Mornin ladies,
OMG Lori u and I have the same plans I want the same no one looking at me and no service except I want everyone close to go to lunch and enjoy themselves an order what I like, which is almost anything. Andd just have a good time and talk about what a colorfull person I was,. Joey told me that before that he thinks I'm colorful, I know I'm not but he can talk them into it. I saw Linda Hamilton a couple of years ago and she didn't fare well at all, but I thought maybe cuz she was always working out for that muscle look for those pictures, she stopped that type of training and it fell all over the place.
Kim I can't believe both u and Lori were both out of puterville at the same time, how odd. I wonder if those hackers were going to ask u for money til they got the winnings. That would make sense at least. Oh it's cold here too ut probably not as cold as u. Did u get your winter tires on yet. I forgot. Since u had some early hours, make sure u and Sadie sleep in.
Oh I need my hair died way to much gray, but in the meantime I use some purple stuff to streak it, then I use this fire engine red, but not realizing it was going to spray all over the place it's hysterical. Oh I guess I am colorful. And I watched a miniseries on Netflix last night all the way thru, oh why do I do that...I'm so tired now and just got a message the the guy in the office is taking a sick day today, This should be interesting or disastrous. I'll vote for the 2nd one. Bob just calle too to tell me, and I'll lean on him toay the way I do on Saturays so he was reassuring me. Believe me it has gotten so busy for me to o alone now, chit I even hel Matt thuout the day, Oh well so it's 24 hrs today and 24 hrs tomorrow. Oh the fall of a business in 48 hrs. LOL
Everyone have a great day and I'll have a colorful one.

Scams, I did get one, but not through FB. It was actually sent to my business email. The first one was just "Can I ask you a favor". My reply was ?. Of course you can ask.
Then I get this...
Glad to hear from you. I'm currently attending the Annual Higher Educational Technology Conference in Scottsdale and i want you to help me buy gift cards for my niece who is graduating from high school. Wondering if that is a possibility. Kindly let me know if you can handle this as i can only be reached through email at the moment.I'll refund back as soon as possible
Told him I thought this was a scam, and not interested. Do I have "STUPID" written on my forehead? Well, I did walk into a 2x4!

Hi friends- working from home and busy today, but just wanted to say when it comes to your end of life planning stuff, be sure that you clearly talk through how much medical intervention you want when it comes to the whole DNR thing. It can be interpreted quite differently depending on a person's view.
My SIL is still not doing well. She continues to be in rehab but has blood issues and having multiple transfusions. Her relative and myself are preparing for what we expect is coming. My sister still seems to feel she will come out of this. Hopefully things will transition easy as time progresses.
Not much for talking these days. Second eye surgery in 10 days....

I totally agree that families need to have “end of life” discussions. The book, Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, is an excellent read about palliative care and preparing for the end of life. People need to understand calling 911 will mean a DNR is going to be ignored. Make funeral plans and also explain to your family what it is that will signal you are ready to end life saving measures. Leaving people guessing can lead to unwanted measures being taken.
I talked with the PA today about the beginnings of neuropathy in my feet. She suggested I take B6 as a supplement. Does anyone have any history of doing that?
It has been a cold rain here all day. I hope to go out tonight to hear a lecture by the author of Pachinko by MinJin Lee at my public library. Great book. It will be interesting to hear how she came to write it. Then out to dinner with some youngsters that used to work for me. The weekend will be for Christmas shopping and college football. What an exciting life!

A while back, a Nigerian prince offered to lower my mortgage interest rate by 8 inches if I bought him some gift cards.😏
The boiler company didn't call me back. ABC came to inspect the water heater, make suggestions and give an estimate. Ours is 23 (!) years old and 75 gallons, far more than we need. Not worth fixing--it's leaking out the bottom, not just the overflow pipe. Considered a tankless--till I saw the price (>$6K) and that it would require ripping stuff out of walls, redoing gas lines, etc. and take >7 hrs. to install. Uh, nope. Went with a 50-gal. for just under $2K all told. The bad news was that the representative brought the new water heater but didn't install it: that takes a tech, who will be here first thing Mon. morning. He also explained they no longer even sell boilers, because they're antiquated and break down constantly. (Which explains why their two boiler techs are booked into the New Year). I told him the last thing I want to do is put in ductwork in order to get a furnace/AC; he said people these days are going with individual wall-mounted heaters (I presume electric?). Nope. We're gonna be spending enough on ceiling, staircase & window repairs plus re-painting and replacing some cat-destroyed millwork as it is. And I don't know how much longer we'll be living here. We may want to downsize in the next 5 yrs or so. But the water heater is a critical thing--it could blow or flood the basement. (And our water bill will go down with a 50-gal. model). The boiler will hold on a bit longer, albeit noisily.

