Beans and Kitty good luck on your treatment this week. Kitty sorry you are having an "icky" day. I always had to look at the "brighter" side of it. "At least I'm not puking"! Wahine, I hope you are feeling better today as well. Wasn't somebody else here getting ready to start something?

Hope everyone enjoyed their Lava Flows, now its time for a BLUE HAWAII

    1 1/2 oz Vodka

    1/4 oz Bllue Curacao

    1/4 oz Creme de Coconut

    3-4 oz Pineapple Juice

Blended - Combine with scoop of ice in an electric mixer Mix well (15 - 20 sec.) Pour into collins or small hurricae glass. (This is the way to go!)

On the Rocks - Combing ingredients in a shaker with with ice. Mix well and strain into a collins or small hurricane glass filled with crushed ice.

Jules, love the Space Needle!  Chemo Brain, who notices spelling?!  LOL... barely remember words!!

Kathy, hooray for the new cheer...Bottums Up!  Just in time for Hawaii!  Ladies, start packing your coconut bras for Maui!!  ;)  We need to learn some Hawaiian phrases.  Teach me how to say "body massage from the young hunk."  Onc game me the a-ok for the spa- woo-hoo!!

Heather, hope you're feeling better each day!  I'm still achy-yucky.  But my counts are coming up and I had my first herceptin only treatment today.  It still took three hours at the Dr's office.  Good grief!!

Lori, loving your big, beautiful hair!  Can't wait to get some of my own!  Thanks for the DOTD.  Ooh, lava flows are my favorite!!!  Where is my blender?!  I couldn't believe it, but after all the eating and drinking I did while my brother was in town I still managed to be down a couple pounds since my last onc appt.  Guess I need to catch up here in the HTL!

Marybell, haha- me too!! Bottums Up!!

    Aloha!!

Speaking of spelling or saying things a bit different...my cousin in OZ mentioned we would need "jumpers" for our trip into the Blue Mountains. So I described the simple dress we refer to as a "jumper" while also saying I would rather not wear a dress. LOL....it means "sweater"! The trip is sounding exciting now....trying to get all the reservations in place.

HELP our poor memories here....we want to all get on the bus and support you, so let us know whoever it is, we need a good reminder!! I am getting stir-crazy here....tons of stuff to do inside, but I haven't been ANYWHERE for a week since I got sick. Finally feeling lots better, so I guess I need to rejoin the human race......

NM, you can have 2...one for each hand!

I didn't even see the typo on Bottums Up until Wahine said something...cute!

LadyM, it is def. BIG hair. I am going to let it get longer, but if the curls and frizz don't calm down I will probably take it back to where it is now. Coconut bras.....hahaha, some of us already have ours. You can see that in the video! Wahine can certainly teach you some Hawaiian sayings. We pretty much just said Mahalo and Aloha! When are you leaving?

I see all this talk about vacation and Swansea's all packed, where we going? With Lady M? I'll only go if we can get rid of the humidity!

LOL Wahine, hadn't heard the word jumper in a long time. When are you leaving for OZ?

Funny story about your wine Kitty. Junie, HD and myself must be ‘beeroissieur???

Wahine, I agree with HD...you should go topless and show off your new tats...lol. J/K of course. But glad to hear you are feeling much better.

Junie, don't you have more company rolling in this weekend?

Well lets see, thinking a Summer Sunrise sounds just about perfect for today! Think I'll grab one of those, a floaty and request a massage in the pool! OH Yaaaaaa! Maybe Kitty has some wine to donate.

