It's a part of our fence Jazzy. No B&B here. Just hubby and I. there are 2 actual buildings. The last 2. Lori's Shady Lady and the Blacksmith Shop. The rest are just fronts.

    Morning DahhhLinks

Well somehow Windows downloaded 10 to my computer.  I spent most of the day yest trying to figure things out.  Found that it finds my printer for some things, but not for others.  And the ‘control +’ - doesn’t work.  I’m still struggling…ugh!

Cami - u r a star so why wouldn’t u have stars on your body.  I miss days all the time lately.  Glad u still fooling the men around you.  Hope u get the other car so Leslie can find a job.  I’m a clean freak too…DH finally helping out around the house.  He and mese pooches carry in so much chit.  Had the cleaning crew here yest and pooches groomed, house looked so nice, then DH gets home and his tennis shoes made footprints on my floor…chit.

Jazz - I got to see Lori’s Shady Lady when I visited her one year.  It is, of course, more impressive up close.

Lowee - I’ll join ya in a few of those Wild West drinks and we’ll toast to our moms, pita’s they may be, but still our moms.  Loved the pics u posted, can see the freckles on your face.

Got to tend to laundry and get mese body showered.  Am getting old silver fillings replaced at the dentists in a little while.  I hate the shots, he better be gentle.

To all that I missed, forgibs me….hope all have a good week.

Well, sistas, I'm finally home...for now. Bob & I are leaving for Texas tomorrow till Sun. night--he has a CME course at this resort & spa in the hill country outside San Antonio, and I will explore a winery or two and do some spa and gym stuff while he's in class.

Made it safely to Geneva (only 2 hrs late, with champagne and a nice lunch salad on my flight) and right onto the train to Lausanne. The rest of the group, who'd opted for evening flights, were much later and didn't get in until way past midnight. The hotel was gorgeous and so were the Alps & Lake Geneva (pix over on the CrazyTown thread). But in the vein of “How About Drinking?" for the first two nights I merely drank dinner: in-room Nespresso & Atkins bars. You would have too, if a simple burger & fries or piece of salmon & salad ran roughly a C-note. (The Swiss franc & dollar are at par, but as a BCO member living in Geneva warned me, everything is at least 40% more expensive there--especially in a town like Lausanne that derives more of its income from high-tech medical & scientific devices than from tourism, and where most visitors are either on expense accounts or filthy-rich tech billionaires). My friends did spring for champagne the second night, though. Breakfast was included in the room price (one night of which exceeded my entire out-of-pocket for breast cancer treatment); and the corporation hosting the seminar fed us lavish coffee breaks both days and both lunch & dinner the last day. Great seminar, too. Was disappointed in the Swiss wines served, though--both the Pinot Noir & Chardonnay were very heavy & oaky, not delightfully crisp & fruity like the Dole and Fendant I'd had in a neighboring canton 20 years ago.

Next day took the TGV from Lausanne to Paris (wine with lunch, no champagne) and arrived at the Gare de Lyon smack-dab in the middle of a citywide general strike, with organized demonstrations (called “manifestations" by the locals who are used to these things), while orderly, blocking all traffic and stopping mass transit for a couple of hours. Finally, after a parade of police vans went by, I got a cab. Ate at the hotel (Intercontinental Paris LeGrand--same price as its sister hotel in Chicago!)--oysters & pink champagne (Veuve Clicquot), daurade and a Marsannay white. Next day I shopped, had a great lunch at Bistro Volnay (and a glass of its namesake red Burgundy) and played tour guide for a friend who'd never been there in his 50 yrs. on earth. Took him to Brasserie Lipp for choucroute and cremant d'Alsace; for dessert, we went to Little Breizh for Breton dessert crepes and soft sparkling cider. Our last day we did the hop-on-and-off bus tour, and hopped off at the Eiffel Tower, never having been approached to buy the ticket. Too blustery & cold to wait in an interminable line to go up, so we strolled around, had quiche, salad & champagne for lunch, and walked about 2/3 of the way back to our hotel on the R. Bank. For dinner we went to a little organic bistro, Jeanne B., in Montmartre--had champagne with lobster-coconut soup & a red St. Joseph with leg of lamb. Dessert was Tarte Tatin--no booze. Flew home the next day, enjoying more bubbly on the plane.

