a thread for crazy cat ladies! I thought maybe just pics of your own cats, and if there's not enough then just any old cat you can find!

I have 8. Technically only 5 are mine, the others think they live here. Mostly because I feed them with everybody else and they never seem to leave!

Yes the cat picks you. We haven't had another turn up yet. Both of ours chose us. They also preferred a king size bed LOL!

I'm glad Wilson found you and is providing support. Cats can be wonderful. You are both lucky.

One of the hardest things about having cancer was having to have my favorite cat euthanized the day we decided on the mastectomy (after a 2nd invisible tumor was found). She had cancer and the only treatment would have been amputating her leg at the shoulder. We didn't want to put her through that at 12yo. I still miss her. She would sleep curled up with her back against my tummy at night.

Lumpectomy and re-excision followed by mastectomy of right breast. Five years of anastrasole completed.

We had an angel stray kitten show up on the front door right when I was finishing treatment. I really don't think it was a coincidence, as she provided a lot of fun, liveliness, distraction, and drama (drama because we already had two adult cats who weren't exactly thrilled to have a baby sister!).

On the news here this morning a lucky cat story. This black cat was found near death and taken to the vet. The vet deduced the cat had been drinking anti freeze. The antidote was an infusion of vodka (who knew), and luckily one of the vet nurses had a bottle in her bag, that sounds like a discussion for another time.

According to the vet, the cat was "off its tree" and seemed to really enjoy the treatment LOL. My husband thinks the cat may go looking for more anti freeze, just for the treatment. All the cats I have had in the past have been black, nothing would surprise me with them.

Freya - Great story - that is one lucky black cat! Anti-freeze is usually fatal to cats. Vodka - who knew?

They can't find his owners, he has no microchip, so he is now up for adoption. He has been named "Tipsy", love it.

If he wasn't in another state I would offer to take him.

Found a couple of photos of my much missed kitties.

First is Quincy, his owners left him in the house we bought. Passed away at 19

Now Muppet. Had to have him euthanized for parotid cancer when he was at least 13. He was a stray who walked in after Quincy was gone. Dominant Tom in area and a dreadful mess at first. Scarred and almost no fur. We had seen him sleeping in snowbanks in the winter and hubby started feeding him. He soon improved and moved in after a snip job.

Still miss them horribly. Waiting for another stray to pick us!

Our 15yo foster cat was adopted on Sunday! He's gone to a home with a 10yo boy and another 15yo cat. The two cats look alike except for the shade of brown. His new brother is a redder brown. We have paws crossed that it goes well.
