Erika...good luck tomorrow....do check in when you can.  We are here for each other...I hope you can have a drink tonight before surgery, and If I were you I would order a Senokot Sling.  LOL!  Really it isn't funny I guess, and Kathy was absolutely right about the anesthesia and pain killers playing hell with the bowel movements.  Take care...I'll be thinking about ya...HunkyD

Dee, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As Lori said,we are here grieving with you, and holding you up. I think we should all raise a glass for a toast to the wonderful person your grannie was, and to all the love she had for you, and you for her. She will live on in your heart. No one can take away the wonderful memories you have of her.

    With a heavy heart,

I just have you to say you all are some bad a** women!!!! Girls like you make boys shake in their boots! I have reading a lot of forums over the past couple months after loosing my grandmother over a year ago and learning that my mother has become very worried that she may have to deal with same someday. So I have been reading a lot lately to learn more about the disease and finding some comfort in loosing my grandmother, I have found some great stuff out there that has helped quite a bit but never have i felt such joy in my heart knowing that there are women out there that are this BAD A**!!!! It is so cool to see that you are all so inspiring to each other! I think it awesome that nothing will tear some from their favorite drinks! One of my favorite memories is of my grandmother, my mom and I toasting to bet cancer with a glass of Jack Daniels!

You are amazing women and keep rocking!!

    You are in my prayers!

Welcome Lynn, Hope that glass (or 2...or 3) of wine helped turn your day around yesterday! This is a fun, caring, crazy, and supportive place to be....join us at the bar!

Also welcome to WaWaMarie (can we just call you Marie?), glad you found us here. Jack Daniels is good stuff...my late DH and I used to drink it almost exclusively. Come here anytime to drown your sorrows, or just get totally drunk and have Pants rescue you when you fall into the pool. We have some fun parties here, but the HTL is open 24/7, and the tattie tenders will take care of whatever your little heart desires.....within reason....LOL. Thanks for the kind words for us all here.

HD, hope your visit went well. Dee, hope you are doing okay. Junie, Lori, and all the other amazing gals, hope things are good in your corner of the world. I go to the foot dr this am, and hope to get out of this shoe!!!

Cheers to amazing dears, conquering fears, letting go of tears, and buckets of beers,

    Kathy

Great cheer Kathy! One of these days, this little measly mind of mine will come up with one! But until then, I will just have to copy! Tongue out

Welcome Marie, but I think I will call you WaWa.........if you don't mind? Go back a page and take a look at the links of The HTL, you'll get a much better visual. Well worth the look, especially at our Tattie Tenders and the Fire Crew! Right girls?

HD, yes please tell how the dr appt went.

Kathy, I hope you can get that shoe off. Had to laugh at your story about not remembering a surgery! Now that would be some real "CHEMO BRAIN"

Erika.....we are there with you today girl. Wishing you all the best.

    Dee, thinking of you!

Lynn, hope those glasses of wine helped and you are having a better day today.

Junie, KitKat, Jaybird and all my other breast friends..........Have a great day and I will see y'all at Pau Hana!

Lori, I KNOW.....that was a real puzzle...I mean I really worried about how could I possibly FORGET a surgery...till I realized the nurse had the wrong person! And I kept asking her if she really was wanting to reach ME....boy I hope she did better with her phone calls after that one! LOL. Will try to see everyone at Pau Hana time also, but spending lots of time with my mom, so it all depends where I will be.....

Oh, Lori--how cute is that baby sock monkey!!!!  I laughed out loud!

Welcome to WaWa and LynnVA...Lynn, love the pic in your avatar--it is so close to what I see each day looking out my back window or from the deck.   What's your fav wine?    There have been so many recommended here that I'll never get a chance to taste them all!

Everyone getting their Thanksgiving plans in place?   Getting mine set (subject to last-minute changes) but will involve travel......LOL--no over the river and through the woods to gramma's house for our gangs!!!   Gramma and Grampa go to THEM!!!!   Even though our plans are in the early stage, I foresee big bumps in the road--probably a couple good "stories" to share in a couple more weeks!

Hey, Jocks--thanks--been chatting and didn't see my bucket!   Heading out to the pool!!!!!!

    big hugggsssss to all!!!!!

    Cute pic Lori!

Well, I went shopping for shoes.  Bought a suit and a jacket instead (no shoes).  It's sitting in the car.  I'll bring it in after my hubby goes to work - LOL!!!  I had a blast shopping, but I need to lose like 10 lbs!  Oh well!  Maybe I should cut back on my wine consumption.

    Dee - I hope you're doing okay!

    Take care and cheers everyone!

Well, my little monkey will go on the tree, if I put one up. Otherwise, he will sit out all the time, not just at Xmas. I just couldn't pass him up though!

Junie, can't wait to hear some stories! You always seem to have some good ones!

KitKat, hiding that suit from hubby???? LOL I love shoes, but anymore, I have to stick to something flat. Just can't handle the heels like I used to! And I am with ya on the 10 lbs!

Jules, welcome back. Good to see you. We dont much talk about cancer here, too busy drinking! Unless someone is going through something. Like right now, we have.....I think 3....going through reconstruction surgeries. We pretty much just have fun and enjoy each others company! Right girls? I am sorry they have found something "suspicious" on your MRI. Try not to worry and think the best. I know these testing times are hard on us. Please let us know.

