I just had my last infusion yesterday and one of my girlfriends is planning a happy hour at the Palace on the patio in Durango, CO on the 14th of Sept. if any of you can make it.  I told her I wasn't done yet that I still had radiation and she said, "Great! will party when you're done with that too."  Gotta love it!

Starting my replies from back on page 311, you ladies have probably forgotten already what happened back there! LOL!!!

Well, our dinner with the kids was canceled! Just as well, as we were afraid of what might happen. We did suggest getting food and having a picnic instead.....getting out of going to a public restaurant!

Ooooo Stanzie....white water rafting....YOU GO GIRL! Glad you had fun. My ex and kids went years ago, I stayed back due to back problems. In the spring the water rushes MUCH more! Sorry about that broken water pipe, but at least it wasn't in your house! Just read your mouse story, and then there was the hose issue, and bathing in the hot tub.... sorry but I am laughing. Please forgive me!

Ha ha Junie....give the g-kids a hug? They will hardly come near us. Only got to see them that one night, for about an hour. Jimmy said he just wanted us to leave and go home (he was mad, because his other g-ma was giving him a time out after the ping pong incident) and Melody really doesn't know us. Loved your rafting and horseback riding stories. Glad you were ok from the raft tragedy. I had similar instance horse back riding in the Rockies. Trail just like you said, but the person behind me kept aggravating my horse (on purpose) and would rare up! Talk about scared shitless! Horses name was DB, I called it Damned Bastard! Now...am I really reading what I think I'm reading....you WANT rain? Are you kidding me??? LMAO!

NM, thank you for the DOTD and the finger foods LMAO! Love the pic of you and Sadie jumping in the pool...cute!

Chrissy, sorry for your rough day. I look like that cat every morning!

Claire, hello and welcome. You can have as much wine here as you want, but you must have fun!  20 miles on your bike and you say you have a lazy hide? I think we may all gang up on you! I don't think any of us COME CLOSE to doing anything like that!

HD, you get out every once in a while, but it seems it's always to the hospital! OMG, too funny about Astorm humping someone's leg...ROTF! Love it!

Jaybird, missing my b-day is no big deal...but it looks like you missed a GREAT party!

Kittycat, wow 14 hours of sleep? You wouldn't have done it if your body didn't need it. Hope you felt pretty good after that. As for the red wine, drinking it when it wouldn't taste good and ruining red wine for you.....well that happened to Jaybird (in a sense) remember the passenger that was drinking the red wine, and I believe got sick. Jaybird, have you had any red wine yet!

KimNM, welcome! Now we have 2 Kim's in NM......oh no! Ooops that's MN, sorry Kim! But yes, we do get a bit crazy around here. LOL, had to laugh at your leak with the blood cells...that was a good one. (but sorry you had to postpone the chemo L Great come back on the "Funking Drink" love it! You fit right in here with us!

Beanies, don't be so worried about catching up....just make sure you "keep up"! And keep yourself healthy while doing your treats.

Kathy, OH NO! I hope as I continue to read and write, I learn that you get your leak fixed before having to leave. (crossing my fingers) CRAP, crossing fingers didn't work! Kathy, can you sue? I am not one for doing something like that, but this is some serious damage. I am so sorry, and right before your vacay. Have a wonderful time....I think you are leaving tomorrow? Did you get packed? lol

Astorm, I keep a spray bottle of bleach under my kitchen sink (enough said?)

Holy Cow, another member! Welcome doggylover! This place is a hoppin!

Ok....whew, finally done! Took over an hour! Just took our house guest to the little airport in town. She is flying to Phoenix and then on to CA and will leave Cali tomorrow to go back to Taiwan. We really enjoyed her visit.

HD, I hope you are doing well, Astorm and Stanzie wishing you both well too. This bus shore is crowded! So good to be back!

Cheers girls!!!  I had a half of a margarita last night and got a headache.  I don't know if it was from the margarita or maybe allergies!  Oh well, my liver probably doesn't need to be processing Taxol and Tequila at the same time!  It tasted good, though!

LEAKS LEAKS AND MORE LEAKS!!!  What are we going to do???  I forgot to ask my DH if he checked the side yard.  We don't need our water bill to be any higher than it is already!  I hope everyone else is doing okay with the leaks!  Yikes!!!

Waheni--I have a room air conditioner in the bedroom, it is currently running 24/7 and will until this weather breaks, probably tomorrow or Sat when Earl get close enough to push the stalled High into moving on.  I bought it during a similar heat wave several years ago.  I've used it a day hear and a day there since then, until this summer.  I wouldn't have gotten through recon recovery without it!  Being able to sleep makes a huge difference in how much I can handle during the day.