Ingredients: 1 Orange (Juice of, fresh)
    1/2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
Sparkling Wine (White) Instructions: Combine in a collins glass. Add ice if you like

GAWGEOUS drink, Lori! Interesting ingredients also....hmmmmm...lets have some pitcher-fulls of this one! Yeah, swansea mentioned the spelling first, so I just went with it....cute way to say it! We leave for OZ on Sept 1...arrive on the 3rd.....verrrrrrrrry long trip....25 actual hrs from when we leave from our airport to when we arrive in Sydney. Will celebrate my mom's 90th and my 60th (shhhhhhh! I'm not REALLY gonna be that old am I?)....so the relatives are planning a big party, plus we will go to the mtns for a couple of days with them, and other activities planned. Then we will fly to Brisbane for a few (few days, few beers, whatever!). And I am still working on all the hotel res, etc for that trip. BUT I close on the house for my parents at the end of July...which is still taking a lot of time...the sellers vacate Aug 4, my mom arrives Aug 5 to see her new place and move some stuff(for 2 wks), and my DD and family arrive the last week of August. Can I say...."STRESSED"!!!!!!!

Yeah, bring on those drinks Pants.....think I'll chill by the pool. After Lori gets her massage....I'm next!

I'm riding my floaty right into the HTL--we have had sooooo much rain last couple days!   Grabbing a pitcher of Summer Sunrise's and heading out to the pool to join Lori.    Our next round of company has postponed their visit for another week.   I'm glad to have a little break!

    Happy Tuesday to ALL !!

For those of us that want to cut back on calories, I know all the drinks at the HTL are lo-cal, cause thats the only way Pants and Jocks can make them....no matter how fattening they taste! LOL. BUT for when we are making drinks at home.....on the view today they featured some recipes from the Hungry Girl Cocktail Recipes....lo-cal and yummy. Here is a link in case anyone is interested. They said the lo-cal margarita was really good, and is just 115 cal. They had some lo-cal recipes too that look good. But for us drinkers, this should be checked out:

    Hi Ladies!

Had a bit of extra free time in class today so thought I'd pop in for a quick drink and a massage.

Hope everyone is doing well, and that chemo isn't being too rough on people. Beans, it really sounds like your treatment is similar to the treatment I had for my colon cancer.

So I'm having an internal dilemma. To nipple or not to nipple. Can I get opinions from anyone? It might help me decide.

    ciao for niao,

Jules, Yup I better not forget to pack that jumper! LOL. I love how they refer to McDonalds too...I think it is "Mackas". I'll have to brush up on the different dialect!

Connie, I had the 3D tatts instead of having my PS make nips, and I am very happy with them. Really looks real, and she did it with a light color, as I had wanted. No headlights showing through clothes! If you go that route, I am sure there might be a good tattoo artist in the Pacific NW. Earleen (in Asheville, NC) does it at n/c for cancer patients, and there may be others that do the same. If you were driving distance (which you aren't) from NC, I would definately recommend her! Some gals have their PS make nips, but have a tattoo artist do the 3D tatts as they can do much better color blending, etc.

Stanzie, When we left your house in Atlanta and were driving back to the motel, we got a kick out of the sign a homeless guy carried. It said "Why Lie...Need Beer!". We couldn't help smiling at him.

All day working on the home purchase AGAIN...aarrgggggghhhhhh....will be nice when closing will be over.

Just popping in very quick. Things have been very busy - Sean does not need a root canal but we are in a wait and see mode.... Reconstruction of the house variety will start soon and I have to get busy packing everything up. Disappointed in my insurance - gave my contractor a hard time and still doesn't pay for everything at all. Sigh - I guess I'll have to keep trying for a bit more at least.

I've been helping my former music teachers who are both in their 80's and in wheelchairs. They were displaced and had to be evacutated from their home last fall due to the horrific floods. They are back in the house but still lots to do and they are going to have a housewarming party tomorrow night so I've been helping them get ready! Huge deal. Also Phantom of the Opera - final tour is in town and they are friends of the musical director so we are all going to see the show and go backstage which should be fun.

Wahine - Glad everything sounds good on your parents home. Have a fabulous trip but how could you otherwise - we want to see pictures! I think you should be very proud to go topless! And I still do not believe at all you are turning 60, it just isn't possible. You Mom must look like she is about 60 which makes you,....?

Hunky - I like that - we are all unstable here - just sounds so nice and matter of fact. Nothing even to worry about. We All need that!

