Happy Birthday Sweet Bruno!

Visited a friend, ran errands, walked/ran outside bc it finally wasn't rainy or gloomy at the time I could go.

I did an hour long spot toning DVD & a 3 mile indoor walking DVD. We are babysitting the granddogs tonight. DS's work Christmas party is tonight. It's a Kentucky Derby theme. His fiance bought a Fasinator with peacock feathers. My dad was a sharp dressed man and DS borrowed a suit jacket I kept that is a tangerine color. Fun!

What a fun Christmas Party! Don't think I've ever heard of a themed Christmas Party before. I bet your ds looked sharp!
Went to see the musical "Jagged Little Pill" with a friend today. It was wonderful but not exactly a light, fun musical to watch at Christmastime. lol

DS said that everyone really got into dressing up in Kentucky Derby garb so it was a very fun Christmas party.
A little dancing with Marshall Fitness on the computer & went to Yoga. I convinced DS's fiance & one of her friends to come try out yoga with me (I have some free passes to my fitness center that I have to use before the end of the year). They said they liked it, so maybe they will want to use DH's unused passes too.

Finally completed some tasks I had been procrastinating. Marked them off my list!
Walked/ran last this afternoon in full sun which we have not had in a week!

I went to Zumba, on a dog walk & was able to change my hair appointment from tomorrow to this afternoon. We are in the path of the monster storm that has been on the news. Stay tuned!

Yes, it is a monster storm! Watched the news and dh wanted to know if I had heard how you were doing.
Glad you got your hair appointment changed!

The holiday party we were supposed to attend tonight was cancelled because there was already some freezing rain coming down this afternoon. It's supposed to switch to snow tomorrow & then snow, snow, snow for who knows how long. Yuck!

Stay safe Ruth, I have been thinking of you these past few days as the storm trackers were forecasting the Snowmaggedon.
We are in the first week of finals for the fall semester...I have lots of use or lose vacation time so my last day is this Friday...then a three week hiatus between my annual leave and the normal holiday break! Really looking forward to it.
Was in NYC last week on a business trip which was beautiful but cold (for me)...got lots of steps/miles of walking. Avoiding the subway and walked. Slowing gaining strength/endurance from my knee injury in April(!) with PT through to September (!!! ugh).
While I am away from school will add additional exercise classes as I have more "recovery" time when I don't need to rush off to a class and then return to school and be on my feet teaching. My hope is that by the time I am back to school regular on Jan 10th, I will be able to return to my normal six days a week schedule at the gym...I have built up to 4 days a week at this point.
While we don't have snow, I live near Colonial Williamsburg, so it is beautiful and very festive.
Take care and try to stay warm, TT

Sounds like you have a good plan to finish off the rehab, TT!
We are definitely in the Snowmaggedon. This morning wasn't too awful; my fitness center was open, my Pound class was on, I live only a few blocks away, and I have a 4 wheel drive SUV. So I zipped over for the class & walked around the track for awhile before heading home. It's been snowing, and snowing, and snowing since then. We've shoveled 3 times & are supposed to get a lot more snow tonight, tomorrow, and some even into the weekend. I am supposed to have my annual physical on Thursday morning.....we shall see!

TT: Happy to read that your knee has improved so much! Have a fabulous vacation/holiday break.
Ruth: Bruno looks so happy to be in snow!
Went grocery shopping today as it will be rainy tomorrow.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

We went from a winter storm to a blizzard.......which is still going on......I did 30 minutes of cardio & 30 of toning via DVD.

Stay safe Ruth. I was a little surprised by your previous forecast of "not so bad" ...it was looking pretty overwhelming in the national weather reports.
Before my mother moved here in her retirement, she lived in our rural NH home where you would need to shovel the roof in especially difficult winters! I don't miss the cold, but I also don't miss what is actually very dangerous conditions.
Take care, TT

We may have to get our roof shoveled before this is all over. We are in a blizzard warning until 6 pm tonight; and then an Arctic Cold Front will sweep in. I will do some more Exercise by DVD today. I don't think it is worth shoveling until the wind dies down.

Good grief, Ruth! Stay safe and as warm as you can.
Yesterday was a day of eating and no exercise. We had our Christmas gathering with dh's side of the family. First time since Christmas 2019.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

I went to yoga and did an indoor walking DVD both yesterday & today.