Mornin ladies,
Well I hope Kim and Sadie are all tucked in and enjoying themselves.
Lori of course I LOLed when u said do I have stupid written on my head, and I thought no just a 2x4 and u said the same thing. U silly; I forgot the business got into that credit card scam for1,000.00 a while back for exchange of money. My problem was I lead him on for weeks and I guess he thought he ad me going up to 2,000.00, a little at a time. It got to the point where he yelled at me and called me stupid cuz I didn't understand exactly what he wanted me to do. Never heard from him again. He was so nice in the beginning and I guess he did get some people to go for t. There was always a big pay off for me to do a favor. So I had some fun.
Oh Sandy ur still fooling around with that. Last week we did have a big job right outside of Chigo. and neede a helicopter to get the new furnaces to a business, so I can imagine boilers are hard for some people to work on. We really only have 2 guys who can do that type of work. And I did talk to them about it andd if they weren't so busy they told me they would do that for you.Bob told, me to tell u he was sorry but he's been going til 9, 10 pm and Dan is working on a big project in Rockford for someone that's a big problem and won't finish til net week.I did get u a good deal tho, so I tried.
Bob called me last nite and told me he was bringing me a dinner tonite cu I saved a big job that they thought they lost cu the guy didn't want to wait til today. I told u gals before this job and Joey keep me thinking and even tho I really do work harder than I like has me thinking more than I would normally. So it's all good.
JC I remember never wanting to talk about my parents wishes til I had to and we did exactly what they wanted. I'm sure u gals remember my dad got cremated and put with my mom at her feet, cuz that's how he lived his life. So we did it. That was my dad who made me LOL for so many years, wow I miss him all the time.
U know I'm still confused when Thanksgiving is, I don't know why it's like that this year. Usually I'm right on it. But again I bought another 4 resents last night, it took me on and off about 2 hrs. I'm glad I got it done tho.
Jazzy u r really busy and are u sure ur all right. U just don't sound good to me.
Well I hope all is well today and it turns out good.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Lazy Saturday!Sadie and I had a lovely sleep in, and I'm just puttering around ketchuping on emails and such until time to go watch my brother in a bowling tournament, then we're going out to eat. He and I haven't had a visit in a while, and I'm really looking forward to some time together. Sadie says Hi to everyone!
Goldie--When we get radiation for breast cancer, the radiation passes through the skin to the point where it's focused, and then travels through the rest of the body on the way out. Where radiation passes it causes cell damage and DNA damage, In the cancer cells the damage is intended to kill the cancer cells. The hope for healthy cells is that the cells can repair the damage rather than die. Generally, more healthy cells are able to repair the damage than are permanently damaged or die. Because the exposure to radiation is repeated, the repair work keeps getting interrupted and doesn't go as smoothly as intended. The body keeps trying to repair the imperfect repair job and can end up making lots of scar tissue. Because the radiation damages the healthy cells DNA the daughter cells that are made are not perfect and trigger more repair work (or get destroyed if too damaged) leading to yet more scar tissue formation. In the bones, the radiation damage creates osteoporosis because damaged bone cells are destroyed faster than they can be recreated. Scar tissue from nearby radiation damaged skin can move into these microscopic openings and anchor strings of scar tissue to the bone.Normally, when one type of tissue does something like this the area can be surgically "cleaned up" by scraping the scar tissue off the bone and off the skin and removing it, then allowing normal healing to take place and repair the damages. When it's caused by