Jaybird--wine is allowable at ANY time, as far as I'm concerned.  It's hard to match wines to breakfast, but it can be done if you stretch the "rules" a bit!  Of course, I just drink whatever wine I like no matter what I'm eating!

Back home and glad to be here--looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight!   Jaybird--no words of advice; can only say sorry that the renovation didn't go smoothly.   Might also consider contacting the Better Business Bureau if you don't get things resolved to your satisfaction.   I'll join you and have a glass of wine--go ahead and open it.   Or, if you'd rather do scotch--your choice!!

Having Jocks fill up my bucket.   Lori, while I'm waiting for the ice to chill it down, here's that meatloaf recipe:   1 lb ground beef (I do the extra lean); one pkg stove top dressing mix (6 oz);  1 tsp garlic powder; 1 cup water (or beef broth for more flavor).    Can mix some bbq suace into it, but I usually top it with ketchup last 20 minutes or so.   Can  cook in muffin tins for indiv servings at 375 for 30 min--maybe go 45 minutes if in a loaf pan.    Soooo easy--really good.   Most things here at the B&B are pretty good, but all are very simple and easy!

All right!  My bucket is chilled down--heading out to to the pool--taking a quick stop at our casino first.   Trying to figure out how to finagle a little day trip over to our nearest indian casino--for some reason have an antsy ka-ching going on.  Can't manage a Vegas trip to meet up with Wahine just now--hoping to scratch the itch closer to home!!!

    huggggsssss to all!!!

Jaybird...my thoughts are with you..sounds like you almost have a Judge Judy type action claim against this shoddy contractor...I am not a lawyer by any means but I know threats (ie. letter) from an attorney would probably give the contracter the push he needs to make things right.  I don't know...but I do wish you a powerful ending in this nightmare.  I also wish you the peaceful enjoying of partaking in an excellent swill of your choice....XXOO  HunkyD

    Good morning to all !

I was driving over to some friends house last night, the city is tearing the road up in that area to make it wider. They have dug out the roadway on each side to about 10 ft. deep.  The only barrier between the 10 ft. drop are yellow tape tied to orange cones. I am behind this guy in a huge ford LTD boat/car and all of a sudden he tries to make a turn into the gas station, however there is no road there so he just like disapears...OMG! I had to stop and get out of my car and run over to the edge of the road..I swear it looked like he was buried in his car. I asked if he was okay and he slurred that he was okay and cussing up a storm so I knew he was alright.. His drunk girlfriend is now crawling out the window saying that she has to get out of there cause she don't want to go to jail...lol  I called 911 and had to move because I was blocking the road and the crowd was getting rowdy. Ahhh, Friday nights in the southend of Columbus are soo fun. I wonder how they got his car outta there? Oh well.  Jaybird I agree with Hunky, I would have to threaten him with legal action until he fixed/replaced tub to your satisfaction. What's everyone up to for the weekend? I'm supposed to meet up with another friend tonight, maybe dinner and go out drinking to some hole n the wall, we will see. Have a great day!

Hi girls, thanks for the recipes. Jaybird, I did mine pretty darn close to what you mentioned. It turned out ok.

I'm with Junie on contacting the BBB. Also, did you use licensed contractors? If so, then you can call registrar of contractors. But I would not be paying the remainder of that bill. How bad is it? It can be fixed, might have to rip everything back out tho! So a matter of, is it worth it or not? And then of course, there is always a law suit. Don't pay and let them come after you. Judge Judy or Judge Marilynn would be hoot! Too bad we all couldn't just come over there and have us a little "bitch slappin" party!

Junie, glad you are home.....but sorry to hear about the itches! Hope you can get that taken care of! Nuttin a "bucket O lite" can't fix.

Kathy, you are enjoying more family, I KNOW!

HD, is that new puter on its way yet?

Dee, I hope you are feeling better and rid of that nasty cold you had.

To Slappin Bitches and those with itches!

Good morning drinking buds! Sorry I was MIA for awhile....all our guests just left a few minutes ago, and the house is now QUIET!!!! Was a nice Thanksgiving....good food, family, lots to be thankful for....and I didn't mention how glad i was to be here...so didn't cause any tears...LOL. BUT of course the kids did some damage, as usual. So strange, cause my kids really didn't ruin things during their growing up years, but gkids are sooooo destructive! Nice having everyone here, but will be nice to get the house back to normal too!

