Astorm---GOOD CALL! Oh, and btw, when I asked SATAN what the first fill would be he said ***250**** cc's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 250!!!!
You all are going to love this one too: I try to always avoid putting the cell phone near my head so instead I do almost all my talking on speaker, which is also why my friends and that poor census worker heard my conversation with that witch surgeon I just fired (!), so in any case, guess where I end up holding it??? HELLO BOOB!!! Right near my breasts! My friend was hysterical, making fun of me telling me in my attempt to avoid brain cancer I may have caused breast cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to bartend and blue curacao with Vodka and a little Triple is quite nice!

Ok, I bought a wine fridg with a lock on it that will be delivered in a couple of days but I'm clearing out my liquor cabinet cuz I refuse to ruin an antique by putting a funky lock on it. I have quite a stash too... odd bottles collected from my travels... Becherovka from the Czech Republic, pastis and Benedictine from Paris, Barenfang from Bavaria, Pama from Austria, and of course all the usual suspects... it's all going on the bus so fire up your creativity! ooo there is an unopened bottle of Nuvo!

AStorm--this is our lounge and we can drink anything we want anywhere we want! Wine by the pool it is!Not sure if Sadie is a swimmer yet, but the shelter did say she loves to play in water, so I'm betting she is.
Connie-here's to lifting glasses, and I'm lifting one to you so you have an excuse to lift another one!

Hi junie..Got that Miller Lite Truck heading your way! And you may need to rescue your rowboat....bummer to have all that rain. Took mom out of town today to see her old cronies (shouldn't say that, as they are very sweet!), and just got home after 7...trying to cram in a happy hour! Tomorrow night we go to a concert with a Willie Nelson sound-alike...fun though! Since it is outside, I HOPE your rain does not head this way!!!
AStorm, What a great idea for that wine fridge....with LOCK!!! Sounds like some yummy wines you have been collecting!
Jaybird, Hope you got home safely today and had a good happy hr with the crew last night!!! I tried a great Italian wine at Earth Fare last week...was an asti....soooooo good!!!
Bottoms Up gals....Having fun at the HTL!!!

Holy Crap! Just glanced out window to check on clouds (next round is moving in...) and watched a critter stroll across the backyard. It was either a fox or a coyote--looked to be bigger than a fox but both have bushy tails.....guess all the rain has flooded out some low-lying lairs. Will have to tell DH to watch dog when he goes out in the early morning! TWO buckets, please, Jocks or Candie!!!
Jaybird, hope you are home safe again. QE rang me up a tad bit ago inquiring were you home safely. Told her I'd check. She expressed interest in visiting us at the HTL and asked did we serve high tea? I told her I wasn't sure about high tea but we could for sure serve her tea that would make her high!!! Her Royal Highness is thinking that one over!!!
AStorm--is Pastis that licorace-flavored liquor? That was our son's fav drink when he lived in France and was all he served. I never developed a taste for it, but if you have any 1664 beer in that likker cabinet, be sure to toss it on the bus!!! DIBS!!!
Kathy, heading out to the pool with some Willie Nelson CD's--one of my fav CW performers. Have seen several of his concerts years ago. He used to come to Eureka Springs once a year to give a concert in our small town auditorium. Rumor has it that he just loves Eureka (and would come to stock up on his years' supply of weed!). Hope to catch him next time he's in town! Jocks/Candie--THANKS!!--these are ice cold.........
ps--NM--let me know when Sadie's coming to swim; I'll bring Pancho to keep her company!!!
hugggssss to All!!!!!

Junie, the Queen DOES like tea and whispered that Long Island Iced Tea was her fave - go figure!
SO much drinkin' goin' on here - about time I say! I'm off for a few days so will do more gardening (bough some very nice rose plants that need planting) before I have to work, work, work, pretty much thru mid-June. The more I work the more I make so how can I not work? Kids, homes and dogs (not to mention feeding the birds!) do not come cheap! The Queen will hang with me one more time before I bail for Ireland. I told her they have great Scotch there and she agreed - she may even meet me in Shannon! (LOL)
Jocks, Pants, Candie, (who is our other girlie???) - line 'em up, it's my Friday and I'm ready to relax! Cheers and chairs to all!

