They have various tasks…painting or putting stuff away, clearing things or prepping for contests they occasionally have. Not sure if my "skills" would be helpful, but I can offer it. Not far from home so if I'm not useful, I can go back home. Leafy green salads were our mainstay when DH was alive…various proteins tossed in…I haven't been able to do it yet. Haven't been able to find a decent tomato (not trying really hard this year). I have a frozen "log" of mozz cheese for DH's favorite capresse salad….ugh.

I had the opposite problem…..I gained almost 70 pounds in a year….I went from running 90-100 miles a week and eating normally to "depressed eating"and "just sitting there".

The local gun club here is always needing stuff done at the range and I'd guess 90% of the things are only very tangentially related to shooting or firearms. I'm guessing it would be the same there.

This morning I brought in a dozen vine ripened Roma tomatoes from the garden. I rinsed one off and ate it like a peach. It was wonderful and far better than the store bought ones.