So I think a nice, large, strong, bloody mary is in order. And maybe I'll hang around the mimosa fountain too! Read all the nice posts, but too hard to remember what to comment on, so I'll just raise my glass to all of you here.....I treasure you all, and love hanging out at the HTL. Maybe I'll jump in the pool soon....anyone want to join me? {SPLASH}...Thankfully the water is always nice and warm in our pool.....

    Hana Hou,

    Kathy

OMG...just realized there was a whole page I hadn't seen! Jaybird, I am sooooo sorry for what happened...he must be related to that "contractor from h*ll that we had....we were just glad to be rid of him, and had to pay an atty just to fire him...we were stuck w all the repairs, but he was SCARY and threatening US! Seems like it is so hard to find a good contractor...agree with the others though and would contact either an atty to write a letter, and then BBB if nothing is done. Some BBB's have arbitrators too, so you might call them. Dee, what a horrible accident...glad they were okay, and that your car didn't end up in the ditch too!!!! Lori, glad your meatloaf turned out good! Hope everyone has a better Saturday!

OK BOYS AND GIRLS....HOLIDAY IS OVER! TIME TO GET THIS LOUNGE ROLLIN AGAIN. SETTING UP BUCKETS O BEER AROUND THE POOL, FILLING UP THE MIMOSA FOUNTAIN, PUTTING SANTA OUTFITS ON OUR TATTIE TENDERS.

    LETS PAR-TAY!

Dee, you and I must have posted at the same time. I missed the accident story. I don't mean to laugh at someones misfortune and I am glad no one was hurt. But that had to look funny as hell!

Hi!  Wow Lori, thanks for the TT's new outfits - my, my, my, that will certainly jingle some bells!

Hope everyone is well & well-fed after Thanksgiving. My hubby fried a turkey and my mother and another friend supplied us with sides, so I didn't have to do *anything*.  It was certainly a relief, but I really do miss cooking like I've done every year. Had one glass of wine which almost immediately demanded that I take a 2-hour nap!  So life is good, but slow, here. And something I found almost hysterically funny - PS sent me a temporary registration card for the TE's - hey big boy, wanna see my ID?

I'm about ready to get floating again on my pool raft - perhaps a bloody mary or a mimosa is in order. Are there any plans for a holiday party here?

Here's to 10-foot drops, Duck Farting Scotsmen and Miller Lites;  here's to my TEs (the left's worse off than the right);  here's to Christmas britches that might sit on my lap, and to idiot contractors who deserve a flying b**** slap!

I also will have a glass out of the fountain.  I am a lazybones again this morning.  Still laying in bed reading paper.  That picture is mighty small on my netbook, but my brain can resize it.  It is a chilly 30 degrees here this moring.  Frost everywhere.  Dee, I also liked the car in the trench story.  Guess Tiger Woods had a little fender bender at his house too Friday night.  Loved the headlines.....Tiger wants mullligan on last drive.  I don't think he was going to play golf at 2:30 in the morning but one never knows.  Here's to warm beds and fuzzy heads!  HunkyD

Oh, my, I can't decide what I want more--a mimosa or the Tattie Tender who serves it up!  And I want to float in the pool, too!  Can I have a Tattie Tender push me around in the pool while I lie on the float, filling up my mimosa glass every time I go past the fountain?

I've got to wonder about Tiger's little accident the other night.  Why did his wife have to break out a window to get him out if it was such a slow speed "little" accident?  I wonder if he got his head injury before or after gettng in the car. . . I sense a little soap opera developing here, just enough to give us some poolside talk when we get tired of talking to or about the Tattie Tenders. . .

Native, I also was a little curious about Tiger's facial cuts.  I do know nicely done acrylic nails can be like knives to someones facial skin.  New soap opera blooming for sure.  Will be interesting to see what he says at press conference today.  Now, pants...I'll have another mimosa also....HunkyD

Life as I personally see it: IT IS SHORT (even if we end  up making it to 100 years of age, it is still a very short period of time). My idea of a pleasant evening out with friends is with 1 or 2 glasses of a good wine (and that's once in a while). Life IS short.

Here's my take on Tiger's fender bender.  Wife went after him with one of his golf clubs when she heard about his recent affair in Australia.    She wasn't using that club to rescue him--she was trying to kill him!   Yep! Lots to talk about around the pool.   Doubt we ever know what truly happened!   Happy Sunday all!   Lazy day here; spitting rain--what else is new!

Be back later for my bucket o'beer.   Lori--great outfits for our guys!!!

