Good afternoon ladies- going to try to do a better note to you since I am home more today and before I am out and about and then gone to Vegas. I went to the nail salon today and got a mani/pedi and brow wax to get myself prettied up for my little weekend away. I am mostly ready to go, finishing up some packing today and really just dealing with a lot of other to dos before I go. My nails almost match the color of my new bike. Do you think I am obsessed with turquoise?

I realize life seems to be filled with unexpected surprises anymore. I got caught in that bad hail storm in November with my convertible but just ended up parking that until I could deal with it this past month. Then the other car this week with the break in, that happened unexpectedly but recovered quickly. Maybe life has really taught me what matters the most? Stuff can be fixed, having good health is what matters. I notice I don't sweat this stuff anymore, which kind of surprises me. Maybe cancer taught me another important lesson.

Okay, let's check in with some of you:

NM- it sounds like your cold has morphed into something much worse. I had bronchitis with my crud, and the infection too. Just nasty business and know you have asthma, which always makes this worse. I hope you got some help with this and are feeling better? Is Sadie giving you good snuggles at night to help you through all this?

ChiSandy- I read your earlier message about your break ins and remember you talking about when the broke in to your garage. I heard some horror stories this week about the car thefts and people coming out to find their garaged cars gone in the morning (I think they use a universal garage door opener). I keep my door between the garage and house dead bolted now. I hope your cold is pushing through again?

Cami- If I read it right, you lost your kitty cat? I know you loved here and have talked about her hear often. Hugs sister, our pets are special. Does Joey do Valentines for the girls at school? Do they have a dance?

Goldie- thinking of you and sorry to hear more things showed up on the scans. I understand your need to go down the rabbbit hole, been there so many times myself in this life. I hope you are able to get through any services coming up for your dad with the love and support of family and friends. Just know we are here when you want to share. We are your people.

Dara dear- you are still having headaches, so not the teeth after all? After having one for two days most likely from the dental work, I cannot imagine having that all the time. Your GS is adorable and glad you have time together.

Hsant- so sorry you have been in the ups and downs with your dad. I remember so many times with my mom when we thought that was it and then she rallied. Well you never know and better to prepare yourself, although that roller coaster is not a good one either. Do take care of yourself, this is hard stuff. You are an extraordinary care giver to your father.

Okay, posting this first one and then will go back a few more pages as I am missing a few folks!

Hsant, so sorry for what you’re going through with your dad. Zin in a Solo cup? Sometimes when you gotta drink, you gotta drink (and it always tastes better if you need a drink).

Cami, my condolences about KatieKat. Dara, glad Bella has some more quality time in her near future. Jazzy, there’s an Essie color called “For Audrey,” which is Tiffany’s trademark turquoise.

Lori, I never learned to ride a two-wheeler. Growing up in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, we never really knew how poor we actually were. (It’s been a ghetto since the mid-‘60s and lower-income majority-white before that—it was settled mostly by Jews when the Lower East Side got too crowded & unsanitary back at the turn of the 19th/20th century). When we outgrew our hand-me-down trikes, the reason our parents gave us for not owning bikes is that we were likely to end up in the ER with fractures or worse (their argument also against ball-bearing roller skates, though older cousins secretly gave them to us anyway when they outgrew them). Only later did we realize that since we couldn’t haul bikes up three flights of stairs and store them in a small apt., and there was no locked storage area (nor a locked vestibule-to-lobby door) in our apt. bldg., they were likely to be stolen and we couldn’t afford to replace them.

