@mara51506 great news on your mri. You had such a content outlook about it too so well done. Happy Canada Day.
Enjoying the last few days of momโs She got a uti so I took her to urgent care. They gave her antibiotics so with cranberry juice and water I hope sheโs feeling better before she leaves.
My sister and other family pitched in for Airbnb near beach for a few days. Iโm looking forward to that and then on to harder things. But at least for now we can love and support each other.
Take care all

@goldensrbest @cookie54 Thank you both for the well wishes, yes, I do prefer not to have to deal with anything else at this time too.
Slept well. Little irritable since yesterday was told my toilet leaking down below my apartment and that they needed to fix it. I can still use toilet but my floor has water between the boards. An annoyance so hope they come to fix it soon. However, so long as I can use it for laundry and everything, put up with wet foot. If no response about the fix, I will take my new attitude, nothing to worry about at this point.
Have my echo this after noon, pickup from home at 2 pm. Going to eat around 11 and get ready incase people show up to fix things. Going to have a pizza with a couple of the useless smaller pizzas, add some lentils and possible frozen peppers. Lately been using the microwave a lot more, though my apartment is not particularly hot, been resisting using the breville. Later after get home, may do up an egg and lentils. Got to get stuff I like eating used up. Also liking the burritos with lentils. Had a burrito, hash brown and lentils yesterday. It was yummy. Microwaving is easier because fewer dishes are made.
I will post if everything is super good and am wishing everyone to have a good day, enjoy your July 4th holiday too and in all pockets as well.
5 -
@mara51506 - I agree that the microwave helps cut down on dishes in a big way. I too live alone, so I often just microwave myself a "one pot meal", with something like chicken and veggies, and it really saves on dishes.
5 -
@threetree It certainly does save on dishes.
Got the echo done, no more appointments til the 15th of july and that is fine with me. I am hungry, debating either a Mcdonald's meal would be good or not. I will decide.

@tanya_djamila Ugh hope your mom recovers quickly and is feeling better. Enjoy your mini getaway with your family!
4 -
@tanya_djamila I am sorry your mom got a UTI, those are terrible, I still remember from when I was a kid. Hope the treatment urgent care gave her helps her get rid of it quickly. Happy 4th of July and enjoy your trip.
To all my US friends Happy 4th of July. I hope the weather is cooler today for you all to enjoy fireworks, parades or whatever you want to do.
I did sleep pretty good. Some was on the couch because I actually had a stupid dream about a cat feeling sick and making messes and I was upset. I knew it was a dream because it was on carpeting. What a dumb thing to dream about. Dreamless sleep in bed though.
Nothing on the agenda today, too hot anyway. Planning on floors, laundry, multiple loads in washer and my dryers. I am liking to wash clothes together in a mesh bag and dry in the tent with heater at the top, regular cleaning cloths just go in regular dryer. Todays clothes bag has pants, undies and socks. The mesh bag protects items and I usually wash on a cold to warm water cycle. I spin everything twice now, feel like less time needed for stuff that goes in the dryer. Also liking the wool balls, feel like they make stuff dry too.
Lots of meals percolating in my head. Most will likely be a one pot meal. Need to open more lentils, I really have strayed away from beans if I am honest, need to chop up the can then put in a container in fridge, the smaller texture is better for me. Still got beefless ground in freezer, put together an order of burritos and black forest ham slices, normally for sandwiches but I enjoy them in meals. 20 bucks in total, I am not 100 percent I will get burritos, they sell out fast but it really is no bother if I do not get them. Would try again later. I no longer am getting the frozen pasta, got tired of them. Use the knorr noodles or Kraft dinner pasta, heat that up and add ingredients to dish in microwave, I will have to see. Keep the dishes in fridge and use as a side dish.
EDIT Wanted some mexican rice so got some old elpaso mexican rice and Ben's mexican rice to try that one out. So if get burritos all would be 28 dollars. I can live with that.
EDIT 2 Allowed another order, got the frozen lasagne, 5 of them and some Oh Henry bars. Still around 20 bucks, they will arrive couple hours later.
Meal this morning will probably be a couple of eggs, premade rice flavoured with a lot of garlic while cooking, lentils as well. Not sure how much of those. Could also add a single mini pot pie to the rice, whipped up eggs and lentils. Microwave for likely 5 mins at least since I have a low wattage 700 W microwave. I will post if good. I sometimes forget about the fact it was good and posting but if it was bad, would post that too. I will also post meal made once the mexican rice and ham arrives. Not sure about burritos but that is fine. I can always put further orders in and if no burritos, no charge.
MEAL EDIT 1 used 3 eggs, 1/3 cup lentils, 1 mini pot pie and some premade rice, also had a hasbrown added. The rice was flavoured accidentally with sloppy joe stuff. Once rice done, dumped all ingredients in the bowl, eggs already whisked up. Heated 6 min 30 seconds and brought out, binders were a small amount of queso and small amount of plain mayo. It was yummy but too filling so put rest in a container to have at another meal.
As said earlier, have a happy 4th, in pockets for all as well.

