@kbl Im so sorry about Abby. It’s so hard with pets, when they are in pain and when aging with illness. I hope this cool laser therapy and the meds help her heal! Sending love and light to all three of you. Hugs 🤗

We made the awful decision to euthanize. She was not peeing, and to see her dragging herself is not the dog she would have wanted to be. We had to take her 60 miles in the pouring rain to the emergency vet. Our hearts are broken, but we know we did what was best. I don’t think she could have recovered, and I didn’t want my husband to have to deal with two of us at the same time.

    My beautiful Abbey!

Heartbreaking. We had a dog named Abby and it was terrible when we had to say goodbye

@mojos Thank you, Mary Jane. To watch my husband dig a hole in the pouring rain and place her box in it was so hard. See you soon.

@AJ The guilt can be so hard, but she would have suffered. We didn’t want that. Thank you.

My dog's life expectancy is about the same as mine now, so I imagine us going into the great beyond together. As I often say to my husband, dogs are people, too.

@tougholdcrow I told Abbey I’d see her on the other side. Who knows? Ours had us wrapped around her little paw for sure.

Condolences. It’s hard to do the kind thing even when you love so much you want to be with them forever. Hugs

KBL - I also posted on another thread, but I want to again, tell you how very sorry I am about Abbey. I really like the idea that you told her you'd see her on the other side. I really like to think that that is what happens. Thanks so much for sharing her picture with us. She looks so sweet and lovable. Sending hugs your way!

@tanya_djamila missed you last week. So sorry to hear you gad Covid. What a bummer, with all that's going on with you. But you've been so strong and positive even when sharing all these developments. You're a model of courage and I wish you all the best.

@kbl sorry to hear about Abbey. I pray she gets better. I also pray for your husband as he internalised what you're going through.

To everyone, looking forward to see you all later today. Sending my love, hugs and prayers for your well being. And to the @moderators you're the best ❤️

@Rosebessie Thank you. Sadly, we made the decision to euthanize. It’s guilt producing for sure, but we will be okay. She isn’t suffering anymore. 💕

@kbl didn't have a chance to ask at the meeting today, how are you feeling otherwise? Hugs again during this time of grieving and letting go. ❤️

@rlschaller Hi, Rhonda. I’m so glad you’re doing well on the new med and. It having horrible side effects.

At a little over 18 weeks off the meds, I’m having some nausea and fatigue but just up a tick. For the most part, I feel pretty much the same. I will take it. After losing Abbey, I feel like I need to stick around for my husband. Not that I have a choice, but I hate the thought of him being totally alone. It’s just so weird to think we had dogs our whole entire 40-year marriage. That chapter has ended, and my husband has never been alone. He went from a young guy at his parents’ house to me. Thank you for asking. 💕

Have missed everyone so much. We just got back from our cruise this morning. Am really glad to be home after 3 weeks. The ship was beautiful, except for the norovirus I caught on the second day (1/6). After immodium didn't seem to work, I went to medical on the 9th. They gave me more imodium and electrolytes to add to my water and made me isolate in our suite for 24 hours. Although my only symptom was the awful D, I don't think I have ever experienced real diarrhea in my life (Verzenio has never caused me this in the 4 years I have been on it). Have a new prospective for all of you who are having this terrible side effect. I was beginning to feel a little bit better thanks to watching my diet and keeping hydrated until this morning when I was in the bathroom for almost 4 hours ( what a way to celebrate the lovely birthday dinner we had on board last night). So sick from both ends. Didn't know whether to sit or stand. Thankfully the immodium worked by 5am.

Was planning to be on the Zoom call this afternoon, but instead was at the doctor's office. Am having an issue with fluid building up in my foot and leg. He thinks it is because I am dehydrated despite drinking 2 to 3 liters of water every day. Hoping elevating my leg and drinking more (he suggested gatorade for the electrolytes). Hope this works. Have an appointment on the 23rd for a dynamics test on my blatter and a brain MRI on the 24th.

Hope to see everyone next Monday.

@going2beatthis Thank you, Fay. It’s been a rough time.

My goodness, that does not sound fun. I’m so sorry you got so sick and got sick again this morning. I’m glad you were able to enjoy some of the cruise. Happy birthday. I hope they can figure out the swelling issue too. Goodness. I hope you can rest tonight.