Hi girls, I got my shower and slept for a few hours. This headache is just too much. I get my new appliance at 2pee em and still have hope for some relief. I was thinking that it was not working but I went without it last night and now the wammy headache again this morning. According to the inventor, I've done significant damage to my trigeminal system and it will take time to heal.
Lynne, so nice to see you here. Your puppy is so adorable. She reminds me of a friends boxer terrier. Boy do you ever keep busy, glad you found some time to really catch up.Thanks for your kind words, wacko is doing the best she can LOL
Camille, was it you that asked about meds for dogs? Bella was prescribed buprenex by the first vet which knocked her out. It is a strong opioid. The new vet gave her tramadol. You really cracked me up with your Tim, Ken/Barbie story. How do you come up with the stuff LOL. Love you.
Lori, glad there's alcohol down there in the rabbit hole. I too will join you and hope to entertain you while you're down there. You are forever in my prayers. I love you so much lady. Sad that there was no service for your dad, but maybe better for you that you don't have to make the trip or feel guilty for not making the trip. More hugs coming at you sister, it's going to be all right. (())Lori))))

Jazzy, I can't get over how you roll. Sorry your car was broken into but glad you were able to get it fixed the same day without involving insurance. I am excited for you and will look forward to photographs of your Vegas trip. Thanks for all your kind words and wishes for recovery, it is greatly appreciated, you are a dear.

NM, glad you are on the mend and happy it is not pneumonia. I hope you learned a lesson girly. The countdown is on for spring and I believe it's about 39 days, can't wait and I'm sure you can't either... and I bet Sadie is looking forward to mud season LOL

Sandy, i am sad that you never learned to ride a bike. But it is not too late. Just get those big old training wheels out and have your hubby help you! I hope that you are on the mend and that your home is also coming together. Sounds like a long process and I am sorry the leak happened.

Hsant, I really feel for you with what you are going through with your father. Kim had once mentioned that she thought that my father had dementia with Lewie bodies which caused my dad to hallucinations . It is really difficult to deal with. I hope you are able to get a break. Glad you have the liquid medicine to help you through this. What would we do without our alomahil??? Hugs to you.

Sue, Nice to see you and yay for Ned. Glad the girls explained that word about her brain which I could not begin to pronounce LOL. I miss you around here. Hugs and lots of love to you.

Genny, how is sweet Emma? So unfair that you got so few years with her, she's def an ace. More hugs!

I missed someone BUT that person who gets a prize!!

    ❤️ to all!!

Wacko, little Logan just could not be any cuter. I mean that is definitely cuteness overload. My gosh, I sure hope this new apparatice helps you with those darn headaches. It's been so long, it has to be debilitating. I was just down that hole to keep Unde company. When my dad's MIL passed, his wife had a memorial for her. Even went to MI with my dad. I know that was a trip, with his alz. So I thought she would plan a memorial for him. Nope. She is having surgery on her toe, will be down for 10 days, then going to Crossville TN with dads ashes, they have vaults there, then she is going to CA to visit her sister. Jazzy, you are my people is right. I put things here and only here.I see that stink eye Sandy! Gosh, I wonder how hard it would be to learn to ride a bike at our age, iffin we never have. Have you ever attempted it?NM, I hope you are feeling better.Jazzy, you are getting ready to take off.LDB, did you get your DS all set with Quick Books?Who is getting snowed on? Good Morning Ladies

Wow so much happening, see why I always say boring is good.

Lori my prayers are always for u too. I never ask u to many questions only cuz I know u'll tell us everything and I don't want u too feel like u have to. U know what I mean--but so many HUGS for u and I thinks it's better for u not to feel obligated to go to u'r dad's memorial. Now i the time u should be waiting to see u'r DD.

Jazzy the bike u have looks like the one I had as my first bike when I was a kid, same color too. I remember learning how to ride it and those days parents didn't run behind u, but u'r friends did. LOL It's very soon now for u to relax (which u need) and have some fun, with no sleep. And like I have said before when I first met u , I liked u and I'm glad u'r here.

Dara u'r headaches must be horrible, I'm so sorry u'r going thru this, I would be hysterical and u just go along. Hopefully using this thingy will really help u big time. (((HUGS))) so much to u. And I love that u'r cousin is with u. Logan is beyond cute, Oh I'd be cuddling and kissing him all the time, he's such a blessing for u'r family.