Just want to say Happy Fourth and 250th to all of us Americans on the forum. I won't be doing much myself today, but having a nice meal and watching all of the (illegal) fireworks going off in my neighborhood as I sit on my apartment balcony. I did go out to lunch yesterday with a friend and we went to a restaurant along the sound (Puget Sound), in a smaller town nearby, and really enjoyed the view as always, the sun, and that holiday feel that everyone seemed to be getting into. Lots and lots of people out walking along a boardwalk at the marina there and just having a really nice time. A highlight was when we were driving back through the town and could see that the main street had become lined with chairs that people were setting up to watch what was presumably to be a parade later on. It was real nice to see some real Americana - a small town getting ready for a 4th of July and 250th parade in the old fashioned way without any of the current national troubles and/or influence. Take care everyone and have a wonderful day!๐๐ฅ๐๐

Belated Happy 4th all. I hope you enjoyed a good bar-b-q or maybe a burger and hot dog? Some of my family in PA were able to see the largest Steam Engine Train travel thru their town. This year we stayed home. The heat is so hard on my body due to MS. The heat index here today was 105. I just don't know how most European countries do not have AC. I understand they are suffering from an intense heat wave also. No rain, so it did not cool off this evening.
DH and I celebrated our 47th anniversary (July 4) a day early. Thru the years we have learned not to celebrate on the 4th and most of our favorite restaurants are closed and those that are open are swamped. So we celebrated at our favorite Italian restaurant on July 3rd. Wonderful meal and the owner surprised us with a gifted Terimisu. Please do not tell them it's not my favorite but boy does DH love it. Plus the portions were so huge, we enjoyed our left overs for lunch today. I dressed in a lovely silk dress I recently bought and carried two gardenias with me. I love the smell so and carried a bouquet on my wedding day. I am so blessed to have a great husband.
@mara51506 I love your attitude that equates to "don't worry, be happy". It serves well if more people would adopt that policy. Congratulations on a clean scan. May you have many, many more! The leaking from bathroom would have me concerned about the floor boards. Is their a plan in place how they will rectify that?
@tanya_djamila Oh the gathering of your family in a lovely locations sounds just what you need. I hope you get some great memories and have a wonderful and blessed time. Hope your Mom is feeling better.
@threetree It must have been so gorgeous to enjoy the Puget Sound area. Patriotic times warm my heart and I'm glad you enjoyed your time out and about with a friend.
Started Ibrance on July 3rd, after a month break from the drug. I'm not sure any infections really cleared up during this time frame. Could not locate a dentist in network for the failed root canal. Hoping to get Humana to extend benefits to someone, anyone at this point. Warning next post may be TMI, but I really need some help on the subject. I've been on antibiotics 4 times already this year for UTI.. Twice there was a small drop of blood from the ureathra area in the last few months. I visited ER with severe flank pain and what I believed to be a more complicated UTI. I had a hysterectomy 35 years ago and never had any problems till now. Those kidney stones really took a lot out of me. Now I believe it's serious as scanning showed either blood particles in bladder or swelling of the bladder. I have noticed discharges in my underpants. Haven't had that problem since hysterectomy. Can't get an appt with urologist until end of August. Symptom wise still have pain/burning and disrupted flow of urine. Tested negative for UTI. A quick google search showed harmless causes due to estrogen reduction up to cancer. August is such a long way away to wait. Has anyone had these problems or suggestions. I drink tons of water, take cranberry gummies everyday and drink cranberry juice. No carbonated drinks.,
Thanks for reading and may you have wonderful, cooler days ahead and clean scans.