    Congratulations, doggylover! Time to CELEBRATE!

Welcome back, goldie!  It does take time to catch up, doesn't it!

I'm going to mix up a batch of Peach Tea Cooler to leave in the fridge to have when I get home from work tongiht

    3 oz Peach Schnapps
    9 oz Iced Tea Tea

NM - That pitcher of Peach Tree Cooler looks so delicious. I have to drink at least a gallon o fluids a day so will start with that!! Hope things cool down for you!

I had such a long day yesterday. Got up at 4, on the road by 5:30, Seattle by 8:30. Then I was there till noon, then grabbed some delicious peroshkis! None of the nurses had any sense of humor yesterday...I was using all my best jokes and nothing. Really boring and I got poked 4 times trying to start the IV. Then my only seious request was when they asked if I wanted anything I said I'd like some Quervo Gold to go in my apple juice...they thought I was kidding...Quervo and Chemo...what could be better? Mui bueno. But no I only got apple juice and ice chips. Then the drive home was long, we didn't get to the mountains till 7 pm and it rained the entire day, even is raining in the mountains, and cooool. So kinda tired 2day. And I look like I've been drinking a lot of Quervo and a lotta Peach Tree Coolers since my face is bright red from the steroids. Too much fun!!

So on Sept 14 after this 14 days of cytocrap and one more MuFu infusion I'll be half way thru chemo, yahoo!

kittycat - glad you gave the margharita the old college try! I can't enjoy wine on this chemo either, in between a got a few glasses toward the end that were pretty good. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks...

goldie - glad you are back and I'm still behind...and I've forgotten everything else...Scarecrow syndrome.

AStorm - I love you new avatar, that is so cute!! I got a new one to reflect my sitting in the car for so many hours with DH driving. Me passing out all the time. Great travel companion!!

doggylover - big congrats on you last infusion!! after chemo with quervo I'm getting rads too, more reasons to party!

HD and all the others having surg, chemo, procedures, whatever, you have my best wishes for an easy time and less than 4 pokes and no dates or short dates with JP!

    Hi to the new folks!!

My prayers are with you each and every day. Big hugs and much love and just remember: I have chemo brain, what's your excuse?

Beanius - if you couldn't get them to laugh then no they really didn't have a sense of humor which boy that is the kind of place humor should be truely appreciated. Sorry it was so rough. Love your new picture. I so want to figure out how to do this.....

     Heather, gorgeous picture!!!!

Goldie - glad you got out of the public dinner.

So much to catch up on and i'm with Goldie this place is the popular place to be - how very exciting and glad to have more lovely women!  Ok what am I missing about AStorm and the bottle of bleach?

I finally have water ! I found a company who came and took my one drapery panel away for cleaning and de-smelling! Boy is it ever expensive! I've now closed off the room! The guy told me about getting some curtains once from the family of an eldery couple who had recently died. When they started to clean the curtains they found 250 thousand dollars sews into the lining of the curtains! Those kids were awfully happy they had the cleaned with an honest company and didn't decided just to thow the curtains away!

Anyway, Happy Wednesday - it is cooler here in the south which is so nice!!

Actually, I did get my chemo team laughing.  I took the view that I was there to get my butt kicking, so made sure I asked them for the "next installment".

I was working out the whole time, so was much more buff than they were.  I made sure I reminded them of that.

Then I would come in with pictures of places I had been cycling or skiing.  Of course, they hadn't been doing any of this.  This included the time I was stranded with my friend Amanda with a flat tire and we were rescued by two guys on motorcycles.

All the while, I was dreaming of when I could drink wine again.

Great that you kept up your workouts!! Congrats on being through with so much and onto life. Let's party and have some wine.

AStorm - you doing a surg today?? Thinking of you with all best wishes.

    HD - you too!

Why do elephants wear pink tennis shoes?

Because the white ones get dirty too fast.

Why do elephants float down the river on their backs?

So they won't get their tennis shoes wet, of course.

    Why are elephants colored gray?

So you can tell them from canaries.

How can you tell an elephant from a grape?

      A grape is purple.

If you are colorblind, then how can you tell an elephant from a grape?

Jump around on it for a while and if you don't get any wine then you know it's an elephant.

Okay, how bout drinking anyway?? I'm ready. Cheeeers!!

    Cheers Ladies!

Can't keep up with all of you anymore, am too busy working! No easy money in my curtains!  I wash everything, even if it says "dry clean" and I rarely ruin anything.