Ohhhhh noooooooo....junie if you're having rain does that mean it will come to my house next....AGAIN????? Nice day outside....doing yard work but discovered 2 HUGE holes the squirrels have eaten through the eaves and the siding. Will have to jerry-rig it to cover it up till we can get someone to do lots of eaves repairs. I knew the squirrels had gotten into the attic again cause it sounded like people up there...they were so noisy....wonder how much damage they will do THIS year? Sometimes they gnaw on our luggage, etc., and my attic is full of Christmas stuff, toys, etc. DH has wrist surgery tomorrow, so I am so glad I found these holes (craters really) so we can fix it while BOTH of us are able to. When it rains it pours....wait, isn't that junie's mantra?

Yeah, the Tiger Woods "incident" is verrrrry interesting. And these mimosas sure are good! NativeMainer, of course the TT's can push you around in the pool and bring you mimosas, or whatever. They even do wicked foot massages (among other things....shhhhhh!)!

Well, gotta repair the critter damage.......

    Catch you all later!

Oooooh, a foot massage!  Really???  My feet have been really sore lately, been on them a lot at work, would love a good foot rub.  The German Shepherd tries, but her tongue tends to tickle!

I hear you about the squirels, only right now I've got mice.  They tend to come in this time of year, when the owls move closer to the house.  I've got to go on a mouse hole hunt soon.

Yeah, I think that Pants or Jocks would give a MUCH better foot massage than your doggies tongue....no tickling allowed!

junie, as SOON as I went back outside that darn rain came...tell me you didn't send it this way....LOL. Got one of the "craters" covered up with wood, but the siding is rotten where the other "crater" is, and couldn't nail to it, so had to pack it with steel wool....I hope those squirrels aren't smart enough to pull it out, but I do have concerns about that! Boy, we need to get that fixed! It wasn't fun out there in the rain trying to do that, though. Thank God it is warmer here than what HunkyD is having.....would be frozen by now.

Started Pau Hana early, cause have to do a Lowe's run.....maybe we can see if the Tattie Tenders are good at construction? I sure could use them around here, and I bet Jaybird could also!

Cheers to No Critters, LowCal Fritters, and Drinks with Bitters,

Native, I do good foot massages. Come on over! As long as your feet aren't super-gnarly I'll do it!

Cold and damp here, definitely drinking weather! Picked-up a decent Bordeaux for $12 from a chain liquor store. Will definitely bring back some cheaper stuff from Europe the next time I'm able to.

The contractor and I have yet to have our final conversation about the bathtub. We left it at an impasse but no way am I not getting some sort of credit. He'll do the punch list this week (while I'm gone) and will then be out of my house whether I'm satisfied or not. My dad said he could fix any little thing left over if I need him to. Now on to finally finding carpeting and then choosing paint colors! Gawd - I thought this would all be done by now!

Off to eat dinner and drink some wine. Cheers!

Oh my goodness! What a chatty bunch we have been! I love it!

Sorry for all the problems going around, but you know what....they all sound rather minor. Ya know..........just another day in life. Isn't it grand!

Welcome to Yasmine. You can have as many drinks as you want, here at the The Hot Tatties Lounge. Won't hurt ya at all.

Erika, you sound like you are just coming right along. So glad! We will give you the Tattie Tender of your choice, to push you around in the pool. Registration for TE's? That's the first I have heard of that. HD, Dee.........did you guys get registered???? ....and loved your cheer! A bit long, but says it all! So........I'll drink to that!

Jaybird, I could sure use one of those foot massages. My feet are killing me tonight (darnded Arimidex)

Some of you had rain, we woke up to snow this morning. Not much, but none the less .....SNOW. Suppose to get 1" over night, we'll see. We are leaving tomorrow for Phx, have to fly out Tues. morning to TX, doing a trade show. But this time we are distributors, not buyers. Be back on Saturday. Will check in if I can.

    Love you all.........CHEERS!

Have a nice trip Lori! Hope you do well at the show, and can have fun afterhours! Bet your snow was pretty....hard to imagine when it isn't cold enough here for that.....yet. Early night for me...gotta get up soooo early and I am definately NOT a morning person! When I was employed, most of my jobs let me set my own hours...which was great for me! No early morning appts, not for this gal. So, night night everyone.....gotta leave the HTL and get some shut-eye. You all have fun!

    Hello y'all,

Nope, I have to say having registered TE's is something I have never heard of. But as dangerous as they are maybe that should be a good practice. I run into walls, door jams and just about anything that dares get into their way. But they do bounce off things quite nicely...lol Lori, when you get to Texas, remember to take that tour through the basement of the Alamo...hehe. Kathy you need to get those critters outta there soon before they start to multiply. Hunky and Junie and Jaybird and everyone needs to come on out for some drinks tonight! We have to have a few b4 Hunky's surgery tomorrow- I will be thinking about you! Try not to worry you will be fine :)

    Cheers to all!