Irish - Happy Anniversary! 47 is a long time to be married. We will celebrate 48 in August and our best friends celebrate 50 in December. Our daughter will celebrate 17 in October and recently found out that 2 couples they know have filed for divorce. So very sad.
5 -
@irishlove Happy Anniversary! I have been married for 54 years now and am thankful for a DH who stands by me during this whole ordeal. I have been battling a UTI for a few weeks now. I chose to go the virtual appointment route and first was put on Keflex which didn't work and then on the Nitrofurantoin. So far it has worked, but if it comes back I will need to go in for a UA lab test and see what else is going on. I get them a couple times a year but so far this one is not too bad. I am allergic to sulfa drugs so there are some things I can't takeโฆI also had a hysterectomy about 35 years ago. August does seem like a long time away for an appointment but I know this is happening a lot now. My MO wanted me to get an appointment right after my next scan next week but they can't get me in for two more weeks after that. I am not happy about it, but I know my MO and she will send a note and/or call me if there is anything concerning. We are monitoring my QOL closely and I will stop chemo if/when things get too bad.
@threetree I was surprised at all the illegal fireworks that our neighbors set off last night. Colorado banned everything and closed all shows but it happened anyway. We figured it would. We have a lovely view from our deck too and it cooled to a nice 70 degrees so it was pleasant to sit with a nice cup of tea and watch. Our dog seemed to tolerate it better than prior years too as it was about a third the usual fireworks. It really is amazing how many people set off the rockets in our area. They only went off until about 11:00 which is still late but not as bad as prior years.
@mara51506 Happy news on a clean scan!

Just chiming in to wish a happy holiday weekend to those in the U.S. Sending hugs all around! ๐

Well my mind has thrown a weird snack/meal idea this way. I actually may try it too. I am thinking of having a bag of popcorn popped up, nothing unusual there but, I think I want to add lentils to it. I know the popcorn is good for the fibre but the lentils are decent for a little bit of protein and they do not alter flavours of other foods. Thinking I will go ahead with that before taking out the trash. Then I would like to get back to gaming for Amazon credit. The current app I use pays in US funds so I get a bit extra on the Amazon.ca site. I would like to get at least half off the cost. Playing a couple games that are easy or have answers online so I can level up faster. I will see, getting tired and bored but even a couple bucks is nice to have.
I must comment that it is too hard to eat lentils in the same container as unpopped popcorn. I managed to eat most of them and avoid the hard crunch of the unpopped popcorn but too much of a pain in the arse to take a spoonful, work on getting just the lentils and spitting the unpopped popcorn back in. Popcorn itself was not bad with the extra butter but geez, what a silly thing. Not doing that again. It all had the nice flavour though.

Yesterday was Gotcha Day to Pebbles, a 2 yr old rescue from Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin. She came from a breeder in the northern part of the state who had her second court case for inappropriate care of 60 dogs. They were all removed by court order. Thankfully Pebbles was not abused but at 2 yrs old she had already had at least 3 litters. Reputable breeders wait until a dog is at least 2 and has all the necessary health clearances. We got lucky with a very low energy dog who wants nothing but lots of love.