Complicating matters is that my 8-yr-old kitty Happy is ill. He went in last Wed. for routine dentistry, had one tooth extracted, but had a paradoxical extremely agitated reaction to the anesthesia when he came to. My son reports he took off like a shot as soon as the carrier door was opened, raced upstairs to hide under the bed, and then when he came back down a couple of hours later was hopping like a rabbit. Over the next few days, he began limping and despite robustly eating & drinking barely peed and pooped. The vet took an x-ray and saw no fracture, but insisted it was a soft-tissue injury and that we see a specialist, which we did today. He was pooping, albeit in a labored manner, by this morning and demonstrably urinated in the carrier en route to the specialty clinic (no doubt from stress--he hates leaving the house, period). The orthopedic surgeon said he doesn't think it's an injury at all, so he did a workup for heart and neuro problems as well as bloodwork and reviewing the x-rays (which the vet had failed to forward or give us copies). He thinks it could be anything from a saddle thrombus (blood clot in the hind leg) to a spinal stroke (which our much older cat suffered two years ago and from which he eventually died 6 months later, along with kidney failure, at age 19), to even abdominal cancer. We're waiting for the results, which could be in by tonight. Meanwhile, I still have to grocery-shop for our son (he doesn’t drive) and so something’ll be in the fridge on our return, pick up my letrozole, pack and order the rental car for the trip. Not to mention get in a short nap, as I've been pretty jet-lagged. At least San Antonio is in the Central time zone....I think.

No booze till we get there tomorrow. But I did make myself a chocolate egg cream last night---my comfort DOTD.

Also forgot to mention that because it snowed yesterday, I needed to wear my UGGs to go out. When I reached under the clothes rack to get them, it (the rack) collapsed on top of me and I had to climb my way out of the two levels of clothes that were still hanging from it. My back and my hip hurt. Also, when it fell it knocked over the little stand holding my hand weights--and the 2-pounder fell on my foot. I’m not going to ask what’s next.

ChiSandy- that trip sounded fabulous. I hope you enjoy San Antonio. A friend of mine was just down there on business and was sending me pics. I have not been there since I was grad school in TX in the 1980s. Great area and should be lovely weather there. Enjoy sister.

Sorry about your kitty and the fall you had. I hope all is better there soon.

I had a not good day at work and between not feeling well for week and some BS at the client site this week, I left early today and shifted gears. I went to go pick up a new computer roller bag I ordered at Staple,s and in the process of my time there, found a new all in one printer for my home office upgrade I am working on this month. So I felt very accomplished in the hour I was doing those errands. Tomorrow I will go back in a better mindset to take care of a number of things to be done. It is good when you know when to vote yourself off the island for a bit and come back with a better frame of mind.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Going in super early to work yesterday paid off, I got everything doneand was home at a reasonable hour, yeah!Still had a little work to do at home, but not much.At least with the new computer system playing ketchup doesn't take very long.Hopefully today will be the same, but without the super early start. We'll see.

Goldie--crazy weather, indeed.Almost no snow all winter, compared to what we usually get, and now snow predicted every other day in April!Just nuts.Maybe instead of changing our clocks we should be changing the calendar and falling back a month to let Mother Nature ketchup with us!Sorry to hear about your Mom being back in the hospital. She's probably right about not being able to get blood from a turnip.I take it she wouldn't consider moving to an assisted living setting?I am definitely jealous of you waiting for the hummingbirds to arrive.I'm happy seeing robins!

Jazzy--I actually considered making an Adult Protective report about that man in the assisted living facility, but it is clear in the contract what they do and don't do, so what's the point? And I didn't get reprimanded, the staffer made a complaint, my boss told me about it and that was it.It's an ongoing problem at some places.

Goldie--love it when you are a page hog!Your garden pics bring joy to my heart, and hope to my soul!Great Wild West Cocktail, too!

Cammy--what do you mean by star formations on your upper leg?Do you have little lights shining through your skin?I just can't picture what you are describing yet.Sounds like fun, though.Your faith in my decision making means a lot to me.

