Belated Happy 4th all. I hope you enjoyed a good bar-b-q or maybe a burger and hot dog? Some of my family in PA were able to see the largest Steam Engine Train travel thru their town. This year we stayed home. The heat is so hard on my body due to MS. The heat index here today was 105. I just don't know how most European countries do not have AC. I understand they are suffering from an intense heat wave also. No rain, so it did not cool off this evening.

DH and I celebrated our 47th anniversary (July 4) a day early. Thru the years we have learned not to celebrate on the 4th and most of our favorite restaurants are closed and those that are open are swamped. So we celebrated at our favorite Italian restaurant on July 3rd. Wonderful meal and the owner surprised us with a gifted Terimisu. Please do not tell them it's not my favorite but boy does DH love it. Plus the portions were so huge, we enjoyed our left overs for lunch today. I dressed in a lovely silk dress I recently bought and carried two gardenias with me. I love the smell so and carried a bouquet on my wedding day. I am so blessed to have a great husband.

@mara51506 I love your attitude that equates to "don't worry, be happy". It serves well if more people would adopt that policy. Congratulations on a clean scan. May you have many, many more! The leaking from bathroom would have me concerned about the floor boards. Is their a plan in place how they will rectify that?

@tanya_djamila Oh the gathering of your family in a lovely locations sounds just what you need. I hope you get some great memories and have a wonderful and blessed time. Hope your Mom is feeling better.

@threetree It must have been so gorgeous to enjoy the Puget Sound area. Patriotic times warm my heart and I'm glad you enjoyed your time out and about with a friend.

Started Ibrance on July 3rd, after a month break from the drug. I'm not sure any infections really cleared up during this time frame. Could not locate a dentist in network for the failed root canal. Hoping to get Humana to extend benefits to someone, anyone at this point. Warning next post may be TMI, but I really need some help on the subject. I've been on antibiotics 4 times already this year for UTI.. Twice there was a small drop of blood from the ureathra area in the last few months. I visited ER with severe flank pain and what I believed to be a more complicated UTI. I had a hysterectomy 35 years ago and never had any problems till now. Those kidney stones really took a lot out of me. Now I believe it's serious as scanning showed either blood particles in bladder or swelling of the bladder. I have noticed discharges in my underpants. Haven't had that problem since hysterectomy. Can't get an appt with urologist until end of August. Symptom wise still have pain/burning and disrupted flow of urine. Tested negative for UTI. A quick google search showed harmless causes due to estrogen reduction up to cancer. August is such a long way away to wait. Has anyone had these problems or suggestions. I drink tons of water, take cranberry gummies everyday and drink cranberry juice. No carbonated drinks.,

Thanks for reading and may you have wonderful, cooler days ahead and clean scans.

Irish - Happy Anniversary! 47 is a long time to be married. We will celebrate 48 in August and our best friends celebrate 50 in December. Our daughter will celebrate 17 in October and recently found out that 2 couples they know have filed for divorce. So very sad.

@irishlove Happy belated Anniversary, I loved your description of your night ! Sounds like it was so sweet and memorable with your silk dress and flowers, how nice! You amaze me to push through your ailments no matter how uncomfortable you are and make the best of things. I wish I had some insight on your urinary issues but I haven't had a similar situation. Continued prayers for strength and healing💕

@goldensrbest Oh Pebbles you sweet girl, you are going to have the life you deserve now! We always rescue too and it's so gratifying. Enjoy this sweet beautiful girl 😍

@threetree Sounds like you had a really nice day for your 4th. I love to hear the small quaint towns still holding on to traditions.

@mara51506 Pretty good idea with the popcorn getting fiber and protein together. But yeah I can imagine being a bit of a pia, I would be worried about cracking a tooth on the kernels lol. I'm sure you will come up with another tasty popcorn treat.

@shanagirl Thinking of you, hope you have been feeling better🤞

Had a nice 4th here too, we went to the Jersey shore to visit DD and hubby. I made bbq pulled chicken ,mac n cheese and we had corn on the cobb. We went later in the day to avoid the heat and there was a beautiful ocean breeze, the ocean was 62! Boy was that a relief being our temps at home were over 100. Finished the night off with ice cream and then home to Buster in case he was nervous with the fireworks but he seemed fine. Much needed storms here now , we had some intense storms the past two nights but it is much needed!

Thinking of many here, in your pockets for all your struggles❤️

@cookie54 Yeah, it was a pia for sure. I managed to get the lentils and did not crack teeth on the kernels by spitting back into the container but still, a pretty silly endeavour. Oh well. It did taste good to me. A better option if I want lentils is to take butter I am going to melt and add some pulverized lentils in and melt it. I might try that in a recipe later.

@mara51506 Geez glad that was fixed before anything went wrong! Water can certainly do some damage.

Heavy rain and storms here yesterday, some areas had terrible flooding. Our area was fine and we have cooler weather today🥰

    Wishing all a peaceful day.

We are muggy, not too hot. Thinking of shutting the window in the living room and putting some fans on. Last night, misjudged the amount of cooling needed, that is for sure. Weird having to wear shoes in the bathroom, there are screws sticking up so completely understand why. I kept the door shut with shoes outside the bathroom so I would not forget, slip the sneakers on like slippers. I am presently doing laundry that desperately needs to be done so will get as much done as possible, moved stuff on top of washers so not much to put away. I am grateful for the toilet, he is supposed to be back by 9 today. Not sure how long it will take to be finished. Moved some stuff over to opposite end of the tub and will get a bag for the lose screws hanging around, found one on the floor when walking to living room.

He is putting a new floor today so will not bother him too much. I changed before he came. Moved around stuff that was in the tub as well, it is on the rinse cycle and will stay there until he is done.

Yesterday was not a good day for food. Morning just had a piece of ham, cheese and lentils then put a creamy binder. It set off my digestive system on a day I could not be in and out of bathroom as needed. Too much fat. Will be eating more balanced meals today. Thinking of hashbrowns, eggs and lentils and a more moderate amount of cheese and binding. I am still liking to use the microwave for stuff. Lot of the flavour will be of the dry variety and less crazy on the liquid binders. Fat is needed but not a meal that is almost entirely fat. Also need to use more ham as well. Will post if they are good.

EDIT 1 Took the time for a restroom break, vanity not in there so washed hands in sink in kitchen and took time to feed both cats, had to use cane to make a space for her to leave bedroom. I am not able to sidle between vanity and fridge. I did have one of the frozen pizzas, put some peppers in and put on some cheese and ham. No additional stuff put on and it was good. Believe the worker will be done today. Most of the work was scraping the many layers of flooring. My place just piled on new layers. Oldest floor was some vinyl old timey flooring. Thinking of supper now, thinking I would like to try uncle bens mexican rice, probably open another can of lentils and debating about chopping up black beans to keep on the side as well, waiting for worker to finish today.

Beyond that, nothing on the go except a prescription being delivered today, hope all have a good day and in pockets for all.

Floor and toilet are done. After he managed to get all the old flooring up, he put down the new stuff. I noticed that there is a half step that would be easy to trip over, took a small step, I was using that to get into bed but don't use it right now. I put that in front of the bathroom exit, too easy to trip and do not trust myself not to when I use the bathroom through the night. The worker is coming back, says he has 3 tiles to put up then all is done. Not sure why they were not done but I am not concerned. He will be back tomorrow. Once all is finished, I will put stuff back, mostly just do laundry. Got some to spin and then put in the dryer.

Hungry now, Mcdonalds is calling me.

@mara51506 Glad that the floor and toilet are done. What a relief!