Hi all!
Just a quick visit while the generator is going. Per the national weather service official tallies, we were right in the line of fire Friday, getting somewhere between 21 and 24 inches of dense white concrete. Haven't had power since. Snow:water ratio was 8:1, which is ridiculous even for us. Just trying to dig out the small deck snowblower got my heart rate through the roof, and the snow was too thick and heavy for the snowblower to be very effective.
No treadmill for me -- I have a good excuse for now
. But the erg doesn't require electricity, so I did ow some, while watching a downloaded old GBBO. I had planned baking for the weekend, but probably good for my waistline that I didn't, as I would have had to sample! I am really hoping my balance is improved enough to get back out on x-country skis this season.
I hope everyone here is well.

Hi yesiam, we are tied with you as we got between 20-25 inches too. It was heavy & wet here too. Then it got really cold, so the roads are icy and rutted. So depressing. I was in a very Ebanzer Scrooge mood today!

Well...went to yoga last night and returned to find my car had been broken into during the class...passenger side window smashed in, pocketbook that was stashed under seat gone...ugh, I am currently in the downward swirl of police reports, cancelling cards, etc. etc. Today is the start of my holiday recess, not what I had planned on doing...also makes me not so enthusiastic to return to yoga studio...but I will have to get over that! Not sure if it is the holidays or what but it will take until Thursday NEXT week for the glass shop to get the correct window for my car -- a very average prius!

Oh No! I am so sorry, TT. How maddening, frustrating, and discouraging!
Very cold here. Went to Zumba and grocery shopping....which is like taking your life into your own hands as the streets are like ice skating rinks.

TT: Oh no! I'm so sorry this happened to you! It happened to my sister also. She was in a parking lot at a park. And another friend in Florida just had the same thing happen to her. Again, I'm so sorry.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

Ruth: How much snow do you have and are you and family ok?
0 -
I think we got about 20 inches with 6 more expected Wednesday/Thursday (plus wind so that will be 'fun'). Yes, we are okay except for being very crabby!

Went out in the cold to Pound this morning, will go to Zumba. My Book Club meets tonight. More snow is predicted for tomorrow. Here is a Holiday Poem that I can relate to!

Oh Ruth, that is Soooo True!
Well I was brave and went back to the yoga studio yesterday...didn't like being the center of attention, but that will blow over.
Made a pot of turkey soup in part last night (the boiling of the bones) and then the second half this morning...currently simmering on stove. Turkey, barley, carrots and celery. This will be our dinner and lighter fare to balance some of the richer items the next few days...will also keep my mom in some healthy food when times get rushed. Had frozen the last of the Thanksgiving turkey just for this.
I'm off to TaiChi in an hour.
If the auto glass gods are kind, I may have my car back with a passenger side window in it today...which I am really hoping for as bad weather (rain not snow) is coming in the overnight for 36 hrs of rain with gale force wind. Sorry Ruth you have had the same with the additional insult of the cold so it was snow/blizzard for you. TT

Glad you went back to class,TT. Fingers crossed that your car gets done today. The Wednesday Women were able to get our walk and Ugly Sweater Christmas breakfast in before it started snowing again. I may or may not go to Pound this afternoon depending on what the weather is doing.
0 -
TT: Hope you get your window replaced in time for the rain and wind!
Ruth: Great picture. Those ugly sweaters, though.......jk
Rain starts here in the middle of the night. Then cold temperatures arrive on Friday. Did my Christmas grocery shopping today to try to stay away from everyone else.
Walked/ran early this afternoon.

Pound this morning. I am off to Dance2fit soon. We are supposed to dress in holiday attire and all our songs are 'Christmas' songs. It is very, very cold and in a blizzard warning (no new snow, but we have is blowing around like crazy). It's 'okay' driving around in town, but very dangerous in the open country.

Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating.
I did get my window replaced on Wednesday, yeah!
The cold came here yesterday...yesterday we had a high of 58 before the front came through bringing the overnight low to 9...we stay below freezing for several days. Dripped our faucets inside and out last night.
Had a evening yoga class last night, no more classes until after Christmas.
Take care everyone, stay safe, TT
