Ilona, too bad there’s no longer a Rigby & Peller (formerly Intimacy Boutique) in the Houston Galleria. They have expert fitters, who don't just go by the usual measure-below-the-bustline/around-the-fullest-part/subtract-the-former-from-the-latter formula; but rather see how your current bra fits, note the brand & size, and then find something that fits you properly. Nordstrom's is pretty good in the fitting dept. too. But ThirdLove.com, True&Company, and HerRoom.com all have online fitting tools to help you assess. (They even have sketches to which you can match your own breasts most closely—e.g., asymmetry, shape, size, cleavage, even nipple direction; and questionnaires to help you assess your proper size). If you can get a handle on what size you wear, I find that the comfiest wire-free yet supportive bras that give you the right silhouette (fullest part should be midway between shoulder & elbow) are Cacique (Lane Bryant), Wacoal, and Olga (which makes a slightly shaped/padded one that looks like it has an underwire but doesn't really). There's always the old standby Playtex 18-Hour (they're finally making more than just black/white/beige). Most women make the mistake of buying too large a band size and too small a cup. Don’t leave the store with a bra that doesn’t fit properly, because it might be final-sale.

Don’t get caught up in numbers and letters—find one that fits, by trial & error. If you are going the try-it-on-yourself route, make sure the band is level across the middle of the back (if it rides up it's too big) and the center lies flat against the chest between your breasts (if it gapes, or you get bulges above the top cup line, the cups are too small). Remember that for any given cup size letter designation, the bigger the band the bigger the actual cup capacity. The cup in a 34D will be the same as in a 36C or 38B. And if you find you have to go up several band sizes to find a cup large enough (especially in brands that offer no cups bigger than DD or DDD), you need to step out of Kohl's, Wal-Mart or Target and go to a good dept. store like Nordstrom's that carries brands like Goddess, Panache or Elomi that offer cups up to H or I (or larger). These mid-priced European brands (and the really pricy ones like Prima Donna, Empreinte, Marie Jo or Chantelle) also have pretty colors in larger cup sizes. If your lumpectomy boob is smaller, fit the cup to your larger one and pad the smaller one if need be. I like Third Love’s new 24/7 bra because its memory foam accommodates asymmetry (they call it cup-and-a-half-sizes) and makes you look symmetrical, with a nice vertical cleavage and straps that stay up. It’s offered in sizes from 32 A-40 F. (The largest & smallest sizes are limited to a couple of shades of “nude,” but if you’re in-between the two extremes you have a much wider choice of colors).

Also, a post-radiation breast might actually be temporarily bigger due to enlargement of a seroma, so don’t buy too many bras too soon. You may be going up and then down again. Before my lumpectomy, my R breast was the slightly smaller one and I was 38I; after, I went up to 40I or even 38J to accommodate the swelling from rads in my R breast. Now that the seroma is almost gone, my R breast is a full cup smaller than the L again (though it actually looks more normal than the droopy L). I am now 40F (or in a bra with a more generously-sized band, 38G). But with a slightly-padded bra like the Third Love, I needn’t add a pad to the R side.

Thanks for all the tips Sandy. I had a reduction and lift with my lumpectomy, so they match and I have no further reconstruction. I decided to get an inexpensive bra for now (I'm returning to work next week). Once radiation is done, I'll find something nice and well fitting and I do like cacique, so I'll probably start there :)

Good Morning, Loungettes! I am pleased to report that I got the bedroom cleaned up and the bed made yesterday as planned. Took all day at 5 to 10 minutes at a time, and I was dripping sweat each session even with the AC on, but it got done. Left the AC on overnight and slept great, too. Even Sadie was content to sleep on the bed with me for a change. 2 bags of clothes to give away, and a good start on refilling the dumpster. Almost caught up with the laundry as a bonus! Sadie and I are going to Mom and Dick's to visit and probably to swim in the lake. Right now it looks cloudy, but that will probably burn off, it's supposed to be hotter today than yesterday, still with high humidity (94%, dew point 65 F). I think I'll probably not do too much today and pick up again tomorrow.

