We all do a different take on everything! NM, I thought Bernie meant the site wasn't working right, or posting was not working right? I dunno though. I am gonna copy your recipe too. Never ever used my crock pot, and thats all I want to do this week!! Lori sent me her recipe too. My dad's hawaiian pork didn't turn out yest...I had told HIM how to do it so he bought the pork butt, then left it to my mom to do. Well, it didn't taste right...then he realized she was using a pot roast recipe. The pork roast REALLY needs the liquid smoke, then it gets the smoky bbq taste. Oh well, I try....if he realizes she is not with it anymore, but still wants to leave things up to her, not too much I can do about that. Just got back from looking up his new phone and printing almost 50 pgs of instructions for him since somehow it all got lost or thrown away. Now to pick up a rental car for DH to go up to Knoxville, then we are going out to dinner then to the burlesque show. Interesting evening!!! LOL.

Sorry (yup said it agin) I not too into the lounge right now as I got me a bad case of the vertigo and the typing is making me feel real nauseated........what a pain! The coldly/fluey/ lurgy thing has finally started to clear so at least that's good........now to get rid of the vertigo!

Awww Chrissy...darn vertigo...but glad the cold is easing up. IF the vertigo continues, you can see a specialist and they just do that procedure where they move your head a certain way, bounce it (really, but NOT on de floor), do it again, and that has worked for me when I have gotten it. But mine was never from being sick, I don't think. Usually from flying (duh!). Hope that vertigo just go,go, goes away!!!!! (((ChrissyB)))

I love Coven Kat..so far. I think it will be as great as the last two seasons. I wont give any of it away tho. Have you been watching Once upon A Time and the other one in Wonderland that premiered last night? I just love the TV line ups this time of year and I think I am the only one who watches The Walking Dead but that starts this week too. When are you returning to Maderia? Where are you running into the transportation trouble? I see DL has a flight from HSV going via Atlanta and Dusseldorf into Funchal. When do your parents leave for Hi? 7 weeks is a long time.

NM..I totally agree on the new Yahoo formatting...wth?? If its not broke why fix it. I never thought of having more than one crock pot. Thats a great idea... I had a couple little ones but I dont know what happend to them. I just used my crockpot Wednesday. I never cook with recipe's and just kind of wing it and it always comes out well. I threw in pealed potatoes, chicken broth, cream of chicken, cream of celrea, cheddar cheese soup, frozen corn and I boiled chicken and threw in some bacon and WHALA...Kind of a loaded baked potatoe corn chowdah chicken soup kinda thing..it was awesome...sliced cucumbers , tomatoes with Green Goddess salad dressing and fresh italian break...omg..Im so hungry.
Thanks for everyone's consern about the mold. the problem turned out being an A/C unit malfunktion..its no longer raining in my kitchen and my Landlord said he would have someone come out and take care of the ceiling. So ..we will see what happens.

Hi Loungettes......its getting near candle lighting time...most of my dinner is done....the potato knishes are finishing baking as the roasted garlic, but everything else is done...I'm bummed...I made a rum cake and for some reason the outside kind of burned...more like well done.....I hope it is good....we have a friend coming for Shabbat dinner....he's going through a not so nice divorce...my heart goes out to him.....But I'm kind of embarrassed to serve a dessert that is not perfect!!! unfortunately, don't have time to do anything else....Going to go clean up the kitchen and all the dishes from cooking.....then make the salads......

Bootiful cake 4 . I made apple muffins and lemon poppy seed last night...a dozen...all but one gone when I woke up this morning. That cake is so pretty I wouldnt want to eat it. Glad Rads arent treating you bad...Im a poet and I didnt know it.

I think Dorkie DID go to the ER, at least I hope so. I was at the hootchie coochie show (Burlesque Festival) and trying to text her, but couldn't call. .Cyn, Please spill the beans!!! I can't seem to get anywhere with Delta, and only can get DL to Lisbon, then have to get another carrier to Madeira. Funchal (FNC) will not even come up as a destination with Delta, when I look for flights. How are you seeing it?? Does it connect with Tap Airlines (they partnered with DL yrs ago, but not now)? Or is it KLM or AirFrance that is flying in to Funchal??? I had to call DL before we went out tonight to link our reservations...I have 4 trips booked with them, and only one has 2 of us on the same reservation!!! I also had to decline the chance to bump to 1st when I take my DD1 to Texas, as she would freak out if she had to sit with a stranger. This will be a big test anyway as she has not flown since our horrid flt that turned around and returned to Portugal after already going half way to the US. Oh I thought of you tonight at the Burlesque Festival, there were some performers that had come from Austin, and the MC said that is one of the nicest cities, and so clean. And the female MC mentioned she loves all the food trucks in Austin. And I know you have a loved one there! One perfomer even came over from Amsterdam just for this festival...she was very good....has also been in movies).

