ericjo - I don't remember that, but it's been a long time. Hopefully you'll get some more current answers.

Bumping for those getting ready to start. I finished chemo on November 17th of 2021.

Sending out some good vibes to all of you that are starting or getting ready to start. You CAN do this. And this thread was so helpful to me when I went through it.

Not sure how the new system is going to work, but this is such a valuable thread it should go to the top regularly. What we used to call a "bump"

We can mark this thread as an announcement in the Chemo forum so it stays at the top of the threads! Great feedback, MinusTwo, thank you!

@minustwo You can find your own inbox in the Quick Links section (same place you'll find your Bookmarks, your pm's are under Inbox). If you'd like to pm another member, click on their username in any thread, and a profile window will pop up with the message option.

Mods - NOPE. No 'quick links' Nothing in the inbox. This is not intuitive and I don't have the energy to figure it out.

@minustwo, is it possible that you are on a mobile/tablet? If that's the case, quick links will be at the bottom of your page.

Why sugar free candy? IMO it tastes nasty.

Thanks to whoever put this together. This is a great very comprehensive list!

    Is it still current?

JSYK, a lot of the hair links are no longer valid.

"• Some women recommend Vitamin C supplements but my dietitian said "No Vitamin C supplements for women with breast cancer ever." (I posted her explanation elsewhere on www.breastcancer.org.)"

What's wrong with vitamin C? I take it daily to help with my daily iron pill absorption.

    Link is also broken.

@crossh are you still undergoing active chemotherapy? Which link is broken? https://www.breastcancer.org/managing-life/diet-nutrition/dietary-supplements/known/vitamin-c

    • Vitamin C from food is safe according to most studiess (ask your doctor though!), but high-dose supplements could act as antioxidants and may interfere with some chemo drugs. Evidence is mixed, but many oncologists urge caution with supplements during treatment. Since you’re also taking iron, which vitamin C boosts absorption of, it’s worth checking with your care team!
    • Some good questions you may want to ask your doctor:
    • Is my current vitamin C dose safe with my chemo drugs?
    • Should I change the timing or stop during treatment?
    • How much iron do I actually need and are my iron levels being monitored?
    • Are there any known interactions between my supplements and my specific chemo regimen?
    • They can personalize the advice based on your labs and treatment plan.
    • Hopefully your treatment team can answer your questions for your situation. We're all here for you!

I have not started yet. Surgery Friday then will start 2-3 weeks after. Many links are broken.