My new toilet in my new bathroom is leaking. I shut off the valve last week but haven't had the time to really figure out if if I can figure it out myself or if I need help fixing it. Someone want to borrow Avery for a week or two so that I can get some things done around here? I'm kind of looking forward to her being in kindergarten full-time next year as opposed to her 2 1/2 hours/day pre-school schedule. Maybe, just maybe, I'll have more free time to do things around here? That is, when I'm not busy working!

No other water issues around here lately, but I'm sure Fall will present more flooding issues soon enough. I have to work all this weekend (everyone have at least ONE drink for me!) and hope that I can get to work on Friday because there are hurricanes happening on the east coast.

Enjoying a $10 petite syrah I got from Trader Joe's. Not too bad!

    Cheers!

NM...that pitcher looks so refreshing and I still have some fresh peaches to add to it. I hope that there was one for each of us!

Beans...I am so sorry you couldn't get any Quervo with AJ. Guess you'll have to smuggle your own in next time! Almost half way done..doesn't that sound good??? Sounds like a reason for a party, if ya ask me!

Stanzie...I'm not so sure I'm buying that story from the cleaning people. I suppose it could be true, but I think they're pullin your leg. I mean, come on.....can you imagine how much space 250 thousand would take up??? But glad you have water and don't have to go shower in the hot tub with the hose. As for the bleach...Astorm was talking about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Food Born Illnesses (FBI) you'll have to go back a few pages to get the low down! And she doesn't have bleach...I do.

I'll have some of what Beans is having!!!! lmao

Got a message from HD, and she is doing HunkyDory! Just sore, getting over some stressed issues and still out of it..... but NO BAD NEWS. Another reason for some celebration! Having our Tattie Tenders get the perco fountain out. I think we might have a few dipping into it!

    BARMEN!

Oooo oooooo......forgot. Y'all know how much I love my son in law (NOT) Well he has been in hospital for the last 5 days. No insurance, no job, IV's, they had to do a blood transfusion, etc. I ask my daughter how they plan to pay for it. She says I don't think it will be a problem, when they admitted him, they only asked for his SS # and address. He gave bogus info on both! Gave old address, and turned 2 numbers around on his SS#. I would so LOVE to call the hospital and let them know, but I'm afraid my daughter might find out, and then not have anything to do with me, or she might get in trouble as well.

    Open for suggestions!

Do you know why elephants wear springs on their feet?

...so they can jump in the trees and mate with the monkeys.

Do you know the worst sound a monkey can hear??

    ....S P R O I N N G G G G !!!!!!

Jocks--bring that Beanie girl a pitcher of anything and everything----and bring me several dog beers!    We did get some wind/rain today but maybe not enough to test the roof out--just enough to prob make tomorrow really miserably humid!

Hope someone has kept the "tenders" busy stocking up the bus (sorry, AStorm--looks like its been hi-jacked again!!!)

Kathy, Jaybird--safe travels; Lori--welcome home!!!    Big hugggsssss to ALL!!!!

Oh my gosh the son in law is so going to get caught without your help! He is truely too much - I'm so sorry for you and your daughter....

     OK, I adore Elephant jokes:

How can you tell an elephant has been in your refridgerator?

He leaves his footprints in the butter!

Why did the elephant paint his toenails red?

    Jaybird, sorry about your leak....

Goldie, I'm so terrible with numbers perhaps it was 25 hundred? I really am awful with numbers being hundreds, thousands and such so.....

I also can't tell house square feet I never can remember if they are hundreds or thousands.... oK should go to sleep.....

So he can hide in the strawberry patch.

What is the difference between an elephant and peanut butter?

Peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Leaks and now hurricanes!  What's with the water theme???  maybe we should all go meet out by the waterfall and drink a hurricane????  Good luck to all of you near the hurricane's path!

Stanzie - thanks.  this was my old hair.  I took the pic for my 20 year reunion.  Orignally it was taken in the day time, but I looked all wrinkled!  The night and flash kind of smoothed out the crows feet!  LOL!!!

Lori - your SIL should go to jail after doing that in the hospital - do not pass Go, do not collect $200!  What a loser!!!

Beanius - I hope you got your tequila and apple juice.  I got an apple juice today in chemo, too.

My husband and I were in rare form at the onco's office today.  The nurse said "Ok you guys, take off everything from the waist up and put on this paper vest."  We looked at each other and thought about me and my DH taking off our shirts and putting on the paper vest (but there was only one).  We told my onco when she came into the room and she laughed hysterically.  I guess we are known as "The Team" when we go in there.  At least we make them laugh.  I said "No Benadryl" to the chemo nurses and they told me I sounded like a broken record!  Oh well!  I don't want that nasty stuff, esp since I'm allergic to it!!!

