@cookie54 Yes the caring people certainly outnumber the bad eggs that is for sure.

Slept OK, got up, started a large laundry much to my cats' chagrin, they wanted food, they endeavoured to trip me by staying under foot but were unsuccessful, guess in a cat's mind, any way to get attention is good. 😂

Not sure on meals yet today. I still like throwing everything in the rice maker, does not burn at all. The meat pie cooked first in the microwave was really good with the diced potatoes turning into proper potatoes and of course the lentils. I do have leftovers from yesterday so will start with that and add to it. If good will post on it. Also working on finishing up my wee yogurts. Was debating using one of them to add to a rice and beans with lentils dish and add a bunch of seasoning to it. If it works out, may buy some plain yogurt later. Also debating using some of my boxed stove top stuffing, add to diced potatoes, lentils and the like. Treat my rice cooker like a small crock pot and that seems to work. Air fryer still does hashbrowns and other stuff I prefer to be crunchy.

MEAL 1 Put leftovers from yesterdays meal, dumped in rice cooker, put some extra beans and lentils and put in 1/3 cup chicken stuffing and some canned chicken. Used steak seasoning and garlic butter seasoning as well so meal may taste a bit salty, I will post on taste, rice cooker is doing 1 hour 20 mins with stirs and will bind with mayo, not add salt to the finished product. It really tasted good, turned the stuffing into proper stuffing and that did go well with the chicken. I was also finishing up leftovers from yesterday, delicious to be sure.

MEAL 2 will be simpler, sourdough english muffin buttered and toasted, I let it cool down and add an obscene amount of peanut butter but that will be later on.

I do hope all have a great day, in pockets for all for appointments, SE or just hoping for good days for us all.

I am still posting as well. Good sleep, laundry on go, floors to be done and of course the whole what foods do I want to have. If want rice cooker stuff, eggs, beans, lentils, rice and cheese could be a good combo, small amounts of each with seasoning of choice.

MEAL1 Weird. Got the 1/4 cup measures of rice, lentils and beans. 1/4 cup water. Weird ingredient is one of my lightly strawberry yogurt for extra protein, added cheese/taco seasoning, sour cream seasoning and some garlic, been going up to the cooker every once in a while, give a stir and a taste. I can barely pick up any yogurt taste but it is tasting pretty good. I also added some shredded cheese too. I will post again. I do have the cooker set to brown rice which is timed for 80 mins.

Meal 1 was freaking delicious. The amazing combo of above ingrededients tasted so good I was saying mmm the whole time. I was smart for adding savoury flavours to reduce the strawberry flavour. Lots of proteins, fibre from lentils/beans and rice with some canned chicken. It was great and finished the whole thing.

I will post meals as I do and hope all have good days, I am in pockets for those feeling the effects of today's date as well.

@micmel - Thanks so much for checking in - it's always so nice to hear from you. I absolutely share your thankfulness for everyone here, and the fact that we have each other for love and support. Such a somber day. Sending hugs and best wishes to you. Good thoughts for all of your family too.

I did not sleep at all, was doom scrolling watching videos, not 911 all night but did watch silly videos to lighten my mood.

I got all laundry from yesterday done up, Just need to remove cloths from dryer. More laundry will acrue as the day goes on.

I am reading on Facebook those cheap meal ideas but decided to put that on the wayside, I find myself triggered by some of what people are buying and all the rude comments to the posters. I have mentioned what I eat if a post is asking that but largely stay mum unless poster is asking for ideas as a single person. My ideas may sound weird but those Knorr Pasta sides or even Kraft Dinner can be split up easy, KD cheese pack can also be added to taco or cheese seasoning as an add in to rice, beans and cheese. A box of the KD noodles usually lasts for 3 to 4 meal additions and different seasonings. Beans and lentils go without saying, I have some of each on the regular. Can turn diced hash browns into real potatoes. I am thinking Thanksgiving, we celebrate before US and I can see turning say canned turkey, some of the stuffing with lentils and beans and rice on the bottom. Cheap enough to buy stuff to make up gravy. Will keep pondering on that and meals.

