Shannon, you too, take it easy!

Chrissy, glad you are rockin your new phone!

Kymn, awesome to hear you sounding strong! Good for you!

Well, no DOTD for Twos-day, how about

    Pond Scum (matches Algae!)

    2 parts vodka

    3 parts club soda

    Top with 1 part Baileys

Enjoy! Cheers, Beers and Thanksgiving Nears (at least I am defrosting the turkey on schedule!)

Good morning, Loungettes! I have survived the pre-op sessions, have all my info in order, and my record for crying at every medical appointment is still intact. I will be staying overnight, which is what I wanted, that way I will be awake enough to remember the instructions I get when it's time to go home and won't have to depend on Mom's failing memory for important info. Got a call for the nurse that's going to work for me next Sunday night/Monday morning, and she wants to take over call and visits from 8 am Sunday so she can get the 24 hour call pay. I didn't even have to think about saying "yes" to that one! I'll get to go to church Sunday am and have all day to putter and prep. Went in early for the appointment yesterday and took Sadie to the dog park there, she spent an hour running around like a crazy thing, then half an hour chasing a ball that I threw for her over and over and over and over again. Somewhere I read that Labs can play fetch longer than any human can possibly throw a ball and that is soooo true! But it was nice to come out of the appointment to a pre-warmed car seat!

Yes, Goldie you are the innocent one here in the lounge (sarcasm filter active)! So much fun to make you blush!

Kymn-I'm glad that FAH is getting counseling, and that he wants to negotiate, but part of me is very suspicious that his version of negotiating is more manipulation of YOU. Please be very careful, and have him work through your lawyer. I am very proud of how you are standing up to all this. This will be a hard holiday season, I know. But you can get through it!Keep picturing FAH like this:

Mrs. Vino-Hooray for vacation overrides! And so kind of your pharmacist to help you save $$$!

DorK-Quit the OVERDOING!!!!! I know how tempting it is, I know how irritating the splint must be, but paying attention to the restrictions NOW will prevent a relapse and even longer recovery LATER! Speaking of laundry, I need to get on the stick that way too, as Wednesday is Winter Storm Warning Day for us here in the East. Again already. This snow will probably stick.

Wahine-The English language is such a funny thing, isn't it? Where else could sewing something up mean both sewing it closed and sewing it in the "expose" position!

"We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes; but the plural of ox became oxen not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, yet the plural of moose should never be meese.

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice; yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men, why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?

If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet, and I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?

If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

We speak of a brother and also of brethren, but though we say mother, we never say methren.

Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him, but imagine the feminine, she, shis and shim."

Karen-Wine might help mets? I MUST find that one! Depression is so hard to deal with without a "life altering diagnosis" as the pre-op nurse put it yesterday. We need a cure for depression, too. What color ribbon would depression be????

DorK-Thanks for the link, gonna read that one very carefully when I'm done here.

Chrissy-I got my service transferred from my old phone to a new one, it should be activated sometime in the next couple of days, and I can't wait to see what it can do! Getting it all figured out is going to take some time, but at least it's fun time! It's not an iPhone, but does a lot of the same things. The big thing is it's Bluetooth compatible so I can use a headset with it. Major advancement for me!

Undercover-Gotta watch out for them toxic alcohol fumes! Hmm, if you inhale the fumes do you get drunk quicker than drinking the likker????

Bernie-Now THAT is a lap full of love! You look wonderful, BTW!

Safe travels to all who are traveling!

Princess Glitter Sizzle says today's DOTD is "The Traveler"

    1/2 oz Amaretto
    1/2 oz Dark Rum
    2 oz Grapefruit Juice
    3 oz Orange Juice

    Directions
Pour ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well, and serve.

Kymn, I'm sorry you had to speak to FAH, but so proud of you for standing your ground. You keep that pretty little head held high and keep those big girl panties on, we will buy you pretty pink leopard ones.

MrsV, I did not know about the Vacation Override, but I get my scripts with a 3 month fill. Do you think they would still do it? I just now met my deductable! So glad you have ICONS and I just love that name and the meaning, just so darn cute....like you!

