how about drinking?

Get thee to an ER STAT, Lori! Make sure the docs take this seriously. We need you!!!
Well, Ravinia took pity on us and moved the concert from the open pavilion to the nice warm theatre. Yarrow & Stookey were fantastic, and I’ve never heard Noel in better voice (and that’s saying a lot because I’ve been going to PP&M concerts since the 60s). Peter is showing signs of Parkinson’s, but not when he sings or plays. (His notoriously sensitive hearing and pitch were driving the soundman nuts, and several times he found which of Noel’s strings needed re-tuning—without a tuner). We’re sitting on the train waiting to leave, silent because we all have laryngitis from singing along (mandatory)

Just a quick hi and a pic of my view up over the patio this ayem

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome.
ChiSandy, thanks for your thoughtful and comprehensive posts. I like your plane crash analogy. So far, that's about how I feel.
goldie, I'm sorry to read that you're still not well. I hope you feel better real soon.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Just a quick poop in, need to leave a bit early this ayem, VERY early tomorrow and Thursday ayems.Sadie is going to be put out with me. I'll have to figure out some way to make it up to her!
Goldie--I hope you've been to the ED by now. And make sure to tell them that you are on Chemo--that makes a huge difference in how your case should be handled!
Chi--sounds like it was a great concert!Glad it got moved inside.
Jazzy--WOW!!
Good morning, Happy!

Jazzy, you get some really nice close ups of the balloons.
Ok, here is just what I put on FB....Let me start by saying, after 3 liters of IV fluids, this morning I feel 98%. However, after 13 hours between dr and hospital, all the same tests again, liver enzimes still going through the roof, of course they are all thinking that the liver is loaded with cancer, so CT scan of chest and abdomen. WELL, they see not a thing anywhwere, everything is clear! They can't see a damn thing. So now they are going to check for hepatitis.

goldie - great news that 'nothing' is there, but omg now what?! Sometimes the unknown is so much more distressing, I am hoping they figure this out sooner that later!
NM - it will be interesting to see how Sadie gets you back for all the weird hours Looking forward t a giggle!
Jazzy -- what a gorgeous sight to wake up to!
chi - I am glad you got moved indoors - we have such inexplicable weather here, that I really avoid outdoor concerts, we can go from hot and sunny to snow in just a couple of hours, totally ridiculous!
JCS - your dad sounds like mine! Positive, despite ongoing health issues, now taking care of my 887 year old mom who has moderate dementia, which is making dad 'crazy' sometimes, and has never, ever met a stranger! He turns 88 in September!
happy - is peridot for August birthday?
Well I am off to begin another busy day filled with ?? I don't seem to get much done, yet always feel busty and pooped by days end I do have a doctor appointment for refills, and a friend coming over to try a new wine I found on the weekend, hopefully the sun cooperates and stays shining!! Cheers!

I'm just pooping in cuz I saw a notice on my screen about Lori. OK now I'm so glad u got help for ur dehydration I know that helps a little on how u feel and super happy that no can cer showed up, but now I'm really confused. So something is going on with ur liver now??? And obviously a fever not going away is some kind of infection going on. I'm sorry I haven't read anything else, but right now I'm worried about Lori, BUT Loi not so worried tat u won't start feeling better soon and they'll for sure figure this out.
I'll be back

Goldie, while I wish you had an answer to what ails you, I’m so glad it’s not liver tumors.
Happy birthday happyperidot 🎉🎂

Kelley, happy birthday, you young li'l whippersnapper!
Lori, glad they were able to rule out the worst stuff--if it's hep (any variety), there are antivirals they can give you. Meanwhile, keep drinking...fluids.
First week on my low-carb diet I'm down 3 lbs. I did the math and decided my main goal is to get out of the plus size dept., but to get my BMI down from "moderately obese" to "overweight." (The last time my BMI was below 30 I fit into size 12-14, even 10 in some clothes. I'd be deliriously happy with that). The achy-dizzies, I realize, were probably from carb withdrawal. This is the lowest-carb plan I've been on since Atkins "induction" phase, which is flat-out keto.
Have a critical decision to make, though. Thurs. night is Cellars' Trentino/Alto Adige wine dinner. If I have seltzer as my aperitif and keep my dry wines to an ounce or so per course, I'll be fine. But there are some starches on the menu like polenta and white-flour pasta that are mega-no-nos (not even permissible as "carb treats"); and as to dessert (and a late harvest wine), uh, don't go there. I RSVP'ed yes before I realized that this diet would be so rigorous. But I haven't been there in a while (haven't been up to walking--Bob has gone in my stead, bringing me back food) and I want to remain a loyal customer. Do I cancel? How much damage would I be doing--one meal (most of it packed to go) wouldn't set me back a whole week, would it?