MEAL 1. I put in a couple of frozen hashbrowns, 3 eggs, 1/3 cup lentils, 1/3 cup rice as well. 1/3 cup water. Added some ranch dressing, not much, don't want soup. Added taco seasoning and a generous amount of the sour cream and onion seasoning. Shredded cheese handful added in and then I set rice cooker to brown rice setting which for me is 80 minutes. In that time I did stir it around. When taken out with the scoop, plated some and could not finish the plate, it was delicious but super filling. I LOVED this combo. My thoughts are should have another couple of meals for sure. Looking at some burrito and a side of this stuff.

Laundry, floors, food and such will all feature in my day, will find a light movie to watch or watch people on youtube play my favourite video games. Listening to the player comment is fun and reminds me of being a kid watching other people both in arcades back in the day and my brothers play them too and just enjoy the comeraderie. Lets me see games I cannot afford and it is a lot of fun.

Oh well, nothing on the agenda for now, will post meals here as usual, I hope all have a good weekend and in pockets for all.

I did wind up on a mall walk of all things with DB and SIL. I did sit down a few times when SIL stopped in stores that was fine, she wanted me to walk slower, no heavy breath but legs were protesting. I skipped No Frills shop and we went to mcdonalds. Had a happy meal, cheeseburger, mini fries and apple juice. They give a squeeze yogurt type of thing which I just finished. Nice to see them, brought up to date on stuff they are doing as well which is good.

@chicagoan Surprisingly, I am not feeling sore muscles, not sure why but am glad for that, just glad to see them again. Also managed to not do a lot of shopping at the mall too. Got some soap at Bath and Bodyworks. They wanted me to spend 25.00 to get 5 but I do not need that much, one was plenty for 7 bucks instead.

Nothing on agenda for today. I did spend the night going to the bathroom but do not usually drink that much before bed, annoying but slept well in between. Floors, cat area, laundry and possible blankets need doing, I will see about that.

Meals will be featuring a lot of lentils, black beans and rice or pasta, have not decided yet. I have also discovered an enjoyment of adding a bit of stuffing mix, not the whole box into the mix as well, gives a good flavour, must check fridge as I know I have leftovers from yesterday. Post as usual once decided.

MEAL 1 I am eating up a few of the leftovers from yesterday so egg will be included. I then added some Kraft Dinner noodles, lentils and black beans along with rest of a tin of chicken. Put a couple of spicy taco shells in. Gives some good background flavour. I also put in around 5 sour cream and onion rings on top to add flavour. I set it for a soup setting although it is not soup because gives a nice long 90 minutes. I will be stopping by to stir everything together and all will be combined. I will post reaction to it.

MEAL 1 REACTION It did taste really good, glad I did not put in cheese or more eggs, would have been too much, believe there are still leftovers left from other day which I will add to a plate with a burrito and a few lentils. It really was delicious.

I hope all have a good day and in pockets for all.

@mara51506 Nice to hear you got out to the mall with your brother and sil! I'm sure you had lots to catch up on while strolling, I hope your sil is feeling well. Well you must be keeping your legs in good shape for walking, glad you didn't feel sore after. Love smelling all the scents at Bath & Body glad you treated yourself to some soap. I'm starting to burn my Fall candles, they're my favorite scents to enjoy. Think I will do some Fall decorating this week also, the temps are in the 70's today and tomorrow so it will get me in the mood for cozy sweater weather soon!

Drove back from the wedding in torrential rain, was a white knuckle drive. Then by the afternoon the weather cleared and the sun was shining for the Eagles home opener. Spent the afternoon watching football and relaxing as I never sleep well in hotels. Eagles got the win and I'm looking forward to the season, plus the Phillies are on doing well.

Hi to all here, in your pocket for all needs this week ahead💕

@cookie54 Glad you made it through the rain, see you are a football fan. My DB was a big fan of the Bears. I do remember William the Refrigerator Perry back in the day. My family DB, younger brother were the football watcher, DB used to put on Superbowl snacks which was my favourite part. I put on my own Superbowl snack day and aim to see the halftime show.

Nothing on agenda today, debating a trip on Paratransit to use up some extra points earned on grocery card as I have not figured out how to link up to do the grocery delivery stuff. No big deal.

Laundry, floors and figuring out meals are my main thing to do today, also need to organize couple boxes for recyle, those go out Tuesday. I also managed to make the cat area smell good with a thorough clean out, I got up and thought wow. I always scoop twice a day but the deodorizer and baking soda mixed in works well.

