Out of my head, AStorm! He's also much skinnier than either of my ex-husbands! So glad I found the right man now.

About a year ago we were going through some stuff prior to packing up  to move here and I found my wedding album from my second marriage. Don helped me find a box and some matches, we went out to the backyard and lit the pics on fire (carefully staying out of the smoke!). It was very therapeutic, especially since he helped me with it.

I want to find a place to donate my "silicone Sally" and other accoutrements to, anyone have any ideas? I want to get them out of here and don't think the local Goodwill would know what to do with them.

My incisions are getting so itchy - which is a good thing, I know, but oh man is it driving me nuts! Of course, if I forget and scratch, then it hurts!!!

One thing I'd love to put on the bonfire is the surgeon who did my MX. I'm still finding ways he screwed up. sigh

    Onward and upward and remember:

Life is too short - no matter how long it is!!!

So much activity today!!!  Love the pics!  I'd like to throw away all the paperwork and email I get from work!  And my 10 page review that really doesn't matter to me!  Do you think if I threw away my "breast cancer" file, I'd wake up the next day and this would all be a big dream (nightmare)?  I wish!

So, I've had a headache for about a week.  I've tried everything to get rid of it. So, today I drank a Diet Coke (I've been avoiding the stuff since I had a recurrence).  I don't know - just thought I'd try to stay away from anything toxic.  That Diet Coke just looked and tasted so good and my headache subsided!  :)

Astorm - I would have been pi$$ed about the champagne.  I don't think it's unreasonable to make your DD pay you back.  Maybe find a really good bottle and take her to see it????

I forgot to mention that I'm going to see an onco at Sloan Kettering next week.  And my hubby is going with me.  We're going to spend Memorial Day weekend in NYC with my sister and her family!  :)

    Hey all,

Sorry I have been MIA but I just have alot going on right now. I won't get into all of it just yet, but I can tell you my mother was diagnosed with a disease called MDS. I dont know alot about it except it has something to do with her bone marrow and it's not a good thing. I am also waiting on some tests and I may have to have a biopsy of my liver, I won't know until the doc calls me this week. That's about all for now. Glad to see everyone is doing well and kitty good luck to you if you are starting chemo? .. not sure but just wanted to wish you the best. Love to you all and I will be in touch later. OXOXOXOX

Loving all the stories and the pictures.

Welcome Lizzy, stick around.....we have lots of fun here (for the most part) and are very supportive.

Astorm, your daughter throws those fits cuz it gets her what she wants! I DO NOT miss those teen years!

Junie, you are drowning and NM is in drought! Glad you got all your mail tho!

I have already met Sadie, glad you figured out how to post pictures NM.

Kitty, I hope you get answers you are looking for and enjoy time with your sister!

Dee, thank you so much for checking in. We love you and miss you. I am so sorry to hear of everything that is going on and sending lots and lots of prayers, hugs and love. For you and your mom. You have a lot on your plate right now. Please let us know when you find anything out, or at least one of us. Take care (((((DEE)))))

I have just been busy busy busy. Work and playing a bit outside with gardening. I haven't even done my dishes from Sunday! I going through sugar like you wouldn't believe, for the hummingbirds, but they are so much fun to watch and I have SOOOOO many!

I don't really have anything to throw in the fire....maybe I'm not looking hard enough! But I'll certainly help you all toss things in there!

Connie--somewhere on the boards there is someone who collects prostheses for re-distribution to financially challenged bc survivors.  I thought I had saved her PM, I'll see if I can find her again.  She was going to get back in touch with me after my recon next month.

kittykat--sounds like you were in caffiene withdrawal!  Have you cut back on other caffiene-containing things like coffee and chocolate?  Another reason not to deprive ourselves of little luxuries in life. Good luck at Sloan-Kettering!

Dee--Welcome back, sorry so much is going on, let us know what we can do to help/support you.