Hsant this is one hard road u've been on, plenty of hugs go u'r way. When do u see u'r DH? Just keep up u'r wine, as long as it helps. But I know NM is right about trying to get a day off, it seems u never do.

NM are u doing all right with u'r anti-B's? They should be going good in u now. And the week is almost over so that's good for u too.

Sandy how is u'r throat or I should say vocal cords? I can't learn how to double screen so by the time I read and post I do forget things.

Well I think my D has finally stopped for now, feeling so sad and doing this was so aggrevating to me. I miss my Katie so much, I'd been with her for many years and she was so much comfort at bad times and she was just fun.

OK I've had 2 phone calls since I started this post, now I have to work, I know I'm not the best emplyee, but I come cheap--which when I was growing up was a big adjective that was used with me. (oh not really, being Catholic was a burden in itself)

My sister and her partner are coming in mid afternoon. Let the partay begin. I might check out the tasty cocktails poolside tomorrow afternoon.......

Goldie- so there is no service for your dad?

Dara- the device sounds like it needed to be corrected and hope it helps. Will share Vegas pics when I am back

Sandy- if you want to learn how to ride a bike, this kind I bought would be a perfect kind to learn on?

Have a good weekend friends. Be safe those in the northeast and getting the big storm today!

My husband and best friends tried to teach me when I was in my early 40s, but I kept falling over before I could get up to a speed that’d keep me upright. Hence the training wheels. My bike’s a Giant Rincon with a “mixte” frame—the bar is lower than on a men’s bike.

Went to the ENT today, who ‘scoped my vocal cords. Good news is that there are no nodules, polyps, hemorrhages or any other lesions—and any snot is on the outside of the larynx. But they are still slightly swollen. Dr. says this should resolve in a couple more weeks. If not, he wants me to start voice therapy sessions (all the therapists are also professional singers) in addition to my lessons. He says it’d be a good idea to do it anyway, since it could help me preserve my voice as I age.

For Jazzy, I think you are the one that asked what a lampshade partay is. So, when I first joined BCO, lampshade parties were very popular in the lounge. AndI went as far as having a get together with one of the gals from this thread and having a live lampshade partay, gosh hat was fun!

My voice teacher is skeptical—some of his other students who were prescribed the same therapy found it redundant. But Medicare pays for it, and there are weeks when lessons don't occur due to scheduling conflicts, or problems with internet connections (mostly at my teacher's end of the signal chain). But if the therapy is redundant, my teacher's voice pedagogy system must be doing something right. Meanwhile, I still have that stupid “bottleneck" or “passsagiato" in the middle between head and chest voice—those notes (from middle A,Bb,B and high C—the notes ranging upward from the two central spaces in the treble clef) are weak, phlegmy/gurgly-sounding and very unstable as regards accuracy. From high C# to high/top F# I'm fine, and at the low end my chest voice is in good shape from middle Ab all the way down to low C. One of the major goals in all the years of my voice lessons was to eliminate an audible “break” between registers; and now not only do I have to go back to square one, I have to actually hit those notes clearly and accurately before I can resume eliminating the “inadvertent yodel."

Good evening, Loungettes! Just a quick poop in this evening. Left really early for work today, got done and home shortly after the snow storm started. Lots of fluffy white stuff blowing around, probably a foot or so, but really lousy visibility on the last few miles. Need to be in the office at 8 ayem for CPR class tomorrow, so will be leaving early for the extra time driving. Feeling better, cough been pretty quiet until just now, just did a nebulizer treatment and hoping that plus the limoncello shot will calm things down soon. Sadie is curled up bedside me in bed, already snoring and radiating heat, so I should be dropping off soon myself. Ketchup with you all on the weekend!

    Good Morning Ladies,

Am I the first person on here to say good morning??? And I'm late too. Oh well

Dara I so remember our lampshade parties, I see one of the last pics.--that's me of course, by my self posing as usual. How r u feeling my dear--u really haven't said much about u'r hand.