My food is feeling like an egg, lentils, beans and even some dry lentils. Need small amounts since I want multiple things going on, I will likely add some proper rice in there, got a full box of it that is unopened and lots to use in the airtight container. Snacks can be taking a 1/3 cup of Kraft dinner noodles, put the water and a small amount of garlic and the cheese and taco seasoning.

EDIT 1 Found the leftovers of meal made in past couple weeks so dumped that in a bowl with mashed black beans, lentils and put in one of my many mini pot pies. Wanted done quicker so put a 4 min microwave timer, I can just mix together.

EDIT2 I put together a cheap shop on instacart. Got some snack foods, cheddar and sour cream, no name brand, got no name pizza and oh henry bars, been mad craving that kind of chocolate. My plan is to cook up whole pizza and put extra pieces in fridge. If cooked up I can slice the pizza and put in containers. Also if cooked up can add pizza to other meals by throwing it in the rice cooker. Total was 19 bucks including charges. More food and less money than if I did skip the dishes. I do think I am safe enough letting go of the Walmart+ which requires a 35 minimum spend and by the time all taxes and that are added tend to swing to the 50 to 60 dollar range. Instacart has Walmart anyway and minimum spend for a lot of the stores is 10.00 which keeps stuff in 20 to 25 range which is better.

I decided to cook up the whole pizza I got and add extra shredded cheese on top, have a couple of slices and put rest in fridge to be used with other meals. Probably involving the rice cooker. Just have to heat it up first before rice cooker.

The pizza tasted surprisingly good for a store brand and only costing 3.50. I had quite a bit of it, only added the shred cheese mentioned earlier. I did wind up broiling the top of the pizza after the normal cooking time as it felt underwhelming and it turned it into a crispier finish. I probably ate at least 1/3 or possibly half the pizza. For dessert I had two of the Oh Henry bars, I had a craving and don't feel bad at all about that. Looking forward to the different dish combos bits of the pizza and other things that can come out of the rice cooker. Having extra pizza just lets me do crazy things.

I hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for appointments, or just hopes for a great day for us all.

I slept alright, was in bed at reasonable hour for a change, did accidentally set alarm an hour earlier, that is fine though. I did give some thought about the Holter thing, I think post today, nothing wrong with phoning and asking what is up with the Holter since other echos have all been fine. Take care of that question later though. Whether I wear it or not, just a good idea to know if anything changed or if normal as I age.

Laundry, floors, cat area will be started or complete by 8 or 830. Can start more laundry or whatever. Breaking down some boxes as well to take out next recycle/garbage. I will say, the sensitive stomach food has really helped Tigger out since he rarely has a digestive issue anymore, just normal furball once in a while.

I am craving more normal type food for breakfast. Might just make up an egg in mini griddle, do up hashbrowns in the air fryer with an english muffin, thinking about it any way, burrito and lentils with beans might be good too. I will post later.

MEAL 1 I will be making 1/4 cup lentils, 1/4 cup black beans/1/4 cup white rice and some shredded cheese. Mash up the beans, discovered my meat masher pulverizes the black beans without needing to pull out the chopper. Putting all of them into the rice cooker with a boat load of cheese/taco powder combo to give flavour, dollop of mayo after. If having that much stuff, skip the burrito til later today after I get home.

UPDATE MEAL 1 It was filling and did taste good.

I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for all with appointments or even to celebrate good things going on.

@mara51506 I agree it's definitely worth inquiring about the holter monitor. , Nobody feels like dealing with another test etc but it would be nice to know what they're thinking. At least it's certainly one of the easier tests to have so that's a positive. Keep us posted…..

Inspired by the cooler weather to decorate for Fall, it's one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. I love the colors and the fact that I can keep them up through Thanksgiving. I didn't purchase any mums yet since we're still have some summer like days, will wait a couple weeks.

Hope everyone is having a decent week🍁🎃

I find it funny that I need to get ready in stages as I lose steam quickly.