Since Dee is a little tied up with life, may I suggest the drink of the day

    Cherry Tuesday:

    1/2 oz Tequila
    1/4 oz Amaretto
    1 oz Cherry Vodka
    1/2 oz Dry Sherry
    4 oz (Cold) Cola

Dee, Thank you so much for posting! We have all been so worried, and now see that we had reason to worry about you. I am so very sorry to hear about your mom's dx, as well as you possibly needing a liver biopsy. Hoping and praying your tests come back showing that your liver is ok, and you don't need to do that! This is the time you could lean on us for support, and be able to vent your frustrations here. You know we will be right there alongside you....oh wait, maybe you don't want all of us there acting crazy....LOL....j/k. I think we need to get our bus gassed up and ready to go out to OH and cheer you up. PLEASE let us know when you hear something, and know that we love you and care about you!

Lori, I am jealous of your hummies!!! We usually get a few, and have a ball watching them, except when "Attilla the Hum" attacks the other hummies as he wants the feeders all to himself. Boy they sure can get viscious (sp?). We have had 2 feeders out for about a month, and only have seen one hummie (and that was awhile ago). Still busy doing things with my mom...gonna pick her up in a few minutes, actually. I am so sad she will be leaving soon......

That was an amazing bonfire last night...I bet we could have another one soon and fill it up, too! Nice to see everyone here....hope this ends up being a good day for all. Take care! Cool

    Hugs and Love,

    Kathy

NM, I was writing as you were posting, so didn't see your post! Thanks for filling in for Dee...that drink looks yummy! I really love that Banana Fosters drink from the other day and need to print that out and try it! I guess we can get the TT's to fix ALL those drinks for us, and we can sample them all!!! How is Sadie today? Give her a hug from me.

Sadie says "Hi!"  She had a visitor from across the street this morning, an older guy (pit bull/rottie mix) named Dred.  You'd think he'd been a terror but he's a real wimp!   She's had three games of fretch and catch already this morning, so I'm behind on my housework and yard work.  Oh, well, it'll still be there later.

The TTs and Wenches keep a record of the drinks we choose for each day, and have unlimited supplies available for each one.  Sometimes they line them up so we can go from one drink to another--always makes for a fun evening, and lots of us asleep in the pool!

Welcome Sadie (and her fave squeekie toy)! Congrats NM on your new friend!

Welcome Stanzie, and anyone else I may have missed.....

(((Dee))) So sorry about your mom!

LOL @ NM & A Storm for the man pic - too bad about his micro 'parts' - NOT!

Am in London, no ash disruptions for us this trip (so far, there's always tomorrow when we leave).

Was busy this week with yardwork and such. Avery thinks she's helping when she's actually taking me away from the work I need to accomplish but she tries. The vegetable garden is in so now all I do is water, water, water and wait for everything to grow!

I'll be having a pint with the pilots tonight so cheers from London! Oh, and the queen wanted me to say "hi" from her! LOL!

Dee! I knew that Bananas Foster Cocktail would bring you back. Sorry to hear about your mom and about your own situation. Jeez it seems like you have paid your dues! If you need to burn something let me know...

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for joining me at the bonfire -- so refreshing! I think we should have them more often so things don't build up... that was a lot of junk and I tend to horde things (you'll see me on a documentary someday about "collectors").

Heather - have a great time in the City! I LOVE NYC! Haven't been there in several years since I'm on the other coast and have no legitimate excuse but everytime I go there I have so much fun.

I'd love to stay and listen to the songbirds (they are intense right now) but I have to run off to work. Have a great day!

Dee - so sorry about your Mom and whatever might be going on with your liver.

Jaybird - London sounds wonderful! So nice you got your audience with the Queen and everything - hope you remembered to back out and not show your back to her... All those protocols!

NM- Wow, sounds like Sadie has just fit in perfectly and is even entertaining guests - I'm impressed. She also seems to have figured out her job - keep you alway from all drudgery! Works for me.

Well, that would be me - a nice drink and sound asleep in the pool.... Ahhhh

On the 84 bottle of champagne, I will share it with as many of you as I can but really I was trying to keep AStorm's DD's out of further trouble!

