how about drinking?

NM, Can I be in the hammock next to yours? That way we can GOSSIP.....that surely will bring everyone else around....LOL. And I'll even let you read your book, if we ever run out of things to say! OF COURSE we can have a million gazillion parties....one for you NOW, one for me on the house closing on the 29th, and one for Connie's surprise!!!! Just let Pants, Jocks, and the Wenches know what kind of party you want, and they will take care of all of it.
Lori, WOW...wonder what it was? The music? Weird to think that even if its "private", it can be viewed (I guess so they can regulate the content).
PARTY HEARTY!!!!!!!!!

Dang, I missed HD's wild words, wish she'd put 'em back. Dang again, DH had a buncha work stuff that has prevented us leaving, maybe tomorrow...Good news is I'm feeling more energetic today, hurray!
Connie - I'm all ready for a party and I'm on the edge of my seat to find out what we're celebrating. Oh boy, it's kindof like a surprise party.
NM - your oven story cracks me up, that could easily happen here too! One time we found something that should have gone in the fridge in the cupboard and neither DH or myself would admit to doing it. I know it wasn't me, but then, it could have been me, who knows???...Views into Canada are outrageously beautiful!! Great idea to park it on a hammock, I'd definitely show up for a gossip session. My brain is a little too hemorraged for much reading right now, and it seems like my eyes keep going in different directions. Chemo is real fun!
Wahine - glad you're back and glad for another reason to party, so now we have one on the 29th and on on the 6th. And of course you are all invited to the rec place (if we ever get to leave, maybe tomorrow). We can party there all next week. Then, don't forget the bus trip back to Seattle on Aug. 3 for round 2! It sure helped that you were there for round 1!
Goldie - another great drink choice, looks wild. That's weird about the video. I say, no worries, let's party!
Hope you all have a super fantastic, wonderful day. (It's actually sunny today here at the WA coast - what a gorgeous sight!)

Just a stopping by for a quick drink! Slurp Slurp!!!!!
It wasn't anything that HD said.........she had picture! That's all I'm saying ..... well of course she had a little to say. But those of you that know HD and her talent for posting some of the great pics at The HTL, you know it was good. Heck HD, send it to me.......I'll post it!
As for the video, the only thing I can see is right at the beginning, picture of the bar with the tv above the bar, the one where HD had put "Hunk" pic in (which, that one is not on the video). If they delete it, I have all the files and will redo it without that pic. WTH, how the heck can they screen every fricken video that ppl post on there???
See ya all in the morning.......!
Oh Beans.....still in chemo fog, that was Junie that found something in the oven! Unless my chemo brain missed a story from NM Hope you get to head out tomorrow for a little vacay!
Ok, I am in for the "NOW" ParTay..........all night long! Slurp slurp some more!
Love ya all! xoxox
I keep thinking of things to add..........got my hair cut today........byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

goldie--I've left things in the oven, too, I just can't think of any really good stories about that to tell right now, so you weren't that far off.
Beanie--glad you are getting good weather! It's supposed to be cloudy here today, which means it will be a bit cooler, and I'm hoping to get up enough energy to do some weeding and other garden work today. First, I've got to get my walk in, I didn't do it yesterday.
wahine--you can have the hammock next to mine anytime! I love a good gossip session, and am getting a bit stir crazy being home alone so much this summer. I'd much rather be working, at least then I get to see/talk to other people. Oh, well, there's next summer.
Connie--No fair keeping secrets! It's driving me nuts! Can you at least give us a hint??????

