Hi gals,
Will not be there on zoom again tomorrow, it’s my last Monday of radiation.
Finished 10 radiation treatments, five to go. Seems like it’s working, the skin nodules have almost all dissolved, it’s what it’s in the underlaying skin layer now to dissolve more. It’s all less red and slightly pink so that is good and some areas normal color… fingers crossed it continues. MRI yesterday for the neck and spine to check on those lesions, which had resolved and did not show on the latest PET.. but we’ll see. Radiation has been fine, no SE really, just sleepy a little earlier in the evening. I can manage the discomfort on the breast as the skin breaks down and heals, it’s all good. The weekends are awesome, cause I feel so good and energetic with no treatments. Did a short cardio and stretch routine early today, and then made fresh carrot and apple juice. I see both the RO and MO this coming week, will fill you all in when I get back to group. Today is a cooking day and a long walk planned day, just love the fall on the east coast. Cool weather, sweaters, sunshine. The Carboplatin dose I’m on is a low dose, so does not effect my energy level that I can notice. We’ll see if it can help stabilize the skin METs from progressing.
Hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well today. This MBC path we travel has many demands, with ups and downs, turns and curves and surprises and disappointments along the way. And yet we persevere which is amazing really, nice to know we have each other to cheer for and give and receive good wishes and care… wherever we are and however we land. Happy Sunday ❤️2 -
@rlschaller - so glad to hear that you can already see some positive results from your radiation and are not feeling any major side effects. Good luck with the remaining 5.
Love your positive attitude. Enjoy your weekend. Sounds like it will be a fun one. You rock!

Hi, everyone. I could use some good thoughts. It’s not about me but our sweet doxie, Abbey. She’s been acting strange for a few weeks and today has lost mobility in her back legs. I’m thinking she has IVDD, and we got an appointment to take her to the vet tomorrow morning. I’m worried more so for my husband. With me being on hospice, this is the last thing he needs. She is a Daddy’s girl, and he’s so upset. We are hoping it’s just started and we’ll be able to take care of it with rest and medication. I don’t think we could go the surgery route with everything because of my situation. She’s only going to be seven in April. Please keep her in your thoughts and hope it’s a rest-and-medication situation. If any of you have been through this with a dog, please tell me your experience. She’s our fifth dachshund, and we haven’t dealt with the spinal issues with them.

So sorry, KBL. I'm sending good thoughts and wishes for Abbey. I'm sorry though that I just know nothing about the condition. Hug to you too!

@threetree Thank you. 💕

@AJ Thank you. I’m having some trouble sleeping. I’m thinking so much about my husband and if he loses both of us. I can’t even imagine what he’ll go through. We’ve been married over 40 years, and I just realized we’ve never been without a dog. We swore no more after our current dog, but she’s only six.

So after visiting the vet, we’ve got her on some pain pills and anti inflammatories and will do some cool laser therapy. We also got her a pack and play instead of a crate. She has to remain still to see if she can heal. We will give her some time to see if this works. We can hope.
