NM, we can have more than one DOTD...the more the merrier!

Kathy, you are soooooo right about where I need to send that scorpion. Think me needs to go hunt down a few more! As for FL, my daughter was the only reason for going, and I was taking my mom with me. I have not seen my daughter since Nov 08. I understand why and how priceline can keep the low prices, but to keep every red cent? I would be willing to pay a cancelation fee, or let me use the car somewhere else???? I could use it in Michigan, but they won't let me do that even. I already had plane tickets, I can't get my money back from those, but I can use the monies for other flights.....I'm ok with that! I did call, got some guy named Rasheesh...what does that tell ya? Stanzie, I will check out Clark Howard, thank you!

Think I have what I need!

Heading out to the cabana.........Yell Kathy! QUIT PEEKING!!!!   LOL

Junie, have FUN! Sent my request to the Gambling Gods for you. DD and A$$HOLE SIL are on their way to MI this morning. So no, she won't be there in Nov. But I am still hoping everything falls apart and they don't go. But knowing him, they will go if all they have is enough for a plane ticket and a few hundred dollars!

Oooo, I'll take one of each!  NM, maybe you wouldn't be so juicy if you'd lay off the cocktails :) I do believe yor drains are working overtime! LOL

The Getty is J Paul Getty Meseum -- it's a huge museum in southern Cal. It started as a smaller museum in Malibu (which I still love) but then they built this huge museum on a hill in L.A. (you take a tram to get to it).  The older, smaller one in Maulibu was renovated and re-opened as "Getty Villa" and focuses on impressionism. The one in LA is more modern. DD's class was supposed to go to the modern one, which everyone calls "The Getty" which is silly since it isn't "the one and only".

Lori, don't they have wine tasting or something to keep you busy in FL? I'd go just to get away from the weinder-dog right about now. He's sitting in front of DD's closed door and whining but she won't be home until Friday evening.

Well, I have to run to the market... making soup for my bc sis who has her lump today. The weiner and I are going to her house while she is in the OR to wear out her puppy so he'll sleep when she gets home this afternoon!

Awwwww shucks Lori, ALRIGHT....I won't peek....sheesh....you are ruining ALL my fun.....LOL. Looks like a good pile of scorpions to send your SIL's direction....they will not hurt your DD...just him!

Junie, The bestest of gambling luck being sent your way!!! Hope you win big, but also have tons of fun!!!

AStorm, THANK YOU for clarifying what "The Getty" was referring to....boy was I way off base!!! Hope your bc sis does ok today. Nice of you to make soup for her! I just made some turkey soup this week...now have to add more broth cause I put too much stuff in it. But we love it, even when it is hot outside.

Waiting for the sellers to call so we can do the final inspection....boy would I like a pitcher of that scorpion drink right now!

Dee, Hope you are doing well, and your mom is okay....and esp hope she is in no pain. Jaybird, CasinoGirl, and others who have been AWOL for awhile...come and join the fun!!!! HunkyD, hope you are not working tooooooooo hard! NM, hang in there with that drain. Beans and Kitty, don't overdo....that chemo stuff is hard on you. Stanzie...hope the construction is moving along quickly and you can move back into the house soon!

    For Connie.... Ciao for Niao!

All of a sudden having the drain for another week or so doesn't seem like such a big deal.  The Wound Nurse was just here, and the belly incision that was 11 inches long is now down to 1 1/2 inches long.  The rest is healed or at least scabbed over.  I was thinking I'd be going back to work at the end of the month with the incision still open, now it should be healed up in a week or so!  Yeah!

Is this a gooe enough reason for a partay???

Congratulations NM!!! I can imagine how thrilled you are with that - and how quickly it started healing once they changed the type of dressing.

I'm waiting for a call from my PSs office for my next surgery date. My noob is a different size and height than my old boob so they are going to fix that - plus a couple of other tiny things (a little lipsuction here a little there). I'm anxious to have it done as soon as possible so that I can finish healing!

I've been thinking in the past couple of weeks about making a brochure, web page or something for people who have just found a lump or been diagnosed - things you wouldn't think of or necessarily find with online research. For example, I had no idea there were surgeons who specialized in this - I went to a general surgeon and he SUCKED! Or that physical therapy could help with scars and lymphedema. So, do any of you have anything that you know now that you wished you knew then?

    Ciao for niao!