@irishlove Happy belated Anniversary, I loved your description of your night ! Sounds like it was so sweet and memorable with your silk dress and flowers, how nice! You amaze me to push through your ailments no matter how uncomfortable you are and make the best of things. I wish I had some insight on your urinary issues but I haven't had a similar situation. Continued prayers for strength and healing๐
@goldensrbest Oh Pebbles you sweet girl, you are going to have the life you deserve now! We always rescue too and it's so gratifying. Enjoy this sweet beautiful girl ๐
@threetree Sounds like you had a really nice day for your 4th. I love to hear the small quaint towns still holding on to traditions.
@mara51506 Pretty good idea with the popcorn getting fiber and protein together. But yeah I can imagine being a bit of a pia, I would be worried about cracking a tooth on the kernels lol. I'm sure you will come up with another tasty popcorn treat.
@shanagirl Thinking of you, hope you have been feeling better๐ค
Had a nice 4th here too, we went to the Jersey shore to visit DD and hubby. I made bbq pulled chicken ,mac n cheese and we had corn on the cobb. We went later in the day to avoid the heat and there was a beautiful ocean breeze, the ocean was 62! Boy was that a relief being our temps at home were over 100. Finished the night off with ice cream and then home to Buster in case he was nervous with the fireworks but he seemed fine. Much needed storms here now , we had some intense storms the past two nights but it is much needed!
Thinking of many here, in your pockets for all your strugglesโค๏ธ
4 -
@cookie54 Yeah, it was a pia for sure. I managed to get the lentils and did not crack teeth on the kernels by spitting back into the container but still, a pretty silly endeavour. Oh well. It did taste good to me. A better option if I want lentils is to take butter I am going to melt and add some pulverized lentils in and melt it. I might try that in a recipe later.
2 -
@goldensrbest Pebbles is precious and glad she has been adopted by your family. Congratulations.
Broken sleep, not in bed terribly late but visited the bathroom what felt like every couple of hours and not sure why. Oh well. Off this week for appointments. Had a couple messes on floor to mop up and tossed the pads in the washer. Still like the swifffer sweeper because it is the lowest profile, others cannot get get as far under things as these do. Reusable is the way to go as well. I was sent some of the mopping pads and dry pads, may use those up later. Made a new wet jet spray, they do not last terribly long. Just had to eject bottle and heat up lid so it softens up the claws that hold the lid on solid. Someone on youtube took out the claws so they can put on the lid and take if off without heat but I do not trust that would not cause a leak in the bottle. Rather use the heat.
Laundry on go, floors constantly on the go, takes about a day for the cats to make the floor look shabby so daily sweeps and light mops are needed. If only spot needs treatment I spray the spot and do a sock mop sweep overtop. Cats getting wet food so Tigger is in bathroom for that so Ava does not get his food.
I plan to do a couple eggs, whisking in some sour cream and butter, adding ham and cheese, keep mixing. The sliced lunch meat type of ham actually heats up for a pleasant taste. I will be adding lentils of course. Everything combined first and then heat for maybe 6 mins in the oven. May also add some of the diced hashbrowns and peppers. Will post, pretty filling meal so may wind up with a meal now and a side dish later. I also want to make some of my knorr meals and put in fridge as sides. First meal needs to be done up as I am hungry.
I am glad the heat broke, I feel locked up if window is not open so if not too muggy or hot. I hope all have a good day, in pockets for appointments or just chilling out and of course in pockets for all.

Good news side, dude who was fixing the toilet area leak is coming back. Cleared out the toilet area and mopped out the section, stuff is in container on the washer and the baskets of stuff are on my bed. Hoping that this resolves the issue.
Holy crap, the fellow lifted the toilet and took out the flooring. The toilet I had not noticed was not reported until the downstairs person getting the leak reported. The flooring was covered in mold, most of the floor was moldy. I could have fallen downstairs while using the toilet. I was lucky it leaked elsewhere because I honestly did not notice much in my place.
6 -
@mara51506 Geez glad that was fixed before anything went wrong! Water can certainly do some damage.
Heavy rain and storms here yesterday, some areas had terrible flooding. Our area was fine and we have cooler weather today๐ฅฐ
Wishing all a peaceful day.