Jazzy--love that fit, strong feeling you get from swimming.I used to swim a mile a day when I was in college and it was great. Wish lap swimming could be so convenient again now as it was when I lived in the dorm next door to the pool. Progressive degenerative diseases are a real challenge to live with an to manage, and no hope of cure does not make it any easier. Good for you for helping your sister get some time off from caretaking, some exercise and a chance to talk through some things. That kind of support is invaluable. Those Fun labels are really runny!I love them! Decluttering sure is a process, that's for sure. For me, simplest works best. As long as I don't look at the whole big picture I don't get freaked and overwhelmed.

Chi--I can understand Bob's not going back to that GI Group. Funny that the doc is now lecturing, sounds like he's working for a pharmaceutical company now, that should keep him out of trouble. Don't blame him for not filing suit, I looked into that at one point and the amount of work and money needed to even start the process is exorbitant, and in a situation where a known risk occurred, very hard to win. Boy your tomato plant is bound and determined to lie down on the job! Good luck keeping it upright!

Being home is not so easy, I can't walk by myself and lots more pills and rapping limbs , I've got nurse coming tody and a therapist, so we'll see what's going on for help. Pain is chronic but not like before anyway. Hope it stays that way. Joey is still my baby for sure. He didn't want to leave my side and said just having u home mkes my heart so happy and cuddled and when he cam home came right into my room and smiled and said it again, he has a friend <girl> coming over today and tonite we'll watch scary movie, his idea, which I enjoy...so that's what's going on here. Good afternoon friends- I am pleased to report that we have had not one but two rounds of moisture in the past 24 hours. I was in the garage yesterday working on some of the storage to go through boxes to donate stuff, recycle, shred, etc. and the skies began to rumble. Within a short period of time, there was a driving rain, wind, etc. and it was blowing in to the garage so I closed things up (and lost the better light to do my work) and took a break until it finished up. I think it rained for a good hour or more, then heard it raining again before bed last night. The yard is happy, although one of my trees is getting yellow leaves and way too early for that. So it must be stressed from the summer. I hope the rain will help the parched landscape, fires around, etc.

I made some solid progress yesterday on the garage and have a lot of the home stuff sorted through and taking more to thrift and home consignment before I head to CA on wed night. Next is working through some of the paper storage (business records I need to retain in case of audit) and that is my next chore to get working on.

This morning I was out to one of my favorite boutiques that was having their summer clearance. I came away with the most FABULOUS dress for our outing to the Pagent of the Masters in Laguna next week. I will say having lost some weight that some of the things in my closet are too big (got some things to take to consignment next), so having something that fits like a glove and looks and feels great was so fun to try on and wear. One has to look good in Laguna!

NM- so very cool that you used to swim a lot in college. Although I have always been a big swimmer, I was never on any of the teams in high school or college. I have more endurance than speed, so I would be better to swim the English Cancel. I read about a guy who swam at a shark fest event from Alcatraz to the SF Bay and sort of like that for a challenge instead of the senior olympics. And I agree that having access to a good pool (or any exercise facility) is key to keeping up with swimming. The aquatic center I go to is only a couple miles from my house and had good options for swimming over the day and on the weekends. I am going to send you a PM with a picture of me taken there yesterday.

You are doing GREAT with the decluttering. Dumpster stuff, bags to donations, etc. I hope that you can take a break and go swim today, see your mom and Dick and have time with Miss Sadie. Time to slow down and smell the roses.

Cami- so glad to hear you are home, but hear you are adjusting. Meds to manage, therapy to do, and more. You got your hair colored and know that must feel good. I also have your buddy Joey there right by your side. A girl coming over, I like it. Supervised date too, good for teenager but know Joey is a good boy though.

Chi- have you lost any more weight with your fitness regime?

For a couple of you that I am on FB with, I am taking a break from that for the next 10 days. Was going to do so while I was in CA but decided to leave a bit early. I am FB weary at the moment. I may be here less too starting next Wed until I am back. Trying to focus on the family visit and some other worky type things.

Hoping all the other sisters here are having a good weekend Happy

NM, glad you realized your mistake in your decluttering, of the second guessing. You WILL get it done! Don't be too disappointed about the Farmers Market, pretty soon they will be closed for the winter! We have a swamp cooler to cool things here, but they don't work when it's humid out. Yay for getting the bedroom done.