Almost mornin' ladies.
I'm thinking about u Lori hoping that temp. gets under control cuz that's the best sign. Do u still feel dehydrated or u feel better with that. I love when they tell me I'm dehydrated just by looking at me, I usually tell them that's just crepey ugly skin, but they always know and u can't afford to loose 8 lbs so u'd better nache on whatever tastes good.
Jazzy I can't get over how close those balloons are to ur home. U know they could spit on u if they wanted.
Janky drink wherever ur comfortable , that's always fun.
Happy u've got to be flying high with ur son coming back from Peru, ee that;s so far away. My sister's grandson came home just for a week then he goes to Irag <he's a Navy Seal> but that all he says about it. He's nuts as is his brother <same thing> Well it's their choice, they're in their mid 20's and that's what they want. Well u have lots going on in August,
Sandy u sound like u had a great time and got inside too. U've lost u voice before Missy, since u sing u've got to tale care of it. Did u ever put a tape on here so we can hear u??? I can't remember. U must have something so that we can hear u sing. That would be nice for us.
Dan was here last nite and I had to confess that the work I was putting thru started with Joey putting it thru, thank goodness he just laughed at me, but I did put 2 jobs together on my own.
QUESTION....Leslie started with Tamoxifen and she's really having a super hard time taking it. What else can she take. She's 48 and still has ovaries nd stuff but isn't there anything else, I don't member.
Kim Sadie must really miss u when ur not around, but isn't it nice going home to her. Janky I'm waiting to hear too what she does. LOL
OK trying to go to sleep now, my days and nites are still screwed up and right now I think every day is friday cjuz the next day Joey is home.

Cami, I also take tamoxifen and the first few months can be hard but it does get better. Another option is a lupron shot (shut ovaries down) with an AI like arimidex or similar. The joint pain and stiffness are issues with either one but I think Effexor is given to those with bad hot flashes, if that’s the trouble she’s having.
FYI, New England trip begins today! 😁 ✈️

Janky, oh my! I'm cracking up at your mom being 887 and your 87 yo dad taking care of her! I hope you and your friend got to enjoy the merlot outside.
Cami my love, I'm doing just fine. The IV's have helped the most and if I feel I need more, I will go back to the doctor and get some. I'm sure the 8 lbs will find it's way back. I was getting close to 150, which I like, not the 160 I was at. What kind of problems is she having? SE's? I took Arimidex, I was achy, but not bad enough to quit. Did that for 5 years.
Sandy, will they let you swap out the starches for some greens or fruit? If not, then maybe just a few bites and take the rest home……for BOB!
I got pictures from my step daughter of grandson. He has a horrible case of acne and I asked if he was doing anything for it, she said no, she can't even get him to clean his ears. I said, well that one's easy, no video games until you clean the ears. She replied back, we're working on it thank you. I also said I hope they don't bully him at school, she says, he's a pretty big kid I don't think they will bother him and we're hoping it will be gone when school starts. He's tall and very skinny with Aspergars, and it won't be gone by the time school starts. But I think I pissed her off, she didn't even call her dad for Father's Day, just sent a text.
Might call my neighbor today or tomorrow and see if she wants to come by for a bit with the 3 grandchildren (all girls), which I adopted as mine, so I get to be Nana Lori

Rainy morning here today. No real plans to do anything! I finished the Netflix series about the Central Park 5. Very moving and upsetting, but I highly recommend watching it. My son and his wife came for dinner last night and told many stories about their trip. Things were great until the last day when they “hurried” up and down mountains to get to the airport in Lima. DIL’s asthma started acting up. Their flight was delayed and they were four hours late getting home. Other than that it was a great trip with lots to see.
Went to see my surgeon yesterday. He is the head of the tumor board and agrees that I could get a lumpectomy. I scheduled another breast MRI (ugh!) for Friday. We will probably do the surgery in July. The surgeon said there is no data to prove this action will change the outcome of my disease. That being said there is no data to prove it doesn’t change the outcome or helps lengthen the OS. I just want to do something!
Everyone have a great Hump Day! Pats to Sadie. Lori - drink the water and rest while waiting for test results. Good travels to those visiting other places. Enjoy your adult beverage sensibly. Or NOT as suits your fancy. 🥳 And keep those cat pics coming!!!!