Mema--I wish they would stop "upgrading" Windows!I know it's a planned obsolesces thing, and a money thing, but it's ANNOYING!I just get one figured out and configured to work efficiently and they change it!I have Windows 10 and can still do the 'control +' thing, seems like you should be able to.

Chi--I could handle being 2 hours late with champagne and a lunch salad!Talk about an expensive place!Glad the company came through on the coffee breaks and last day meals.Arriving in the middle of a general strike, that must have been interesting, to say the least.Sounds like it's a common occurrence, though.Your poor kitty!I'm praying it's just an anesthesia reaction and pulled muscle or similar.Hope you got your nap in.What is a chocolate egg cream?Sounds yummy.OUCH--climbing out from under all that must have been scary!Hope you are feeling better today.

Jazzy--love the way you voted yourself off the island for a while!I bet you do feel so much better.

Cami, you are too funny, but sorry about the brain fog. I get that a lot. Just can think of a word sometimes. And I agree with Sue, you are a STAR! Our shining star. Praying that Les can get a car and a new job, loving what she does. Yes, I do look like my mom. But I sure don't want to look like her WalMart picture!

Sue, YES I had lots of freckles. Was always called freckle face strawberry. They've all faded now. I would be pissed with footprints on my clean floor too. We take our shoes off tho, when we come in the house. Tammy was here yesterday and brought her Rainbow Vacuum. Did my whole house. Pretty amazing what that thing picks up. But boy are they expensive! How in the world did you "accidently" download Windows 10? You'll have to keep us updated as to how you like it. I hate change! But we have been considering it. Just not sure if all our programs will work with it.I too have a mouth full of silver. Love the white fillings much better.

Oh my Sandy. Sorry about your closet, had something similar happen to us as well, but it wasn't me! I hope Happy will be just fine. Sounds like a wonderful trip.

Jazzy, hopefully things will be better for you, the rest of the week. I like our computer roller bag!

NM, mom WAS set to move to assisted living. Could move in in a week. She has now changed her mind, yet again, not going. As my son would not have anywhere to go and she couldn't take her dog. And the hummers are here! You have Windows 10? How do you like it? I hate 8, but that computer is mostly used to ship our UPS packages and that's about it.

Just another work day today. Nothing special going on, but business is definitely picking up!

Hi girls, no hopes of me catching up so I'm going to jump right in and talk about myself a bit. Then I'll go back and read, I'm 4 pages behind!! Anywho, I am on vacay in Sedona, it's so beautiful here, and supposed to be almost 100 degrees today. Hard to believe right now that back home it is winter again. Emma, Junior and Moose are doing fine at Molly's but I'm sure she'll be ready for them to leave. I think I told you all about the little blind dog we were thinking of getting, well we had our home visit and decided not to get her. She did fine at our house, even found the water bowl twice but it just didn't feel right. She is very attached to her foster mom and mom is very over protective of her and I am hoping she will just decide to keep her. I had Nora for Easter and she gave me her cold which I have now named The Nora Virus. Ugh, 1st 2 days of vacation I was not feeling too hot, Dh booked me an aroma therapy massage and it was the best I have ever had. He knew his stuff, even worked at my tendonitis, wish I could take him back to Ohio. My lymph nodes in my neck got all enlarged and my 1st thought was to freak out, then I thought about my cold and calmed down about it and now they are back to normal. Phew! Anyway by yesterday I had turned the corner and am feeling much better. We went on the 2 hour Pink Jeep Tour yesterday, driving all over the red rocks, high up and bumpy, it was very informative and fun. DH has golfed every ayem and we went together to a little par 3 course yesterday. We even tried to move our plane tickets back a day but alas they are sold out. My foot is not hurting at all and my boot is in the closet, think I just needed to get away from work for awhile. I gave notice at my Saturday job, I am staying till the end of April, not enough money and such high maintenance women. I will fell bad about leaving a few of them tho. So that's my life in a nutshell, I'm gonna post some pics and then I'll go back and play ketchup. Love you all!