Jazzy, sorry about the declining health in your sister's partner. Glad you will be there for her. I hope she is not suffering. And you have the garage done. We got a little moisture yesterday as well. Thanks for letting us know you will not be here as much during your time away.

Just wow on that sugar tax Sandy. Glad we don't drink any pop, unless eating at a fast food joint, which is rarely. Generally we just order water with lemon and NEVER have pop at home. Boy, that tomato plant just didn't want to stay upright!

Cami, that is too funny about asking if you can drink. You are a nut. And of course Joey is glad to have you home. I just hope it helped.

As for the movie, I just thought it was so so. Not worth paying for, but to watch on tv would be ok. Most of the movie was her chasing the car that had her son in it. And all you heard, at least 500 times, was "Oh my God" or "Oh God". There were a few crash scenes, and of course the rescue in the end. I would say BOOOOOORING! Heading out today for a ride and bbq lunch in the woods.

    Good Morning Ladies,

    Happy Sunday Funday.

NM I do hope u'r not doing any work today, but I think u'r seeing u'r mom and Dick, which I'm sure they're happy about. U know u manage to fit morethings in that when u worked like a crazy lady. It's funny <not really> but as I stayed in rehab and got to know the nurses and ot's--it's the sme problem with management and not enough people and they're all getting tired of it. What a shme good people who love their work are miserable and just struggle to keep up with demands. All these big concerns that make the rules are all crazy and that's so bad. I'm so glad u'r out of that insanity and now have time for u'rself and Sadie.

Jazzy BTW u look great and how great it is to buy a new dress that can show it. I know this trip wil be difficult, but of course u will give u'r sister a chance to get out and relax some. Like I said u r the perfect person for that. I know I will miss u'r beautiful scenery, it's so enjoyable. The girl Joey had over is a character her hair always has different color streaks in it--this week it was red and she can pull it off. Her hair is naturally blonde so she relly is creative.

Sandy I know u saw Dunkirk and now I've heard mor of my friends have and all said the same thing, , now I think someone is catching Kidnap so I'm waiting for the reviews. Well u've been really busy lately too, I always like hearing that. Hope they get the anemia in control.

Lori I'm so so glad I'm home, but I think I thought I would feel better, Jeez this is a long haul. The nurse came over yesterdy for vitals--fine-then an OT cam e over for eval and I guess I have lot to go yet==I hate that I need so much help right now and I'm sure u noticed my typing is worse that usual but u've figured it out, cuz u always have. I pray u'r doing good. Are u still busy with work???

Joey and I watched this crazy stupid movie that he had to explain to me.The grasshopper has mastered mor than the master---brat, but cuddled so it's worth it.

I was down to 7 pills a day now I'm back up to 15, good thing I have 20 digits to count with or I'd really be screwed. Well that word isn't in my vocabulary any longer, but I do use plenty of slang for it. And one person actually wrote down what I answer calls for what business, of course I said escorts. I asked her to erase it--what I need cops at my door. I told everyone not to come over yet, I'm a mess OK OK I'm feeling sorry for myself right now so plese forgive me But u gals know I throw everything at u cuz I know u all understand and give me some good advice along the way.

BTW my brain is still floopy so I'm sorry when I don't adress everyone.

Good morning friends- I had a perfectly lovely evening at the jazz under the stars last night. The artist was a flugel horn player out of Washington, partnered with some of the best local jazz players out of Santa Fe. His name is Dmitri Matheny and so enjoyed the music and bought his new CD, Jazz Noir. Got to talk to him too while he was signing the CDs and very nice fellow. Love jazz artists as they are so cool, and fun and love their audiences.

The weather was a bit stormy around town and there were a few sprinkles but the evening was cool and lovely! I did not partake in any cocktails as I have plans for exercise today (slows me down)

Here is a clip of him from You Tube for you to listen to with your sunday morning coffee:

Will write a bit more later and check in with a few more of you individually too.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Boy, it is amazing the difference the drop of a few degrees in the dew point makes to how the air feels. Dew Point is 58 degrees this ayem, Humidity still pretty high at 87% but with the nice breeze it feels so much more comfortable than the last few days. The thunder bumpers that came through last night really cleared things out. Good thing since I need to get the dumpster filled today.Got 3/4 inch of rain in the storms last night, and that is making my gardens happier.Had a nice visit with Mom and Dick yesterday. Dick's mental status is definitely declining, which is hard to see. And watching both of them moving in slow motion is hard, too. Dick's ex-wife is now in assisted living due to Alzheimer's dementia, their kids bring her to the lake once in a while but she doesn't remember living there anymore. So much decline and aging going on around me is a little frightening. Mom is going to change her medical Power of Attorney from Dick to me next week as he can't comprehend complex conversations anymore. Mom doesn't want Dick to know cuz he'll get upset and angry, and he is already upset about his declining memory but doesn't want to admit that there is anything really wrong. This phase of dementia is so friggin' hard for everyone involved. At least now I can be sure to get out there to see them once at least once a week, and can be available if they need help. And they are blessed with many friends and his kids who are also available and willing to help. Gives me more motivation to work on the cleaning and decluttering and get my home back to a place of peace and comfort. I'm going to need a sanctuary when their care needs pick up. But that's OK, it's life and I'll cope.

Image result for I'll Cope with it

Cammy!WELCOME HOME!!!!!Now I'm going to go into Nurse mode and lecture you. You need to do what you are supposed to do now that you are home so that you can stay home a long, long time. Being good following instructions over the next few weeks or months will set you up for staying home and as functional as possible for as long as possible. Starting to take shortcuts now will only shorten the time you get to stay home! So, makes sure you have help when you get up for now, make sure you use the walker for now, let the nurse and physical therapist make suggestions and help you get settled in safely. There are lots of things that can be done to make organizing the pills easier and less time consuming. Doing the PT exercises will continue you on the recovery road beyond where you are now. OK, lecture over. I bet Joey is very glad to have you home, and now he has a GIRL friend? Wow! Scary movie sounds like fun. Enjoy!

    Image result for Welcome Home

Jazzy--sounds like some nice rain you got! I love watching storms coming in, with the wind and clouds all moving around. Does make for working in the dark, though. I can just imagine how good you felt finding that dress! Nothing like feeling good inyour clothes to make you feel good in general. I'm like you, love swimming but no real speed, but had really good endurance. Was never on a team. I did take yesterday off from house work, except for hanging out one load of laundry before I left and bringing it in before bed, but didn't go swimming as it was cloudy and very windy. Would not have been much fun. Will try again next week sometime. I've got a bag that will stay in the car with a bathing suit, couple of old towels, comb, couple of hair bands, and a couple of tennis balls, so anytime I've got the chance I can just stop by. Have agood visit with the fam. Don't blame you for taking some time off Fb and here while you are doing that. Just let us know you got there safely!

    Image result for facebook withdrawal

Goldie--You know what's funny is the rise in year round Farmer's Markets around here! I've noticed at least a couple that have "indoor" venues and advertising year round hours. One is a greenhouse no longer being used as a greenhouse that the market meets in weekly. Another meets in a currently empty warehouse. The greenhouse apparently has electricity, I'm not sure about the warehouse site. Both are going to be pretty cold in the winter if they don't have some sort of heating arrangement set up. Out of the wind is good, but if I was going to be there for half a day I'd want some warmth! I am curious to see what they will be offering in the winter.I suspect it will be more of the soaps, lotions, craft items baked goods than veggies and fruits, but what do I know? So that moving was boring, guess I'll skip it. I enjoy a good chase scene, but need more than that in a movie to hold my attention.

Image result for farmers market clip art

Cammy--I saw Mom and Dick yesterday, and took yesterday as my rest day.Need to go fill the dumpster today, which shouldn't be hard with all the junk still in the basement and tossed down there from the bedroom. The weather is much more comfortable today for that kind of work anyway. I'm getting to see Mom and Dick at least once a week, which I was always trying to do before but just too tired to go on weekends and working too much during the week. It is so nice to be totally in control of when I work and how much I work each week. It's not unusual to feel a little down when you first get home from rehab. You've been through a lot and it's never exactly what you expect when you first get home, and it's hard to realize there is still work to do. Give yourself a break, and work on getting back into your routine gradually. Baby steps, like I'm doing with the decluttering and cleaning, those baby steps add up surprisingly quickly! And I bet the nurse and therapist love coming to see you, I know I would! You are so funny!