Brush teeth, shave my whiskers, lost hair on head, getting whiskers post menopause from years ago. Wash face then take some bb cream and moisturizer, Put all over face, if looks like too much, wash and dry hands and blend again. I do not wear heavy makeup, some blush and bit of pinkish lipstick. I do wear glasses with a wig as it all makes me look younger. I love my short haired blonde with brown roots wigs, keep bit of my hair poking out, it looks more natural. While the frown lines in between brows are pretty evident, face and eyes are not especially wrinkly. Thanks to my Mom, she had good skin up to hospice. My DB is aging same way.

Next step, get wig on which does not require styling or hair products. I give a longer bang which disguises the frown lines. I may be sick but don't need to look sick. I do not do eye make up, no talent for that if honest and don't like mascara.

@mara51506 it’s not funny you have to get ready in stages. For me it’s exhuastng by the time I’m ready to go out the door. I’m being brief today. My Device is giving me a hard time and i have no p𝚊tience for it specially if i loose everthing i type like I did last week when I typed afew paragraphs about my sadness on 9/11 ; I hate when that happens😡

Good morning @cookie54 and everyone else. Have a great day🩵

@intolight I hear you, guess I will tell myself not to worry about it too much, if I was unable to dress myself, that would suck rocks. It does not take too long to get some colour in my cheeks and wig keeps a decent hairdo with blond hair, brown roots and my own poking out by the ears and back.

Lost first post, unsure where this is landing. Deciding on meals and started to look at the beefless ground but it is more than 4.00 more than it used to be. Thinking the wiser purchase because it has plenty of meat protein are the Swanson meat pies, I have been successful cooking microwave first and then tossing into rice cooker with beans, rice with lentils. I do not have anyright now but may order some. I debated hot dogs but decided against it too. The ham deli slices are cheap and taste good.

I did decide that when shop time comes about, I will buy the beefless ground as I have a plan in mind for them. I can make my own meals, put them together with a bit of beefless ground, black beans, rice and pinto beans. They can stay in the fridge til ready to cook. Put rest of the beefless ground in freezer, separate bowls and freeze, may create bowls that are frozen. I do not have room right now but I really think that could be really good. Most of the stuff goes through the rice cooker anyway, rice can be added raw too. I will see.

MEAL 1 which is in rice cooker now is a combo of leftover pizza and leftovers from a previous rice dinner, putting on a long cook setting and instead of plain water, took the rest of a sour cream and lime which was almost out of stuff, adding water and using that. Will this be any good, I don't know but will post on this meal later. I still like my rice cooker.

UPDATE Meal 1 with the pizza, leftovers and extra lentils was actually quite delicious and filling.

Laundry and floors are underway. Floors already mopped and gone over with Swiffer sweeper to dry floor up a bit. Other than that, resisting urge to shop for now but think my idea to split the beefless ground with rice, lentils and beans as other meals gives great use of the beefless ground, stretch use and can still get the meat pies for an extra protein.

I will post all meals today, I do hope all have a good day and I am in pockets for all.

I see people are busy, I can understand that at times.

I slept decently. No agenda, regular laundry, floors and what ever I decide to make up. Pretty sure breakfast will include an egg, drop in a mini pot pie or beefless ground into the rice cooker add lentils and red lentils, trying to use up supplies. Only consideration is to mmake sure that the mini pot pie is microwaved first. I do not trust meat type stuff in there without a preheat. Post what I wound up having and if it was good.

MEAL 1 Decided to use the rice cooker, it is easy to use and clean and no burning of food. I put in a handful of rice, don't know how much, 1/3 cup lentils and two eggs. Added 1/3 cup beefless ground and added some queso with jalepeno too. Put in some diced hashbrowns, will heat for 1hr 20 minutes unless put all together and I do stir here and there to make sure everything is mixed.

Hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for all.

@mara51506 Thank you for keeping this forum busy. Your meals are always interesting.

We looked at a potential cabin to purchase yesterday sharing with my BIL and SIL. It is fairly close (40 minutes) and would be a good outing that isn't a doctor appointment, but it was a mess. There is no way I could even navigate the deteriorated hillside steps to get to the front door which was just plywood—no wonder it was so cheap. There were lots of rot and outside problems and we cancelled the realtor and didn't even go inside although the pictures looked fine. Oh well, we tried although we might keep looking. I don't know how well I would do with anything that isn't flat.