We are muggy, not too hot. Thinking of shutting the window in the living room and putting some fans on. Last night, misjudged the amount of cooling needed, that is for sure. Weird having to wear shoes in the bathroom, there are screws sticking up so completely understand why. I kept the door shut with shoes outside the bathroom so I would not forget, slip the sneakers on like slippers. I am presently doing laundry that desperately needs to be done so will get as much done as possible, moved stuff on top of washers so not much to put away. I am grateful for the toilet, he is supposed to be back by 9 today. Not sure how long it will take to be finished. Moved some stuff over to opposite end of the tub and will get a bag for the lose screws hanging around, found one on the floor when walking to living room.
He is putting a new floor today so will not bother him too much. I changed before he came. Moved around stuff that was in the tub as well, it is on the rinse cycle and will stay there until he is done.
Yesterday was not a good day for food. Morning just had a piece of ham, cheese and lentils then put a creamy binder. It set off my digestive system on a day I could not be in and out of bathroom as needed. Too much fat. Will be eating more balanced meals today. Thinking of hashbrowns, eggs and lentils and a more moderate amount of cheese and binding. I am still liking to use the microwave for stuff. Lot of the flavour will be of the dry variety and less crazy on the liquid binders. Fat is needed but not a meal that is almost entirely fat. Also need to use more ham as well. Will post if they are good.
EDIT 1 Took the time for a restroom break, vanity not in there so washed hands in sink in kitchen and took time to feed both cats, had to use cane to make a space for her to leave bedroom. I am not able to sidle between vanity and fridge. I did have one of the frozen pizzas, put some peppers in and put on some cheese and ham. No additional stuff put on and it was good. Believe the worker will be done today. Most of the work was scraping the many layers of flooring. My place just piled on new layers. Oldest floor was some vinyl old timey flooring. Thinking of supper now, thinking I would like to try uncle bens mexican rice, probably open another can of lentils and debating about chopping up black beans to keep on the side as well, waiting for worker to finish today.
Beyond that, nothing on the go except a prescription being delivered today, hope all have a good day and in pockets for all.
4 -
Floor and toilet are done. After he managed to get all the old flooring up, he put down the new stuff. I noticed that there is a half step that would be easy to trip over, took a small step, I was using that to get into bed but don't use it right now. I put that in front of the bathroom exit, too easy to trip and do not trust myself not to when I use the bathroom through the night. The worker is coming back, says he has 3 tiles to put up then all is done. Not sure why they were not done but I am not concerned. He will be back tomorrow. Once all is finished, I will put stuff back, mostly just do laundry. Got some to spin and then put in the dryer.
Hungry now, Mcdonalds is calling me.
4 -
@mara51506 Glad that the floor and toilet are done. What a relief!
3 -
@chicagoan I am glad the bulk is done, have to watch my step since so much flooring was just put one on top of the other that when it is the right height, it is almost an inch lower. Requires caution. I was going to use a smaller step but I will just step up carefully. I do not mind it all.
EDIT ABOUT STEP. I did go to the bathroom to stop the laundry. Thought I stepped up but almost tripped. My wee step has been installed. Taking no chances, leave in there at night since no longer need it at night. Step bench too high and need to be easy to move when open the linen closet. One thing good is I an mop around toilet because not clogging up the space. Found a home for the vinegar in kitchen.
Got laundry on the go right now, general floor maintenance and to clean the filter on the AC. Blow the machine and run filter under water then run the dryer hanging from the closet in bedroom. Need extension cord for that. No difference than when using the step bench between living room
So yesterday, I decided to mash up black beans and put a can of lentils as well. I do not always need to chop up stuff but this allows for this if I choose and allows me not to waste . I checked my freezer and realized I have a ton of burritos. Not at all sure what I wish to make, my thought may involve the air fryer. Spray a bowl, put couple of eggs, add some ham, cheese, 1/2 cup lentil/bean mix with shredded cheese, let cool and then chop in the larger chopper and warm up in the air fryer, not really cooking, just heat up the air fryer with some dry seasoning, less of the high fat stuff. Need the flavour and do need the fat, just do not need as much as have had before. I will post because quite often, I find I change my mind quite often.