radiation damage, so many cells in the area are damaged that normal healing is unlikely to happen. Add to that the damage done to the tiny blood vessels by radiation that essentially causes the tiny blood vessels to fill up with scar tissue means the entire areas does not have as good a blood supply at the microscopic level and often will not heal well because of the lack of blood, oxygen and other chemicals that come through the bloodstream. If more than a very small area is involved, there can be problems getting any bleeding to stop and skin grafting is often needed, but frequently not successful, again due to the decreased blood flow. Very, very nasty situation. That's the cause of what was happening to me after radiation, areas in that breast would die from lack of oxygen, then become infected as they decomposed, causing abscesses that would not heal until the entire area was removed, then another pocket of dead tissue would develop and the whole process would start all over again. I opted to have the entire breast removed in one procedure rather than have it picked off a piece at a time.
Cammy Cat--I don't have the studded tires on just yet, will probably take care of that chore next week sometime. Those hackers were trying to get me to either send them money so they could send my winnings (yeah, right, I'm gonna fall for THAT one) or send them my bank info (yeah, right, never HAVE fallen for THAT one, never will!) so they could raid my bank account. Of course, anyone trying to raid my bank account would be pretty disappointed! Sounds like you are pretty colorful! Sadie and I had a perfectly lovely sleep in this ayem, thank you!
Goldie--I got a scan e-mail in one of my work accounts, too, but it was sent by the work IT department!I figured it for scam when I opened it, and did not go any further, just deleted it, then right after I received the "Gotcha" email from IT explaining how I should have not even opened it! I felt a little bit like I'd been tricked, but I guess that was the point.
Jazzy--I'd add to the end of life discussion to talk with ALL the relatives, find out who disagrees, and specifically state they are not to have a say! Too many times I've seen someone with a Living Will and well documented wished have the whole thing turned into a nightmare by one or two family members who disagree and know the words to use to throw the written plans into doubt. Putting your wants in writing and GETTING THE DOCUMENT NOTARIZED is hugely helpful. Even if the form doesn't requires notarization (Living Wills in Maine do not, for instance) it can be notarized, and that carries legal weight. Sorry to hear your SIL is not making the progress desired. Is she awake and able to communicate at all? Hopefully your sister will realize what is happening soon. It does take some people longer to come to grips with the mortality of a loved one. Good luck with the second eye surgery!
Librarian--Not to contradict, but calling 911 does not completely mean DNR orders will be ignored. Ambulance staff, paramedics, etc MUST start CPR UNLESS they see a DNR order over an original doctor/provider signature. In Maine we use an orange form for the order, and it's taped to the front of the fridge or over the head of the bed if the person is bedbound. The EMS responders can follow that order on that orange sheet, or they can follow an original prescription from a prescription pad used for controlled medications with the provider's original signature that says DNR. Photocopies are not enough. In order to get around the calling 911 means you will get CPR and everything available means needing to take some action ahead of time. Still, it's much better to have Hospice or home health and have someone else to call besides 911 at the time of a home death.
Chi--8 inches off your mortgage?LOL!!!What a giveaway that was! What a surprise about how much time and money for a tankless water heater! Glad the boiler will hold on a while, even if it does make noises.
Cammy Cat--Glad you had fun scamming the scammer! Oh, my, what a way to think of summer on a cold winter day! Don't like sand in my shorts! But I do want to try the drink!