Glad you're feeling better, Lori! Although I have lost 3lbs. the first week of this nearly-keto diet, I hereby volunteer my services as a fat donor!
Cami, I've got some stuff on CDBaby.com, Souncloud, Broadjam, and my own site (sandyandina.com) that's streamable. Got a few up on YouTube under the account "folkiefoodie" and my singing partner's account "Old Yodeler." (The iTunes Store in Apple Music is still selling downloads, I think, for a few months, and Amazon & Rhapsody still sell them--if you feel like buying any tracks). On CDBaby, Soundcloud, & Broadjam, look for Andina & Rich, Sandy Andina, and (my previous duo) SASS! (Not shouting, that's how we spellled it--caps, exclamation point & all). I might be on Spotify (I didn't apply, but a fan might have posted one or two cuts there; didn't apply for Pandora). Might try to figure out how to post a link or two for listening.
Oh and I didn't lose my voice--just got a tad hoarse, but by the time I got home it felt like I had a good vocal warmup!
Took a look at the menu for the Tyrolean wine dinner--I can eat around or pack a lot of stuff (like the polenta, spaetzle, and the Sacher torte & whipped cream) and just have the mini-dumplings (the cheese will partly offset the flour, a la The Zone) and the broth they're in, the trout & red cabbage first course, the spinach/eggplant/mushroom/ricotta from the strudel, duck breast with mushroom ragout & rocket (arugula), and the blackberries accompanying the Sacher torte--but I bet they can just give me a dish of berries. Keeping with the theme of this thread, turns out all the wines will be dry (they're serving a sparkler for dessert). It's not the meat that would be the problem, just the sugar & starch. Not enough flour or cornstarch in the sauces to get worked up about.
Gordy & Leslie are completing their move on Mon. Carrie & I will ride (or follow) along to make sure the surplus furniture gets to where it needs to go. Wed., I will probably look around and see what more stuff they need. (He's leaving behind his tiny microwave and the cheap flatware from Target--it's more than we need. Leslie has a full-size Keurig, so I'll take back the mini for travel use. I'm giving them my old Cuisinart--with accessories. They don't want an espresso machine or grinder). Oh, and they probably don't want a wine rack...unless I outfit it .

What a lonely lounge!
Illimae, not only a pretty drink, but looks so refreshing. I think you are on your way to Maine? Where abouts are you going?
Sandy, I'll pass on the gift of fat, mine is returning home just fine!
Well, I had posted how darn good I was feeling the day after I got home from the hospital, unfortunately it goes down hill a bit each day. Hoping to get results on the hepatitis today.

Mornin' ladies,
Well I was happily reading ur post Lori, then I just saw the last one. I too hope u get ur results too, but they're good. Remember when I had a cold and ended up in the hospital <the last one I had> and took about 4 weeks til I actually was better and had all those stupid tests. All I mean is everything we seem to get lasts forever with a lot of symptoms showing all kinds of things. Maybe that's what's happening to u. Well just let us know ASAP when u find out.
Illi thanks for the heads up on the tamoxifen, she's been on it for almost a yr. now and it just keeps getting worse it's all with her bones <mostly legs> and yes she also has hot flashes. She switched her PC to mine and is so happy cuz she does listen to her and did tell her she would talk to her onc. about it too. I'll tell Leslie too, she has had so many complications with everything as u gals know and I thought maybe someone else could have an idea to at least help her on this. Oh the drink looks yummy.
OK I'm back, oh u don't know that tho silly me
Thanks Sandy for ur info. It was just that I was thinking why haven't we ever heard u sing. By that I mean if it were me u gals would be overloaded with my tone of my tunes, And with all u do it would be enjoyable to hear u.
JC I'm glad to hear ur going to get this over with soon. And by now any test is ugh <to me anyway>. Good ur son had a great tme on their trip, but there usually is a bump in most trips.
Lori sometimes a DIL can get touchy as u know, but i honestly said would anyone would. When Joey started to break out, Leslie mixed up a batch of whatever she does that she learned and it helped Joey a lot.. And it's just to bad the especially that age kids get bullied for any reason it seems. Joey and I have talked about this and he's the one that if he hears something he steps in. Sounds noble, but I don't know if I like that either, who knows who's going to go back at him. U just can't win.
OK SANDY move in date established for Gordy and Leslie, it's so exciting to hear this. Wishing them luck
I miss Jazzy and more of course.

