    Good Morning,

Boy, Lori you sure get up early!!! We stay up late, get up late, so have to make sure all appts are after 9am (ideally, after 10!). Like your idea of the lounge called "Hot Tatties Lounge" and still up for grabs on the swim up pool bar. Then my choice would be Mermaids, or Banana Hammock (since our "pants" and "jocks" would look good in them!) for the pool/garden bar.

Looks like severe storms across the SE today, and my parents arrive from Hawaii this evening (thru Atlanta, then Huntsville)...hope they don't enounter any of it. Have a great day, my cyber bar buds!

Ditto my support for Hot Tatties and Banana Hammock.  Sending some sunshine to the snowbound.  It will be 83 here today.  I'll be swimming up to the BH and having the boys concoct me a cocktail this afternoon.  My mint is thriving, so maybe it will be a mojito.

Not quite as warm here in northern AZ Carol, but I will take one of those Mojitos! Cool

I wish the original poster was around so she could edit the topic. Put in the bar names along with a picture of Pants & Jocks!

Kathy, enjoy you Mum & Dad, hope they arrive safely. Maybe you could bring them out to the garden, and introduce us all to them.

Well off to town, SO going in to get appt for his colonoscopy......Me next!

SurprisedI think maybe we have all lost our minds~ BUT ITS FUN!

Okay....sounds SO good so far...Hot Tatties Lounge and Banana Hammock Pool Bar...that will be my final votes too. But everyone still has time to vote on something else!

Lori, Good for you, getting the colonoscopy. I go every 5 yrs, and actually the "rest" part is wonderful...totally oblivious to everything and wake up refreshed. Just the prep that is a pain in the.....well you know what I mean...lol. Thanks for hoping my parents arrive safely....they even closed all the schools early as they think it will really be a rough storm...just went through this am in N. TX where my DD lives and she said there was a lot of hail too...I think they are worried about tornadoes here though. Just got a call from Delta while I was writing this, and there already is an hr delay for their flight to leave Atlanta tonight...glad they are making it later...maybe the worst of the storm will have passed over. (Maybe you can PM the OP and see if she is still on this site and can edit the title and add the pics?)

Carol, bring all the mint you can spare...mojitos sound super!

Well....heading out to the pool....jocks looks pretty hot out there right now...and the drinks look nice and cool!

Bar, lounge, whatever. As long as I'm welcome I don't care what it's called!  :)

Just got back from Ireland and while there had to drink the beer, had a Bass (a long-ago fave) and a Kilkinney (??? it was kil-something and red with a big head Surprised) and also tried for the first time Glenmorange 18 year whicg was yummy! Got a great deal on Tyrconnell single malt Irish whiskey whicl I'll report on another time.

    Cheers!

Yummmmm....those beers sound good right about now! I envy your Ireland visit...I have wanted to go there for a long time, then find amazing deals on trips and end up going anywhere BUT there! I need to keep some time open for a trip there. What times of the year are best to visit there? Sounds like you had fun!!!

Good evening ladies!  Love the lounge.  I am kinda dragging butt tonight.  Too many doc appts this week and juggling work.  I do need a drink.  I might need water wings if I swim.  God knows I won't need to style my hair when I get out of the pool.  Our weather here in the west seems disgruntled.  Rain, hail, wind.  Typical spring I guess.  Goldie, you do make me laugh.  That is a good thing.  wahine...thanks for taking over the ballot box.  Stormy1....damn...would have loved to have had breakfast with you this morning.  I guess the Banana Hammock area has wifi access too.  Wonderful!      Colonoscopy... eek...haven't broken that trail yet.  Hipahipa!  HunkyD

...going with the flow to name the bar...had hoped to think of something udderly fantastic to throw into the pot--but brain turned to mush last night...after I'd priced Johnny Walker Blue Label on line--HOLY SHIT!!!   Hubby will have to be a reeaallllyyyy good boy to get a bottle for his birthday!!!

Speaking of colonoscopys--anything is okay here, right????   Hubby had his 1st one a couple years ago.   The doctor took me back to see him as he was waking up...he was in a curtained off area...and my first words to him were..."I now have proof!  You are an a**hole!!!"   I did not realize that there were many curtained off areas each holding someone who was recovering from the procedure--there were immediate laughs, chuckles--I was mortified!!   Thank goodness he was still groggy!!!!