Junie, Love your reference to the Queen getting high on tea!!! Yikes, watch our for those critters! And keep Pancho safe from them too....scary. Shall I send my vicious squirrels after them?? Neat that WN loved going to your town....and stocking up...better get those roach clips handy.
Jaybird, Would love to join you in Ireland for some pub drinking....still have that place on my "places to see" list....someday (sigh). Good luck getting your planting done! I am SO behind on housework & yardwork, but would rather spend time w/ my mom while shes here. Give Avery a hug from all her "aunties" here.
HunkyD, Lori, AStorm, etc.....you all know who you are (getting to be a big list and my memory ain't what it used to be!), come on down and grab a bar stool or a pool floatie, or a lounge chair...and lets PARTAY!!!! This round is on me.....

Ok, I give up. I'm trying to get smart but my brain stopped functioning about an hour ago so I might as well get stupid. Anyone ever have a "smart drink". I don't get it.
No floaty for this kitten, but I'll take a lounge chair and something to relax my brain cells.

If you find any of those "smart drinks" Gail, tell Jocks how to make them...I sure could use some of those!!!
Cheers and Chairs!!!

GM all !
Today I will be having needle biopsy for some nodule/cysts they found on my liver. Hopefully it's nothing cancerous but they have to check since I had BC. It could explain a lot of the pain and swelling I get sometimes. I have also been told that I have IBS, mostly brought on in me with stress. WHO MOI??!! STRESSED??! Guess I am not drinking enough to take the edge off.
Bottoms up y'all!
Oh yeah, they said that will have to get checked out as well..Blah!

How about a Smarty?
1 oz Southern Comfort
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Blackberry Brandy
1/2 oz Sweet and Sour Mix0 -
Dee, thanks again for letting us know what is going on. Praying for only IBS! Good luck today, I hope it isn't very painful. We are all there with you girl!
So many posts, I know I will miss some. Our Tattie Tenders are Pants, Jocks, Candie, Sugar and Skate.
Jaybird, enjoy your "tea" with the Queen!
Astorm, there are some pretty comfy hammocks over in the "Banana Hammock". I'll send Skate over there to get you your drink of choice. Maybe that "Smarty" NM posted. Thanks NM!
Y'all let me know when them pooches will be swimming in the pool, I'm sure it will be smelling real nice at the HTL!
Kathy, you are right on. Housework and yardwork can wait, they will ALWAYS be there.
Junie, I'll join you too, since you have TWO buckets, besides...I like WN too and I know you'll share.
Connie, can you take some benedryl for that itching? Or just extra drinks might just make you forget about it...lol.
Hugs to all my lounge lizard ladies!

NM, Thanks for posting the "Smarty" drink...think it'll work? If so, I better drink buckets of it..LOL. How is dear Sadie doing?
Dee, That sucks, big time! How soon will you know the results? I hope they can do the biopsy with as little pain as possible. Too bad you can't drink first! We're getting the bus loaded up and picking everyone up to come and support you....and gals we can't take too much luggage...gotta fit all the booze! Praying that your liver is okay, and that the IBS can be controlled with diet. Sending BIG hugs (((Dee))), and comforting vibes your way. Keep us posted!
Morning everyone! Hope you weren't affected by the storms, junie! Looks like some of it is coming our way, but if it rains the concert will be moved into the ballroom, so that part is ok. My mom wanted to bring some wine in a thermos, but I don't think they would allow it there...LOL! Looks like you and Lori will be joining us for the WN (impersonator) concert. The more the merrier!!!!
Cheers and Chairs,
Kathy (aka Raquelle Leather Rock....remember when we did our names???)

Hahahahaha....I remember when we did them, but I don't remember mine!

At work.....but checking in and wishing Dee the best. Junie....save me a spot by the pool or better yet, somebody swing by in the bus and get me the hell out of here. Wind is blowing about 25mph here and it is 45 degrees. You are always on my mind! HD

Geez HD, that is C-O-L-D!!!!! It will be upper 80's here today, and 90 by weekend. Hop on the bus...start singing "On The Road Again"!

Hugs for Dee (((DEE))) I just figured out what that means! Here's hoping they find only a minor problem and you can get some relief.
Thanks for the hammock suggestion, Lori. It is sunny and warm in Cali. I'll have 2 Smartys cuz I'm going outside to study.

