junie, Hi! Have a safe trip, and a great Thanksgiving! Been super busy here too, so just a quick hello.

Hope all my "breast friends" here will all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure have a lot to be thankful for, IMHO. I feel grateful to be here...mentioned that at the table last Thanksgiving, and there wasn't a dry eye....didn't realize how EMOTIONAL just saying that would be. Didn't mean to make everyone cry!!! But really gals, I am very thankful for all of you, and this wonderful thread where we can just goof off, have fun, and be there for each other. I'll pop in again, but still trying to get ready for all our company on Wed, and being with my mom a lot too.

    Gobble gobble,

    Kathy

Our poor sweet Dee. I thought you were gonna have them take some out??? How long before it settles down? At least it is the last one! Take care and have percotini.

Junie, have a blast girl. And be safe.

Kathy, you too. I hope you got all your cleaning done for company. I think mom is leaving tomorrow? Tell her we all said hi and for her too to have safe travels.

Hey Donna...........6 degrees here this morning!

HD...did you and DH get all the painting done?

Well my DH (I can say that now) changed his mind for dinner Thursday. Now instead of ribs, he wants meatloaf! I only wish I had a AWESOME recipe for it. I have looked online and tried several, but it just never comes out "awesome" just like so so meatloaf. Any of you wonderful ladies have that "awesome" meatloaf recipe?

    Huggles and Gobbles, Lori

Hi Ladies - popping in for something with vodka in it...Thank you all for your experiences with te's, it's a little better every day, but only incrementally.

Dee - so sorry to hear you're in pain, but sure hope it subsides soon.,. Will be counting down the days with you!

HD- have you thrown off the gun belts?  You must have, to be pictured in those chaps...

Lori - wish I could help with an awesome meat loaf recipe, but all I have are "standard" ones that never seem to me to turn out quite right. Hope you find something for your DH!!

Hey, where are all the newbies? Hope they've not spirited away with Jocks and Pants - hope you ladies can come in & stay for a while. Love those kahlua recipes, they sound so great (except that, sadly, I don't have the patience to wait to drink). Maybe I'll get Jocks to make some for me?

To each of you wonderful ladies here:  Thank you for your stories, your humor, your experience, and your strength. I am grateful to have you "bosom buddies", and will include a toast to your health at our Thanksgiving table.  All the best to you and yours - Erika

Erika--the ready immediately version is ready to drink as soon as it's mixed up--the whole process takes less than an hour:  3 minutes to measure out everything, 10 minutes for the first boil, 15 minutes cooling time in the fridge (5 in the freezer), second 10 minute boil, another 15 in the fridge or 5 in the freezer, it's ready to drink!  I used to make 2 batches-one to drink now and one to put up for 6 months.  Wish I'd thought about making Kahlua last summer, could have given it as Christmas gifts this year.  Oh, well.

Whoever it was that mentioned Tootsie Roll drinks--I tried one the other day and it was YUMMY!  Who'd a thunk OJ and Kahlua would taste like chocolate?  Where's the bartender?  Maybe I can get another one?  I don't have to get up at 4;30 tomorrow am and go to work so I can have a couple of drinks this evening.

    Happy Turkey Day to everyone!

NativeMainer, Glad you liked the Tootsie Roll drink! My SIL from Alaska introduced me to that drink many, many northern lights ago. I love it, but don't think about making it very often.

Nice Thanksgiving wishes from everyone! Sending the same out to all of you....Happy Happy Turkey (or whatever food you prepare) Day! Lori, I do like my meat loaf, but didn't have time to look for the recipe. I esp like the tangy topping...I think that part is ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar (I THINK...not exactly sure though till I find the recipe). If you find a recipe you like, you can substitute oats for all or part of the breadcrumbs, and add mushrooms, etc.

Getting up at 4 am for my mom's early flight...then I will be sad.... :(  . But still getting ready for company, so will be busy all day tomorrow. Lori, I told my mom you all said hi and to have safe travels....she thought that was real sweet of you!

Cheers to Turkey Necks ONLY on Turkeys!

    Thanksgiving Friends

    Thanksgiving is a time

    For reviewing what we treasure,

    The people we hold dear,

Who give us so much pleasure.

    Without you as my friend,

    Life would be a bore;

    Having you in my life

    Is what I’m thankful for.

    Love to all!

    Mornin gals.

Let me start by tying a drool bucket around Dee's neck! Or we could just give her Pants, he can follow her around and wiping off her chin as needed. Kidding aside....feel better my friend.

Kathy, I have used oats in ML before, saltines and bread crumbs. A man that lived with my mom, used to make the BEST ML, and he cooked it on the grill. But I remember he put bacon in it, cheese, vernors, shrooms and onions of course, and I don't remember what else. But let me tell ya, it was good! Guess I'll just start throwing stuff in the bowl! Trust me, he'll eat it!    Ooooh, I think I see mom up there, flying by!

