no end to political surprises but today Oprah threw her support to John Fetterman and not that con man Oz that she actually helped achieve evildom. If not for her influence he would not have been able to bilk people with snakeoil promises for weight loss, and other health care shams and scams. There are ads running now touting her support so keep your fingers crossed that Fetterman can pull this off. It would be so refreshing to have 2 Senators that actually speak for their constituency after that rat Toomey only responded to party wishes. Glad he will be gone.

Make it a rule of life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an appalling waste of energy; you can't build on it; it's only good for wallowing in.

Betrayal, that was a bit of a surprise for Oprah to dump Oz. I'm thrilled that she did as well and do hope her endorsement and vote will go far in helping Fetterman. It's heavy-duty in the news today and tonight. She gave Oz the nod a long time ago, and it is obvious that he made her a steppingstone. Were I her, I would not like someone of such dubious quality to be able to trace back to my stardom whatsoever. Good for her.
Also cardplayer. I'm absolutely cackling over Santiago Mayer doing in the elonmusk account at Twitter. Totally hilarious. Another Reps. to hate in Musk. Then again, he was never going to be much in my eyes anyway.

This guy is very late with his endorsement, and it should be splattered everywhere.

I heard about Oprah's endorsement of Fetterman. Tomorrow, he and Obama will be campaigning in Pittsburgh at Shenley Park. When I texted ds about it, he said, “I know! I signed up to go!" The weather's gonna be beautiful. I'm so proud of my son.
Speaking of ds, he graduated from a private university five years ago. His tuition was partly paid with scholarships, he had a terrific paid internship for three years which helped pay some of the cost and dh and I paid about a third if it.. So his loans were kept to a minimum and he doesn't have much left to pay back. Plus now he's got a great job and makes too much money to qualify for the student loan forgiveness plan! I am wholeheartedly for the plan, even tho it's not something my son will benefit from. I don't get the naysayers of the plan……
Love the memes!!!!!!!

Your memes are great too, Divine. Compliments to your son doing so well (although wisely you and he figured out how to keep him from paying for life) that he doesn't qualify for student loan help plan. The thought comes to mind -- you know you did something right when, where your son and school loans are concerned. I'm sure a lot of people were not able to do as well as you and your sons' outcome where school loans are concerned but geez, I'm all for some loan forgiveness, these young people are going to be taking over from us and why load them up with burdens before they ever get their first paycheck. I would like to see them encouraged to go as far as possible. The world only gets more complicated, and we need don't need discouraged young people who may be choosing not to get further educations.
By the way -- I adore Willie Nelson.

Jackie, I tried logging in with Chrome, but your memes from pp. 1601 through 1605 are coming through as text, preceded by a little blue photo icon. The ones here with Safari come up as blank white squares outlined in black, with a little white-on-blue "?" icon. This doesn't seem to be happening with anyone else's memes. It might be a function of the Apple ecosystem, as it occurs when I'm using my iPad as well as my (default) MacBookPro, circa 2017. I don't use my phone to browse this site.

I still have never had any problems with Jackie's memes. They are great!!!

I'm so sorry Sandy. It does seem to be tied to your equipment. Maybe one of these days some of it will update and your ability to get my memes will come back. I am electronically challenged and am a blank when it comes to computer adjustments. I think I was likely getting on the mods nerves more than a few times when I had issues. I keep my fingers crossed every time I use my computer. Here's hoping.

Measure wealth not by the things which you have, but by
the things you have for which you would not take money.

Ruth -- great meme and I couldn't agree more. If the Democrats don't get out the vote this time, we may not have to next time. I'm hearing that this election may have the power to help the media gets its act together. They have been using the Reps. for ratings, but that is an inaccurate way to present news since it isn't really the truth or is the truth but shaded heavily to benefit the Reps.
I keep hoping but and there are signs like such high numbers on early and mail-in voting. Then you hear how close some of these races are going to be. Well, that I do believe. It would seem to me that both R's and D's have been given good reasons to be enthusiastic about voting. In the end though, I do hope and think Roe v Wade got women mainly pushing with all their mite. I hope it is enough. Is it possible to hold your breath for a few days because I feel like I am. It is not just whether we maintain our positions, but what could happen after the elections and counting are done. I'm also nervous about violence and upset over outcomes.