I need a drink--off to find Pants!!!!  hugggssssss to all!!!

I just realized this swim up bar has recliners. Sweet.  I won't ask Pants for a foot rub until you all get your beverages.

I'm on Singulair for capsular contraction, so I'm supposed to be careful with the liquor.  I'm always careful.  Spilling is a crime.

Ooooh you ladies are sooooo much fun! Laughing

Kathy, let us know when your parents get there, just want to know they arrive safely. Where do you live? As for the OP, I looked at her profile and her last post was in 06, I believe. So, doesn't appear that she is around anymore. Hopefully, just not posting and that she is fine.

Jaybird, sounds like you are too busy traveling to even be thinking of a name! I am jealous. Do you travel for work or just pleasure?

Hunkydory, sorry you are feeling sluggish with so much going on. Have to get you a floaty, to float around in the pool, unless of you want wings to swim. But I hear ya on not havig to style the hair! It just does its own thing.  ......and wifi.....OF COURSE. HD on that big screen tv too!

Junie, start saving! I don't know how expensive it is, but how do drink things that cost so much? I think I would feel guilty, like I could have spent the $$$ on something else. But I imagine you drink it the same way you would something cheap!          I say yes, anything is ok here. Too funny about your comment to DH, bet you made everyones day with that one!  As for names for our beautiful lounge and outside pool and garden area, if you or anyone else comes up with something, we can always change it!

Carol, if you spill that drink, we will just have Pants get you another one. As for that foot rub, Jocks doesn't seem to be too busy. Nice to have two bartenders, or maybe I should say "tattietenders".    We have a high wind advisory up here in the white mountains today, up to 60 mph gusts, need to go outside and make sure everything is tied down. By the way......love those new recliners, hope they put some in the tv area. Recliners in the pool could be interesting to say the least, have to keep on eye on anyone that is tipping a little too much, don't want anyone passing out, reclined too much in the pool, if ya know what I mean. But then mouth to mouth sounds pretty good from one of our tattietenders!

Enough babbling, have a wonderful day girls

Lori, you are a riot!!! I like your "tattietenders"....too funny! Hope you don't get any damage from those high winds today. We had up to 80mph with the severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings last night...seems like a tornado touched down in a trailer park just outside of the city...no one hurt though, which is lucky. Thanks for asking about my parents...flight kept getting delayed from Atlanta, and they finally arrived around 9 pm, 3 hrs late! I was so glad though, since we even had another warning siren go off as we left for the airport. Funny to watch the flight tracker and see how far out of the way the pilot had to go to miss the thunderstorms! I live in Northern AL...Madison...right next to Huntsville. What part of AZ are you in? We used to love to go to Scottsdale and Sedona...love it there. Good shopping (Scottsdale) and such beautiful rock formations, esp in Sedona. But its so hot, that I used to have to plan our trips to avoid the months from May-Sept...I guess by now I am more used to the moist heat we have in AL (Hawaii is much, much more temperate!).

junie...how funny! Can just imagine your expression when you realized the others had heard what you said...priceless!

hunkyd...sorry, but I can't take over the ballot box...leaving early Sunday...so its up to you all! Just post the winning names, and I can catch up when I get back....anything is really ok with me. I just love the areas that have been "virtually" imagined...such a great group of gals here. So creative! Can just picture us all hanging out around (and in) the pool...and oh those recliners....this is the life!

    Take care everyone!

Oh wahine...please forgive my ignorance.  I forgot about your cruise.  Had to go back a couple of pages to bring my chemo infestered brain up to date.  I hope you have a marvelous time and that your pooches get good care.  I am ready for the weekend.  I am going to to get on one of the recliners and only leave it to go to the ladies room.  I hope you don't mind my abbreviation of the establishments name, but I more than often will refer to it as HTL. For right now...I am headed out to the Banana Hammock.  Hope to see a lot of you all there.  I agree...we have a fine group here.  I hope they allow bottles of beer and genuine bar glasses out there instead of the el cheapo plastic cups.  I'm sure we won't have anyone breaking glass.  I know...I worry about such silly little things, but I d_amn well want my glass.  Goldie..my short hair will be a breeze to tend.  Saw your pics on the hair hair hair thread which I follow religiously....yours looks great.  Happy Friday to all....HunkyD