Native, I have to correct you. A couple posts up, you ask "where's the bartender?" My sweet dear, we do not have bar tenders here. We do however have "TattieTenders". Haven't you had the pleasure of meeting them yet?

E, glad to see you are at least feeling well enough to stop by. How about a Duck Fart, with some vodka in it. I like those........YUMMY!

HD, that ML there actually looks pretty good!

Junie, I hope you were feeling better before your travels.

Sorry I missed everyone last nite. We ran into town, and I was so tired from the night before, that I was in bed by 6!

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL of you.

    Happy Turkey Day to all!!!

Am back from Rome. Had a good time. The Scotsman isn't all that but sometimes something is better than nothing! I'll see him again if it's convenient but will alao see others that are in my 'stable'!!!

Drank some Limoncello creme last night as I wasn't in the mood for scotch. Brought back some sort of coffee creme and can't wait to drink it, may not even share it! Have some port sitting around and may take that to my dad's. It's sort of become a 'tradition' to drink it as a step-cousin usually brings some. I like port but prefer it shared after a good meal as opposed to drinking it alone so it my basemet it's been sitting and waiting.

Cheers to all for a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Popping in for a quick "Happy Thanksgiving" to all my drinkin' buds!

Everyone who is traveling - be safe and don't drink and drive, or you might spill your drink lol.

    Cheers,

Oops., my mistake!  If I apologize very nicely to the Tattie Tenders can I get another Tootsie Roll? Please?  Or maybe I want to try a Duck Fart--wonder what's in one of those?

Everyone who is traveling, please remember to tip the designated driver after you get home safe and sound.  Everyone have a good holiday!

NativeMainer, No need to apologize...lol. The Tattie Tenders are there for our every beck and call....no strings attached. So go ahead and have them bring you a Tootsie Roll drink, or a Duck Fart, or whatever you desire! And we don't even pay for any drinks....we have created a real utopia here...so enjoy! I like your idea of everyone tipping the designated driver....now how about going one further, and having everyone tip the person who is making the Thanksgiving day feast.... (like me, for one!)...j/k! But it sure is a darn lot of work. Thinking about having an early Pau Hana, and then resuming all the housecleaning, etc. I need a BREAK!!! Pants, Jocks.....PLEASE bring me my usual.......

Hope all my drinking buds are having a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve, and looking forward to a nice celebration with friends and family tomorrow!

    Kathy

happy Gobble Day Eve--sneaking a quick peek on alien 'puter.  Oh, Lori--I have the best, simplest meatloaf recipe--but, the "formula" is in my kitchen many, many miles away.   Wish I could remember the mix--it is one of those strange ones you shake your head over, but it it is fantastic!     Will post it when I get back home and maybe you can try it another time and check it out.

Having a good visit so far, but really wishing to just be home!     All, have a super day tomorrow....yes, much to be thankful for, indeed!    Heartfelt thanks to you all for the fun we share!!!

Someone's feeling good this morning! Glad to see our Dee back.......or we're into the "skittles".

Native, a duck fart is Baileys and Crown Royal. I had ordered one at a casino and the bar tender also put some vodka in it! And I hope you're not driving!!! In the meantime, check out the photo below, if you haven't already. You can see our Tattie Tenders and some more of The HTL.

Happy Gobble Day to all my Breast Friends! I love you all!

Lori, here's my meatloaf recipe: (if I'm too later for today then perhaps for another time?)

    2 lbs. ground beef

    1 Cup bread crumbs

    1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup ketchup (or Open Pit works too)

    1/2 tsp. thyme

    1 clove garlic chopped/minced

(add some chopped onion if you like, but I don't like onions)

    2 eggs

Mix it all up, bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and then at 350 degrees for another 45 minutes. You'll need to add some water to the pan while baking to prevent burning and sticking even in a non-stick pan. I swear by this recipe and you can add different spices if you wish. The Open Pit will add more flavor I think than the regular ketchup.

I think I may make a meatloaf this weekend!

Here's a recipe for a sweet drink. I had it many, many years ago and it was yummy.

    Yellow Bird:

    1 oz. Galliano

    1 1/2 oz. light rum

    1/4 oz. creme de banana

    2 oz. pineapple juice

    2 oz. orange juice

    mix and serve over ice.

Happy Thanksgiving! We're hitting one side of the family and then the other side. I hope to do some Black Friday shopping tomorrow so probably won't drink (very much!). Safe travels to all!

    I'm here!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a 'discussion' with my contractor on how I wasn't happy with damage to and subsequent repair of my brand new never used $600+ bathtub! He seems to think I should be happy that he's not charging me for the repair. Huh??? His worker is the one who damaged it. Any advice on what I should do? It can't be replaced now, all I can do is hold out some final payment $. I'm going onto Angie's List and definitely mentioning this guy's shoddy work when he's all done.

I need a drink! Good thing I bough wine AND scotch today! It's not quite 5 p.m., too early to open a bottle of wine? I don't think so?

    Cheers!