Chemo girls - here is to keep getting all good news and feeling better!

Wahine, age is just a number! Altho I am a little bit younger than you, I can't believe I am going to be 53! I feel soooo much younger, other than the side affects from Arimidex!

Hey Connie! Glad you stopped by. Such decisions to make! Nipple or no nipple....! LOL. I am not laughing AT the situation, just that it sounds funny.

Stanz, glad to hear things aren't as bad for Sean, but sorry about the probs you are having with your insurance company :(

Junie, glad you are gonna get a little break in there before more company. I'll gladly float around with you in the pool, however I may ..............TIP YOU OVER! (**splash**)

I've said it before, I'll say it again.....anyone else want to jump in with DOTD, please do so! Or I am gonna pass out jobs again! LOL

Todays drink is for Wahine and Connie. Unfortunately I can't find an image for this one...bummer!

    Topless Nun Recipe

    Ingredients
    2/3 oz. Peach Schnapps
    1/3 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream
    Drop of Sambuca (Black)
    Mixing Instruction
Pour the schnapps and the Bailey's into a shot glass and with a straw place a drop of sambuca in the centre, making small nipple-like dot

Oh Lori, that drink is a riot!!!! That's why we like you doing the DOTD! And NM, when she gets better. (And there have been others that did amazing jobs, but I can't remember names!). What a cool drink. Also, they have the "Slippery Nipple" drinks....however there seem to be so many different varieties. When a substitute bartender made them for me at the casino, they were one of the best drinks I had ever had. When the regular bartenders are there, I don't even like the taste of how they make it. Not as pretty and unique looking as this drink though!!!

Thanks Stanzie, for the nice words. I don't feel that old either. As Lori, said, I think we all prob feel a lot younger than we really are! But yes, my mom does look VERY young for her age...b4 she remarried my Dad in her 80's, she would get hit on by guys in their 60's...weird! Hope you are contributing some food to that housewarming party for your former music teachers....then it would surely be a success! What a touching story. And how neat to go backstage at the Phantom production. It would be so cool if you got back into theater work, as you would add so much to it, plus I think it would be very fulfilling. Bummer about all the probs getting your house repaired! And I do hope Sean improves and does not need to go through that procedure!

A big shoutout to everyone else, esp the chemo ladies! And Junie, I was thinking about visiting you in between guests....NOT....just wanted to wake you up this morning!!! Hope you are enjoying the peace and quiet. Lori, no shouting in the pool, junie has to relax....j/k! (Looks like it was me that was shouting)!

Hi Loungie Girls, Whew what I week. It was nice to have family but also nice to get back to my routine. I'm doing really well, had the second MF infustion yesterday and now have to take cytoxan pills through next Tues then 14 days off!!! That will complete cycle one and I can't wait!

Kittycat - I guess chemo symptoms for for 14 days, kindof groggy in the head. And yeah kind of yucky feeling. But we will get through this. My white counts were okay yesterday, but that's after the first tx. I get tired and have to take rests. I hope you are doing well! That sounds so fun rearranging the bar, no wine right now? Yeah, for me too, doesn't appeal, but the doc says I can have a little between tx's if it appeals.

    Hi immarybell - Cheers!

Goldie - I love the Blue Hawaii and the Summer Sunrise and the Topless Nun Recipe (perfect for wahine's jumper!), now those looks like something that will appreal! Nice and fruity, water has gotten so boring so this will be an excellent change - yippee - thanks!!! I'll be 53 in Nov.

Swanseagirl - I'm on the bus with you today for chemo #1, all the best to you and let us know how it goes.

Cheers to Lady_M and whatever words are left to remember!!!

Wahine - so are you wearing jumpers or jumpers? That sounds like a fun trup coming up. So nice your are getting to travel so much. Sorry to hear you got sick and I hope you're feeling better...going topless??? Oh boy a low cal margarits, I'll definitely check that out, great idea.