HunkyD, No problem; I sure can't keep up with everyone either! That is cute....HTL...easier to write too. Well, of course we will have genuine bar glasses...I mean this is a first class lounge! Ummmm....enjoy the recliners for me...I really have to start packing. And the foot rubs from Jocks...heaven! Hope there will still be room for me there when I get back!

junie, What about the probs in Cozumel? We will be there for one day, then Columbia, Panama, and Costa Rica. Will be in Panama on Easter Sunday---the FIRST time I have missed easter with the family. Guess I won't have to do cooking and all those dishes...might be wonderful actually! Anyone going to our HTL on Easter sunday....don't squeeze the buns too hard...(You know I mean the Hot Cross Buns, right???lol).

Lori, I told my mom about our lounge, and she thought it sounded like such fun!

Ok...now its time for Seagram's 7/Diet Pepsi...Pants, don't let me get too thirsty now! Cheers everyone!!!

    Hi Chaps

Been MIA for a few days coz I have had a bloody hellish infection - upper resp. I have been a phlem factory for over a week.

Lost my voice through coughing. I live alone and couldn't answer the phone, just heavy breathing. Sounded like a pervy phone call!!!!  On 2nd round of antibiotics so now felling a million per cent better. I am never ill, pre this nasty wee beasty lurking in my boob trying to kill me, so feeling weak and feeble is horrible!!!

Purdah is like self imposed confinement - it's Asain in origin and because I have had a 'bad' round of chemo, I feel kinda like that. Stir crazy, but feeling too crappy to leave the house!!

Keep telling myself only 2 more chemos to go, and my tumour shrunk from over 4cm to 16mm -AT IT'S WIDEST POINT, so I am giddy with relief.

Will have finished FEC by end of April, and will have had surgery by the end of May so the horizon isn't too distant, my dear, sweet, boozy sisters!

My dear fun cousin is on something called Litrer Life -one of these horrible weigth loss things that cost a fortune but can't eat anything snd can only drink black tea and 2 litres of water a day? Do you have that across the pond. Anyway she will be off this Nazi routine by May - so we already planning to do some damage!!!!! Will be great to go out and have some real fun. Yvonne can kill a bottle of Bacardi and walk a straight line, so the jole is that after 2 drinks we will prob end up in hosp! We just want our lives to go back to something approaching normal. She had a wee health scare and needed to shed the pounds quickly but is now almost at target.

Still can take Guiness - we all know that's medicine amyway, and the other fab Irish beers, creamy and gentle and TASTY even through the lack of tastebuds Will have a couple tomorrow, getting my angel sister's birthday pressie tomorrow. Her son, my darling nephew, and I are having a lovely Glasgow day. I live 10 miles outside Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland with OFFICIALLY the best shopping in the UK outside London, so shopping is an almost religous experience!!! And my sis has bee my rod and my staff through this journey. The fact that she is senior nurse hasn't hurt either, so I plan to get her something truly faboulous. She is an angel of god. Sorry, soppy moment!!

Anyhow, full of antibiotics, and with a wig that is identical to my hair, looking forward to a great day out.

Yes, the interaction between Ireland and Scotland is immense. My family are Irish and I ADORE the island of Ireland. When were were kids, we finished school (Easter, summer break) on the Friday and on  Saturday we were on the ferry to Ireland for the whole summer. My daddy, who came from Co. Monachen (Clones) would go to work Mon - Friday and get the ferry from Cairnryan to Larne on Friday night and back to Scotland on Sunday night. The whole family went, aunties, grannies (both Irish) cousins animals etc, and we booked a row of chalets, normally in Brae (the Naples of Ireland) in Co. Wicklow or in Dunegal, where my maternal gran came from.

Lots of Irish people came to Glasgow after the Famine, but lots more came for work in the 20th century where work was scarce in Ireland. However, Ireland is  now the Celtic Tiger and awash with poets and scholers and achedemics. No one reads like an Irish person, god do we love to read!!!