Connie - arnica gel for swelling, always drink a lot of water before surgery, if you are getting a wire (to locate biopsy site) plus dye for sentinel node identification, try to get the dye injections before the local from the wire wears off, try to schedule surgery early in the week if you will be waiting for pathology reports so it doesn't ruin your weekend, oh, and after surgery, just go ahead and vomit and get it over with!

Hunky - That is just hilarious - how did you do that?  N.M. YAY to amazing healing!

OK, I have to tell you all about last night! As Kathy knows my 50th birthday is coming up,yikes. Anyway, last night I was totally stunned! The sweet man I have been seeing planned the most amazing surprise party especially as my birthday isn't till this weekend. So, all week I think I'm helping a friend get ready for a luncheon, lent her china and silver which I got up very early yesterday to polish! and helped her figure out how to seat everyone. So last night I think I'm going out to my early birthday dinner just the two of us. He ALWAYS drives and he tells me he has ordered a car which of course means Limo! Then he tells me we are going to dinner with my friend who is having the luncheon and I'm worried she will be stressed going out the night before her party. We get there and she asks me to see how I think it looks and of course there is behind the doors my sister and brother in law from FLA, my cousin, friends I hadn't seen is a long time, my former music teachers...!!! So, yes I helped set up for my own party with no clue at all! It was a beautiful catered dinner by this amazing gormet chef who also served the dinner and it was truely amazing. She even hand picked the blackberries! Everything was local food. The owners of the house have an extensive wine cellar and are quite knowledgable and it is just fabulous all around! They even brought presents!! I think I'm still totally in shock. One big thing I love is my sweet cousin helped me through everything with BC and she lives about 45 min away, he sent the limo to pick her up first and some friends also who met at her house, then picked up the out of town family dropped them off then came to pick us up. I was so touched he was so thoughtful! I have never had a surprise party in my life and didn't know I'd love it like this!!! Anyway, I now hear the sounds of drywall so better go but had to share my most amazing night!

Baawaaawaaaahaahaaaaa.....LMAO! Don't you dare get rid of that HD. Why the heck would I send the hitman to you. I'm sending him to WS (William Shatner) That scorpions stinger is heading in the right direction...........THANKS! Makes me feel a little better!

Connie, that is a great idea. Can't think of anything to ad tho, other than getting a second opinion. I was told my lump was an enlarged lymphnode and not to worry about it. So it was left alone for 8 months, until I could get in for another mamo. So I would say "YES" worry about any lump and have it biopsied. Let us know when you get scheduled to fix them cockeyed boobies. We got have things right!

Astorm, thanks for clearing up The Getty! I will not be going to Florida. My daughter is not there anymore, so no need. Unless you want to go with me and we can do the wine tasting! Love your last bit of advice for Connie. after surgery, just go ahead and vomit and get it over with! Love it!

NM, any reason is a good enough reason to party around here! So I say "HELL YA"!

Oh Stanzie....how absolutely amazing, wonderful and funny at the same time. But where's the pictures??? That is just too off the wall. Helping to set up for your own surprise party and not know it. That was a smart move on your friends part, very creative. That man sounds like a keeper as well.

Junie I sure hope the Gambling Gods were good to you. But if they weren't, I know you had a good time!

We are heading to Phoenix in the morning. We both have doc appts. I just had to do blood work this time WOOOOO HOOOOOOOO...NO TESTS. And I already got the results back for that, and it was good. We won't be home until Sunday, and you gals know I don't usually have time to check in. So if I don't.....Y'all have a great weekend and Happy Happy Birthday to Stanzie. Remember....age is just a number!

So for the Surprise Party, why not have a Cranberry Surprise Cocktail for our DOTD.

    2 oz White Rum

4 oz De Kuyper Cranberry Liqueur

    10 oz Lemonade

    1.5 oz Lemon Juice

    Half of a watermelon

NB. Above ingredients/quantities are sufficient to make 4 cocktails. Scoop out all the flesh of half a fresh watermelon and place in a blender. Add all the other ingredients and blend together well. Strain (to remove watermelon pips) into 4 highball glasses filled with crushed or cubed ice.

    Additional notes:

For extra spice in your Cranberry Surprise cocktail - use a spiced rum such as Sailor Jerry instead of the white rum. To make a big impression when making this cocktail at a party - why not serve it in the remaining half of the watermelon with straws for everyone to share?