Jazzy u'll be gone soon, and I really hope the weekend doesn't just fly by for u. Stay up as much as u can to enjoy everything with u'r sister. If u gamble play the crap table, everyone seems to win with that, well on TV anyway. Good Luck and Good time-will miss u.

Sandy u really have a job cut out for u. When singers get bad colds that runs into big treble. (I knowthat's awful) but really no one else thinks about that. U know I remember years ago Edie Gorme was on the tonite show (Johnny Carson and she could bare talk, she had a bad cold and she was supposed to sing,, so she said I'll ty if u don't mind. And she belted out a song like nothing was wrong. And when she sat down she said usually her singing voice is fine even when she can't talk. I still remember that one for some reason. But I'm sure that's not for everyone. But I do hope u'r will be fine.

Oh NM Marty told me about u'r weather--WOW u'r getting a lot of snow just be careful driving and I hope u don't have a lot of driving today. Just be safe.

OH OH my sister had a biopsy for her thyroid and it was fine, but she did ask about a lump on her throat (on the outside) and the Dr. told her it's called chicken fat. Better than turkey fat. Like she said he could have said it's nothing instead of that. LOL

PK be back latah for the big partay.

Good morning girls, good morning Camille!

My hand is healing, get stitches out on Monday. I find that my right hand hurts more at times since I am using it more whIle babying my left hand. It was a relatively easy surgery.

I was thinking about you Cam (while in the bathroom going#2 today lol). My always follows me to the bathroom and I was thinking of you having to be in your bathroom without your beloved Katie Kat and that made me sad. And I then wondered....will your family get a kitten? And if they say no, will it help to put Joey up to convincing his parents to get one for HIM? I bet that a little homeless kitty in your area is looking for a great home and someone to follow into the bathroom. I'm sad for you, I know it has to be hard.

Sandy, I had to laugh at you, saying you had an "inadvertent yodel." I've always been fascinated by yodeling and have tried to learn. But I sound like an animal being t!ormented when I do.

My dentist appt yesterday was cancelled due to the snow, crud, I have to now wait til monkeydey!

All, have a great weekend, i will be around!

    Good Morning DahhhLinKs!

Ohh my girls, so much going on in ur lives that make you sad and therefore I'm sad. Still saying prayers for you all.

Lowee - u r so right about the pharm comp's…I am soooo sick of taking all these pills and still feel like crap. The bones in my whole body have been screaming at me for 8 days now. Especially my left leg and foot…I'm a mess Mary (jes an old saying). Plus I need to see about this brain white mater/spine issue. Not sure what specialist I need to see tho.

Quit the PT last Friday. Going back to the gym at the rec center here. I pray you are feeling OK. Love the pick of the wabbit hole. I thank you for posting the meds we can feed our dogs, I printed it, dh was happy too.

Dara - I have to agree with the rest of our girls, that pic of Logan and his 'green doggie', jes to f'n adorable. Jes a few more days and u get ur stiches out…woohoo.

Jazz - have lots of fun and if u gamble, hope the gambling angels are good to you.

Hsant - so much going on with you too. Saying lots of prayers for you and your dad. Try to find a reason to laugh a little in your daily routine, sounds stupid but really works…well, mmost of the time.

Sandy - wow, u had some strict parents. We seemed to all have bikes and skates, back then u used a key on the skates. And aside from my parents telling us to lock our bikes…we had many stolen. So glad to hear the cords are ok. Voice therapy doesn't sound bad hope it helps.

Hi Lynne - when r u going to Vegas? I'll b there on 3-7 and 3-14 for tests and onco appt. Would love to see u again.

Lowee - ref my son and QB's. He is handling things now and plus our H&R tax gal has agreed to take my job for a very reasonable monthly stipend. All he has to do is come p/up his ¼lies from me. Thought he was coming last week, but it'll be tomorrow. But I am so happy to be done with it. LMAO with the pics of the lamp shade hats. Makes me remember doing the lamp shade with Mrs. Vino when we all met. I can't even remember the hotel or city…I'm a Mess.