EDIT MEAL 1 Ordered Mcdonalds breakfast.
My tiles were put in, was asked not to remove tape til tomorrow so I won't
I do hope all have a good day and in pockets for all including myself to get stuff done in a timely fashion.
4 -
Had a fairly short sleep in bed though did sleep in evening for couple of hours so that is good too.
My laundry is on the go, nothing on the agenda except making mexican rice. Serve along with the bean/lentil mix and eggs with cheese. Microwave the egg, ham I will add too, and microwave first 4 mins or so. Once done and cool can chop in with some cheese and some leftover doritios. Once that is done, take the air fryer out and dump those in, probably add some queso and gave a really good stir. That sounds good to me. I ate terribly yesterday but finished the day with peanut butter. No nutrition in that. I will do better today. Post if meal is good of course.
EDIT re food. Decided to try the uncle Ben's mexican rice, have never used or eaten before so no separate cook needed. What I will do is do up eggs, some ham and the lentil/bean mix. Heat them through, chop up with cheese. Dump eggs, ham, eggs and cheese into the air fryer, dump rice in there. May steam it a bit on the stove to soften it up, I do not know yet.
Part 2 of the meal and notes, the Uncle Ben's did taste good but required a lot of chopping into with a fork to break it up. It was not too bad. No eggs used but did use some torn up ham, bit of shredded cheese and 1/3 cup of bean ad lentil mix. I used my hand to mix all ingredients together first then microwaved for 3 mins since rice already came cooked and lentils and ham did not need to much done. No chopper needed. It was a really good meal, lower fat with less sour cream used to bind everything but was lovely.
LAST PART ON FOOD Essentially the same as the first meal bean/lentil combo 1/3 cup of that, torn up ham and shred cheese, again mixed everything together by hand and heated for 4 mins, was pretty good.
Although the fellow was nice, I am happy to have a quiet house. Getting used to using a minor step, I think it is around half the height of my stepbench set up between living room and kitchen that I used to trip over. I figure now that it is right in front of me, avoid a potential fall. especially since it is gray, I cannot miss it.
I did do stage one of floors, do the mop, follow along with swiffer sweeper to dry and finally use my vacuum sweeper, works well. Took less than 5 mins, once or twice a week, take out stuff from under couch, use the swiffer sweeper to put it all the way under the couch none of my other stuff will do that. I am still in love with the reusable pads and the trick to get the lid off the cleaning solution. My cleaning solution is a bit of water and vinegar, 1 to 1 ratio, a tiny squirt of dish soap and that is about it.
Not too else to say, I hope all have a good day and in pockets for everyone.
4 -
Shorter sleep, slept on couch then forgot to turn on my rain hypnosis, it is a subliminal pain message. I cannot really hear the fellow talk between all the rain, hear the odd voice but that is OK. Feeling good.
Meals will still have beans/lentils in meals. My first thought is to make an egg in the mini griddle, they come out perfect from there. An egg, hashbrowns and rice possibly, not to sure yet. Option two would be to microwave the eggs, diced hashbrowns and some peppers and add some beans/lentil mix. I will post once decided.
Laundry will be done, floors as always, realizing I have overdone brooms. Got three swiffer floor products, two wet jets because the sprayer broke on one of them. If I do not find I am using it at all can decide to dispose of it and keep the working one. I will see. Beyond that there is nothing on the agenda, perhaps some budget boosting games. I am playing a game called word stacks which I normally suck pretty hard on as level goes up but I am a little cheater in order to keep leveling up. Get the answers online. I am working toward a snack.
I hope all have a good day and in pockets for all.
4 -
I see people are busy, that is good possibly or busy if having appointments.
I have nothing on the agenda, tomorrow will get up earlier so I can book my Paratransit for my Herceptin infusion on Wednesday.
Got laundry on the go, later floors get done. I have found the stool in the bathroom to kitchen entry makes me feel safer. When need to open linen closet, move the stool out of the bathroom then bring back once done. Already blew out the window AC. I like the window AC better now that I understand the settings. It is manual, not digital. I have to turn the temp down at night or I will freeze once door is shut. Just have it cold and running with a fan to the living room. It is comfortable.
Decided to order a burger and onion rings. I put some lettuce, olives, bacon and cheese with garlic mayo. Also got cinnamon donuts as well. I did not order from McDonalds but the old burger joint I used to use. I am looking forward to it.
I hope all have a good day and in pockets for all.