HD - so far no hair loss. I'm being real careful to not mess with it much and only wash it gently every other day, no drying, etc. Got my fingers crossed. I like the connoisseur description of us winos, it's much more dignified - thanks!

Hi junie - Now that it's Wed, I say happy Tues and Wed to you - Cheers!

Connie - nice to see you pop it, nice you get a bit of free time.

Stanzie - glad to hear Sean doen't need a root canal, those are awful. And house recon is moving along, great news. That's so nice of you to help your former music teacher.

Hi to NM and big hopes you're doing well!!

Well cheers, chairs and bottoms up! We're all on the bus with swanseagirl today and she'll be fine! Love, Peace, Health and Happiness to all!!! ~Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaans

Birthdays......My DH's birthday is Saturday. He LOVES White Castle hamburgers. I think he could live on them. When we go to TN to visit his mom, he eats them everyday! We don't have that chain out here in the west. But anyways, I found out they were selling candles that smelled like them, so I had my brother pick me up 3. The proceeds went to Autism Speaks and I beileive they sold out in 2 days!

White Castle Burger Scented Candle Anyways ......where the heck is everyone?

    Jamaican Me Crazy

    Ingredients

1 oz. Admiral Nelson's Coconut Rum
1 oz. Admiral Nelson's Raspberry Rum
1 oz. Arrow Banana Cream Liqueur
    splash(es) Cranberry Juice
    splash(es) Pineapple Juice

    Instructions

Mix in shaker glass. Serve on the rocks in a tall glass.

Yummmmo....Jamaican Me Happy Lori! Looks delicious! Would be funny at the end of the year to get all the drinks that have been our DOTD's together....what a smorgasbord of enjoyment that would be. You know, I have lived in the south now for over 30 yrs....and have never tried a White Castle burger. We have Krystal's here, and I don't care for them, but not sure if they are like WHite Castle's or not (Krystal's are itsy bitsy thin pcs of meat w/mostly bread). How kewl is that, that you found the White Castle scented candles!!! Would love to see his face when he opens that!

I know.....WHERE IS EVERYONE???? Bar has been so empty. We better take advantage of that, and have one Tattie Tender each.....ummmmm.....should I say "All Day Massages"???? Well in reality I have to go outside and make like Tom Sawyer, plus a lumberjack (I have to work on the fence painting, and then we will attempt to cut down 2 trees), b4 the heat index gets over 100!!! After that, I will get all day massages and enjoy those Jamaican Me Crazy drinks!

Yummmmmmm, Lori.    That drink brings smiles and reminds me of our trip to Jamaica two years ago.   White Castle candles--what won't they think of next!   We don't have a chain anywhere close either, but our local grocery carries boxed White Castle burgers in its freezer section.   Maybe your local gorcery store would order some for you, or maybe your Wal-Mart carries them?

Wahine, and anyone else caught up in this awful heat wave--take care when outside--it is brutal hot.    So hot, I don't even want to take the boat out!   Hopefully, it will cool off soon.

It's early, but I'm having Jocks fill my bucket and joining Lori and Wahine in the pool.   Watch out Lori--paybacks are hell and you're due for a dumping from me!!  LOL...

A Thirsty Thursday to ALL--everybody stay cool.    Bottoms Up!!!!

NM, So glad you are feeling better. Keep taking things slow, so you will recover fully and can then act crazy and wild at the HTL!!!

Junie, I painted waaaaaaaay too long in this heat...my face looked as red as a lobster when I came in! Even the neighbors kept telling me not to overdo...lol. Prob because his fence adjoining ours needs painting too, and now it looks worse since ours is looking so good! Lots more to do, but will just do 3 hrs or so at a time. Would love to wait till cooler weather, but with our trip to OZ,etc, sorta haveto gotta should do things now. Good idea you had for Lori to check the grocery freezer sections, or see if they could order it.

Enjoying my Seagrams/Diet Coke right now....anyone want to join me? Going out to dinner and then to see a Patsy Cline impersonator....should be fun. I don't like country music, but I do like Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline (oh, and Johnny Cash too!).