I did it! I walked to the goat farm and back-- 1/2 mile round trip! Goal #1 met during week 4 of recovery!
Goal #2--to walk 1 full mile
I'm so proud of me!
Drinks are on me, Ladies, I'm celebrating reaching a goal!
Champagne Celebration Drink: Ingredients:
1 Bitters
0.5 oz Brandy
4 oz Champagne
1 Sugar
0.5 oz Mandarine Napoleon Orange LiqueurDirections:
Mix together with crushed ice in a glass and garnish with mint leaves0 -
HooRay for NM....toasting that half mile as she puts it in her back pocket! YeeeeHaaaaa! Grabbing my celebration drink and heading over to the breakfast buffet. It's a champagne breakfast!
NO NO NM ........... YOU CAN'T BRING THE GOATS WITH YOU!
0 -
LMAO this morning!!!! I LOOOOOOOVE Champagne....and MOET is very good....partay, partay, partay!!!!!
YAY NM for reaching your first goal....way to go! Soooo hot here, so not walking outside, and the treadmill is upstairs, but a/c guy has to run all new lines for our new heat pump (a/c), so its not cool enough for me to use the treadmill....I know...excuses, excuses, excuses, and I can prob come up with more! Very pretty drink...I'll have one to look at, but then just drink the champagne!
Lori, I still wonder if it was the music as since they mentioned SONY, it very well could be. They may have the rights to that song. Wonder if you post the video with no sound, if that would work? Speaking of getting hair cut, I finally went the other day, and it was hot, and I was stressed, so I kept saying to go short....well SHE DID! I didn't realize how short till I got home (for some reason it didn't look as short there)!!!! Now DH has longer hair than I do.....lol.
Closing should be in 5 days...hoping for no more "surprises". Celebrating with our big partay at HTL right now!!!!!!! Nice buffet, Lori. Then celebrate again on the 29th, Aug 6, Aug 7, Aug 27.....(after all we have to fit the b'days in too!).
Ciao for Niao (as Connie would say!),
Kathy

My two cents on the copyright thing--it may be the use of "HTL". I don't see the pictures as being a problem--they are one-of-a-kind and unique to our thread. People post videos all the time with music, so can't see that as being the problem either. Just my thoughts.....
What a great buffet--I'm stuffed! Filling up my plate again and heading over to the pool. Looks like we're going to keep the "tenders" busy for awhile with all our parties!!
Still miserable hot here but looks like we'll get rain from "Bonnie" in a day or so. Wahine, you're probably going to get some, too!
I did get to see HD's pic before she deleted it--HD, as always, it was great! Don't think anything would ever be too off the wall for the HTL ladies.
Think I'll start counting my steps to fridge and back--I might be walking a half mile a day getting my ML...LOL
Everybody have a great weekend!!!!!

NM...bless your heart. I am proud of you. I know the struggle. I don't know when you are supposed to report to work...but just don't over do and mend up sister! I had to work a while today on a Saturday.....grrr! I need the time though. In regards to my deleted post, it was mostly aimed at Bean, whom also has spent time in the chemistry lab using glass pipettes. LOL! It was mostly demented humor on my part. Kathy, glad your mom's house closing is coming through. What a wicked anxiety all that must have been. It will be nice they are close now all the time. Lori, my first thought on your video violation was music. I don't know. Sorry that happened. How short did you cut your hair? Hope it is easier to style for you. Junie...hope you are sailing smooth at the bed and breakfast. Meet me at the pool and we can talk about the exploding price of rump ribbon! Connie, you are killing us. I was all messed up on who was nippling and who wanted new boobs. So, AStorm & Connie, sorry for the confusion. It doesn't take much to bewilder me though. I am just waiting for the parties. Jaybird....Casinogal...always hoping you are having fun! I think you are. Miss Dee....get your sorry bottom back here. I miss ya! LM (Lady Madonna), Kitty...hope you are not cooked. Happy Saturday Night to all....Hunkydory

Maybe the HTL needs a yacht! eeew or maybe we could just charter one... most of us live near a coast so we could just swing 'er round and pick up at convenient locations.
It's too quiet around here. DD comes home in 2 more weeks... haven't scheduled next exam yet... foob surgery won't happen until early Sept... I'm kind of bored! LOL Guess I'll have to take a little break and enjoy some of these beautiful cocktails with my buds.

I am having such a hard time getting up and going today--probably because I was up for hours in the middle of the night. This whole sleeping a few hours, up for a few hours thing at night is really starting to bug me. I was out and about all day yesterday, should have slept like a log. If I take xanax to help me sleep I'm groggy all the next day, so that's not much help. I suppose I just need to be more patient and things will work out, but it's frustrating all the same.
OK, enough of this, I need to get off my butt and take a walk. A little rain isn't going to hurt me. Then I can come back here and check out the Sunday Brunch Buffet the Tenders and Wenches are preparing. Wonder what the theme is going to be today? Can I put in a request for Ethiopian Ygrachiffa coffee this morning?