Hi friends- been busy getting things done around the house and the rains are here tonight, but all is well. Good to see more moisture and several round of it during the afternoon and evening hours. I notice my yard starting to perk up with the rain that has finally come and think we have some good forecasts for the week ahead.

Reba- welcome to our thread. I understand your feelings about this because the first few years after my dx, I gave up a lot myself. I never smoked, am a social drinker, etc. But I had to give up sugar six months after starting the AIs as my blood sugar spiked and hit borderline with diabetes. I felt like it was all I was doing was loosing for awhile there. It is a terrible feeling. Four years out from giving up sugar, I can tell you I really don't miss it anymore and have better health as a result. Sugar was very addictive for me.

It looks like you just joined earlier this year and not sure if you are in treatment, but if you are in doubt about whether drinking is okay now or down the road, do talk to your MO about it. I talked to two over the course of time, one told me to stick with 2-3 drinks a week max once I was done with treatment. My current MO says he does not think it makes a difference. I personally keep to the 2-3 a week average, and rarely drink unless there is a social event or business dinner where it may be more fun to join in. I try to operate with the everything in moderation.

NM- lots going on for you sister. I think your mom and Dick will need more help with time. I remember when things changed with our parent and then you had to grapple with "what do we do now." I sent you a PM on something that might help. I hope it does.

Dumpster time! You keep working on that. I took a break this weekend but getting some indoor filling and paperwork done and back to the garage the next few days to try to get through some things before I leave. I hope you had a productive day and have a good week too.

Cami- I am totally with NM on the advice of keeping up with all the stuff you need to do right now to manage the pain and get stronger. Dang though sister, that is a lot of medication. I hope you are feeling okay on all that. I take three pills a day regularly, some other stuff less frequently. We feel like a darned walking pharmacy. I was only taking albuterol for asthma before my cancer dx. Stupid cancer. I hope you feel more settled in each day.

ChiSandy, Genny, Mema, Hsant, LLL, Celia, KBm, and everyone else here, hoping your weekend was good. I will try to poop in from Cali when I can.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Monkey Day! Temp only 52 when I got up this ayem, talk about a change in the weather. Feels nice, though. Gotta make this a quick note, though, running behind schedule this morning. I did get the dumpster filled and can see where things will start slowing down a bit, got most of the just plain garbage out, starting to get into stuff that needs to be looked at and either tossed, donated, or put away. I put the first box of free stuff out by the roadside yesterday. Will be interesting to see if anything is left in it today!

Rabamacfan123--tell your brain to chill, a girl needs at least ONE vice, and red wine might not even qualify as a vice!

Jazzy--thanks for the PM, good advice and I will take it.

    Mornin'

Welcome reba nd this is a wonderful caring funny group to help u along. As Jazzy sid ask u'r MO, but almost all drink their wine and other drinks. My sister never stopped drinking her 1-2 glasses nite and she's doing well, so just ask and u might be surprised.

NM u really have turned all u'r work energy into doing well for u'rself and so proud of u. I'm sorry about Dick, this is so hard. BTW why do u really think I complain here so much, I so appreciate u'r khowledge and whatever u have to say. I've been working and trying to help myself as much s possible. And if course if u or any one can give me advice I will listen and I'm thankful for all of you. And I was told too just concentrate on what I need to do and let others help me til I'm ready, which they do. Leslie works a full day tody, so Joey cme to me last nite to tell me he won't leave me alone so I didn't worry, I told him to have someone over at least, he said don't worry about me, I love being with you. So they have things covered.

Jazzy I can't believe u'll be gone in just a few short days. I'll pray for all of u so u can all benefit from u going. I know u'r sister will, for sure.

Heidi u'd better check in, I need to talk about the housewives LOL. Hope all is going well for u.

    I'll check in later

Cami, I think the trailers for that movie were probably the best parts! "Pina Colada Mimosas, oh u can figure it out." OMG, you are hilarious! I so love that little Joey and he sure loves you. Altho, he's not so little anymore!

Kim, I'm sorry about your mom and Dick and the declining health. I'm sure most of us can relate. Since my son has moved from my moms, I can see things going downhill for sure. How far are they from you? Good idea on your part, keeping all that stuff in the car, just in case the lake is calling. I've had greenhouse tomatoes, I think they are GMO seeds, as they tasted …….well, they didn't! So any veggies brought in, I doubt would be very good. But like you, what do I know!!! Amazing how people will pick stuff up curb side, when left as free.