Well, folks, looks like Earl is going to provide me with "dangerous winds" and "significant rainfall."  Now, we need the rain, that's no problem.  "Dangerous winds" I could do without, but since I know it's coming, I know the power will be out part of Friday and most or all of Saturday most likely, so I can plan.  Going to be an interesting trip to the grocery store this afternoon--EVERYONE will be there doing the same thing!  If I get everything ready for a long power outage Earl will turn more easterly and miss us altogether, that's the way it usually goes.  But just in case, if I disappear for a few days, I'm too high up for flooding problems, have dealt with wind before, and am quite comfortable, enjoying the break in the heat and humidity, and playing with Sadie.

Kittykat--your allergy to Benadryl should be marked on your record--have the nurses show that to you next time you are in.  If it isn't there, make them put it in the record RIGHT THEN AND THERE.  There is no excuse for giving someone something they are allergic to!

Stanzie--glad you found someone to clean the drapes.  Too bad you won't find lots of money, too! And HOORAY for getting water back!

Goldie--The pic was representative--I made sure the Tenders had enough supplies and pitchers on hand for each one of us to have at least 3 pitchers at all times--one to drink, one being superchilled, and one being mixed!  And knowing how hospitals work, your SIL will get caught out, by his birthday or phone number.  If he has a PCP it will get picked up when the hospital sends a report to his doc.  If not, it will get picked up next time he comes in and he gives yet a different SSN.  This isn't anything new or surprising for hospitals these days, sad to say.

I think the Chocolate Hurricane is an appropriate DOTD

    1 oz Chocolate Liqueur
    1 oz Coconut Rum
    1 splash Lemon Juice
    1 oz Orange Juice

I so hope he gets caught. Remember, they just got to MI from FL. The phone belongs to the little boy where they are staying and my daughter is the nanny. They were given the ok to just call for biopsy report....so I doubt he will be back in the hospital.

NM, batten down girl and hang on! Hope Earl doesn't hit you too bad and you can just enjoy the cooler weather.

Junie, sorry to hear about the FUSTERCLUCK. Had to laugh at the word, not your problems. And I so hope your roof doesn't leak.

Stanzie, I think your numbers story is funnier than the elephant jokes! I'll give you my 25 hundred for your 25 thousand! Money mouth

Beans and Heather, I hope you both are doing well with your chemo treatments. Heather, is the taxol still being kinder to you?

Kathy, I hope you made it safely and will enjoy every minute in OZ!

Another DOTD and very appropriate FLASH FLOOD

    1 shot Tequila Blanco Tequila
1 shot Snapple Elements "Rain" Juice

Take one shot of ice cold Tequila Blanco and pour into shooter. Add one shot of chilled Snapple Elements "Rain" to shooter. Down shooter, slam, and be ready to be hit by a flash flood.

Wow Jaybird, another leak...seems to be an epidemic...we had a leak outside our RV but it was just a loose fitting so easy fix. There ain't no money in my curtains either, darn the luck. I hate toilet leaks, sometimes they are real easy to fix and other times you have to buy a new kit for the inside. Good luck with that and with finding time for everything. Man, I don't even have kids and I never have time for everything. I'll be glad to pick up a few drinks for you and Petite Syrah sounds just great. I love Trader Joes but there are so few of them around. Sometimes I get to one in Olympia that's just off the freeway. They don't have any east of the cascades that I know of...I used to go there all the time before I dropped out of society. Cheers to you!

Goldie - good idea to smuggle my quervo next time, maybe it would help me come up with better jokes too! Yes, almost half way done. Still have my hair. My oncologist says about ¼ of her patients on this regime lose their hair by this point, so it's still looking like I might keep most of it. I have three more months and a total of 7 more MF's and a buncha cytoxan pills to go. So far so good, I could complain, but really I'm doing okay. I got out for my jog again, I'm up to 35 min again plus some walking so that makes me really happy. I hope I can keep it up through all this. I get so tired sometimes, like yesterday, I just crashed for about an hour and a half. Then I felt pretty good the rest of the night. I would love a half way party right around wahine's BD!!! Now, if it wasn't AStorm with the bleach, but it was you, what happened??? So so so so glad HD is doing okay!! Another reason to party. Hope the same is true for AStorm. Oh, that SIL sounds like a bad boy. Sounds like you're in a pickle with what to do. When I'm in a pickle I sit and fret and drink more wine. That's probably not the answer you're looking for, so I would add. I sit and fret and drink wine and pray my daughter's eyes open and she makes a change. Oye vey. I think I'll second kittycat's words, he should go to jail, what a loser! Yah, and like what NM said, I hope he gets caught. BTW the flash flood looks totally cool, me like me like, ready to be hit be a flash flood. And I love the sweet pinky sock monkey for HD, that is so soft and nice looking for her. (Hope the elephant doesn't s p r o i n g on this baby, oh how sick.)