DorK, me thinks you need to be grounded. Girl......you don't want that surgery and pain all to be for nothing. You must do as you are suppose to. Just read where you said I am NOT innocent and how you are gonna tell on me...........ROFLMAO! I hope Lana can come and visit with her Aunties/Uncles? I know you had Mocha a boy, Bella a girl and shoot, I can't think of the name of your other fur baby. Your mom may move slow, be greatful that she can move period.

Kathy, I hope you mom finds her pills when she goes home. I so worry about her and her pills, as she seems to get so confused with them and it's just so scary. When are they heading back to HI?

Drink, don't drink......what's a girl to do? I say Drink and don't watch the news!

Good for you in figuring out the phone Chrissy.

Shannon, I am laughing at you for burning your eyes with the heated Jack............you poor dear. Next time, maybe just do a few shots.

Look at all those fur babies Bernie! How many do you have? Wow.....lots of mega wet kisses! Can barely see the glass of port, perhaps a larger one this year. It is good to see what the REAL Bernie looks like. Like I said, I hated being bald.

Love the Pond Scum Lisa, but I like anything with Baileys in it! My DH doesn't do turkey, so we are having BBQ ribs, shrimp cocktail and not sure what else.

NM, my heart goes out to you my friend, as I know you stress so bad when it comes time for appts. Sure wish we could help. Glad all things are going as planned and as you wanted them. So glad you got to have some fun with Sadie too and visa versa. Please remind us the day before you go in for for surgery so we can make sure everything is stocked and ready to go on the UFO and da Bus. Oh shoot, and here I thought you had my back and my innocence....darn. Loved the little poem on our language, and there are so many confusing words and sayings. Love it when we get 2 DOTD on Twosday.

Happy Twosday to all my loungies. DorK...safe travels.....I mean Stella.

Bernie, Oh that photo is so full of love and pure happiness....makes me smile looking at it! Your furbabies look like they are as ecstatic as can be, and so do you! Thanks for sharing!!!

NM, Reading about you asking Karen what color ribbon would be good for depression, "BLACK" came to mind, for me. When you are in that frame of mind, everything feels black, bleak, and hopeless. I think we all have been there at one time or another, but it breaks my heart that Karen does not have meds or therapy that is working right now. Glad your PREOP is over!!! And that you have Sunday to go to church, and do what you need to, before the procedure. Forgive me, but I forgot what is being done.....is this the nasal/sinus surgery? You KNOW we will be with you, don't cha??? I need to know the right procedure, so I can make sure the dr does everything right! LOL. Yes, I LOVE that write-up about how the english language does not make any sense! And the voodoo doll for Kymn's FAR....sorta looks like a gingerbread man voodoo doll....hope it works! Such funny cartoons, too!!!!

Lisa, thanks for the "Pond Scum", can have that in one hand, and NM's "The Traveler" in the other hand, since it is "Twos-dey"! Yippee!!!

DorK, Hope your travels are going well....just imagining the big hugs you will give your parents when you see them is giving me goose-bumps! Such a happy time, getting to be with them again! Albeit with some trepidation, as I know you are concerned over how they may be doing. Let us know when you get there safely!

Anyone know where Gail is??? Sure miss her, and I have no way to get in touch with her. Sent her a PM, but no answer. If anyone hears from her, can you let us know that she is ok?

TO those gals in other countries that are planning on celebrating Thanksgiving day with us, you are so sweet to do so!!!! Such a big day here, but more emphasis on eating, than on the significance of the day. Sorta like Christmas has such an emphasis on presents! I miss my SIL that is in TX, as he gives the best prayers, from his heart, spur of the moment. Guess we will have to wing it this year! If someone wants to share a special, simple prayer for turkey day, I just might use it!

Looks like we may have severe storms today, and schools are laready planning to close early (it is just 8 am right now). Hope we don't have any tornadoes....we had a very deadly one in Nov, a few yrs ago. Take care girls, and esp the newbies that I don't quite know yet....keep posting and stay around so I can get to know you! We have a BIG bar at the HTL that can fit ebberybody!!!