    Garnish:

Add a slice of watermelon to the edge of the glass

    Cranberry Surprise

Stanzie, what a great surprise! And what a great man!

Astorm and Goldie - thanks for the tips! Keep them coming.

Ok, since people are heading off for the weekend and I want a rousing party (at least in spirit), here's what I'm celebrating in 2 days.

6 years ago I was laying in the hospital waiting for an operating room to open up (this was in Canada where everything moves differently). On August 6, 2004, they removed the cancer from my colon - I celebrate the day as my UN-cancerversary. I didn't get to celebrate last year as I was dealing with my final chemo treatment and really couldn't think. So this year I want to blow the roof off...6 years without (that) cancer!!!!!

Stanzie, how absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Your friend sure did everything top-notch, and what a wonderful surprise!!! Your cousin that I met was sooooo nice, and such fun, and I think that is who got picked up in a limo also? She deserved that special treatment too! I am so glad you had such an awesome night!!! HAPPY 50th birthday early, but I am sure we will be having a big blowout here at the HTL.

Lori, Perfect drink!!! Have a good time in Phoenix, but check in if you can, to join in for all the parties we will be having.

Connie, GREAT reason to celebrate....definately a big event!!!! Looks like lots of parties....my mom comes tomorrow (5th), your celebration (6th), and Stanzie's birthday (7th I think). Let's blow this place apart!!!

I have been SO stressed. Couldn't wait to do the final inspection late yesterday...and what a disaster. The plush thick white carpets in LR and DR that looked new (but weren't) were totally stained wherever their cherry furniture was...and not in places where we would be putting furniture. The carpet cleaners could not get it out, and seller knew it. Never got thanked for letting them stay in the house for several days after closing, but if I had seen this damage, would not have minded if the deal was off. THEN he would be in a pickle and would have had to do something! As it is, I just asked for 1/3 of what a much cheaper carpet would cost....but he only agreed to half of that, so just getting $500 towards replacing those floor covering....what a jacka$$.  I even thanked them for leaving it so clean (which was nice). AARRGGHHHH.....the attorney told me to NEVER let someone stay in the house after closing....lesson learned. There also were 2 hidden stains in the BR carpets, from furniture, and some other problems. THE FUN THING is, when we were there yesterday, I got to feed about 20 ducks that came up into the courtyard, and when I walked to the waters edge, a blue heron flew up right past me,from the next yard. It is a very nice place, but I hated to deal with such a %#*@!!# seller. His wife was nice, but he was a butt-hole (can I write that?). I know my mom will love it when she sees it tomorrow, and that is the main thing!

PARTY HEARTY....we all need to start practicing for our big party weekend!!!!!

    ChugALug,

Oh, Kathy, what a shame! When we bought this place I knew all the carpets were coming out - they were wool and I'm allergic to wool. Plus, my husband has severe allergies and asthma so we've gone laminate. I love it - except for the puppy prints all over it when it rains! But watching the dogs try to run on it is hilarious!

I'm sure your Mom is going to be thrilled and I look forward to the 3 day partay!

NM - That's a cool diet, fruit salad and popcorn and pizza. I love it! I would add peanuts for "real food" ha, ha. The truth is my favorite breakfast is potato chips and peanuts, but I had to back off on that due to getting chunky thighs and middle. Now I eat healthy cereal crud that has high fiber (boring). I hope the last drain comes out Thurs!!! And with no problems!!!!! That will be a relief!! I'm sure you recall all my whining about one JP for 4 weeks. Then it got infected and I had to go on antiB's for 10 days and that gave me yeasty problems. That darn incision is still having trouble healing. I'm so mad at the surgeon, I think he really screwed up something that should have been fairly straight forward  (the ALND). My oncologist saw me yesterday and she says it looks okay, so I guess it's getting there, but it makes me nervous. All my best wishes to you for an excellent healing up!!!! Gotta say I love your drink choice, the Excitabull!! I'm feeling a little lower energy today so this will be perfect. I also need patience to get through this crapola. And maybe it will help me find a good stock in a bull market!! Now I found you party ballons and I'm all ready to party with you, that is such good news!!! Glad you are healing up so well - yahoo!