I'm not worried about the video. Like I said, I can re-do it if they delete it, I have the project saved on my computer. So if anyone see's that it was deleted, let me know. HD, I just got my hair trimmed/shaped. I haven't had time yet to play with it, since I was cleaning all day yesterday and when I washed it, just let it air dry. So it was just a frizzy curly mess! I slept in this morning (6am) took a sleeping/pain pill last night! Back was hurting a little from all the cleaning. So since I am behind, I am not taking time to look for DOTD.
NM, maybe you did just a tad more than you should have? Hope you are enjoying your Ethiopian.....coffee that is!
Junie, you better git ur umbrella out!
Kathy, what are all the dates? I know Connie's surprise is the 6th, the 27th is obvious....what am I missing?
Wow Astorm, from pary bus to yacht! Darrell always says..."if yer gonna dream, might as well dream BIG!"
Brunch today is on the yacht.
ALL ABOARD!

I'm thinking I probably did do a little too much yesterday. Going to stay home and veg today.
For the DOTD, how about a Sunday Bloody Sunday?
1 bottle (Cold) Beer
2 dashes Salt
6 dashes Tabasco Sauce
4 oz (Cold) Vegetable Juice
1 dash Cayenne Pepper0 -
Oh, Brunch is ready!
And my personal favorite:

Just a quick pop in. I wrote a long post yesterday and then deleted it by mistake so gave up. They are finally going to start work on Tuesday to fix my house so I've been swamped. Also took Liesl and Tully to the vet for annual check ups and they said my beautiful little Liesl has developed a heart murmur - will be taking her for X-rays next week then they said an ultra-sound at the hospital - I've just been so upset....
Sounds like you all are doing great! Goldie - love your hair - you are so lovely. If you ever get tired of the flowing curls there are always flat irons and straighteners , I've used both at times but I think you look gorgeous.
Wahine - congratulations on almost closing - I know your parents will be thrilled!
All the pictures are amazing. N.M. Glad you are doing well, Kitty can't believe you drug yourself out shopping! At least you came back with fab. loot. Anyway, gotta run just wanted to pop in and say hello. Once they start working and my house if full of dirt dust and workmen I'll have more time to check in I hope!!! Cheers.

Good Morning Loungettes!!!
NM, Amazing brunch, thanks for the visuals! And that Bloody looks very interesting....never had one with beer, but WTH....I'm in for one (or a pitcher full....duh!). When you mentioned your probs sleeping, have you thought of trying melatonin before going to bed? My DH takes it, and I have been tempted to. Saw on the drs show that even just getting up one time during the night, throws off your meltatonin production, which plays havoc with everything, and makes you sooooo tired the next day; and they recommended it too. Might be worth a try!
Dr. Rosenthal on tv mentioned this morning how important Fish Oil capsules are....even says it can help prevent bc...so maybe it can also prevent recurrence (?)....anyway I started taking it asap! Can't hurt...supposed to help with so many other things too...and they have the burpless ones.
Lori, LOOOOOOOVE the yacht picture...I am getting on it after the brunch....wooo hoooo fun day on our lake!!! Well, someone else here has a birthday, I "think" it is on the 7th....but won't disclose it....I will let her mention it. More reasons to partay!!!!!
Oh Stanzie, I know your heart is so very heavy right now. Hard to know that your beloved pet is having heart problems, and will need all those tests. Besides all the love she has given you, it is obvious how much you love her, and I was just thinking that no one could have given her a better home, or a better life, than you have. Hoping and praying they can do something so she will not have any pain, and can live many more years! Glad though that the repairs will get started, and hope they do a great job for you. Give Liesl an extra-special hug from all of us here!
Grandkids will be here soon, so better put all the booze away (j/k)! My DD is going to see the cockatiel that the seller of the house we are buying, needs to find a home for. Since we used to hand-raise baby cockatiels and had several cockatiels as well as an Amazon parrot, she knows what a committment it would be. So....brunch was fun....gotta straighten up b4 they get here....THEN I will get on the yacht!!!!!!!
Chairs!

