Trump is one of the few people that do not surprise me saying something like this:

Image may contain: text that says 'Middle Age Riot @middleageriot Donald Trump: "[COVID-19] affects virtually nobody." 200,000 nobodies might disagree, if they were alive.'

Other people have the ability to critique themselves for things they say and they know almost instantly they have misspoken or inserted words in a bad place in their sentence that changed the meaning too much. They correct themselves. I'm convinced that Drumph sees himself as perfect and therefore has no need to "listen" as he speaks for possible corrections. Only someone highly imbalanced mentally could say what he does and move on without missing a beat.

How nice it must be to have that ability, but that also means that you can't see yourself thru someone else's eyes. If he could do that I think he would have evaporated for the shock long ago, but ALAS, he is still here.

Will all the Trumps go? This would be acceptable. Along with asset forfeiture.

Does Russia have extradition agreement with us? Wouldn’t be real surprised if that really did happen with NY going after him. Ah well, we can dream. Wonder how he likes playing golf in snow🤣🤣🤣🤣

No extradition agreement. That's why Snowden is hiding out there. Maybe he can play golf. The Siberian tundra is melting.

    And from Medscape:

Most N95 Masks Imported From China Fail to Meet US Standards

Up to 70% of KN95 masks, which are certified in China, do not meet US standards for effectiveness, the nonprofit patient safety organization ECRI warned today in a high-priority hazard alert.

"Because of the dire situation, US hospitals bought hundreds of thousands of masks produced in China over the past six months, and we're finding that many aren't safe and effective against the spread of COVID-19," Marcus Schabacker, MD, PhD, ECRI president and CEO, said in a statement.

ECRI quality assurance researchers rigorously tested nearly 200 N95-style masks, reflecting 15 different manufacturer models purchased by some of the largest health systems in the United States.

They found that for 60% to 70% of the imported masks that had not been certified by the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), filtration performance was "significantly inferior" to NIOSH-certified N95s. These masks did not filter 95% of aerosol particulates, contrary to what their name suggests.

"Using masks that don't meet US standards puts patients and frontline healthcare workers at risk of infection. As ECRI research shows, we strongly recommend that healthcare providers going forward do more due diligence before purchasing masks that aren't made or certified in America," Schabacker said.

According to ECRI, US domestic production capacity for N95s has increased significantly, but there remain widespread limits on quantities that can be purchased.

The organization says KN95s or other non-NIOSH-certified masks should only be used as a "last resort" when treating COVID-19 patients and only when NIOSH-certified N95s or other respirators offering comparable or better protection are not available.

"KN95 masks that don't meet US regulatory standards still generally provide more respiratory protection than surgical or cloth masks and can be used in certain clinical settings," Michael Argentieri, ECRI vice president for technology and safety, said in the statement.

I'm noticing more and more that health professionals seem to be double-masking these days (surgical over a KN95 or cloth).

There is no hope of blocking a Trump nominee for RBG's seat, now that Mitt Romney has lost whatever conscience he had during the impeachment trial. Our only hope is to recapture the White House & Senate and hold on to the House, then add Justices to make SCOTUS a neutral arbiter that provides a check against partisan agendas of the other two branches. Parties were in their infancy during the early days of the Constitution (and George Washington warned against forming them at all), and existed more as alliances of candidates than general ideological organizations open to the general public. Their definitions were fluid, and candidates often crossed over several times in their careers (especially before VPs were running mates of the same party as the President, but rather the second-place finishers). We didn't have direct election of Senators, and only male landowners were allowed to vote.

So only restructuring SCOTUS can save us from the demise of affordable health care, reproductive choice, and equality in voting, employment, marriage, and myriad other aspects of our lives. If we lose in Nov., we will become a Gilead led by an absolute monarch.

Not surprised by the very conservative Romney. Also noting that he has a big habit of flip-flopping. I have come to have little trust for any Reps. and even more so since Trump. Their hypocrisy is massive, especially on this when butter wouldn't melt getting Gorsuch and especially Kavanaugh. Nancy Pelosi sounded like she might get something going, but with Trump it is often okay not to do anything. He hangs himself every day, sometimes several times over. The memes here show that. If we are fortunate and have the whole ball game we can fix everything and I will be especially pleased at my complete inability to shed even one tiny tear for what the Reps. lose for the behaviors now and all those beforehand that played a big part in enabling Trump.

There is a 50/50 chance anyway, but I look at fundamentals and sentiments and Trump has no chance, even his 2016 win was a fluke (70000 extra votes in 3 states combined). His last line of defense is cheating, and we'll see about that.

Letting go can be a gentle process. Our trust in our Higher Power and our faith that good will prevail, in spite of appearances, eases the process. And we must let each experience end, as its moment passes, whether it is good or bad, love or sorrow. It helps to remember that all experiences contribute to our growth and wholeness. -unattributed

Great for Omar. I loved her come-back as well. I do worry about the amt. of cheating that Trump could do as too many of his enablers are as ruthless as he. Still, everything I've heard and read would indicate to me that there is going to very high turnout on the Democratic side and I do recall what a difference that made in 2018 -- knowing this is for president this time. If there could be little cheating and suppression I have no doubt Trump would lose big. I'm more concerned that we will be waiting for results this time and that while in the end Biden could win there will be such incendiary talk before the final word. Trump has spent most of the time this go-around indicating massive cheating is or will take place on our side. Not true of course, but he also spends much time inciting violence. That is highly upsetting as well. My hope has been and will continue to be that Biden has a lot of preparations to strongly address anything that Trump and his group can toss at us.

What I do know about the current crop of people weighing in on what to do or not do about RBG is that each politician weighs it on the scale about how will this hurt or help me and what will be forgotten easily where I'm concerned. I think after the yrs. of Trump ( at least for me ) I'm not forgetting much and forgiving less. Onward.

For many of the Christofacists a plague would be a sign that their long awaited rapture is finally on its' way. I wonder if some of the nuttier talibangelicals voted for him just for that purpose. If so, I really wish they'd just have the darn thing already and leave the rest of us in peace. Though, as Glennie pointed out on the atheist's threa6, we'd probably lose the good ones like Jimmy Carter and my dear neighbor, InaMae. Not the horrid, overbearing, whiny Republican "christians" who seem to be rooting for it.