Mary, I knew you were in Sedona. Was thinking of you for the last couple days. Try to make it to Jerome. 100 degrees would be great at slick rock. They also have Indian Ruins near by. Montezuma's Castle. That is in Camp Verde, about 30 miles, same for. Montezuma's Well. I wish you had more time too. We have a beautiful state!

And of course Emma and Nora....aNORAble! Poor Sierra, I'm sure you made the right decision. Sorry you got sick, but you are feeling better now. when do you return?

Good morning, Loungettes.Woke up to half an inch of new snow. Yuck. Ick.Sick of this crud!I would actually rather have the mud! Ah, well, this too shall pass. Eventually.

Goldie--It's too bad more assisted living places won't allow pets, lot of elders who could use the help won't move if they have to leave their pet behind, and I can understand that one.I have Windows 10, don't really care for it.Down at the bottom left of the screen where you click to go to My Computer and such is now pictures rather than a list of words, makes it hard for me to find stuff.I'm slowly personalizing so it's more like the old way but it's annoying.Win 10 also tends to show lists of recently used files rather than going directly to list of files in Documents and such, that adds steps when saving a file to a particular folder. I wasn't crazy about Windows 8 either, but I could get it for a really good price through work and what I was running wasn't going to be supported anymore. The Windows 10 "upgrade" was free, so I went with it.I really think it's all change for the sake of change and making money.

Genny--wow, what a husband to book an aromatherapy massage for you! He's a keeper!Sorry the new fur baby didn't work out, but that may be better for the pup.Caught a Nora Virus?Too funny. Glad you've turned the corner, though.I've read about dogs in airport waiting areas, didn't realize they were therapy dogs!Emma looks fantastic! What a sweet pic of Nora and Emma. Not sure who is using who for a pillow. That massage chair looks relaxing, and Nora seems to have it well in hand.Wow, it's beautiful in Sedona. The scenery is pretty, too!

Good morning friends. I am up early and have to facilitate a 7 a.m. meeting. I have two critical meetings

I had a very bad day yesterday at my client site. Not going to get into what is happening, but told myself I am stepping back and going to spend less time on site and take better care of myself on all fronts. I have meetings until noon and then am leaving.

As part of taking better care of myself, I went to the gym last night to work out for the first time in weeks. That felt very good after not doing much for the past two weeks. Since I am leaving work early today, I am planning to take a nice walk later today too.

Thanks for listening friends. I am trying to come back into balance.

NM, they do allow dogs at the assisted living place, but only small ones, 25 lbs. Zues is more like 100 pounds! Besides, she wouldn't be able to take him out to do his business! She is back home, not sounding good at all. I just don't know how much of it is real. It just really sounds like a poor me, and depression. She's suppose to make an appointment with a cardiologist, but really doesn't want to go. So why does she keep calling 911 to take her to the hospital. Her doctor took her valium away, Norco (which she took for tremors) and the Zeralto. He's also the one that practically over dosed her on insulin. So I told her, ok well just stay him, he is really good. Why won't you get a new doctor? She says I don't want to start all over again! Sorry about all the snow, the mud will come, just keep telling yourself that. Our winter has been just the opposite!

Zues and my son a few years ago.

Jazzy, sorry you are having such a time at your client site. Is this the one you were so excited about getting? Good for you taking care of you!

Well, not much to comment on, since hardly anyone here!

    Happy thirsty Thursday!

Good morning ladies, lying in bed drinking my coffee and wishing vacation could last another week, altho I don't think I could go without my pooches that long.

Lori, I wish I would have seen your post about slick rock yesterday morning, we would've gone for sure. I googled it and we will have to do it next time we come, and we will. We are loving the area, just not enough time to see and do all that we'd like. Probably won't make it to Jerome this trip either unless we go tomorrow, only going to be 70 and it may rain. DH is golfing now and then we are going together later. We are checking out tomorrow night and getting a hotel room near Phoenix airport. Our flight Saturday morning is at 9:30 and since we are almost 2 hours away and have to return the rental card we thought it best to go tomorrow night. I tried to switch our plane tickets to Sunday morning but they are booked. I'm so sorry about everything going on with your mom, she does sound bullheaded. Does she have a social worker or anyone involved in her care. I wonder if she calls 911 excessively if someone else steps in? I don't know. Would your son want to keep Zues if he could find an apartment that allowed dogs? Loved all your pics, you look a lot like your mom in the first one, she was very pretty. I'm praying you will tolerate the new FU dose and your TM's will come down. When do you get them checked next? Have you started the new dose yet? Damn FURB!!!