HD - So glad you like the saying, it's come in handy many many times...good idea to use it as a password at work. Yah and the Fog Cutter is really needed today as I'm way back into it...I was just starting to feel more normal then oh, boy round # 2. Love the Suess poety, he's one of my all time favs. Hope you are not working too hard and are feeling better. Ohhhh, Geeeaaawwwd, just found your post, pleeeeese don't delete so Lori can see - that's a good one and I'm on the floor laughing now!!! Thanks!!! Please more HD creativy!!

AStorm - Thanks for the well wishes, I need it. I was so nervous to start round 2 I hardly slept two nights before. Now on the stinking sh!t I take an ativan at bedtime and it helps me sleep. Good luck with your sis's lump!!!

Wahine - Oh, how nice and festive of you to have champagne on hand for your mom's arrival. We came back out to the mountains yesterday after my tx to get more sun and heat. It's so nice to be out of the coast fog. It gets hot here in the days up to 85 - 95 then cools way down in the eves, we also have AC for those really hot days, yes, thank God for AC! So far I think the scorpion goes to Shatner, the sorry a@@ SIL, and Nurse Ratchet. Maybe there are more that need it?? Yes, the scorpions are to hit the targets and not hurt anyone else. I think your seller gets a scorpion too. Butt hole works for me. We do have a lot to celebrate this week! I do hope your mom and dad love the place!!

Goldie - Thanks for your well wishes. Hope are things going with you DD and sorry SIL? I was sad to read he's such a problem and I can totally relate with one of my not-even SIL "boyfriends" in the fam that is still married to someone else. It drives me crazy. I hope their bad plans will fall through! Good idea to send the scorpion up Shatner's leg. I had a friend who got ripped off on that site, sorry to hear that went badly for you. I love the drink and would like to send a scorpion to the "Nurse Ratchet" I had for the second part of round 1 in July. The first and third session were with super nice nurses, but the second one, she gets a scorpion up her lab coat!!! All her patients that day were IV patients and there were several old gents ahead of me, she poked one guy 6 times, then next got at least 2 pokes, then she came over to me and said she just couldn't do it. She started screaming at all the patients that they had to get ports. It was an amazing spectacle. Me and all these old guys were just looking at her in amazement. Then she finally called an IV nurse in. All this while she was raving about all her 15 years of experience. Then she started in on my DH that he has to MAKE ME get a port. I love my man, he just calmly told her that decision was up to me. Anyway yesterday went far better! It was a long day though. So glad you got good results and only blood work - hurray! I love the Cranberry Surprise Cocktail - looks fun and healthy, I'm ordering up a batch!! Have a nice trip.

Stanzie - good idea to take goldies problem to Clark Howard. I think he's very helpful. I listen to him on the radio sometimes and also go to his web site when I'm researching things like cell phones...Oh Stanzie, how sweet to get a surprise party, how sweet your family is and I'm so happy your enjoyed it so much, you deserve this so much!!

Junie - have fun fun fun at the casino and I've just sent up a prayer to the gamling god for you to take away a bundle.

Connie - good luck with your noob fix, I so hope it goes super great. I love your idea of helping people who have just been diagnosed. It is such a traumatic time! I know because I'm only about 4 months into this fun time. Funny my General Surgeon was great and I ended up real unhappy with the "Breast Specialist" surgeon. I think the main thing I wished I knew earlier was the Mamos and US don't catch about 20% of bc and for those of us with high rish due to fam hx it could be a good idea to start up a realationship with a memo place that specializes in bc as they are more highly trained to detect it and precursors earlier. The other thing is to get lots of opinions until you are comfortable with your tx plan. And get on BCO to find fantastic people like you who are so helpful. I think I've said this before, but you ladies at the HTL have helped me so much, words cannot describe. That there is all the serious BSh!t to contend with but there's still a life that is FUN!!!  Oh Connie!! That is a fantastic celebration!!! 6 years without colon cancer. Thanks for finally sharing with us, it's a great reason to party soooooo much!!! Hurray , hurray!!