Morning all! I had a 'horrible, terrible' day yesterday - was watching the 4 and almost 2 year old grands and sweet Haddley (2 ish) was standing on a chair and flipped over crushing her middle finger - arghh, so off to emergency where they had to freeze it then burn through so that the blood gushed out, then xray to show a fractured tip...so far she is fine now, but not sure that I am...then I go to the Cancer Center Pharm to get my overdue Ibrance and the doctor has not yet called it in, even though my message said to call if it was NOT going to be ready Well they took pity and called Doctor and after a wait they filled it for me. My neutrophils are always low, do dose just dropped to 100 and still did not reach the magical 1.0 at 1 week off. Today is gray and cloudy - just the way I am feeling (I'll get over it soon)
JCS - go with your feelings on surgery, at stage 4 the outcome probably not changing, BUT if it makes us feel better, then go for it!!
goldie - I know, just visualizing my parents gets me roling my eyes but dad does really well! And we did get outside to enjoy the merlot - today it is gray and chilly, kind of like my current mood.
chi - the Tyrolean meal sounds fabulous, we have nothing here that comes close to some of the eateries you describe, and my el cheapo DH would squawk anyway
illi - enjoy New England, my favorite summertime place in the U>S> that drink sure looks yummy!
Going to do my running around now before the energy runs out. Hello to all of you I have missed... Cheers!

Goldie – I hope you are feeling better now.You sure are suffering with…whateveryou have.I sure don't want it!
NM – I think that Sadie will be in her glory going to work with you, she will get so much attention. It's great to have you and ChiSandy on here we get such interesting medical advice.
ChiSandy – I love reading about your travels and the food (I really like food).I pulled up your web site, but I am at work so didn't listen to you singing. That was such a great picture you have on it.
JCS- Your father sounds like such a lovely person.
Jazzy – Love the picture of the balloon.I looked at some vacation tours in the western US, I always wanted to go out west. Now that my husband is gone, I thought one of the tour groups would be a great choice for me.One of the tours I read about was going to New Mexico to see the hot air balloons.
Janky – I sometimes feel like I am busy all day and at the end surprised I didn't get more done.I hope you and your friend enjoyed the new wine you found.
Cami – you stay busy all the time, it's great that you have people stopping by all the time.I hope that Leslie feels better soon. She sure has gone through a lot.
Illimae- That drink looked and sounded so refreshing!Enjoy your trip to New England,it is so pretty.
Hi Happy.
I am staying busy with work and home and doing a lot of clearing out clutter.I am thinking about taking a week off and flying to upstate NY and see family there.

It's me again, just poopin in 1st to see if Lori came back, well I didn't see anything.
Misty forget the clutter and just go to NY, the secret is wear close that kinda match the clutter and it's not so noticeable.
Jazzy is that "proof" that somehow u do have a DOTD.
JANKY OMG if that happened tooo my grandchild I would be like u hysterical, not even counting my Xanax that just slides down my throat. Then the pharm. h boy I do hate when that happens too. I think u might live closer to me than it seems, we have the same ZIGGY zip code,
Today Leslie was talking to her DH on the phone, and he was driving and started choking then she heard nothing but a huge crash. He passed out and went into a tree. Then the medic yelled in the phone what hospital they were taking him to. So her and Joey went to the ER <not knowing anything yet> well he was awake but they have no idea why he passed out, they still have more tests to take. So they're keeping him in for more tests today. He's been healing nicely from his operation 2 weeks ago, so now this and Leslie was a wreck, I was worried she'd get in an accident. <she's the kind of driver that u don't just put a seat belt on u also use a parachute, cuz u don't know how far u will land> So another day in Ziggy Land.