NM, winter was so mild and now it just doesn't want to let go. Hopefully spring will show up soon. Glad the new computer is making your life easier at work, the windows 10 is your home computer? It really is beautiful here, we are already talking about the next time we come. I know what you mean about taking the dogs to assisted living, it would be hard to arrange tho, especially the way some go in and out of hospitals and nursing homes, would only work for those with family nearby that could take the pets in their absence. Where I work they can have cats and the aides can feed them and clean the boxes but not so easy with the dogs. They'd have to drag me kicking and screaming to get me away from mine too. The little blind dog would have taken more time than we have, it'd be nice if they could find a retired person that is home a lot.

Jazz, sorry to hear you are having problems at work, hope you are able to resolve them soon. Taking care of ourselves has to come 1st. I am hoping to get into a regular workout pattern when I get home, my foot is doing much better and it's time for me to get moving. My DH has really put on weight as well so hopefully we can push each other. Hope you get that nice walk in today.

Chi, sounds like you need a vacation to recover from your vacation! hope all the bumps and bruises get all healed up and things stop falling on you. The trip sounds fabulous albeit exhausting! Oysters and champagne, yum! Praying for your kitty and hoping it's just some weird delayed anesthesia thing.

Fearless, welcome to the lounge altho sorry you have to be here. I came on here the first time beating myself up thinking my love of wine caused my cancer. NM got up on her soapbox and set me straight right quick! Then I remembered that my grandma and aunts and cousins that all had BC were teetotalers. No one knows why some get cancer and some don't and as we hear about everything, moderation is the key, which I admit I do struggle with. I don't drink excessively but I do like to have 2 glasses of wine each night, I've fought with myself back and forth with this and have decided just to live my life. Anyway, this is a great and supportive group of women, glad you found us!

Dara, hope your Easter was wonderful and you had fun with your g-son. Having a clean house is the best, if only they would stay that way. Loved the Chippendale pic, looks like you all were having a great time! Hopefully it won't be long before you're getting you r pool up and ready to go.

Sue, I think I read that you were going to get to see your g-kids? Hope so, I'm so far behind I'm going on memory here. Glad you got thru the heiney scope ok, sorry it made you sick tho. Hope you're feeling ok now.

Cami, still battling with the D, ugh. Hope you got the home blood work thing figured out. How's Marty, did she get a different job since finishing school?

I know I'm missing some of you but I'm still in bed and it's time for me to get moving, love you all and hope to soon get myself back to daily posting.

    Morning DahhhLinks

Boy does this Windows 10 frustrate me.  Ugh, but I am continuing to work thru it.  Have had booTful days, in the 80s.  Supposed to rain and wind in next few days.  April showers mean more flowers.  Is that right?

Good afternoon friends- I am doing better today. One of my issues at work is around the lack of engagement I sometimes have on my project. I agreed to run a meeting for someone who is out on vacation, but we are having some important decision making meetings that needed to continue. The meeting got scheduled for 7 a.m., kid you not, and then the people we did that for were a no show. One person had a family emergency, and did contact my client, but I found out later and the other one just did not show up. Although that was frustrating, I also think it is important for my client to see what I am experiencing.

I had another meeting before noon and that went better and all the key people showed up. I told my client no more covering for other people or 7 a.m. meetings please. She is very upset with the person who scheduled all that in her absence. The joy of consulting work!

Given I was on site super early to be ready for the meeting, I saw the prettiest sunrise over the mountains this morning. This was my gift this morning for dragging myself out of bed early to go over there. It just took my breath away as I drove towards the mountains.