CAMI OMG, I'm cracking up at your comment "do I have stupid written on my head, and I thought no just a 2x4" Too funny, thank you! Glad to hear you had some fun with your scammer!
Jazzy, I think I have something broke too! Still praying for your sister and her partner.
NM, I'm sure you had a nice time with your brother. You don't talk much about him, guess I thought he lived in another state. Wow, what comment (or class) on the radiation! Thank you! When I had mine, it reached to my back and made it itch. I'm getting that itching again on my back behind where the rads to for the breast. And your work scam, yeah, sounds like you were bated!
Leaving tomorrow morning to go Glamping in Moab, be back Wednesday late afternoon.
Hello to everyone and CHEERS!
Here is a pic my neighbor posted of her cat....for you Cami!

Hi friends- just a short note before I head to the grocery store for some supplies for the week ahead!
One of my nearby yoga studios has a new breast cancer yoga class. I saw it in their newsletter and went yesterday, and it was really nice. It is mid afternoon on Saturday and 10 min from my house. The class can be for anyone, including people in treatment, survivors, those supporting others with cancer, etc. A young man came in and it made me wonder "does he have the male form of bc?" He doesn't, but his mother is going through treatment and he was learning about some things to help her. Boy was that a sweet thing to see. The two women who taught the class were excellent and most all the other women looked very young to me. I will go again. I love this Friday class I was doing through the hospital where I had my surgery, but find it hard to get to that class anymore.
On my way out, I stopped to pick up a script at Walgreens and the man in front of me said "I am here for my Shingrex shot." Well I perked up on that as I have been on a waiting list with these people for over a year and my PCP and I just discussed this again at my recent October physical. So I asked the gal "did I hear you have the Shingrex shot?" The pharmacist said they did and did I want one? I said I had been on the waiting list for over a year and yes, please. I went to bed early last night and woke up this morning a bit achy and my arm is a tad sore. Hoping this is the worst of it. Three shots in about five weeks now- flu, Prolia shot and now dose one of Shingrex. Yes, I feel like an 80 year old this fall with all the medical stuff.
Goldie- I love that photo. The look on the cat's face is priceless (aka, did I do good mom?) And those people wanting you to send gift cards for their relative? Big eye roll. What I say about scammers is that it must work with some people or they wouldn't try?
NM- this is exactly the situation that is going on in the family with not everyone on the same page about what is happening with my SIL. Even though I sat with my sister and partner when they did those documents, we never talked through what it meant and with her partners family. I will also say when it comes to what people are going to do when the time comes, expect anything. My SIL is continuing to have more problems and know my sister is not prepared for any of this. I encouraged my sister when she was here to think through this carefully about what Lauren wants and to go read the medical directive/DNR documents with her atty when she got back to CA (which she did, but it goes down a different path....)
Cami- sending much love on the situation for Les and her rads stuff. I have a bunch of scar tissue and fat necrosis from my surgery and internal rads. It makes seeing things hard sometimes and why I now get yearly MRIs (ugh). And with MRIs, I always seem to end up with a biopsy too (double ugh). As I discussed with the cancer gals yesterday, we are forever cancer people........
Chi- I totally got your joke. Despite tightening down on my FB and Linked In profile security, I have had those Nigerian prince types after me too.
Ten days to eye surgery number #2....

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Had a great time with my brother yesterday. He bowled well, and it's always entertaining to watch the gyrations and rituals that go on. We had a nice dinner after and a good ketchup with each other. This ayem Sadie and I had another lovely sleep in. Got to try to get some housework done today, to make up for being so lazy yesterday, though!
Goldie--WHAT does that cat have in its mouth??????? It looks HUGE! Whatever it is, I wouldn't want it in my house! Enjoy the glamping!
Chi--you did well with the joke, caught me good!
Jazzy--I'm still trying to figure out what to do about getting the Shingrex. The pharmacy has it, but has no private place to administer it and I'm not dropping my pants in the middle of a store. My PCP office doesn't stock Shingrex cuz of the price and insurance not covering enough of the price. The whole end of life care thing can be really hard. What people think about when they are reading documents and what things actually look like when the time comes can be so very different. And sometimes people think they want one thing, then when the time comes really want something different. I think everyone should watch a video of an actual situation where CPR is being done on an older, frail person, from start to finish, so they really know what they are asking for, cuz it is NOT like TV shows it. We medical people don't help very much when we don't speak clearly and bluntly about what is happening and what is expected to happen and how much help a particular treatment reallywill be. Too many times a medical person talks about a treatment being "successful" meaning that a person lives a few weeks or months longer than without it, but the patient and family hear that a treatment is "successful" and thinks they will be cured. How many times have I heard "If I knew this is what "successful" meant, I wouldn't have done this"?

Hello! It has finally stopped raining here. Will go walk my three miles this morning as I have been quite the couch potato. I did get my DIL’s presents wrapped and BD cards purchased. We will go out to dinner on Tuesday to celebrate. DH finally made his appointment with the Orthopedic doctor to get a shot to his knee. We also will go to the ENT to have another check of his vocal cord growth. He has been taking mega doses of Nexium to keep his reflux in check. The Nexium is now causing other problems. I would like to lower the dose so that nothing else goes awry. But we do not want the precancerous growth to get any larger so it is a slippery slope.
NM - I agree having Hospice in place helps with many of the decisions at end of life situations.
Goldie - Glamping sounds like my kind of camping. I do want a bathroom anywhere I go!
Jazzy - Good luck on your surgery. I still think cataract surgery was the best thing I ever did.
Sandy - Hope you get hot water soon. Our heat went out a couple of weeks ago. The technician suggested we start thinking about replacing the furnace. It’s just $$$$$.
Gotta get going on the Christmas shopping. I have been lazy and have no excuse not to get out there and “get her done!” Take care