Hugs and much love to you all and the the AWOL ladies too!! ~Beanius Brain

Connie-the thinks I can think of for the newbies: Realize you have time to do some research, make sure you get a consult with a PS who does DIEP surgery even if it means going out of state b/c non-DIEP performing PS's give the wrong info about DIEP, DO NOT AGREE to sentinel node tracer injections without sedation or pain medication no matter what the staff says can or cannot be done. Do not settle for any doctor you do not feel you can talk to or who does not listen to you. Insist on referrals to Physical and Occupational therapy after every procedure. Ask for home health referrals (visiting nurses) after every surgery, especially if it involves a drain. Never go to an appointment alone, or if you must go alone tape record the entire appointment. Get copies of every test, procedure report, operative report, pathology report, doctor's office note, anesthesia records, and the entire hospital record from every admission and procedure. Keep all your receipts for copays, deductibles, etc. Keep track of every mile driven to and from appointments. Keep receipts for every bill for copying records (keep them in 3 ring binders, get 2 or 3 big ones or several small ones. Keep receipts for everything you buy (dressings, special clothing, etc). All this can be deducted on your taxes. Join BCO ASAP. And congratulations on your UN-cancerversary! Celebrate hearty!

Hunky-GREAT graphic! You are sooo clever!

AStorm-Good advice, especially scheduling things early in the week.

Waheni-amazing what not tearing off the tender new tissue twice a day will do isn't it? I'm so sorry you found stains on the carpets of your Mom's new place, but I'm glad she'll be happy with it. I know it's a pain, but carpets and stains can be dealt with. At least they didn't trash the place.

Stanzie-What a wonderful birthday surprise! Sounds like the man you are seeing is a real keeper! Thanks for sharing the totally amazing evening!

Goldie-have an uneventful trip to Phoenix, and drink plenty of water, I hear it can be hot out there this time of year! And I'll take a pitcher of Cranberry Surprise Cocktail to have over by the hammock.

Beanius-the drain won't be coming out tomorrow, the drainage has to be 25 cc or less for 2 days in a row, and yesterday it was 35, and there's already been 20 today. But, the incision is healing a LOT faster than I thought, so I consider myself ahead of the game overall. Next time you go in for chemo, ask how many IV attempts are allowed by policy-it's usually 2 or 3. Then don't let anyone poke you more than that number of times. Or ask for the IV nurse instead. Don't let scorpion nurse every give you a treatment again! She's not stable!

Hello to all the fantastic ladies at the HTL!!  Wow, I don't know how I can keep up with everything going on here... but a big, happy congrats to Stanzie on your fantastic surprise.  So happy for you!

I'm popping in just for a second to read through as I rush out the door... Hawaii was nice but coming back has been a whirlwind!  Laundry, Dr. appointments, radiation...oh, my!!  I'm already three down and 33 to go on the rads- woo-hoo!!

Honestly, one day I'll stick around longer and "chat" with all of you ladies.  Keep waiting for some "spare time" whatever that is.  The kids start back to school on Aug 30th, so maybe then.

Hi Melanie, Glad you stopped in for a quick drink! Your kids are lucky that they don't start school till the end of the month. It starts here on the 9th.......waaaaaay too early! Don't be a stranger!

Beans, Good for you for switching from your potato chip & peanut breakfast! Do you like oatmeal? I've been making it and adding frozen blueberries,1/2 banana, nuts, and choc chips.....YUMMMMMMMMM! It actually is good for you, but tastes decadant. I am sending healing vibes your way so your incision will get totally healed...hang in there!

My computer got infected....something bad as I can't even start it without all sorts of crap popping up...can't even load a new anti-virus as this sh!t took over everything. Hope my DD can figure it out long distance....she has built computers for us, so is my personal "geek squad"...LOL. So I'm sharing my DH's laptop right now...guess I'll have to use the teeny netbook. AARRGGGHHH....I keep saying someday I will download all the pics I have stored on my computer but that day didn't happen. Pants, how about a nice massage to help me forget about that stupid 'puter? And Jocks, can you fix me up a big frosty, icy pitcher of something really, really strong???  So nice to have the tattie tenders at our beck and call.

Stay cool gals..hot here like some of you are also experiencing...when will these 101 temps end?????

    Hot, Hot, Hot....

    Ewww... those scorpions are nasty!!!

Speaking of nasty - I'm finally starting to feel a bit normal after my last and nasty AC infusion last week.  Ughhh...  I'm beginning to run out of foods to eat.  I got a Lean Sobe today to drink and it was pretty tasty. Diet Sierra Mist is pretty good, too.  I can't wait until I can drink and eat again (notice I put "drink" first - LOL)!!!

That fog cutter looks pretty yummy,  Can I have that instead of chemo?

You all crack me up!  I love reading all of your posts!

    Hi fellow lounge ladies!