stanzie--I had a dog a long time ago that developed a heart murmur when she got older, turned out that we really didn't need to do anything except make sure she didn't get too much people food with salt. She lived, quite happily if moving a little more slowly, for nearly 5 years after diagnosis. I guess I'm saying that if your Leisl is older, it could be something that come with age and may not be somthing life threatening. But it's hard to go through this process, and you have my sympathy.
waheni--I used to take melatonin, then had to stop before surgery. Turns out I ran out about the time I was supposed to stop taking it, so I don't have any right now. Someone somewhere else on the boards mentioned melatonin a few days ago and I have ordered some that should be delivered this coming week. I also was takig fish oil, but for cholesterol management (I won't take any of the statins) and haven't restarted that. It can interfere with clotting, and the belly incision is bleeding enough when I pull the packing out twice a day. I think I'll leave the fish oil out of the mix for a while longer, but I did see some reports about fish oil and bc, and am hoping I can get a two-for out it. Actually, there's some research indicating melatonin may fight/prevent bc, so that's another one I get a two-for out of.
For anyone whose interested, you can bypass the "fishy burps" from fish oil capsules by taking them with some food or after a meal. That's what I do and it works really well, unless I've eaten somthing that makes me burp!

Oh, I can just smell the ocean from the yacht! Love it!!! Good idea A Storm! And the champagne taste sensational!!! The Mickey shaped pancake is yummy, along with the fresh fruit. I love mango and papaya!
Speaking of tropical places... Lady Madaonna is on her way to Maui soon!!! Lucky girl. What a nice way to celebrate the end of chemo!
Lori - I've had that brain hemmorage drink. It's kind of funky because the Baileys curdles!
I slept well last night until I woke up early this AM to my cat Shakira meowing very loudly in my ear and then she started licking my back, above my tank top! She is a crazy cat. She loves to bug us early in the AM. I'm thinking of bugging her during her afternoon nap. See how she likes it! Although, I won't lick her back! Eww!!! We nicknamed her "Active Fat Kitty" - she loves to run around and play. However, when we pick her up she's like a brick! LOL!!!

NM, Glad to hear you were on the melatonin and fish oil...didn't realize about fish oil interferring with clotting, so am glad you mentioned it. Even tho I am going to take the fish oil with breakfast, I still am using the "burpless" type....when my DH started taking it yrs ago, he may not have had it with food, but I do remember those burps....yuck!!! Thanks for all the hints!
Kitty, OH, I can just imagine you bugging your cat during HER nap...and getting even...LOl! I love her name....I think Shakira is such an amazing entertainer. Thanks for reminding me of LadyMadonna going to Maui...I had forgotten! Hope she has a great time, and it is not too hot.
Time to board the yacht.....ALL ABOARD thats going aboard!!!!

Dear junie and Native Mainer...please forgive my confusion, the hamster that turns the wheel in my brain is moving slow lately...

Lovin the yacht! We were in Laguna Beach with the girls when they were little (3 and 5?) and my eldest picked out a huge, beautiful yacht. My MIL told her she would need to marry a prince. Later, we were shopping and came across a pricey little jewelery store and my MIL asked her which ring her prince should buy her and she chose an enormous pink diamond. We kept designing this prince for her and one day when we were having lunch she said she wanted to live with us forever and we should just get a really big house and all live together when she married her prince. Her dad said that her prince might not want to live with us. She looked cross and swore she wouldn't marry him then! And she would get her own yacht and take me anywhere I want to go, "just us girls". In the meantime, the HTL yacht is a great escape.
Just spoke to my friend who had the biopsy, and she is officially a bc sister. I know she is going to be okay but I am very sad for her right now.

kittykat--picking up a brick kitty reminds me of the beagle my brother used to have--we called him "the tank" because he was so big and heavy that we swore he could go through anything that got in his way! I hope to you do get back at her during one of her naps, and then let us know if it changes her behavior!
beanie--as long as you can claim Chemo Brain, I 'm going to claim Anesthesia Brain. I wouldn't take chemo so I need another excuse for the foggy, failing memory. . .
AStorm--sorry to hear about your friend. When will this club ever stop adding new members?
I love the yacht, and would really like to go for sail to nowhere for a few days. Maybe we can plan a little trip sometime soon.
0 -
Stanzie, glad you popped in and glad to hear that they will start on your home soon. Sorry to hear about Liesl tho and hope things turn out ok. I also hope you get some hot looking construction workers!!!
I have been doing fish oil and melatonin (20mg) for a few years. The melatonin, which I am out of, also helps you sleep, so that one I take at night.
Beans, that is so funny about the scarecrow. You don't know how many times I was referred to that during chemo. By Darrell and myself! ....and your hair is still hanging on?
LadyM, have fantastic time and have a Lava Flow for me please!
Kitty, I saw your post about shopping and was going to mention it here, but when I went back to facebook to find it, I couldn't. That was SOOOOOOOO funny. It was the funniest of all typos I have ever seen! LMAO!
Astorm, cute story about your daughter and the prince and sorry to hear about your friend.
I think we all should have a PINK DIAMOND!