NM- I had mine done at a Walgreens. They have a small room in the ones here and that is where they administer all kinds of shots. My doctor said they did not have them both times we talked about it and told me to get on a list. So I did and checked a few spots, but they never had them. Yesterday, I just happened to hear that man in front of me say he was called in for one and that is what triggered me to ask. The pharm said they were probably going to get around to me soon (but after 14 months, eye rolling over here). I had a skin rash this summer that made me think I might have shingles (just turned out to be some type of dermatitis that cleared up with some creme).
It does not look like there are a lot Walgreens in Maine, but maybe other national chains have it. It requires a fridge, similar to my Trulicity script. Maybe call some of them to see if they have a supply and a room to administer or other national chains in your area (Rite Aid, CVS, etc.) Also, since you are working in a nursing home, if you have a pharmacist there some of the time, maybe ask him or her where to get one in the area?
I was curious why you need to get your shot in the butt? I had mine in the upper arm, similar to what I do with other shots like flu, tentanus, etc. Do you have L in your arm? I know if you have any L in the arms, you can't have shots in them. Also, if your insurance does not cover it, you may want to ask what the cost is out of pocket to get one.
I personally found it difficult to get to this first one, making a note on my calendar for the second one from the start date (2-6 months later). Feeling a bit achy today, but pretty similar to the way I feel when I get the Prolia shot. The pharm said the Shingrex had a worse reaction than the flu shot. I felt like telling her I was a cancer survivor and used to living with SEs, but kept my cynical comments to myself.
JCS- thanks for the good wishes. I am pleased with my first eye outcomes and ready to get this next one done.

Since I already have mild breast & truncal LE and had ALND on one side, I never allow sticks in my arms. And usually not blood pressure either for that matter. A pound of prevention is my watch word. It was a hassle finding someplace that would do flu, pneumonia, shingles, etc in my rear. I got my Shingrex(s) done at one of the Kroger pharmacies. They have a sliding door to a tiny consultation cubicle - open to the pharmacy area. I just barely have to lower one side of my pants for a lower hip/upper butt shot. It's hard to believe how many places I called before finding one who would/could do this.
Jazzy - we are on a parallel pattern with eyes. My second one is coming up on 12/9.

Minus two - we will both be going in to 2020 with 20/20 😁
0 -
Yikes - where does time go?? Ha ha I got chi's humour with the prince and I get jazzy's with 20/20 - I am waiting to hear about my next cataract so that I too, can be 20/20 in 2020 I get all my 'shots' (needles) in my right arm as I am trying to avoid lymphadema - apparently it strikes at anytime - yuck! Just another 'boo hoo' with this dang breast cancer!
I have 2 friends who are not doing well, 1 that was only dx last December - so hard to deal with, - then folks tell me 'you are lucky' ( guess cause I am not in final stage yet?!) Define lucky!!
HmmI think I am venting - not something I do as a rule...
I wish all of us a wonderful, happy, cheerful week with lots of laughter and good things - Cheers!

Janky- you and Minus two and I will have a cataract party here in January. I think others will celebrate with us, yes?
I am sorry to hear about your friends not doing well. I also have a friend who is struggling through Stage IV treatment right now. I think sometimes people say the darnest things about this stuff too, not having any idea what it is like to have gone through treatment, live with SEs or live WITH cancer. I like your response there though, define lucky please! I pray your friends can push on through and get well again friend.