Sorry about the delayed response but I was out interviewing PS's and if any of you thought Satan was not on this planet, or were unsure where it might be, it is alive and kicking in CT!   He told me I would NEVER be happy with my post bmx results b/c of the size of my current breasts and that anyone who has told me differently is lying!

i think these doctors, with their smug attitudes, don't realize that one day they are going to be a patient, and perhaps a scared patient, and that is when the laws of fate and justice will rise and give it a taste of "what goes around comes around!"

And there goes another POS, girls!

Oh, Lizzy, that is awful! I saw Dr. Satan's brother here in CA before my bmx. This guy was so arrogant! AND he actually told me that I looked like what most of his patients are trying to achieve. I didn't hate my body, I had breast cancer and was there to talk about reconstruction! He told me to do a lumpectomy because I would never be happy with reconstruction. I went home and cried. I did try the lumpectomy and it didn't work. Guess which PS I didn't go back to when I realized I needed a bmx. I've matured a lot in the past year so if I ever see him again I'm going to tell him what an @$$wipe he is. ... but for now, I'm going to the pool... but I'm a little afraid of the Cherry Tuesday, NM.  Maybe just a nice glass of wine tonight. Can you drink wine by the pool?

The plastic surgeon I turned down wasn't quite that bad but told me that I should do implants because I was too overweight for a TRAM. He never even talked about doing a DIEP. The same day I saw the PS who did my surgery (a DIEP) and I'm so thrilled with his work! I would recommend him in a heartbeat. Sometimes you get lucky on the Drs and sometimes, not so much. Implant PS told me that he was shooting for me to look good in clothes. I told him I already did with my prosthesis but wanted to be symmetrical again (or at least closer).

    Bah, stupid Drs.

I'm lifting a glass to all those in the world who are suffering in any way shape or form and to those who aren't. Oh, heck, I'm just looking for an excuse to lift my glass, apparently!

Connie - I was told that I didn't have enough tissue for a flap procedure unless they did a free flap (thigh) so I am trying the implants first. I was thinking that I should eat lots of chocolate so I'll have more tissue in case I don't like the implants.

AStorm...I find taking the bottle of wine INTO the pool is best and get one of those kid blow up toys, put your wine bucket in there and let it float with you!  You can also make WINE ICE CUBES!   One more thing to consider is a wine BOX in a garbage bag and the big straw!  If you all need anymore good ideas, let me know because I have them!

That PS was just a run of the mill Ahole but I find it to be particularly injurious to speak to bc patients that way.  Whatever, like I said, someday he will be the sick and he will find out what it is like.   I kind of feel bad that he is either so anesthetized to his perilous nature or it is contrived.  Last week I had my surgeon I fired on speakerphone yelling at me about how her staff is infallible and filled out all paperwork correctly (which I guess is why my disability was getting cancelled as of the day of surgery!!!!) in front of 2 friends and a poor 75 year old census worker who was just sick that she even had to hear my surgeon talking to me like that and that this was also the person who was supposed to do a bmx on me within 48 hours of this = NO...your fired!

Let's get some socialized medicine and get rid of those in it for the money and then we can get some REAL COMPASSION and REAL health *care.*

You guys are going to find this hysterical!  I never put the cell phone to my head and I don't use bluetooth.  As much as I possibly can, I talk on speakerphone.   What this means, generally, is that I end up holding the phone close to my breasts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I was worried about it effecting my head so I put it near my breasts!!!!!!!!!!!  Yes, I am going to win the Darwin award this year!!!!!!

DEE!!!!  So glad you joined us!!!  Sorry to hear about your mom.  Hope all goes well with the liver.

Lizzy - that PS must have a twin brother in Vegas.  This PS would not show me pics of his work because he didn't want me to have high expectations.  I would be very unhappy with reconstruction.  Then, he evaluates my augmentation and asks me "Did you really want to be that big?"   I was a 34D/DD, but really didn't look that big.  Mind you -  I LIVE IN VEGAS!  He goes on a on about what my last PS should have done.  And then tells me he can take some fat from my belly and use it for fat grafting on my breasts.  I felt fat, ugly and kind of yucky after i left.  I called the other PS's office to schedule my bmx and recon from his parking lot (I should have done it while I was in the room with him).  OH... and this pompous a$$ called my insurance for a pre-authorization for my surgery.  My PS couldn't get an approval, so I had to call the pompous a$$ and tell his office that he will NEVER work on my body!!!