Hi Reba Fan and welcome to our lounge. I think if you have a glass of wine on occasion is not going to kill you. Or, you can drink here (virtually) as much as you like ;)

Jazzy, I just hate taking pills. The only one I am diligent with is my FU pills, and then my MMJ. I was taking so many supplements during my main treatment, I used to say "I'm surprised I don't rattle".

KB, sounds like you had a very nice weekend with our company. Feeling normal is good too.

Had a wonderful time yesterday. Weather was a bit cool for riding. I took a jacket just in case and so glad I did. It was probably only in the 60's up there in those mountains. Got to try out our new helmets we got. We can stream music through them and talk as we had blue tooths installed in them. And we also got helmets with face shields, which I LOVE! No wind blowing in my face and causing my eyes to water something terrible. Played with the drone I got hubby for his birthday and then grilled some burgers and dogs and had a little camp fire. Left around 7:30 am and got home about 6:30 pm. Things on the work front are starting to slow down. Wasn't a good month, too much rain everywhere!

    Cami, those looked like ‘piña-rita-mimosas.’

Jazzy, my favorite jazz singer is Esther Satterfield (whom I discovered decades ago when she sang with Chuck Mangione). Yeah, my tastes in jazz are on the lighter side.

Gordy went to Lollapalooza (aka “Lolla”) all four days. Got drenched Thurs. night (ended early bec. of tornado warnings), nearly froze Friday, and had a great time Sat. & Sun. Our block party was Sat. Made a huge Caprese (four colors of heirloom tomatoes—two of them homegrown, two kinds of homegrown basil, buffalo mozzarella, blood-orange olive oil and real balsamico tradizionale—gotta serve the good stuff to friends & neighbors). Looked at it and worried I made way too much, especially when I saw the size of the other dishes on the buffet table. Put it and a bottle of prosecco (LaMarca) on the table and walked home to get my chair. When I got back, 3/4 of it was gone! (It was the only salad on the table, and until someone brought taquitos, a quiche and samosas, the only savory dish). Then drove down to Beverly for my friends’ BBQ (brats & burgers). Brought Mumm Napa DVX Rosé sparkler. Yesterday, stayed in most of the day as it was sorta chilly.

This a.m., went to my MO, who didn’t lecture me about my weight—she says I look trimmer and “firmer” than what the scale indicates. She also says she’s not worried about my anemia, since I’m now on iron (says I should switch from Vit. C tabs to chewables to get it into my stomach quicker to help absorb the iron). She suspects the iron-deficiency is probably due to an AVM somewhere in my sm. intestine, for which the treatment is…more iron. (If the colonoscopy doesn’t find anything in the bowel, there’s no point in a capsule endoscopy because the treatment for an AVM is the same as if there’s nothing there). If oral iron doesn’t work, she advocates shots or an infusion twice a year. But she says with a normal blood count and an hgb >10, no need to go poking around in my bone marrow.

Girls girls girls, hello and sorry again to be MIA. This study crap is killing mese social life and keeping me from mese girls!

Cam, another big welcome home, listen to Kim and be a good goil and listen to the doctor. Hmm, Joey has a girl, is it a boyfriend girlfriend thing or are they calling themselves just friends? Either way, glad he has a nice gal to keep you and him company. Love you lady and praying for you daily! Miss you and thinking of you as I hit the road again for Raleigh( tomorrow).

NM, hope everything is okay with Dick. Question, when you had your accident, what type of restraint did you have for Sadie? I am looking to buy one for Lucy and wonder if the less expensive ones that just have the hook up to the dog's collar and seatbelt are comfy and safe too. Speaking of Lucy, she had another seizure over the weekend, so very upsetting for her and for us. Hoping it is not because she knows I am packing to leave town.

Lori, miss you much around here when I am absent, hope all is well and that the FU pills are not too much a burden. When is next TM results?

Sandy, sorry for your issues, hope the other side scope is clear and no issues and hope they can find a logical reason for your anemia with an easy fix.

Welcome KB, as NM says, let de boyz, Pants and JOcks, serve you everything and anything you want. They make great cyber dwinkiies too, ones with purdy umbrellas too.