I've been so fatigued from this Xeloda that I'm taking now that I haven't had any real energy to post. I follow along, and try to keep up with people, and I do cheer and lament everyone's ups and downs that I read about, but I have trouble making individual responses, especially, these days. I'm on a lower dose of the drug now, but I understand it could take some time before I notice much difference, if at all. I care and think about all of you and am absolutely with you in spirit and thought. I had a routine oncology follow-up yesterday, and all seems to be fairly stable. My labs came back, and from what I read they look fine, with tumor markers staying really low, but the doctor hasn't weighed in yet with his own assessment and comments. I then went with my friend who kindly drives me to my appointments, out to lunch at a local Thai place. It was a lovely sunny day, with that nice early fall feel in the air, and very good to get out - even if it involved seeing the oncologist. My car needs to go to the shop, and I have no energy to coordinate all that business, so it just sits down in my apartment garage, and I don't go anywhere on my own. Oh for some energy!

@threetree I am sorry Xeloda is being so rough on you. We all understand. I am glad you got to enjoy lunch out even with seeing the onc and not feeling strong. Good friends like that are hard to find. Hoping the med works well for you and you get some energy back. Believe me…I totally understand the not posting thing. Today is at the end of my off week from chemo which is the only reason I am able to function.

@intolight - Hi, and thanks so much for your kind comments. They are uplifting. So far the med is working quite well, and that's part of my dilemma. I don't want to lose the benefit, so I'll put up with the fatigue and muscle and joint problems that I have, but at the same time, I do wish that the lower dose would work just as well and possibly lessen the side effects.

I totally understand that you get this, because you are doing chemo too - mine's just in pill form. I enjoyed reading your story about the cabin, and am sorry that it didn't work out - maybe in the future? I also hope that your chemo works really, really well too!

@threetree I so understand what you are going thru. We all have and I am so sorry you are feeling down about being exhausted and no energy to post and keep up with people. I go MIA for weeks at a time due to feeling the way you are right now. Sometimes just too tired to read posts, let alone commenting. You’ve been thru a lot with the sudden progression, then major med changes, SEs and just dealing emotionally with it all.

Also @threetree are you taking a good supplement to help with the fatique?. I started taking them since leaving the hospital. I was very anemic when I was admitted and they treated me with iron infusions and Phosphorous fruit flavored every day diluted in a cup of water. Also they gave me B-12 tablet under my tongue. Just doing that I came home with so much energy, I couldn’t believe it. So I got some slow acting Iron capsules, phosphorous drops, and some Lion’s Mane capsules, I am taking daily along with a Super B complex and D3. I’ve noticed I’m up all day doing things around the house, cooking more and back to painting , and working with my garden a little bit. I still tire very easily and have to lie down a bit between tasks.. Just do what you can do and don’t worry about not posting, my girl. God Bless you @threetree

    Checking in.

I read every day but I don't post, sorry.

Not much new here. Just taking my oral meds at home- one is twice a day, the other is daily. I don't go back to the MO for a while, so nothing to report. I still have diarrhea issues, and the fatigue (I nap every afternoon). I wish I could do things that I see my friends do.

    Saying HI to all.

@intolight Bummer that the cabin did not work out, but there may be a better one waiting in the wings. I am a firm believer that if it’s meant to be, it will happen for you. Sounds like a great option.🤞🏻

@threetree Ugh , sorry you’re not feeling much better with the fatigue lately. Fingers crossed that there is a reduction in your future and it boosts your energy. I understand it gets tiring to keep pushing through. I feel like many of my days are pushing through trying to keep my life as “ normal “ as possible.🤞🏻

@candy-678 Think of you often as I know you have been limited by your side effects to socialize. Hoping you get at least a couple days on your off week to get out. I know you have been involved with a church you did enjoy and I hope you can get there to see your friends ❌⭕️.

@shanagirl You are a wealth of supplement info, which we appreciate. It’s nice to hear you feel a bit more energized these days, so happy for you❤️

@mara51506 Sounds like you are still enjoying your rice cooker. Seems very versatile which is great! I’m looking forward to soup weather soon! I love the fact to make a decent size pot and it lasts a couple days or freeze it. Will you be making soup this Fall?

Hi to all here, may it be a peaceful day🌻❤️