NM - good to hear u are healing. Good Sadie, giving you some heat. I've been spending so much time in mese bed, my pooches block me in and hog the covers. Baxter gets my upper back and Bella takes my legs.

Cami - loving the Blue Velvet DOTD.

I kno I missed some of you, accept my apologies as I love ya all to the moon and back.

Good groaner, Cami. (I love puns). Have your docs tested you for “exocrine pancreatic insufficiency," aka EPI? (Heard about it on a WBBM news radio commercial yesterday). Its main symptom is the Big D.

Knocked off some leftover chicken breast vesuvio last night, so DOTD was a couple oz. of Vendange chardonnay (unoaked). Cheap but decent.

OMG I'm here alone, oh I'm kinda used to it.

Sandy Thank u so much for that EPI reference, I'll find out--I never heard of that one, oops maybe they haven't either, who knows?

SusyQ u've got the cute hat. OK what kind of Dr. do u go to for the white matter? Too many Drs. and meds. no wonder why we're loopy and hurt-Wow u'rs is u'r left leg, mine is my ight-like there would be another choice. Certain times of the day it's horrible, what I hate is I hear myself groaning and I never heard my parents groan and I do it all the time when I move. LOL

Oh Dara I don't think I want another one. It would never be just mine. I know that sounds terrible but I've had Katie-Kat for so long and she lived with me alone so even tho she enjoyed everyone but was MINE and she always did certain things with me. Actually Pets don't like me unless they have no choice, like my cats did, then they lubs me. My fist cat was crazy about me too, but when Marty walked in she was all over him, just like Katie--they both would push Leslie away--but this last year Katie even liked Leslie--it took her that long--They all love Marty--he's a lover of all furbabies that's why.

Whoops this lamp is getting heavy--oh oh I think it's supposed to be the shade only, wait ...ok that's better. fits nicely. burp

Oh Sandy that's cute and I believe that too--My oldest DD got me my first cat and I was so scared she had to stay for the weekend with me, I don't even know why she got her for me, then I was so happy with her then a lady I woked with and I barely knew came into the office and just said I have to get rid of my cat? She had 2 big black guard dogs and the cat was uncomfortable and only 1 yr old and I said after my first cat died I would never get another one. Well she brought her over and again my DD had to spend just one nite this time. LOL But when we all moved my kids got a dog Border Collie/Lab really nice but the first day I didn't know what to expect and she went up to the dog slapped him across the face and they totally got along after that. Didn't play together but didn't bother each other either. But we can tell he's looking for her he goe around to each room. Poor thing.

    OK I'm done.

And it sounds like another storm coming in, the weather people are using the "B" word for Monday, not good news, but am waiting to see what actually happens. The Aunty-B's and steroids have done their thing, cough almost gone except when I get into smoky places or places with lots of perfumes, air fresheners, or spray cleaners. Had a long day at work last night, got a call to go do an admission that was 60 miles away from where I was, then my GPS took me to the wrong place, ended up driving 99 miles once all was said and done. Fortunately the family was understanding about my being so late. Got to finish the data entry into the computer today, though, so there goes a few hours of my weekend.Sigh.

Cammy--the driving yesterday was fine where I am, today may be a different story, but I only plan to go about 10 miles and do some grocery shopping.Never seem to have time to do that on the way home from work lately. Not going out tomorrow, Monday will have to be decided on Monday.

    Pretty DOTD!

Dara--Good idea to adopt a homeless kitty for Joey. Glad the hand is healing, yuck on the dental appointment being rescheduled. Join me in the hot tub for some Blue Velvets this weekend?

Mema--the furbabies are good at making sure we get tucked in and warmed up, aren't they?

Now THAT is a lampshade party hat!!!!

Chi--there seem to be more and more pancreatic problems popping up in the last few years. Wonder what's going on with that?

Cammy--WOW, you even coordinated your outfit with your lampshade hat! And I do think our pets find us, not the other way around.

    Goldie--LOL!