Absolutely - I've already started buying the libations for the party.
So far I'm concentrating on drinks for sipping after dinner (or in the middle of a gloomy afternoon, or at bedtime). I picked up Tuaca - based on a recipe from the 15th century and imported from Italy; and Amarula - made from wild grown, hand harvested Marula fruit & imported from South Africa. Yup - that one that the elephants walk miles to feast on once a year. The first is brandy based & quite strong. The second is a delicious cream liqueur

Just found out tonight that my first cousin down in FL passed away today at 88. She was diabetic witth CHF but sharp as a tack and could still sing up a storm. I hadn't seen her since 2008--I'd missed her already, but even more now. My sis tells me the funeral will be Sat. but that can't be right--Jews can't be buried on the Sabbath. The director of the Bar Show will work around my absence for the funeral, whenever it is (we have rehearsals every night this week and all day next Sat. & Sun. I'm hoping it'll be sometime this week (next Mon. we leave for London).
This morning I found out my best buddy from law school has colon cancer (fortunately, non-metastatic); he also just found his third melanoma in 15 yrs. (He is extremely fair, almost albino, never ventures out w/o a hat and uses more sunscreen than most people use toothpaste). Cancer bites.
I do still have hot water, but since the tank is leaking like a sieve (and ABC's rep. warned me a water heater can be like a bomb) I decided to be as proactive as possible. The installers will be here at 8am--so I have to get up, open the alley gate, and move Bob's car once they've hauled the current one away so they can maneuver the new one out of the garage, along the path and (hopefully) into the basement via the side door.
DOTD: Bob bought a Napa Valley zin called "Sando" (2017) made by The Prisoner. Had it with a grassfed ribeye I sous-vided and then seared. Very rich, fruity, dense but tannins softened.
Narrowly avoided my own health crisis. Fri. I had my last generic olmesartan-HCTZ pill (ARB class of BP meds). So I went online to CVS and ordered up a refill. Shocked to see the price for 90 days went up to $151. The app said it'd be ready this a.m., but Bob said missing one day won't hurt. So after rehearsal today I popped in to CVS only to find that not only wasn't it in stock, NO drugstores have it. Apparently, the generic mfr. stopped making it, and Daiichi Sankyo branded Benicar HCTZ is not only also on back order buut so expensive that my PartD plan won't cover it. Apparently, the carcinogen NDMA found in Chinese-made valsartan (brand name Diovan) is also in losartan (Cozaar) and irbesartan (Avapro); so doctors have been switching patients to olmesartan, hence the shortage. Fortunately, CVS called Bob to get him to change the script to separate olmesartan & HCTZ pills rather than the combo. The price for the same 90 days of separates? $36.50. Bob says even if all ARBs are found to contain NDMA, I'm already old enough that a hypertensive stroke from not controlling my BP would be the bigger danger and would kill me far sooner than would a cancer from NDMA exposure. If I were in my 40s, that'd be a different story.
Why is this happening--why are so many generics being made in substandard factories in India & China? Well, most generics made in the U.S. used to be made in Israel (Teva) or Puerto Rico (everyone else). Then Hurricane Maria happened--because of inadequate disaster relief aid, the drug factories couldn't be rebuilt so the parent companies moved production further abroad, to the lowest bidders. One could blame the companies' bottom-line shareholder-is-king mentality, but I blame the person who refused aid to PR. (Not gonna name names on this thread).

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey Day! The weather guesser is talking about a storm coming in today with freezing rain by the time the work day is done today. Sigh. Don't mind the snow so much, icy stuff is not so much fun at all. Yucky time of year. Sadie says HI to everyone. Quick reminder, I've got a very early start tomorrow for early ayem classes, won't be on the boards in the ayem, may not be on Wed ayem either, got an early, but not quite so early, class that day, too. On the flip side, will probably only work a half day on Friday.
Librarian--Balancing the pre-cancerousand the protective medication side effectsis a very slippery slope indeed, that can be very frustrating.Wishing your DH good luck with that!
Jazzy--I have truncal lymphedema, a gift from radiation, and bilateral mastectomies, so no shots, IV, blood pressure, etc in my arms due to high risk of developing lymphedema. Herein this part of Maine Walgreens just bought out Rite Aid and then shut down most of the existing stores. I thought about checking around but then I found out the Pharmacists and pharmacist assistants aren't required to learn the procedure for giving shots in the butt, or only done one or two a year. Not enough for me to feel secure that they will use proper site location to avoid the sciatic and other nerves in the area. Checking with the pharmacist consultant is a good idea.Out of pocket cost is about $160 for the vaccine, plus whatever the places charges for administration.
Minus--I won't allow any of that in my arms for the same reason, and for the educational aspect. I keep telling places that more and more women are surviving bc treatment and need to take precautions and the "we don't know how to do that" isn't going to cut it if they want to truly serve our health care needs.
Janky--Yup, lymphedema can rear its ugly head any time, just like recurrence or finding mets, can be decades later. Gotta love the way bc and it's treatment keep on giving and giving. The whole "you are lucky" thing just doesn't work for me. Lucky to get a cancer diagnosis? Or lucky that it was me and not you?" is what I always think when I hear that line. Said a prayer for your friend.
Minus--wow, those sound very yummy, particularly the Amarula!
Chi--so sorry to hear about your cousin passing. And your buddy. So unfair to get melanoma after all that prevention. It continues to amaze me how often two older, cheap medications are combined to make a "new" very expensive drug. I've read conflicting info about the NDMA in some drugs, some sources saying the amount is so small that it's probably naturally occurring all the way to taking one contaminated pill will cause liver cancer. Mom's blood pressure med has been recalled two or three times now for NDMA contamination.
Her doc told her the same thing Bob told you, at her age the risk of blood pressure induced stroke is bigger than liver cancer 20 or 30 years from now.