Jazzy, prayers for your sister's partner, hope her physical and mental health improve. Have a safe trip.

Yeah, were is our Heidi Klein? Ya know, the most famous of the Klein gals here hehe!

Ok, missing lots of goils but gotta run. Just finally finished all of my course work and hope to be taking the state test for my license to write/underwrite mortgage insurance, gotta make some dough soon or i'll be at the homeless shelter with my gang. I've been spending great time with Jennika and Logan, that baby brings me great joy. He loves coming to Nana's house and whines for days when he does not get here. He says something so cute when he is distressed,,,, he says " mommy hold you" meaning he wants his mommy to hold him but repeats as Jennika says not understanding the difference between you and me, too freaking cute. The cuteness goes on and on, he jest melts my gooey heart that kid!

To those I missed, free rounds for the rest of the week. Will check in from Raleigh, doubt I will git much sleep. Back to finishing with packing. And nab dammmmit, I lost all of my iphone notes, namely missing the list of items i bring when I pack. I did not have those saved to update in my icloud account either, dummmmmmmmb arse I am.

cheeRs ladies and lots of love from Kansas!

------ is the word ~ see below.

Bon voyage, Dara! BTW, if you update to the latest iOS, your notes will now automatically go to iCloud and show up on both your phone & ‘puter. I, too, keep a master “Pack List” and “Pre-Trip To-Do” list in Notes and tweak it from trip to trip.

10.3.2 is the latest iOS, and Sierra the latest Mac OS X. After you’ve installed it, go to the Settings on your phone and slide the little switch to “on” next to every app you want to coordinate with the cloud. By default, music, photos and documents now go to iCloud. And I think Calendar, Contacts and Notes “cross-pollinate."

My notes did not go to cloud because I turned it off. I save nothing to cloud and ipad is not synced with computer. Until I know where the cloud is and who's in charge of it, tha's how it's going to be

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! Got a little rain overnight, looks like we'll get some more during the day today. It's funny how Sadie loves to get in the water at the beach but hates to go out and piddle in the rain.Silly dog. The stuff I left on the side of the road is gone, box and all.Not surprising. That's probably going to be an easy way to get rid of a lot of stuff that is just stuff but not so bad as toneed throwing away. Will help me get rid of some of the cardboard boxes, too!

Cammy--It's so good to have you home again! Do as they say, let people help you, they want to anyway.I bet Joey is looking forward to having you to himself for a while.

KB--ah, crème brulee, my favorite dessert! Sounds like a wonderful meal.

Goldie--Mom and Dick are not far from me, about 40 miles, takes about an hour to get there from home. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that tomatoes don't have any taste lately. I've got a couple coming on my bushes, can't wait to be able to pick one and see if it tastes more like what I remember tomatoes tasting like! Sounds like you had a great outing, and I can see where helmets with face shields would be a big improvement.

Chi--I am so glad they don't have to go poking into your bone marrow, I have assisted with that procedure and it is PAINFUL, and should be done under anesthesia, IMO. I bet that salad was a big hit. When my mater are big enough I am going to buy some local buffalo mozzarella and use my lettuce and basil and make one of those for myself. Really looking forward to it! I don't have quite that fancy olive oil, but this may be a good excuse to go to the wine shop that also sells olive oils in an incredible variety and try one or two. Glad the MO saw the difference in your appearance, if you are converting fat to muscle the number on the scales may not change much but you will feel better. I know that's happening with me, the number on the scale hasn't moved, but I now need to use a belt with some of my pants. I'm not dieting, just trying to be more active. Wish I could find my Jawbone Up!

Dara--I use a combination of a halter on Sadie and clip it into a tether that clicks into the seat belt receptacle. It gives her enough room to sit, lie down, turn around, but when I stop suddenly she can't get thrown into the front seat, or thrown from the car. I read that tethering a dog by the collar can cause neck damage in an accident or sudden stop, and that a halter is recommended as safer, and more effective, especially for bigger dogs. The secondary benefit of a dog restraint is keeping them from running off in fear after an accident. Fortunately, Sadie was not with me when I was in either of the bad accidents I've had. It was hearing about dogs that ran off after an accident and how hard it is to find them again, if ever, that made me get a restraint system for Sadie. Plus, she is big enough to be a real danger as a loose object flying around in the car, and it would kill me if she got hurt that way. Good for you with keeping up with the course work. That's really important. I can imagine just how much Baby Logan is fun and adorable to be around. Enjoy this time, it goes by fast!Have a great trip, stay safe, and have fun!