("Gittiup little hamster," I say to my brain)...I did get over to the mountains and it's warm, sunny and glorious!! Whenever I'm here I write bad poetry. I was so inspired by all the good drinks and food at the HTL that I had to write this...
A spirited fem named Clarisse,
On Sunday drank Bloody Mary's,
She sipped many for brunch,
And was happy as punch,
Then went shopping all day in Paris.
(Now if something deserves being deleted, this is it!!!)

ROTFLMAO, Beanie--you are tooooooo funny!
Goldie--great sounding, AND looking drink! If you've found contractors that look like that I've GOT to find a project for my house so I can look and drool, too!
I gave up and took drugs at bedtime last night and actually slept reasonably well. Did get up once to pee and change a leaking dressing, but went right back to sleep. So far today I've washed and hung out sheets, weeded a quarter of the garden, and have a list of stuff I want to do during the rest of the day. Not sure how far I'll get on the list, but at least I'm making progress!
0 -
goldie - what a great drinkie, PINK DIAMOND, I'm definitely up for this one!! It's gorgeous! My hair is still hanging in there and I haven't noticed any more shedding than usual. Still have 5 rounds, so we'll see how it goes. So far my worst SE's are the brain fog, trying to keep plumbing from backing up, teary eyes and sensitive snot membranes, and heart palpitations which could just be from viewing the hunk you posted (tee hee). We had plans to build out here and started in 08 when the market crashed, now if there were any kinda construction workers like that around these parts I'd spring for a new cabin to be built anyway.
NM - For the 14 days of my chemo tx I was taking atavan at night and it really helped me sleep. I haven't been taking anything since last Tues and I wake up everynight to go pee then I have trouble getting back to sleep. I've had a fair amount of anxiety about 5 more rounds, will there be any bean brain left at the end of it? Soooo good to hear your getting out to do the stuff you want! I make a list every day and try to get what I can done.
I'm having a wonderful time in the mountains. It's so quiet and pretty. We have satellite Internet, TV, and radio, a great little shower, a cozy bed and lots of land to walk and hobble/jog on. I went out for 40 min yesterday with 20 of it hobble/jogging. Then my face turned beet red, so with my pasty white Washington legs, cut off blue jeans and hot face I was a patriotic red, white and blue! I'm sorry I have not caught up with everyone, but I've sure enjoyed your posts and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you have a wonderful Monday! ~Beans

Beans, it does NOT deserve to be deleted. Those are the things we LIKE here at The HTL. Glad you are hanging onto your hair scarecrow! .....and having a good time.
NM, I take something for sleep every few days. Just so I don't get addicted and I can get a couple of somewhat good sleep!
Stanzie, I had to laugh when you mentioned about flat iron. I decided to get out all my hair gadgets.....I don't think I am missing ANYTHING!
0 -
wow! No wonder my hair always looks like crap--I have a brush and a hair dryer--and half the time, I don't even mess with either one of them!!!
Bean--sounds like you've got a little piece of heaven there--enjoy it!
Our nearby Indian casino has recently opened a luxury hotel attached to the casino--we've been watching the progress for several years.....well, I've managed to snag us a free room for one night next week; free concert; dinner discounts----LOL--can't imagine how much this "freebie" will end up costing us, but think it will be fun!!! We really like the casino and it will be nice to be able to gamble/drink and not worry over who is going to make the 1 1/2 hour drive back home! Pancho will only have to go to "camp" for one night. Oh--he's finally figured out that camp = vet and being boarded--so, now we tell him he is going to the spa--he'll get a bath and pedicure this trip!!!
I'm watching Oprah interview Octomom--now, if that's not enough to make one drink! Off to grab my bucket from Jocks and relax at the pool!!!!!! huggggsssss to ALL !!!!