Holidays for us are just another day. No family around to celebrate with, so we usually take off somewhere, usually Laughlin. We can get the really nice rooms/suites there pretty darn cheap  during Xmas. As for Thanksgiving.....Darrell doesn't like turkey. So I asked my neighbor (they are weekenders only) to bring me some if she has some leftover. Turkey in a restaurant just isn't the same!

    Love to y'all.......Lori

    Hi Buds~

Thought I'd pop in for a minute before my noon meeting and say "HI"!

I guess we'll have Thanksgiving at my sister's house about 30 miles from me, which suits me just fine because it means it's NOT at my house!  I used to love hosting the holiday stuff, but guess now I'm just lazy and prefer to trash someone else's house LOL.

I could use a shot before this two and half hour meeting I'm getting ready for....Pants - I'll take a shot of Patron anejo please.  And don't forget the lime!  (or I might have to spank you Laughing)

    Gotta run -

    Cheers,

    Donna

Welcome to all the newbies - especially Carol the Atheist! ;)

Can't keep up with you gals, too busy being busy and no time for the computer, barely enough time to drink, but drink over computer any day!

Hunky, I had ro laugh at the pic - it looks a lot like my eccentric great aunt! (really!)

Great pic Lori - but where is the wedding ring? Huh???  ;)

The baby girl is getting so big and so precocious! I must post some pics! I am her "best friend." Ha! Like for how long? I should record it for when she's a pre-teen/teenager/adult!

And the frickin' remodel! Problems with the bathroom tiling - they didn't like that I said it looked unprofessional! The grout lines were so bad it looked like I did it! So, it's dragging on but they say they'll be done this weekend. Then I can paint - once I choose some colors! Ugh!

In the mean time I'm still raking leaves and shopping for door hardware and carpeting. I so wish I had more money than time but sometimes it seems I don't even have available time. I'll be rich (or a handyman/handywoman) in my next life!

Next trip Moscow, then Manchester. Have a 'date' in Manchester! (big smile)

I WILL post pics - someday!

    Cheers!

A big shout out to my girl Donna! You are coming back a little more often....I love it! Its good to see you.

Jaybird, I only wear my rings when we go out. Don't ask me why, I just do. I think its because I don't sleep with them on, and just dont bother to put them on after showering. I wear 6 rings. And we are anxiously awaiting pictures! A date? How exciting, have a blast!

Kathy, did you get your boot off? HD, how did things go at the dentist? I hope you used your straw and didn't get caught drooling.

Boy Thunderous Thursday must have been a good one. I just went inside the lounge and now I see why no one has posted. Y'all are laying all over the place!

Hoping KitKat is doing good and Dee...thinking of you and hope you stop in soon.

    Bottoms Up, Lori

Trying really hard to get up off this cold floor....Lori, lend a hand and help me up, please! Pants and Jocks are too busy tending after everyone else.YEAH, it sure WAS a Thunderous Thursday party last night. Had so much fun, I can't even remember anything....LOL.

Yes, the surgical shoe came off,but it hasn't completely healed, so besides changing the dressing, I am trying to wear something protective so my poor toe won't go bump in the night (or day...I am notorious for running into things with my poor toes!).

Dee, I hope you are doing okay, and that it will be a pretty day tomorrow for the services.....is it still going to be tomorrow? We will all be there....surrounding you with love.

HD, Hope your dental appt went ok! And your onc appt. Let us know how you are doing! My "manual" or "hands on" mammogram went well....I see my BS every 6 mo for that. I asked for how long, and he said till he retires...so of course I said for him not to retire if that darn health plan goes through, and he said he wouldn't, but he thinks it will force a lot of doctors into retirement. I thought that was sad...all these doctors who went to all those yrs of schooling for a career they wanted, then all the rules get changed....oh well, off my soapbox now. (Getting down....). CRASH! Oops....there went my toe (J/K).

Hanging around the mimosa fountain...come join me! I love Friday the Thirteenth...I was born on the 13th, so consider it a lucky day.

    Happy Friday the 13th everyone....ChEARS!

    Mimosa fountain? I'm in!!!

Am recovering from food poisioning Tuesday night. A dinner date with an old beau (now just a friend much to his dismay) turned ucky when I threw up in his car! Luckily he had a bag for me..... It wasn't the wine as that was from France. Never going back to that restaurant! Will get my drinking legs back soon.

My plans for this Friday the 13th is to stain some doors. How come I signed a contract that stated I had to stain them myself??? Oh well, it's a nice enough day here so why not? I figure I can't do any worse than the worker who laid the tile wrong!!! I think I need to break open some JW Blue to celebrate when it's ALL done!

Lori, I hear you on the ring thing - I never wore my wedding ring at night, no jewelry at night. But if I had a BIG rock I think I'd never take it off!!  :)

Gotta go, bottom's up for the weekend!

Hi jaybird....sorry to hear about the illness...I had something bad on Tues I think cause yesterday afternoon I had the worst stomach pains....prob my fault though as I brought home half my lunch from the Thai restaurant....and ate it for dinner after it sat in the car all afternoon...YIKES! Hope you'll feel better soon!  Good for you, on planning to stain the doors. I love doing things like that when I have the time....and you will do a MUCH BETTER job than anyone you could hire! And you will have a sense of pride everytime you see it. Good plan to have the JW Blue AFTER you stain the doors......don't want any faux paus! Good luck to you.....