My mom got here safe and sound this morning...she always looks like she just got ready to go out, after an overnight flight even. I end up looking like I was put through the wringer and hung up wet! Don't know how she does it. Anyhow, wanted to let you know she LOVES her new lake house!!! YAY! And she agrees that hardwood floors would look good, so I can go ahead with that...and NYAH NYAH NYAH NAYH NAYH to the seller with his stained carpets!!!! We can rip them out. I know my dad is counting the days, hours, minutes till she returns to Hawaii. But we're going to enjoy having her here!

Kitty, glad you are feeling better! I love those SOBE drinks too....we have tons of the 0 cal ones on hand, and a few of the Pina Colada ones. Till you can drink the "good stuff" I guess we'll just have to drink double for you (owww......don't have to twist my arm that hard!).

BIG PARTAY TONIGHT.....gotta get the Tattie Tenders and Wenches working on it. I know they will come up with something good for tonight, tomorrow night, and the rest of the weekend. Party like its 1999!

Wow, I can't believe all my typos I made yesterday. I'll have to spell check better. I knew I was tired, but wow! We had gotten up at 4 am to drive to Seattle for chemo fun on Tues. It's usually 2.5 hrs if DH drives, but I was trying to get really hydrated so we had to stop at every rest stop on the way. Then there was a huge back up into Seattle that took an extra hour...then the onco ward was log jammed with patients so we were there for another 3 hours...then we decided to drive back to the mountains. We took a most beautiful scenic route called the North Cascades Highway. OMG it was gorgeous beyond belief. You get soooooo high you are almost touching the craggy mountain tops where there is still a lot of snow. It was about 9 pm by the time we got home. So we unpacked, took showers, baked a frozen pizza, (which I followed with prunes and Metamucil, of course.) Then we crashed. Yesterday the steroids were wearing off as I was writing and I crashed again for about 2 hours. I was pretty draggy yesterday, but did get a 40 min walk in after my long nap. I think I'm feeling a little spunkier today. I took my zofran and cytoxan and now I'm punching down a gallon of diluted crystal light as it's one of the only fluids I've found I can get a lot of down quickly to flush the cytoxan. Water gets too boring, juice is too sweet, Gatorade makes me sick, I haven't found anything better so far, and even it sucks. I'm looking forward to the DOTD cause that will undoubtedly hit the spot! Sorry in advance for spacy writing and typos...I'm afraid it'll be that way for a while.

Here are a few photos (not that I took) of the scenic highway...

Wow Beans, just WOW!! What amazing scenery. I'm glad you took that scenic route, after such a long exasperating day. Sorry it is so hard to find stuff to drink....have you tried the SOBE flavored water drinks that Kitty mentioned she likes? The O calorie ones are all good, and the Pina Colada is really good, but caloric, plus would prob taste too sweet for you right now. Save that one till you can puts some rum in it. Thanks for sharing those gorgeous pictures! It is so hot here, and elsewhere, that the snow and mountains look soooooooo inviting!

NM - I'm sorry the drain isn't coming out today, but so glad you are healing fast. That is such good news. I like your advice about finding out the IV policy. My tactic now is to go to the lab and ask them to put in the IV when they draw blood. They won't do it, but they call for an IV nurse to do it. This seemed to work well. They asked me why and I said that scorpion nurse told me she couldn't place an IV. So it gets me away from that B and to someone who can do it. The nurse on Tues was so nice, got the IV in just fine and hardly left a mark and no bruise. It can be done this way without a port. The chemo I'm getting isn't that hard on veins, it's two syringe pushes that should take only about 30 min. including the premeds which are just zofran and some steroids, then they flush with saline. I have a total of 9 more infusions. My mom had this same treatment for a year by IV so I know it can be done...I don't do well with surgeries so I didn't want a port. My instinct is that it would have given me way more problems. So I just had to trust my gut on that option.

Lady M - Good to hear from you and you're getting the rads going. Congratualtions on that I hope it goes by fast and with no problems. Good luck getting the kids back to school too!

Wahine - I love the idea of oatmeal, but it's just boring so I don't eat it much. I've tried adding raisins which helps. Your receipe sounds good so I might try it with all those goodies. I have to go to the store today so I can pick up blueberries, bananas and choc chips. I'll have to hide the choc because my DH is a chocoholic and he'll eat them all at one sitting! No kidding, he just loves chocolate. So sorry your computer got infected. I can't remember if I mentioned that my laptop died and I had to buy a new one. It was a hassle getting everything going again. I'm so glad your mom got there safely and she loves the house - that is fantastic news!! Let's get ready for all the parties!!