There is joy in every day, even the hardest days, if you just pay attention (or in this case, look to the sky....)

    hello everybody

lori don't know what to say about your mum, but keep you in my prayers that the right decision will be made soon, my mum will hopefully be discharged in the next few days

chi-glad you had a good trip even with all the changes but sorry to hear about your kitty and your closet accident

    cammi your always a star

nancy-nora does love to share ,the virus going around here is sticking around for some people for a month! hopefully not that long for you. had a snotty nose and itchy eyes and cough started yesterday so just did the otc and steam but started coughing up yuck this morning so went to employee health ,she said it was allergies ,with the post nasel drip causing the cough etc gave me some antibiotics ,said only take in 7-10 days if you don;t improve, save you coming back keep doing what your doing in the mean time, well i had a coughing spasm just before i left the office , so she said oh you might be working on getting bronchitis ,here's an inhaler and some tessalon pearles!

nm at what point does the staff at this facility say this person needs to be evaluated for decision making capability! don't they have to at least contact their next of kin or guardien and tell them this is going on ?

Good morning, Loungettes!Woke up to lots of debris in the yard, and reports of roads closed due to downed power lines and associated power outages.Fortunately, I still have power and no damage, but that wind was really howling last night.Made for some interesting dreams!

Jazzy--sorry you had a bad day, that can really be draining.Taking care of yourself is important.Getting back in balance is hard work!

Goldie--Zues is one big boy!If your Mom could take him out for walkies HE would walk HER!Not to mention the size of the poo to pick up.I hear what she says about not wanting to start over with a new doc, but maybe that's just what she needs.I used to work with a doc that would routinely admit his geriatric patients to the hospital, stop all their meds, monitor for a few days and then only add back the meds that were really needed. It was amazing how many people got better when the drugs were stopped and left the hospital with only one or two meds instead of the 10 or more they came in with! And I know the mud is coming, it was better yesterday with warmer temps despite the wild winds.

Genny--ah, if there were only a way to have vacay and fur babies at the same time! The Windows 10is the home computer. The mild winter has spoiled us for sure, what we are getting now really isn't that different from normal for this year.I can see where cats would be easier to manage than dogs in assisted living.I pray the little blind doggy finds a good home soon.

Mema--April Shower bring May Flowers. What do April monsoons bring?I'll find out next month!Going through the computer tutorial is tedious but can be helpful.I don't like to do it, either.

Jazzy-gorgeous sunrise!I do like sunrises, I just wish they happened a bit later in the day.It is so frustrating when a meeting is set at a time convenient for specific people and those people don't show. That is just rude.Glad the client got to see that in person!

Julie--Those people are in the specific assisted living facility BECAUSE of their dementia and inability to take care of themselves properly. Many do not have local family to check on them. And you know how the management types can spin that phone call: "You Dad is at risk for getting skin breakdown because he won't let us help him with changing his clothes and cleaning up when he's been incontinent."They don't say "Your Dad hasn't been changed for 3 days because he says "no" when we ask him to let us help him change, even though he was moved here because he can't take care of himself, and he says "no" when asked if he is hungry even while reaching for the food being offered, but keep paying that monthly rent and care check!"

    Princess Leia of Maine's DOTD:

    Money Shot

    1/4 oz Banana Liqueur

    1 1/6 oz Irish Cream

    1/12 oz Limoncello

    Directions

Chill irish creme and Banana Liqueur into shot glass then add limoncello. Ready to shoot.

Best served in a Shot Glass.

Mary, glad you enjoyed Sedona, but sorry you couldn't sneak an extra day in. Safe travels home, I'm sure y our fur babies will be glad to see you. Now when we go to Moab UT, picture Sedona x's 100! I am tolerating the new dose of FU pills, albeit the SE's. TM's will be in a week or two, not sure, as I have to look at my calendar. I like to do them at the end of my cycle. Glad your foot is feeling better.

LDB, keep us updated on Windows 10. I dread it. Mom is a mess, I don't know if there is help for her. They want to do a heart cath on her, she called me and said they were gonna cauterize her heart….lol. Then she said, no maybe it was cath. So I had to explain that to her. Her nurse told her to put Vaseline inher nose while using the CPAP, her doctor (the idiot) told her to never do that! Hopiing you get to see Maddy this weekend. We are suppose to get some rain too.

