Is anyone else having trouble getting into this thread. When I tried through My Favorite Topics, it came up 'page not found'. I had to go to All Topics and type the thread's name in to get here (it was doing the same thing yesterday too).

Ruth,
Something has been a bit off with this thread since the update debuted. In my bookmarks list, the title of the thread is never highlighted to indicate unread posts and the date of last post is frozen at April 23 (the date of the change), though the name of the last to post is accurate. I submitted a ticket on this weeks ago and submitted one again today. Mods think that the hidden nature of this thread has something to do with it but it worked fine previously so am surprised that they can’t get it to work correctly on this improved bco. BTW, my bookmark count shows I have 63 bookmarks! Of course, I don’t nor have I ever had that many. Again, reported weeks ago, no resolution so I reported it again today. Nothing critical, just annoying.

I’m getting that too Ruth intermittently. My solution is to access the topic via bookmarks. I sign on and off frequently. Can’t identify a pattern or reason it happens. Doesn’t happen with other topics though.

Well, I just got in fine on my phone. Once I post, I will go back to my laptop & see if I can get here from it. Sigh......

Now I DID get in on my laptop too….

The last couple days, when I have a notification on the bell on the upper right corner of the page that there are new post on this thread, and I click it open and click on the little red dot, this comes up:
So I have to open up the bookmarks, scroll down and find the thread.

I only just go to bookmarks and choose the one I want and so far, (knocking on wood furiously) it has taken me to the un-read post. I have other issues which are annoying, but not hard to overcome at all.
I get a duplicate posting at the end — and no way to adjust it out. I generally have to go ahead and post it and then it will have the little delete box added at the top so I can do away with it. Then I can post what I actually came there to post all along.

There is only one thing about which I shall have no regrets when my life ends. I have savored to the full all the small, daily joys. The bright sunshine on the breakfast table; the smell of the air at dusk; the sound of the clock ticking; the light rains that start gently after midnight; the hour when the family come home; Sunday-evening tea before the fire! I have never missed one moment of beauty, not even taken it for granted. Spring, summer, autumn, or winter. I wish I had failed as little in other ways. -Agnes Sligh Turnbull

Love the memes. Makes my day brighter to read that others say what I have been thinking or wish I had thought of. Less guilt association that way but then I never feel guilty about trashing deplorable repugnicans. LOL.

I thought about not re-sizing this, but went ahead.

Is This Trump’s Dumbest Social Media Post Yet?

Former President Donald Trump came close to out-doing his long legacy of questionable social media posts on Tuesday when he compared his own plight to Dominion Voting Systems, the company that sued Fox News for defamation and won a $787.5 million settlement.
In a Truth Social post parading a staggering ignorance of U.S. legal system, Trump mused: “So Dominion gets almost a Billion Dollars and I, after years of Fake News, Hoaxes, Scams, and Investigations, am entitled to NOTHING? Is that really the way it’s supposed to work? I don’t think so!”

Future historians will likely debate this for decades to come, but having studied and written about Trump’s social media musings for years, I would like to personally submit this entry as the dumbest social media post Trump has published in years.
To be clear, Dominion sued Fox News for defamation. Fox settled with Dominion, paying the company nearly a billion dollars, to avoid a trial. It’s all very simple.
Trump can sue whomever he likes for defamation. Whether he wins would presumably depend on whether he was actually defamed. But he is not “entitled” to any sort of payout over what he sees as his mistreatment over the years.
There is no comparison between Dominion’s defamation case against Fox News and Trump’s relentless victimhood complex. The former centered around a bevy of false claims made by a news organization about a private company. The latter is just Trump whining. Not to mention that the largest purveyor of fake news is Trump himself.
The question before us, with regards to this post, is whether Trump is truly dumb enough not to understand how defamation laws in America work. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he does — and assume his comment “Is that really the way it’s supposed to work?” is rhetorical whining and not genuine confusion.
If that’s the case, then Trump most think his fans are so spectacularly stupid that they believe he is truly entitled to a large amount of money — from some entity — because of vague claims to being a victim.
So, to answer our headline, I would say yes. This is Trump’s dumbest social media post yet! Print the Truth Social post and maybe frame it for posterity, for we are living in a Golden Age of moronic political commentary. Embrace this historic moment!

Not sure why but there is way less of the Loon in my newsfeed today. It is something of a relief. I began to wonder though if it had anything to do with the fact that there has been a bit of push back on whether the Loon should run. It has been said that he is past his time now.
Anyway, I know he is past his time because he never really had "a time" save for Putin giving him massive help very especially through social media. That and the great Benghazi group of troublemakers on the Reps. side.
The loon is always bound to see himself as 'entitled'. How he thinks someone else's defamation suit includes him when he was never named as such, who knows. He just thinks of himself as due anything that enriches, and especially if it is the pocketbook. He doesn't think about if it were HATE he is likely one of the richest men alive today.
Interesting — no matter how he got to the WH (biggest mistake ever made) he is nothing but a whiney bully who never played by the rules and never will. I do think it will be interesting to watch since he had been told now to zip it up — even having to go and be schooled in the decorum of being either a defendant or a convicted defendant since he is to likely have another round with E. J. Carroll.