    Hugsssssssssssssssssss,

    Kathy

OOPS....*bump*, didn't mean to bump into you, girlfriend! Cute pic for Kymn. Yeah, I think they would still do the vacay override, as my mom gets 3 mo supplies too.  My parents go back on Dec 3, too soon. Have a great morning!!!!

DOH! I just cannot keep up with you gals!

Beans, I lurve the acid-flashback grandpa cartoon! (I will tell no tales of my mis-spent youth...)

Scuba-Du, you must visit Rusia but go to St.Petersburg not Moscow. Moscow is not as 'nice'. Another idea is Kyiv - it is absolutely beautiful! (was Kiev, with independence they now prefer Kyiv spelling. Just FYI)

(((Karen))) You WILL find the right dog for you. I was at an adoption thing 2 years ago and saw a black cocker pup (just like my 1st one) and wanted her but some guy got her 1st. Then I saw a bro & sis playing and focused on the boy cuz he was colored differently from my 1st & 2nd cockers but the chose the girl and it is like we were meant to 'be', she is a mama's girl and will be by my side for a long time. Ya just never know but the right dog does come into your life. Smile

I am in Madrid and relaxing. I'm bringing back some Rioja, goat chese and pastry-type desserts as my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's house. (I think maybe someday I'll have to host Thanksgiving - not!) I'm looking forward to my week off. Maybe I'll get those last leaves up and the house cleaned? Maybe? Or maybe I'll just hang out here at the Lounge??? Tongue out

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to all!

A new guy in town walks into a bar and reads a sign that hangs over the bar...
    FREE BEER!
    FREE BEER FOR THE PERSON
    WHO CAN PASS THE TEST!
So the guy asks the bartender what the test is.

The Bartender replies "Well, first you have to drink that whole gallon of pepper tequila, the WHOLE thing at once and you can't make a face while doing it. Second, there's a 'gator out back with a sore tooth...you have to remove it with your bare hands. Third, there's a woman up-stairs who's never had an orgasm. You gotta make things right for her."

The guy says, "Well, as much as I would love free beer, I won't do it. You have to be nuts to drink a gallon of pepper tequila and then get crazier from there.

Well, as time goes on and the man drinks a few, he asks, "Wherez zat teeqeelah?"

He grabs the gallon of tequilla with both hands, and downs it with a big slurp and tears streaming down his face. Next, he staggers out back and soon all the people inside hear the most frightening roaring and thumping, then silence.

The man staggers back into the bar, his shirt ripped and big scratches all over his body.

"Now" he says "Where's that woman with the sore tooth?"

    LOL!!!!!!!

ON Monday I am having a turbinate reduction, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, and Uvulopalatoplasty.  Or in pronouncable terms I'm having the bumps in my nose pared down, my sinuses inspected and openenings made where there aren't any and larger openings made where the one's I have aren't big enough, and the little hangy think in the back of my throat taken off and the extre tissue in the back of my soft palate trimmed off.  I'll more likely than not be spending in the night in the hospital for pain control and nausea management (ansethesia and I are not happy campers together).

Had my first session with the new counselor.  I babbled and babbled for most of the whole time.  Then she procedes to point out how I've never had a chance to actually experience the emotional aspects of the rat ba$tard and all the crappola treatment misery that I went through.  Now that things are quieting down, treatment wise, all that repressed emotional response is "bubbiling up and squirting out" at unpredictable times.  Apparently I'm not going crazy and what I'm going through isn't even really unusual.  Just being able to talk about everything is a relief.

But now I am exhausted (probably more emotionally than physically), gonna fix some comfort food for dinner, have an adult beverage or 4--while grocery shopping I found a big plastic candy cane with 4 little nip bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream in it.  Original, Coffee, Caramel, and Chocolate Mint.  That's gonna be my dessert!

Tomorrow, Chicas! Save some dwinkies for me!

Glad you were able to unload with the counselor, NM! Since you were able to talk nonstop, sounds like you felt very comfortable with her; I'm glad of that! The Bailey's candy cane was what we bought so cheap after Christmas last year, in our state (ABC) liquor stores. Although we have independent likker stores, still have the state ones too. That was how I first tried the Choc Mint one that someone here likes so much (Is it Gail or Karen, or.....?). Fun to find that, and glad you will enjoy it for dessert!!