Lori, please keep the snow out by you! We had a decent enough Nov. and I'm hoping for a mild December. I placed some candy cane lights along the driveway but had to make sure they were far enough onto the grass so that I can clean my driveway with my snowblower when I need to and not ruin the lights. Kind of defeats the purpose of them lining the driveway?

Off to Manchester tonight so no drinking for me until Monday night. With the pound to the dollar being so awful I need to watch what I spend there so will bargain hunt for a bottle of wine or beer on sale.

Cheers to Hunky and an easy surgery!

You make sure those nurses take good care of you too. Please let us know how you are doing, as soon as you are up to getting online. And rest, take it easy, and get well quickly!!!  I will raise my glass to you tomorrow night, toasting to your successful surgery....and of course will have to drink extra, since you won't able to drink. Maybe if I drink enough, you will feel it across the country!!!

Can't wait until tomorrow nite--toasting now!!!   Have Jocks and Pants getting the Mimosa fountain and mega Bloody Mary's ready for the morning--and we'll be toasting ALL day!  hugggssss, Hunky!

Jaybird--this will chill your wine drinking soul--hubby (substitute any other appropriate word!!) handed me a glass of wine at Thksgvg dinner.   Here, try this blush wine......the idiot had poured some white wine into his red wine-----so, palmed it off on me!    It really wasn't bad, but by that time, turpentine would have tasted good!!!

Mainer--do you have a cat or can borrow one?   Absolutely best thing for the mice that creep indoors when the weather gets cold!!!

Dee--DH got registration cards for his special cataract lenses that he is supposed to carry with him in his wallet--WTF is that all about!!!

all righty--my buckets iced down--heading out to the pool to talk about.......Tiger...getting more involved and I think I was on the right track!!!!

    Hi Drinking Buds~

Sounds like everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I ate and drank too much of course, which is probably why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

A couple of friends from MO came to my house Sat to get away from their husbands and kids.  We do a "girls weekend" several times a year.  Sat night massause Marlene came over and we each got an hour massage WooHoo!!

It's finally cool here.  Have had a very mild fall so far.  I don't mind the cold so much now that I'm on one big hotflash!

Jocks  - please fetch me a coffee with "heavy cream" (Baileys) and I'll curl up next to the fire.

Hope everone stays safe and warm.

HD - sending good vibes your way and hoping surgery was uneventful.

    Cheers,

Donna, You had a "girls weekend" and didn't invite us????? I am SO jealous....sounded like a fun time, esp with the hour massage! Ok, I sure hope I make your list for the next one...j/k! Sounds like you're doing great....I see Jocks already brought you the baileys/coffee....and such a huge mug! Stay warm!

junie, OMG...can't believe your DH mixed the white and red and served you a "blush" wine!! ROFL at that one!!! Guess he didn't want it after his faux pas. If I get to visit you someday, I will keep an eye on him if he offers me any wine. And he will wonder WHY we will be laughing!!!

HunkyD....sending prayers and thoughts your way today....I think junie is catching a flight right now so she can jump in your pocket and be right there in the hospital with you. I will be there in spirit....not sure how many pockets your hospital gown will have...if any! Do take care! Gentle hugs!

I need a hot toddy (or Teddy? or Mark? or???) as it's cold here in Manchester! I'd make some tea but I'm affraid the caffeine will keep me up so I'll just drink some beer and hope the alcohol makes me forget how chilled I am. Bought some yummy Thai flavored potato chips to pair with the 1664!

Junie, I'm sure there are worse combinations than mixing red and white wines but I can't think of any! Reminds me of being a teenager when any alcohol was better than no alcohol. Glad I grew up and became more selective!

    Cheers!

Hunky, I hope you breeze through your surgery today.  I'll be thinking about you.

Jaybird, I live vicariously through your travels and trysts.  Keep 'em coming.  Sorry about your contractor.  A good smack down on Angie's list and withholding the last payment should get his attention.

I'm glad everyone had a good thanksgiving.  Our ribs and mashed potatoes were divine.  My bathroom scale is groaning.

We have our Christmas progressive dinner this weekend.  I'm rounding up all the bottles of wine I've been given but don't want.  It won't go to waste with this bunch.

    Everyone have a great week.