Jazzy, I was watching the sunset too. Hoping you have better meetings in the future. Did you get home early? I'll share my sunset at the end of the post.

Thanks Julie. I hadn't realized your mum was still in the hospital. It's so hard being so far away, and I know you feel that too. Antibiotics for allergies?

NM, you sure are getting some cray cray weather! Good Grief! Glad you have power. You know funny thing about Zues, he won't pull. My son has tried, with a skate board I think. He just stands there. But he doesn't listen to my mom for crap. I have no idea what my mom is going to do. The tremors she gets are horrible, but the meds cause her heart to slow down. Her heart rate is only like 40. Interesting DOTD.

Dang, my eyes are sooooo burning and watering. Usually from the sun, but even looking at the computer, they are doing that. So I made my screen not so bright. Helps a little.

Good morning friends- I slept like log last night and that felt good. I know the only way to push the residual cold out of my system is to reduce some of the stress I am having with my work, and sleep more! I had some belated b-day plans with some friends tonight, but opted to reschedule as one of them has been sick with something this week and don't want to pick up anything else. I am still on the every other day feel good/not so good thing. But in general, getting better.

NM- sounds like you got a wicked storm last night. I have a friend in NJ who had a tree down last weekend with high winds. It damaged a fence, but fortunately nothing worse. We are going to get some much needed rain today, getting a break tomorrow, and rain back Sunday into early next week. So needed and really will help my trees that are trying to leaf out right now.

Juliet- that month long virus where you work is exactly what is going on here. Be watching for any change as this is how I got caught off guard by this bug. I have had allergies since Feb when the blooms start here and really thought that was what was going on the week the cold came on. I won't say it was not both, but by the time I realized I had more than allergies, I was hit hard. Usually I try to slow down and take it easy at the beginning of something and did not because the virus tricked me. I do believe this is a tough time of the year for many with both allergies and colds with change of weather. March and April have never been easy months for me. I hope you feel better soon too.

Mema- I have a computer shop I work with here for things and they have often told me what operating system to stay away from. I am currently still on Win 7, but am going to be shopping for a new laptop this month and going to talk to them about what I need to do there. I may have them custom build a Lenovo for me or buy one customized from the vendor. I know if I do, it will come with 10, then I have to sync this computer to have them on similar OS. I know there are issues with Win 10, but hopefully Microsoft is getting those worked out. They have had far more quirky OS than good ones in the past decade.

Cami- how are you doing at the end of the week and with the D? I hope you are feeling okay and that Joey is keeping you well entertained. I am sure he is practicing away for his walk in the parade next month!

ChiSandy- I think you are in San Antonio soaking up some Texas sun, margaritas and spa time. Look forward to hearing about your recent adventures when you are back.

HSant- I hope things are okay with your Dad.

Goldie- are you back in AZ? Are you getting some rain too? We have rain forecasted for today and into early next week. We have been so dry here, driest March on record. The moisture will help the trees that are coming out now and more blooms in the yard too.

Fearless- how are you doing at the end of this week?

For anyone else I missed, I hope you are wrapping up the week on a positive note and wishing you all a good weekend.

Good morning girls, waking up to a little drizzle here, Dh heading out to try and get a last round of golf in, the real rain is supposed to start after 10. When we were on the Pink Jeep tour, the guide said this is the worse drought in 500 years! So I guess every little bit helps, glad we got our vacay in before it started, supposed to rain here on Sunday too. But back in Ohio it is snowing...sigh.. Out hsant's way I think they may be getting up to a foot but only a few inches where I live. We are going to check out later today and head back to Phoenix and spend the night in a hotel. Home to pooches and Moose tomorrow. Don't go back to work till Tuesday and I had my house cleaned while I was gone so I get time to get my brain out of vacation. We will come back here for sure, it's been very nice and oh so relaxing.

Lori, so glad you are tolerating the increase in FU pills better this time, I sure pray they do the trick. Your mom's story is so sad, sure hope it all works out somehow. Is your DS working? So glad he is there to take care of Zues, can't imagine your mom handling a dog that size on her own. I do love your state, can't wait to come back and see more of it. I really lost 2 days to this damn bug so I didn't get to see as much as I would've liked. I did get to golf 18 holes yesterday tho, the course was beautiful! Are your burning eyes a se from the pills?