    Kitty-

What is it with these PS disaster stories?!   What is the difference how big your augmentation made you?   You do live in Vegas and so therefore you were kind of on the small side!   I am really stunned that he tried to get pre-approval.   That is just going to way too far...and that is what Angie's List is for!

When this joker yesterday saw me getting packed up he started to change his tune but screw them all!  He can go call that other (sounds like witch!) who thought she was going to yell at me about how infallible her office staff was 48 hours before she was to cut me open because they need to become better acquainted!  Yeah...your office staff is the best: that is why I get a letter that my disability is being cancelled as of the day of surgery!   They are all just wonderful.
Only 1 month since dx and I am not sure what is worse: bc or the docs we are exposed to!  And they also want us to stop/moderate drinking...yeah--when you all start acting like human beings maybe we will!

Oooooohhhhh  my.........I think those coals are still pretty hot girls and all of those pompous ASSES should go in there! Not using any "symbols" to take the place of letters on that one. An ASS is an ASS! Sorry if I have offended anyone.

Kathy, have fun with mum and tell her we all said hello. And the same with you Jaybird, give the Queen our best!

My hummingbird feeders, which I have several of, have 10 openings. I get a hummer on each hole! And sometimes if there are all full, others will land on another ones back. In the early evening they really go at it, its like a swarm of bees! We get the aggresive ones in August, they are a brownish red, which could be a Rufous or another one, but can't think of the name. The ones I have now...one has a purple throat and the other has kind of a violet/pink throat. (Not a Ruby Throat tho, I had those in MI) But none the less, I LOVE THEM. Darrell and I call them "our kids"!

Kitty, are you in NY? If so, let us know how it goes.

    Good one Lizzy....LMAO!

Hey Jaybird....I know a good place where you can get an irrigation system! Wink

    As HD said.....Chairs!

Uh-Oh!!!  I threw my rowboat in the bonfire.  Forecast is severe weather with heavy rains for next two days...AStorm, keep the bus ready; think I'll need to borrow it.   Kathy, please round up that Miller Lite truck and send it my way.

Think I'll pop into the casino for a bit then take my bucket out to the pool and see who's there.  HAPPY HUMP DAY to ALL.

I think most PSs are there for the money. You have to consider that many of their patients are, well, plastic (no judgement here, I'm just saying... there are probably a few people who have too much money and choose to spend it on unneccessary work to make themselves more "perfect" and they are taking up residence in the PS office). And this type of patient probably is often disappointed. There really are two different breeds of PS. It took some effort but I found one who has compassion. He goes on rotoplast missions to correct birth defects on children in 3rd world countries. He greets me with a hug everytime he sees me and when I'm going under he actually makes eye contact with me until the anesthesia takes over. Unfortunately he was the 4th PS I went to and he is now trying to fix the careless errors of another surgeon.

The first PS I went to told me i would have a bad prognosis with cancer because I didn't have a positive attitude ( this is 4 days after I have been told I have bc). Then goes on to say he just doesn't understand why I'd be upset or worried cause this was such a wonderful chance for cosmetic improvement! Oh yeah, that is what was the most important thing to me right then.....

Astorm-I hold ps, at large, in fairly low regard and perhaps that comes across but more to your point about the caliber of individual who has too much money and is spending it on issues that don't exist (!), there was a woman in creep's waiting area yesterday.  She was very gregarious and was making no secret of why she was there...to purchase some lip plumper!   What was most interesting was what she does for a living: she runs a NON-PROF that is supposed to be diverting every penny to drive efforts on clean water around the world.   I guess $250 for lip plumper is congruent with such altruism!   It was also revealed she is running a tab with the PS to the tune of nearly 2x's the lip plumper!   The whole thing reminded me of when Meg Ryan went to the Middle East supposedly to liberate disenfranchised women with her bee-stung lips!  Is botox a form of liberation...or is it playing into the very same mysogyny that holds women down!?!??!   Life is one big, fat irony!