Kittycat - glad to hear you're feeling better. I'll have to try some of those drinks, it's a real problem to find good drinks lately...

Cheeeers to all you lounge ladies and have a great day!!!!!

wahine - I'll add Sobe to my shopping list. Thanks to you and kitty for the suggestions. I hope you stay cool over there. It does get warm here, but then the temps drop to 50's at night. It's so nice to be back here. Just wish we had a regular cabin, but even as it is we have such a nice time. I have to stay out of the sun for the most part, but I've snuck in a little sun and have just the faintest, faintest little bit of color on my legs.

    Stay coooool and LET'S PARTY!!

welllll--the gamblin god was on vacation!    But, the fun god was out and about and we enjoyed our little casino jaunt.   Think we may have been the first people to stay in the room we had at their new hotel (room was gorgeous--better than a lot we've stayed in Vegas, etc).  Hope we get future offers for "free" rooms--how crazy is THAT--they for sure know we're gonna spend a bunch more than what that room would cost!!!

Much to catch up on in the lounge........Kathy, glad your mom arrived safely and loves her new home.   Know you've had a rough time with all the hoop-la but sounds like it is all falling into place!   Stanzie, what a lovely surprise birthday party--you will have fond memories of that one for years to come!    Connie---what a wonderful event to be celebrating--enjoy!   (Actually, I was hoping your big announcement would be that you'd won powerball and sharing it with us!!!   LOL)   HD--wonderful, spot-on graphic--as usual!   Your talents are being wasted in your 9 - 5 hum drum!!!!    Lori--if those kids do end up in St Thomas--I want their address!!!!!  j/k.     Bean--lovely pics--I visited the PNW several years ago and the scenery was jaw-dropping beautiful!!!  Our new favorite Merlot is a Red Diamond label from Washington state.   NM, Kitty, AStorm--lots of milestones to celebrate------Big hugggssssss to ALL!!!!!

We got some much needed rain today--cooled off to just under 100 and the humidity takes your breath away--such strange weather.......

Jocks is waving at me--my bucket o'beer is iced down and ready to go.    Heading out to the pool.   Think I'll take a quick dip; have a massage and pedicure; veg in the banana hammock for a little while--then, I'm ready to P A R T A Y !!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has had a Thunderous Thursday and, WOW--tommorrow is TGIF!!!!   Time flies when you're having fun!    I'll leave some buckets of ML on the bar for tomorrow in case no one is around to post a DOTD!!!!

Wahine--so sorry your computer got infected.  That is jus the pits--I've had to go in and clean out those pesky thing that try to take over on occasion and it's a tedious process.  Good thing you've got your own private geek squad!Having your Mom visit is going to be wonderful, especially since you get to rip out stained carpets and put in pretty hardwood floors!  Yeay for you!

Beanie--the pics are GREAT!  What a beautiful drive!  All the delays must have been annoying, to say the least.  Good for you for finding a way to minimize sticks and get lab and the IV done at the same time!  Hopefully someone there will get the message about the B and either get her trained properly or assigned somewhere where she can't do any more damage to vulnerable patients.  And the blueberry martini sounds wonderful!  I'm going to have 2 to celebrate-they took the last drain out yesterday after all!  I've even got some fresh blueberris I can drop into my glass. And what typos?  I didn't notice any typos.

Junie--Sounds like the gabling vacay was a hit!  As far as I'm concerned, when I go to Vegas or someplace like that I set aside a certain amount of money for the slots and a game of roulette. and consider it entertainment costs.  I don't expect to win anything, and am pleasantly surprised when I count up my winnings at the end of the trip and discover that I've usually broken even.  Once I even came home $300 ahead!  Not bad on penny slots and one game of $1 roulette!

My appointment with the PS went great yesterday.  The drain was taken out after all!  No breast revisions needed, no abdominal incision revisions needed, everything healing beautifully, got an abdominal binder to help with the backache, don't go back to Boston until spring!  Thought I'd be totally wiped out today but I'm not.  I'm tired, but not wiped.  Now I'm going to take my blueberry martini to the pool, see whose there to gossip and partay with, and enjoy myself today!
