Hey ladies happy spring
Mara I’m going to look up hip fan. It’s sounds like I need one in my life.
Just leaving acupuncture so I’ll hopefully have energy from b-12 shots to do some gardening.
I hope everyone has a peaceful pain ache free day with sunshine and cookies 🍪!!!

@chicagoan Now who’s embarrassed 😂 Phil’s bats quiet again… congrats to the Cubs!

@cookie54-Now the Phil's can start hitting again-until they visit us next week at Wrigley! The Cubs haven't won a series is a while so this was a shocker.

Update from me….
With my liver progression I had on March 21 scans, and the liver biopsy I had on April 6, we have decided I am going on IV Enhertu. I switched from HER2 negative to HER2 positive. I will have to get a Port- I had one in 2017 but removed it 2023 because I was on oral meds and did not need it.
I will update my profile.

@candy-678 Best wishes with the Enhertu. I hope it is a very effective treatment for you.

Fingers crossed for you that Enhertu kicks this beast out the door. Several women in one of my support groups are taking Enhertu, and side effects seem to improve after the first few sessions.

@candy-678 Sending support that Enhertu is effective for you. I love my port as well since my veins are difficult to get.
@tanya_djamila Yes, the hip fans are great, good to use for flashlight, came in clutch when I ran out of power, they can charge phones and of course run for a long time. Level 1 of the fan can run over 24 hours. I run them on level 5 but that is because the heat from the boiler is still on.
I slept alright, still got some cold symptoms but I do believe the meds taken have helped to keep most of the productive stuff at back of throat vs. chest. Mucinex is the best for me but I do take it twice a day. Feels more effective. I think the cold should be gone by next week. I have also periodically used Hydra Sense spray to keep nose clear. Works well too.
Not sure about food, thinking that I will finish up the can of chicken I have been using for protein. Got some more of the heinz mayo from Amazon, a lot on sale except the burger sauce and lightweight litter. Put all on subscribe and save and will skip the shop next week from Walmart. Freezer is still stocked to the gills so no full shop needed
I am thinking I want a chicken and rice sort of vibe done up in a pot on the stove, keep it an easy cook. Could also add an egg to the pot with the chicken along with extra water and some dried red lentils which are great. I love the feathery texture Need to look at my macaroni and cheese dinners and see about separating them from the box and have with other stuff. I do not need to eat an entire box of Kraft Dinner and the cheese sauce could be put in an air tight container as a seasoning as needed. That way, I could take a 1.4 or 1/2 cup of the elbow noodles and make another meal around it. Does not matter. I do plan to post what I have of course. I do think I am quite good at stretching food. I have also found the plain yogurt mixed with some queso or other strong flavours is really quite good. Queso is expensive, even at Walmart but a good flavour.
EDIT 1 Took a beef and macaroni meal, added some italian seasoning and pre cooked red lentils. They are wonderful and just like feathers for sure. Microwaved the meal, italian seasoning anad cooked red lentils for 5 mins, pulled out a large bowl. Dumped all in. Took a large spoonful of queso and the plain yogurt and added a few of the mingle puffed chips, think cheetos. It was very good.
I am trying out a Paratransit trip that would be 90 mins total. I want to see if transferring is an option. Would be either a Mcdonalds lunch and walkabout for 20 mins and check on grocery store. If it works out correctly I should have a transfer which means entire trip would cost 2.65 in total instead of 2.65 there and 2.65 home. I will wait if I am accepted for rides, they call with trip times. If not, that is fine. If goes through, that would be on Sunday. Need to be up earlier Sunday as I have a Herceptin app't on Wednesday. If I can manage those kind of trips more often, won't feel home bound AND I do not have long waits as the system calls my phone telling me arrival times which is handy. If the day is filled already, will cancel Sunday trips and aim for Monday, really not a very big deal. I will give it a few hours. I would just get up early to book whatever I want for Monday.
Rides for Sunday did not work out, ride home from Walmart was fine but since I don't want a regular bus, will set alarm for tomorrow morning and rebook for a trip on Monday instead. Not overly surprised, it was later. When booking trips, really do need to book almost as soon as they open up.
I have already swept and used the sweeper to pick up the fur, I just need to run the swiffer wet jet but going to do that after lunch, want to finish up laundry. I do have to say the wool balls that are in the dryer are good at shortening the dry time abit but no good for static cling so putting about 1/3 bounce sheet in there, smaller dryer so does not need a whole one.
I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for all as well.

@candy-678 Glad you have a plan in place and may Enhertu kick cancer's butt!!💕
@mara51506 Well it would sure be nice if you can book more outings especially since the weather is nicer. It's nice to break up the day and get out and socialize.🤞

Good evening ladies
@candy-678 i heard a lot of good things about enhertu. Top of the line in infusion now according to my Support group ladies. One requested it instead of oral medication. I hope it does amazing work and lasts a very long time.
Mara I looked at the fan on Amazon. I think I’m going to get one. Seems versatile and useful.
I walked around garden department at Lowe’s. I could spend so much money in there. One project at a time.
Take care all
Tanya

@candy-678 Hoping that your new med will kick cancer's behind. I liked my port back in 2004? Used for chemo for MS. Had it removed years ago and wish I still had one. Veins are shot. I hope Enhertu is easy on you with great results.
@mara51506 Hi gal. I hate head colds. Mine go to my ears every time. As soon as I feel stuffy I use Grandma's trick and apply Vicks vapor rub to temples, under nose and chest. It usually works well. Tried to get Claratin D in the blue capsule and had some bad news. It's now a large white horse pill, packed 15 pills, kept behind counter and you are tracked how much you can or will buy. It's now $29.96 at CVS. Sounds like they are once again having problems with drug users.
Hi all you gals. Good to see @tanya_djamila , @cookie54 . @eleanora @chicagoan Please forgive me if I missed your name.
We've received awful news on the passing of our gr.nephew. He just turned 30 and lived a life devoted to Jesus as part of the Mennonite community. He was born with muscular dystrophy. I believe it was duchennes', which is the most aggressive form. He spoke openly to groups about the disease and did not want pity. His father is a Mennonite minister. Such a young age, my heart breaks for the whole community.
It's been in the mid 80's but 90 is lurking. I had hoped to have the garden work completed by now. We need more stone and mulch. I tried to clean off the old stone with a strong water pressure from a newer hose, but it didn't work very well. Planted pumpkin seeds along property line. That's where one had grown before.
Back brace arrived today and so far I notice a fair improvement. Hoping for more. DH went up on the roof to clean gutters out. We are under a fire warning. Not happy with him. 79 years old. Humph. Hire a kid in the future.
In your pocket for any and all of your needs my dear friends.