Jazz, sorry about the rude people not showing up for the early meeting. My DH is a manufacturer's rep and he'll drive 3 or 4 hours to for an appt with a purchasing agent only to find out they are home sick or have taken a vacation day. People can be so inconsiderate. Hope you are soon having more feel good days than bad. The sunrise pic was beautiful!

NM, so glad the power stayed on. My DH says he is fighting installing windows 10, he's dreading the hassle. I have a Mac so no worries for me thank goodness because I am not all that computer literate. It is hard to leave the furbabies, they say they don't know an hour from a week but I'm not sure that's true.

Julie hope the anti-b's keep the crud away. Glad to hear your mum will be coming home.

Sue, yay for seeing Maddy this weekend! Sorry to hear about Andrew and the divorce, does your son get his visitation? Computer tutorial, ugh! Hope you're feeling ok these days.

Cami, hope you're having a good day.

Genny- I forgot to tell you that Sedona is one of my favorite places anywhere! I was out that way last in 2011 and did a very cool Jeep tour myself. It looks like you had an awesome time. Love the pics!

Hi everyone! Another long week at work is over! Yay! I wish I had more time to get on here and "visit" with all of you. I do read the posts and now, since I haven't been on here for awhile, it's hard to catch up and comment on all that I've missed. I love it that there is so much interaction on this board and that everyone keeps a positive attitude about life. That can do nothing but help us in this battle against cancer. As I said, my week has been busy. Work, going with hubby to the doctor (total knee replacement may be in his future), going to funeral home one night (friend lost her dad), hanging out with some friends one evening, and general domestic work at home. Whew! I'm tired just reading that. Plus, I had to get my training in two evenings for the 10K run that I've got planned for July. Tomorrow, DH and I are going to pick up our doggy, Bella, who has been in "obedience" training for the past 6 weeks with a friend who trains dogs in SC. We've been traveling there every couple of weeks to work with her and are excited to bring her home again. The good thing about our recent travel there is that I've been able to stay with my daughter and visit with my sons and their families who live about 1.5 hours away from my daughter. However, I'm kind of tired of the going and ready to stay home a few weekends and get back to "normal." Ready for a relaxing evening at home watching some Atlanta Braves baseball!

'm I,m sorry but if there already in a memory unit then it's neglect,we have people who won,t wash or change clothing and we have to document up the wazoo that they understand what can happen and there alert and orientated

If someone is not is not fully competent then we cannot leave them dirty even if they Don,t want to be changed.your right i they are spinning it to the families

Good Morning, Loungettes!Sadie and I are having a lovely lazy Saturday ayem.I'm playing on the computer, Sadie is alternately getting ear scratches and napping.Do need to so some laundry before the big rains come through again.I'll get to that in a bit.Another pot of coffee is probably going to happen first.

Goldie--LOL at your Mom confusing catheter and cauterize!Yup, getting very crazy weather here, butit is Maine after all.If you don't like the weather wait a minute, it'll change.Funny how Zeus won't pull.A heart rate of 40 generally isn't a good thing. No wonder she feels crummy.Great pics!

Jazzy--glad to hear you are feeling better overall.Takes time, sometimes. My trees should start wanting to leaf out soon.Heard the peepers last night, so there is hope for spring!

Genny--The upgrade to Win 10 was very smooth for me.I followed the link, downloaded, rebooted and there it was.The personalization is what takes me a lot of time, finding my fav files, programs, etc and getting them back where I can find them easily again. But I'm a control freak and don't like anything that takes anything out of my control, even if it is just changing from file names to picture/icons.I have heard that it didn't go well for some people.Just make sure everything is backed up so you don't lose anything important.Pretty place, lovely couple, sweet doggies!

Jazzy--LOL!Are those the real technical descriptions?

Fearless--wow, you have been busy! That list of activity makes me tired. Is Bella doing well at obedience training?Travel is fun but coming home is good, too.

Julie--Say Hi to Mickey for me!I agree, that kind of "care" is neglect at best, but apparently there is some way around it for the facilities.Just crazy, though.