@mara51506 - Just want to say thanks for helping @micmel keep this thread going. It is so important and vital to so many of us. Without your and Mel's help, we wouldn't have our lovely group here. I really appreciate you keeping up with at least one daily post. It lets us know that things are still "up and running". You have a good day also, and in your pocket.

@mara51506 Glad to see you finding ways to stay safe and fed. Yes, this forum hasbeen a little quiet lately.
I fell Thursday morning and broke my leg. I was returning from my morning bathroom duty, was dizzy and tried to make it back to bed but passed out before I got there. I bumped my head and broke my lower left fibula on the way to the floor and have no idea how long I was unconscious. At first I thought I just sprained it so I just went to urgent care knowing they can do an x-ray there, but nope, it is broken. I have an appointment Monday to see an orthopedic doctor and figure out what to do next. In the meantime I am wearing a walking boot. They tell me they don't apply casts anymore but I do feel insecure with just a boot. It hurts when I move it and especially walk on it but there is almost no pain when just sitting. I feel very helpless but fortunately my DH can help me. He tries although he was not raised where the husband did any housework, and he doesn't cook, but since my dx 10 years ago he is learning. He tells me that since I have been waiting on him for the past 54 years, it is his turn and he doesn't mind. Growing old has been interesting!
9 -
@intolight-So sorry to hear about your broken leg. I hope that you can get through the weekend without too much pain. I thank God for your husband who is stepping up to care for you. ๐๐๐
@mara51506 That hamburger sounds delicious! Hope you enjoy.
2 -
@intolight - What a terrible ordeal to go through. So glad you are relatively safe now and have your husband to help. Monday isn't too far off. I fell and broke my shoulder a couple of years ago and had to wait to see the orthopedic surgeon, but it all turned out just fine. I think your situation will turn out just fine too, but it is such a shock to fall down like that and be so messed up. I'd thought I'd been hit with a stun gun or something and was very disoriented. Sounds like you too were initially disoriented and "stunned". Just resting like you are doing can be such a help. I thought urgent care could do more than just the x-ray, but maybe not. At least they gave you a preliminary check out and could tell you didn't need any immediate emergency care, so I think that's a good sign. Take it easy this week-end, and have a good appointment on Monday. I'm in your pocket and will be thinking of you. Hugs.
5 -
@threetree Urgent care was fine. The doctor said he would want a brain CT and they can't do that urgent care. He said he couldn't fully assess a head injury without one except that I appeared oriented, no slurred words or vision, all the outward signs of concussion. Besides being a RN, my DD has a master's degree in kinesiology and athletic training so she can assess a concussion from the field enough to know whether I needed an ambulance, etc. The UC doc had to cover his behind and I get that. My oncologist has expanded the PET scan to a full body scan to catch anything else and my DD is watching me closely so I should be fine.