Mornin ladies.
OMG that cat had something huge in the mouth, not pretty but heshe was very proud, they always are.
Lori hope all the rime u have away will be fun for u and u feel good too.
Sandy sorry to hear about ur aunt, no matter what age it's always sad and not long enough. Wow London is coming up soon now it came so fast. That should be good for u 2.
Ladies anytime u want to vent or complain here please go ahead, I always do and it makes me feel better.
Kim ur time with ur brother sounded like fun, glad u went. It's funny but I always thought ur brother lived in another state too.
Oh Leslie got that shot in her knee last week, this time it's not working as well bt she said it's a little bit better. This knee thing started not to long ago. Yep she's lucky too, as some people say it could be worse.Of course it could be worse but we just don;t want better I think we all just didn't want it at all. This chit can go on for years one way or another. It seems like anything u catch is always worse after cancer, ur body just can't ffight things off as easily.Bones get weak and all kinds of things get weaker.
Doesn't it seem like we're hearing more people getting cancer more lately. IDK just been hearing about it more right now, disgusting.
Ahh my phone is starting, Bug time furn and water heaters happening. So I hope everyone has a good day.
LUBS U ALL

Chi- that is scary about the PR pharma factories not being rebuilt. That being said, I used to do work in PR and worked for some of those very companies that make those generics back in the 1980s. I lived in PR on at least three different occasions from weeks to months in my 20s. My AIs generics used to be a Teva brand.
NM- I figured it was it and I agree that if you can't have it in the arm, doing it in the butt needs to come from trained professionals. Maybe that pharma resource at your place or provider in your area that can help you. I am still feeling flu-ish but hoping it will ease after today. Just achy and tired, with some congestion.
Cami- that looks like me on a Monday morning
Okay folks, gotta get to the client site. Have a good week!

It is raining here again. Sigh... getting tired of wet and cold.
Cami - We are headed out this AM for my DH to get the knee shot. I really hope it works. He complains a great deal about the pain and it makes him walk oddly. I hope to talk with the doctor about physical therapy for my DH. He needs to work on his balance and not let things get any worse.
Sandy - Interesting theory about the BP drug. Would that also be the case with something like Nexium? I have started buying it through Amazon as I can rarely find it at the pharmacy or grocery store. I agree Puerto Rico should have had more attention after the hurricane. The drug companies could have rebuilt with their profits, but it would have taken too long. If it’s not one thing it’s another!

Marvelous Monday to everyone! Sunny and cold here..I am feeling better about the lucky comment yesterday, sometimes a little venting helps!
NM - I like that 'keeps on giving and giving', so true! Our weather guesser is also indicating a storm, ours will be snow - hi Sadie!
Jazzy & minus - I go Thursday for my left eye check, then last surgery (I only have 2 eyes ) So we will get that party started in the new year for sure!! Too funny, I was going to say that Cami's cat looks like me all weekend.
chi - These drug shortages are pretty scary, Canada has a shortage of Tamoxifen, and any number of other meds - what is going on???!!! And yes, so many are substandard - ugh!
Greetings to JCS, misty, mema, illi, jack and all - Cheers!