Princess GlitterSizzle says Hi!
Sadie went to work with me today, spend the day in a room full of dog lovers who helped me keep her a secret from the Security Guard on his rounds (dogs aren't allowed on campus unless they are service dogs). Lots of petting, lots of attention, a good long walk inthe woods during lunch break, a nap in the sunshine in the afternoon, another nap in the car on the way home. Thought she was tired, but she just insisted on another brisk game of fetch & catch and she's finally settled down again for another nap.
I'm going to ask the TTs and Wenches to set up a doggie pool for our furbabies, one that is perpetually upwind of the rest of the lounge!
In the meantime, I want a hammock and a large, strong glass of something tasty!

Mine would be Sugar Velvetshock hmmm? - I think I like Princess Glittersizzle - very funny.
Dee - certainly hope it is nothing worse than IBS and you can at least rid yourself of the stress of more worry -
I'm so glad to hear the Queen isn't stuff at all and enjoys festive teas.
Those last two drinks looked tasty but killer - I would definately be under the table but probably pretty happy about it.
I love the idea of dogs floating in pools relaxing......

Lola Sunny Tower checking in!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, forgot to tell you, Mr. Uck Face yesterday, the nasty PS, offered me his email on my way out just in case I had questions?!?!?!? Like what? Directions to hell!?!! Today was better as after I had to deal with the docs, I did not think about cancer too much and there was no liquid anesthesia involved either!!!!! I just changed the channel! I hope you all had a good day and tomorrow I am going to revisit my college years and making JELLO SHOTS!!!!!!! Making them for someone else but I will have to taste my results! Goodnight all

Just returning from Viognier night. Mmm. I had the most delicious viognier from Condrieu (northern Rhone, France)...too bad we do only 1 oz pours. Someone in my class said she heard that women who have had breast cancer should never drink. What a buzz kill and IMO it isn't even true. I love it that I can have whatever I want at HTL and no one judges me.

OMG - you chicks (sorry - gals? ladies? drinkers?) are way too funny!
MN, I'm all for the doggie water pool, too. My Lucy loves to wash her feet in the water bowl. WTH? It's cute and aggravating at the same time. I guess she likes clean feet???
Stanzie, have you EVER had a bad time under the table??? SO much fun can be found there! (lol)
Lizziemack, have lots 'o fun with the jello shots! Never did that myself (again, WTH?) but have heard that it's a good rime had by all! Enjoy and report back a.s.a.p., s.v.p.
Gail, I LOVE voignier's if they're GOOD! I think most are? After all, they're French! Oh, la la! And I think that other woman was her own buzz kill! I know you're not supposed to DRINK at a wine tasting but I sure hope you did. But if not, perhaps you spit out the wine on that stupid woman???
Cheers!

Lizzy - I was just talking to my mom tonight about how bad Meg Ryan's plastic surgery looks. My sister saw her at the Plaza in NYC one day. My sister's friend said, "look at that woman, she has reall bad plastic surgery." And my sister said, "OMG that's Meg Ryan!" Scary!!! There are a LOT of women here in Vegas that have that plumped up look. I have a pouty lower lip so one of my friends thought I got the lip plumper (until she saw pics of me as a child with that same lip). And my lip is just a little pouty! LOL!!!
Lori - sounds like everything has been going well with the hummingbirds in the garden. I had a hummingbird fly right up to me in the backyard. It had the most amazing pink/purple spot on its chest!
NM -love the pic!!!

So this is the new update about me....
I got my PETscan and brain MRI today. I complained to my onco that I've had headaches so he ordered the brain MRI, too. The PETscan was okay. The tech wanted me to put my arms over my head. With 10 lymph nodes being removed, that wasn't going to happen! So, he let me put my arms at my sides. I almost fell asleep during the process. Then the MRI was freaky. I told the tech that he was putting me in some Hannibal Lecter contraption. He laughed! He told me not to fall asleep. How can anyone fall asleep during an MRI with all that noise???
I saw the local onco that specializes in breast cancer. She was really great. I wish I had seen her all along, but at least I found her now. She wanted to be the central point of access to all my doctors and coordinate everything. She was interested to see what the onco at Sloan Kettering had to say, too. She had the scheduler call my breast surgeon's office to have a port put in (my appt is in 2 weeks). She also ordered an echocardiogram.
Next week I'm off to NYC to go to Sloan Kettering. I am excited to go and see my sister. My husband is joining me and we're going to spend Memorial Day weekend there.