Bernie, I sent your joke to my DH, and he loved it! (Knew he would).

Pau Hana time! Anyone here dwinking.....?

I'm dwinking!  Decided to have dessert first.  Bailey's choco mint is GOOD!  So is the Caramel!  Wish I had more!  Hmm, maybe I should eat something.

Yes I did feel comfortable with the counselor.  I think this is going to work

Just talked to Mom, she had the stress test Friday and the transesophageal echocardiogram today (she still sounds loopy) and sees the cardiologist on the 12th.  Guess she finds out the detals then. I'd be a wreck waiting that long, but she seems fine with it.  Wish I could be like that again.

I need to find something mindless to do.  Like grab a pool floaty and let Pants pour drinks in my mouth.  Or find a hammock and have Pants pour drinks in my mouth.  First I gotta get the sheets off the clothesline before it starts snowing.  And maybe even make up the bed.  Or maybe I'll just sleep in the recliner tonight.  I will be so glad to have a whole day at home tomorrow!

Hi NM! I see that Pants is STILL pouring dwinks in your mouth!! You have him trained well. Hope you can get your mind off of the upcoming (shhhh.....don't wanna remind you). Well, just hope to get your mind off things! Hope your mom's tests will come out well. I don't usually mind waiting for results. The way I look at it is, until I am TOLD I have a problem, I can try to act like all is well. In fact, my bc dx knocked me for a loop, as since they told me it prolly would be negative, I had put it out of my mind! Hope the Bailey's will numb you a bit, so you can relax!!! I think we would even let you keep Pant to yerself ALL NIGHT!!! Are you going to your mom's for turkey day?

We ate soooo early tonight, for some reason I am on a cooking kick. Made a new dish(chicken breast, cannelloni beans, etc)  last night and some Thai Coconut Soup today. And made some carrot cake cupcakes that I froze, to frost on turkey day. Maybe I am trying to get ready for all the cooking tomorrow and Thursday! Who else here is cooking the Thanksgiving meal?

Enjoyed my Seagrams/Diet Coke tonight! Hope you are still having a good time in Madrid, Jaybird! But you will be home on Wednesday, right? Looks like a lot of cancelled flts in NY because of the storm coming thru. We were lucky and didn't get hit hard at all.

    Cheers Dears!

Chrissy....I'll toast you on turkey day....who ever asked....turkey day is an American holiday...Canada has turkey day in October but Thanksgiving is an American holiday

Well...we had the phone interview with Big Dogs Hugs Paws....and they interviewed our vet and 3 references....next step is for the "board" to approve us...then home visit....and last find the right dog.....

My work week is over.....not sure what going to do tomorrow, but staying away from the grocery stores sounds like a good idea....and I have  not desire to shop "black Friday"...especially the stores that are opening at Midnight...isn't there any respect for the employees!!!

Kathy, loved your funny TG pics!  Thanks to you and the others for the kind wishes for my parents. It has not been easy but it was so awesome seeing my parents light up when we came through the door. I did give extra hugs from you and Chrissy!  I was watching dancing with the stars with mom and dad as dh watches fox news .....zzzzz. Mom and Dad got bored and left the room and joined DH. DWTS is still on but I am typing between commercials.  You asked what we were doing, right? lol.   not sure if it was you who talked about black ribbons but I think it would be more depressing wearing one AND seeing them on others. Depression is so common and it is not a joke.  Where are you having TG this year at your house or going to Texas? Sorry about you missing those great prayers. Was it your bil who passed or sil? I was confused by your post. must be lack of sleep.

NM, sorry you cried at your appointment, one day, you WILL conquer this. Glad all the preop is over for you, you did it. I feel so bad that you go through this at every appointment.  I am blessed that I usually just show up and really don't worry too much in advance. maybe it is because I live in de nile.  Hoping your surgery is smooth, easy and successful.  I will be praying for ya, my friend. Sounds like a great time for Sadie. I wish my fur babies would play catch. And how nice for someone to take all of your shift. GREAT advise to our Kymn to keep her guard up.

