We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out.

@betrayal - Re the Ray Bradbury quote, I think I'd want to keep a lot of that beautiful stuff in! I think it's a balance.

We had a good farmers market yesterday with sales that kept us involved and made the four hours pass quickly. The weather was perfect, sunny with a high in the mid 70's. August weather is a welcome change from the hot July. People who live here are beginning to lament the end of summer. For us, winter doesn't begin until November at home in Louisiana.

We still have some nice wooden bowls, but all the larger eye-catching items have found homes. We have no large bowls left. Two more weekends to go. After Labor Day weekend, we will end our season. Some vendors, especially those with veggies, will continue for two more weekends until the market officially closes.

DH refuses to cut prices because he thinks it isn't fair to buyers who paid full price. I know how I feel when I buy a garment full price and later see it on a sales rack for half price. On the flip side, my size in that garment may be sold out.

DH mentioned making another bike ride today on a different section of the paved bike trail.

    Happy Sunday to everyone.

Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

suzieq, hope the chemo is kind to you as far as SE's. I am in Delco in PA so not far from you and I explore Lancaster at least twice a year to visit stores. I do miss all the great stores that used to be there such as Basketville, Lenox outlet and the now closed outlet there.

carole, happy to hear your DH had great sales at the weekend market. I just learned the carved wood wine stopper that my DSIL gave me for my birthday was one carved by her DF. When he died she found a treasure trove of woodwork he used to make to sell at flea markets, too. She sent me photos of a large table covered with bowls and other pieces. Her DD's got to pick pieces they wanted and she is gifting some to family and friends. I feel blessed to have received this lovely one. It's quite decorative. What a nice skill set to have and a nice hobby for your DH, too.

cindyny, you have really been busy and I love all the photos you have posted. Sounds like the concert was good, too.

I had lymphedema PT today now that she has returned from her vacation. My surgical scar is a major problem due to rigidity of tissue and location. I lost a lot of the lymphedema aids I had when we had the tree strike in 2019. I think they were tossed by the workers who were told to clear the room including opening an armoire and bureau drawers that were not effected. Medicare won't pay for some, so we are evaluating whether I need to replace them. In the meantime she made some from stockinette covered foam that I can wear in my bra. Buying bras when you have 2 different sized breasts is a real challenge; the radiated one is about 2/3 the size of the other and it doesn't fill the cup. I really like this PT and wish I had heard of her directly after my radiation when all this nonsense started. Perhaps it would not have progressed to this point.

I haven't worked outside for the past 2 days. Yesterday was a nice day, but I had no mulch. I do have a bush that needs to be trimmed and another that I want to trim the vine that is covering it. I cut the vine at the base, but I want to pull off the vine attachment to a tree next to it.

DH got me 9 more bags of mulch and if we get no rain tonight, I plan on working on spreading them tomorrow. If the ground is wet, given we have steep slopes, I can't work on them due to sliding or falls. We had an overnight storm last night. Once I get these down, I will have spread 100 bags done. I still have a "to-do" list of items I haven't addressed yet such as painting the large metal butterfly I started several years ago and have yet to finish. DH is still working on the edging around the patio, so we are holding off on applying sand to fill the spaces between the flagstones.

DGS and DGD started school today and I was mistaken about DGD, she is actually going into 5th grade. She will be 11 in October. He's a junior. Wow, where did that time go?

Today was a lovely day, too. I was working on the counted cross stitch and it is driving me batty since it has 5 different shades of baby blue from medium down to very light and that last one is hard to differentiate from white even in daylight. I need a better light source, but then I have to make sure it doesn't wash out the color. My eyes are old and blue is one of the first colors to dim in the spectrum when we age. Then there are also 5 varieties of charcoal gray for an even more fun challenge. If I finish this, it will truly be a labor of love for DD and DSIL.

Hope everyone had a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.