I can see being wary about backing up to the cloud. Have you tried one of the other, automatic back up systems?I use Carbonite, it automatically backs up everything on my desktop and is accessible any where you have a web connection. You can determine what gets back up and what doesn't, and the cost is less than $100 per year. More ifyou back up more than one gadget. There are others like it if you look around. I like the fact that Carbonite also backs up the desktop, when I get a new computer I just get it set up, set Carbonite to download and walk away for a few hours, when I come back almost everything is just as it was. Some tweaking needed, of course, but nothing that takes long or is very nerve wracking. And it's all password protected.

Sandy, sounds like you had quite eventful weekend.

Dara, I have been here! You are the one that goes missing! I get TM's done every 6 wks. I will get them a few days before my onc appt. I'm so sorry to hear that Lucy had another seizure. What are you going to NC for? Sounds like you are getting lots of Logan time.

NM, about the tomatoes…last year we gave some to a friend who had never tasted a home grown tomato. She was shocked and couldn't believe all the flavor, compared to store bought tomatoes with hardly any taste. I'm so disgusted with my garden, I'd like to just rip it out. That DOTD, didn't you have something like that on the cruise?

Hi ladies- this will be my last message to you for a week (did I say that before, lol?) Been a girl on the go with some business things, packing things, errands, etc. but on track to be heading to CA tomorrow night. I got my nails done yesterday, and going tonight for a hair trim. Cleaning company just finished doing their thing (three of them today including a QA person so the house got a really GOOD cleaning). Pretty much packed and have a few more things to do and work things to tie up and then off to the airport tomorrow at 4 p.m. There will be a very busy golden retriever who will want all my time and attention as I arrive.

ChiSandy- good feedback from your docs on the changes you are making. All my docs have said they are less concerned about the scale than actually knowing I am moving regularly, been hearing that for years now. But given the blood sugar issues, I had to get more weight off. And as the docs say, it does not go on overnight nor will it come off over night either. Sounds like they are helping to manage the anemia without overtesting you either. You sound like you are getting excellent care girlfriend.

Someone I know posted this on FB this weekend about weight gain and the FSH hormone, and find it to be very interesting. Going to ask my endocrin. about this at my next visit with her in Sept.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/07/health/fsh-horm...

Dara- you are a busy woman but all in a good way. I hope you do well with your licensing and have a safe trip. You got this girl.

Goldie- I am with you about the pills. I am taking a couple things related to my blood sugar issues and my endocrin and I hope that by the time I am to my goal weight, and in the next six months coming off the AIs, some of the meds will fall away. My endocrin says my borderline diabetes is secondary to the AIs, but is unsure if that will change when I come off. She said some drugs will create permanent changes, others reverse when you come off and she is not sure with my case. My MO, on the other hand, thinks with the next 20 pounds, it all could reverse and could be off the metformin combo and Trulicity.

NM- I love that you have so fully embraced your new native american name I gave you, Dances with Hornets. I like creme brule too but never eat it anymore nor do I see a "sugar free" version anywhere. I went out to have some networking conversations last night with some friends/colleagues and we had beer, nachoes and one of them had cheesecake. Three of the four food groups, lol.

Cami- girlfriend, you are plugging away over there and getting settled back in and used to everything new? I think Joey may be home for a few more weeks? Teachers went in this week to do their prep activities, kiddos here go in next week. I know Joey has so much to tell you and wondering if he likes the Sharknado stuff everyone else is talking about lately?

I was thinking in the pool yesterday we lost PontiacPeg over the summer on our thread. I hope you are out there and doing okay sister. Come back in the pool with us when you are ready!

LLL, Celia, KB, Hsant, Mema, Genny and everyone else I may be forgetting, wishing you all a good day! Talk to you guys next week!

Your song for today. Glen Campell passed to the other side today. Always loved his music and know the past few years have been difficult for him. Enjoy the memories. RIP Glen