Kymn, I hope that you never let FAH back in your life. One thing I firmly believe is that "once a cheater, always a cheater". As NM said, great he is getting help but too late, he has done some irreparable damage to you and the kids and will likely do it again. Jest my opinion. I care about you and never want to see you hurt like this again. You got what it takes to have a Prince sweep you off your feet and it will happen.

Scuby, you gettin some rest? I am worried about ya. Sorry, hope I do not offend you but deze dotd's your have been coming up with are freaking me out. Algae? Pond scum??  I dunno, maybe they take good with brats and clotted cheese?  you better git some sleep, someting is not right about dese dwinks. Or did someone slip some shrooms in your dwink? jk, you know I love ya!  I will toast with some pond scum.

Lori, if I must be punished and Mr. Big is not available, jest sent me Pants.  Hmm, I considered my furbabies and my DD's as cousins. I have two girls, mandy and bella. yes, poor mocha had a girls name. he wore bows too.

Jaybird, so nice rescuing dogs. I promised myself that I would never buy a dog from a pet store or breeder, always rescue.  Your post reminded me of sumting I saw on one of de late shows last night. It was a classifed add to adopt a dog and it said "Please let this dog Pea in your home", with a photo of a cute lil doggie.  it took me a bit to figure out that the baby's name was Pea lol.

Bernie, lmao. You are on a roll girl.

I think I am going to join NM and Wahiney for de twos-dey bash. Mr. Big, I will have three of what they are having.

To anyone I missed, sorry. Trying to catch up yet not take time from my parents. I am trying to be brave but feel like crying. So I will dwink.  CheerZ,no TearZ, luv me DearZ

Juliet i'm feeling great, thanx. ***Scuby I don't know how to take it easy. 4 days after my bmx I was walking up/down little hills w/my bro/sis and leaving them in the dust I might add. ***NM the fumes were intense but it really worked because I felt better almost right away. Hang in there, you'll get thru your stuff too. Women always get thru things better than men. We're just built tougher. ***Goldie i'm feeling good enough to make that bird-as long as I have electricity. It was going haywire today and they don't know why. But they mickey moused it until fri/monday so it's all good. ***Dork check a video on youtube. I can't figure out how to post the link directly to it. Type in "History of the f word." It always makes me laugh. And there's a great book about that too, hilarious. Can't remember the name but will try. Feel better and knock back a few special egg nogs when you don't. Cheers girls!

Awww DorK, I get it how you can feel like crying when you are with your parents. So nice to be there, but so hard to see them declining and having problems. I must have been VERY confusing in my post.....no one passed....my son-in-law and DD and their family live in TX now and he is the one that does really good prayers. He did missionary work in Guatemala b4 they married, and they both planned to go back there as missionaries, but then the babies came, and came, and came again. And now he is over a factory and making the big bucks....quite a different life than they envisioned! I couldn't read your post till after I saw DWTS, as it was recorded and I was afraid you might mention the winners! But Ms. DorK was a good girl, and did not spill da beans. (Not you Beannie, just regular beans). Was a surprise to me, how about you? I don't want you to dwink alone, so I will join you.....*kachink*

OOPS, bumped ya, undie! You are a pro though and didn't even spill yer dwink! Hope I didn't hit ya too hard.......here's another dwink for you....

No worries Wahine,i've got some very good tenders. I spill my drink every 2 seconds and they're so good about bending over to clean it. I'm just so clumsy. But thanx for the drink,it gives me something else to spill. Now if we could only get those tenders to clean my house. It would make housework much more fun.

Ciny, a lot of girls work through chemo but just as many don't due to SE's etc.  The decision ultimatley is yours about which way you go but my suggestion is see how you go with the first one and take it from there.  I would warn your boss though that you may need the time off.  Glad the scans were clear....clear scans are always good news!  Yay!!!

Serve 'em up boys!!!!   It's time to celebrate!!!!!

    TITZUP!!!!!!!