It's quite funny, there are 3 Celtic peoples in the UK. The Scots (incidenally, the Scots were an Irish tribe. Promise you, it's true - Google it!!!!) who are massive inventors - inventing everything from antibiotics to television! the Irish who have 3 Nobel prize winner authors and the Welsh who ....... sing ......)

With love and best wishes and good drinking

You Scottish/Irish but definitly NOT Welsh friend

    Hi girls,

I have put together my vision of our "Hot Tatties" Lounge and "Banana Hammock" pool and garden area. It is too big to post the pic, so only posting a link. Copy and save if you like.

Welcome back Nettie, but sorry to hear of the infection. Sounds like you need to have a seat in one of loungers out by the pool and have Jocks bring you a drink of your choice and give you a nice massage.

Kathy, I am in NE Arizona, elevation 6000'. Sedona IS GORGEOUS! We do doctors in Scottsdale for SO, not a big shopper here. Country girl. We live off the grid on 80 acres and run an internet business. Your mom and dad just got there, and you are leaving for cruise. They going with you? Guess you have to watch out for the drug cartels in Mexico. Although casinogirl went and didn't encounter any problems. But have fun, and we'll save ya a seat in the bar, or in the pool!

    Cheers

Ooops forget to tell, I had an addition made to our lounge. Had them put in an indoor pool for us! For those cold, grey gloomy days!

    ENJOY!

OMG Lori....you are truly amazing!!! Don't know how you put all those pics together, but they are just perfect...now I can just visualize being there. It is so awesome!!! And to think it all started with "Underpants"...I think you thought we should have him for a bartender, am I right? You have a great imagination, and it is so neat how our bar has evolved into this marvelous paradise. Now an indoor pool too....wow...I think we should just all move in! My mom loves to cruise and we used to always take her and my stepdad with us. After he passed, and my parents remarried (5 yrs ago), she is finally getting my dad interested in cruises. Hard to go on any from Hawaii, except for between the islands, or to CA., so when they planned their trip here, I found this awesome cruise for us. We will both have balcony rooms (across the hall)....so whoever has the best view at Happy Hour will be hosting it that day! My dad is the one that got a prune juice bottle just so he could empty it and use it to smuggle his bourbon onto the ship. He is so amazing it is hard to believe he is 92! I like the country too--had a small farm w/ horses w/ my late DH. Bet your land is so pretty! What kind of internet business do you have? Anything we could help drum up business for?

Nettie, Glad that your chemo will soon be over! Sorry you have been so sick...definately not fun, but glad you are doing much better now. Interesting how you went to Ireland so much growing up...neat! Maybe you can tell me which months are best to visit Ireland? On this side of the pond, there are lots of strange diets, prob have the same one your cousin is on, but I haven't heard of it. Hope you find a wonderful present for your sister!

Well, going to check out this indoor pool. SO heavenly....lights are dim...water is nice and warm...pants is making up some special drinks and floating them over...what could be better!

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Wahine--Cozumel from a cruise ship will be fine!   There were earlier warnings from the State Dept about travel to Mexico--recommended that spring breakers not go--but aimed more at border towns and Mexico City...lots of problems with gun smuggling, drugs, and kidnappings...bon voyage!!!

Lori--terrific photo album of our favorite hangout!!!   Only thing left to do is build some fantastic rooms and we'll have, not only a bar--ooopps, lounge, but a full-fledged resort!!   We need to include 24/7 room service, too!!!

Nettie--hope you are feeling more than just a wee bit better!   Good to hear that the chemo is doing its job and you're looking at the end of that!

Cyber hugs to all--now, taking a leisurely stroll with drink in hand to check out all our new additions!!!

The next round is in honor of you Lori, all those floating drinks will probably fill up the pool. My husband has offered to sip on some so as they don't capsize.

Good evening girls.....glad you liked the visual. Like I said, it was my vision...how I thought things would look! I just hope you all like it.

Stormy, how's that leg doing? I hope "Pants" is taking good care of you. Find yourself a nice comfy place to sit, put your leg up, and Pants can get you whatever you like.

Nettie m'dear, how are you doing? I hope chemo isn't being too rough on you. If it is, you know where to come!