ORLA--it is nice to come home and have a hot meal all ready to go in the winter time. Occasionally even in the summer! I need to experiment with more recipes this winter.
Wahine--I think I know the process you are talking about for vertigo. It's a series of head movements that are designed to help little air bubbles in the semi-circular canals move out. The semi-circular canals are the part of the inner ear that tells us up and down and back and forth and side to side. The air pressure changes of flying can cause these little tiny bubbles to form.

CynCyn--I'm a bit of a throw things in and see what happens type of cook too. I do measure that chicken and rice recipe in the little crock pot because if I don't it overflows or scorches.

NM, the stuffed green peppers I made I got online, it's Paula Deens recipe. I liked the time change when the kids were going to school, so in the morning it was so dark while they waited for the bus. Made some pizza sauce yesterday with my left over tomatoes that I did, for DH to have on his Italian sausage sammy and he loved it, so I will be making more today to freeze. Gots to do sumpting wif all dese maters I have.

Another way to add some glamour to your evening is a cheeky Flirtini, perfect for any cocktail hour. This gorgeous drink was made popular by the fabulous foursome in Sex And The City and off-the-wall cult comedy heroes The Mighty Boosh. To give it a more Burlexe and burlesque twist, we advise trying the sweet elixir of a Pink Flirtini.
To make your own, you’ll need to mix 1 oz raspberry vodka, 1/2 oz of Cointreau liqueur, 1/2 oz pineapple juice, a dash of limejuice, champagne a raspberry and a pineapple chunk.
Alternatively, you can make a pitcher half raspberry vodka, a quarter Cointreau, a quarter pineapple juice and add a few dashes of lime juice. Then let the party people add it to their glass with the champagne and fruit.0 -

For Kat's crock pot:
CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP (By JenGirl)
½ tsp garlic
4 oz can of green chili
2 oz jalapenos (optional)
32 oz canned tomatoes
4 chicken (boneless) breasts (can be frozen)
1 can chicken broth (I throw in boullion cube + 1 cup water)
1 onion (quartered)
Put all ingredients into slow cooker. When chicken falls apart (about 4 hours) remove and shred chicken then put back in pot and continue heating for another 30 mins.
Garnish:
Crushed tortilla chips (like Tostitos)
Grated cheddar cheese
3 or 4 slices of avocado
Sour cream
Ladle into a bowl, add crushed chips, cheese, avocado and sour cream. Enjoy!

If anyone wants to make the Kalua Pig (Hawaiian pork), it is soooo ez. And you can add regular bbq sauce if you want it to taste like southern bbq. Just get a nice pork butt roast (4-7 lbs), cut deep slits in it, rub some (1 T?) Hawaiian salt on it (I am sure another big crystal salt will work), then a LOT of Liquid Smoke (it says 1 T, but I use at least 3T or more). Rub the liquid smoke all over it. Just put it in a large crock pot for 8-12 hrs on low, and it is ez to shred, and the liquid makes it so moist. Just try to get the fat off the top of the liquid. Tastes just like Imu Kalua Pig.

We interrupt this cooking class, for an important update. SO put down your dwinks, and pay attention (LOL). Anyway, Dotty has been admitted in the hospital, and its a nicer, new one, and they are taking good care of her. She can even call ANY TIME and order a meal, doesn't have to wait for meal time. BUT she still has that awful infection and it has gotten worse (pseudomonas, she said). The drs there are shocked her PS still was saying she was just fine. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!! She has already met with the infectious disease dr. Will let you know when we hear more from her. {{{{{Dotty}}}}} Gentle hugs for you, dear Dorothy.

The hospital is where u should be, but u keep on going and it still isn't fixed. U should be written about, but of course the Drs wouldn't want this to get out, I'm sure. I pray u heal this time Dork.