Dee, aren't you the one responsible for "Hot Tatties"? Are you too going through treatment? I just noticed yours and Netties diag. dates, and see you are both Jan, 09. Both of you hang in there!

Kathy, you are the one that came up with "Banana Hammock"! I just think that sounds fun, raises curiosity and just perfect for the outside pool/bar/garden area. Yes, it was me that found our tattietenders, but I believe it was Hunky that named him/them. When are you leaving? (might already be gone) Hope Dad got his prune juice bottles cleaned out for his bourbon. As for me, I really am not a funny person. I am a quiet, layed back person. Our internet business is selling drip irrigation, and it does very well! We started another one, as a main supplier of soaker hose and will be donating 1% of sales to BC research.

HunkyD, I believe you are the one that came up with "Underpants" which got shortened to "Pants". Don't remember who came up with "Jocks", although I don't think it was intended for one of tattietenders names. But it worked perfectly. Thanks too for the hair comment. I can't wait for it to get long enough to do something with!

I forgot to ad a pool table to our pictures, but we do have one!

Ok, well I think I have babbled enough! Have a great weekend girls.

Lori, Thanks for mentioning who thought of what names...I thought you had thought of most of them, but now I realize what a joint effort this has been! The only reason I came up with "Banana Hammock" was from a google search for bar names! I have a friend in the irrigation business too, in Hawaii, but not sure if they sell online or just at site. So neat that you are donating some of the sales to BC research....you deserve a big drink for that!!!

Girls, did I do a big faux pas!!! My dad was pointing out how we are flying into and out of Tampa. I said no, our cruise and hotel are in Ft. Lauderdale...he must be mistaken. NOPE...somehow I booked us flying to the wrong city!!! What a huge headache I have tonight, and wish I could just chill at our lounge. Finally got cars rented 1 way for tomorrow and end of cruise....will be another 4+hr drive now. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!! How could I have not noticed it before???? Well, I have been working on our Vegas/CA trip next month, and booking shows, cars, etc., and just thought I was all set on the cruise stuff. Tattietenders....PLEASE make me a double...and throw in a good back massage too...maybe that will help. At least it helps to think about!

Take care gals, and hope everyone is doing well...I know I will have a lot to catch up on when I get back.

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Wow, I want to move in Lori.  Great job with the pics.  Wahine...hope you have a great trip and we will be ready for you when you get home.  I wish your dad a Full Prune Juice bottle at every port.  Bon voyage!  Dee...glad to your doing so well after surgery.  I may have some coming up also.  Nettie...wonderful history lesson "from across the pond"  Glad you are responding so well with chemo and hope you enjoyed your guiness and shopping.  Stormy1....almost time for a new cast?  Glad your husband got to see the HTL and liked it.  I think my husband might not appreciate Pants and Jocks, but hey, sometimes shit happens. The weekend sure did sneak by.  I guess I'll just relax today out at the Banana Hammock with the TattieTenders.  I'm going to watch them close and see if they are hiding any Eastereggs for next Sunday.  I noticed them hardboiling some eggs inside and they tried to tell me that the pickled egg jar was empty.  I think they are up to something.   Later all!  HunkyD

Wow. I didn't hear of any Easter egg hunts being planned. The only part that ever bothered me was everyone having to eat egg salad sandwiches on monday.

Thanks for the great names everyone. Even if we cannot have them on a flashing neon sign out front I'm sure there will always be a warm welcome and full house inside.

Later. I'm off for the total relaxation total body massage experience. Yay.

    Yep, I'm just roaming...................   Laughing

    So, to answer some questions:

I am a flight attendant and I'm in Europe (and elsewhere) all the time so the opportunity to try and buy good scotch (beer, too) presents itself fairly regularly. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label I bought in Moscow cost me about $125. (duty free price minus airline discount and decent exchange rate)

I'm off to Greece this week and while I won't be bringing back any scotch or beer (have enough beer, my fave being 1664) I will be bringing back some olive oil. I'll report back on my liquor consumption but I'm sure it will be beer over wine as I truly prefer French wines over any other.

Oh, I saw this sign at the firestation:

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. Are there people out there that aren't aware of alcohol???

    Cheers! Tongue out