Junie - I love your elephant jokes!!! Tee hee tee hee! And the pitcher of anything and everything is great!! And me wishes many more dog beers to you and maybe a few less fusterclucks. S P R O I N N G G G G G!

Stanzie - good elephant jokes!!! LOL, 2500, 25000, 250000, who cares, it's cool there was money there and I wish there was some in my curtains.

Kittycat - after all the apple juice with chemo do you think we'll ever want apple juice again? I mean later??? You sound so good and glad you two can get a laugh out of all the goofy things that go on in chemoland.

NM - Glad to hear you're getting ready for Earl in advance, hope it doesn't cause too many problems for you. If you disappear for a few days I'll be hoping you're okay and having a blast with Sadie. The Chocolate Hurricane looks like a great DOTD, Many thanks, I'm grabbing two for now and will be back later for more!!

Thanks for all the well wishes.  That little monkey looks a lot cuter than I feel Lori.  Welcome doggylover and to your end-o-trts!  Hiya Jaybird....It will be nice for ya when Avery goes for a little longer each day.  She will like it too I'll bet.  We have no Trader Joes here....just Costco.  Enjoy your petite syrah.  Fustercluck....I like that Junie.  I have been in one of those the last couple days.  AStorm....hope you are doing well today.  Ouch.  I know the pain sistah!  Lori....your SIL needs to have is ass chewed.  I can't believe your daughter even told you.  I would have been too embarassed to tell my mom if DH pulled something like that.  Stanzie, good luck on your areolas & beams tomorrow.  I am not even going to go in to all the leaks I have been reading about.  I barely caught up with the elephant jokes and how much money is behind curtain number 1.  NM....sounds like you are back to work.  How does that feel?  Bean....AJ & Tekillya?.......whoa!  Sounds um.....like I want to puke.  LOL!  Kitty, keep up the good work too.  You and Bean will be done before long and then off to the tanning salon!  ICK!  I did hate that too for some reason.  Sorry DoggieLover...I know you have it ahead too.  Kathy, when do you leave?  I hope you can put your water world behind you and have a good time.  Claire,  you certainly are getting enough exersise.  Holy crap.  Speaking of..I better take another Senokot now.  Connie...how are you doing?  I am sorry, I got behind on all these posts and I can't get up.  It is terrible.  Take care!  HD

HD - I can't believe feeling terrible you wrote such a great involved post. I'm so having trouble keeping up with everyone I think it might be the stress.Hope you feel better soon

Making progress - plumber back and fixed other faucets even my gas fireplace - so now my house won't explode with the gas leak! , painters coming soon and my huge pecan tree in the back lost huge limbs - no reason other than old age. This neighborhood was built in the 20's and all the trees - becautiful old hardwoods are all now getting old and dying. But surely at some point I will have caught up with all that was falling apart on my house, yes?

AStorm hope it is true for you hair and that you won't lose more, Kitty - hilarious with the gown strips. Next time you will have to just dig in drawers for another one. They must love having patients with humor as it has to be a gloomy job.

NM - hope being overly prepared does spare you from the storm. Very scary stuff and so hard without our comforts of water, electricity and such. Down here if there is even talk of snow flurries everyone goes inscane and empties the grocery stores of all bread, milk, water, logs everything! Then if the flurries actually happen then they all drive like they are nuts and eveyone runs into each other - just grand fun. My sister live in the Keys so I know how the threat of hurrricains are and how you can just be as prepared as you can. When is it supposed to hit your area?

All of you going through chemo - my thoughts and best wishes go out to you all! I'm so in awe of all your strenght but I also know you have to do what you have to do and just get through it - bottom line and don't get to make more plesant choices which isn't fair. Anyway, look forward to hearing and celebrating the end of chemo and treatments for all! Then continued long good health. Boy doesn't the old saying if you have your health you have everything - sure does mean a lot more now.

I love and adore this thread and love "talking with everyone" also all the HLT and drinks and all . You know we WILL all have to meet up somewhere lovely with actual Pants and Jocks and all and just spend however long - 1, 2, 5 days laughing and laughing and laughing.

OK, now to make sure all the window's are closed so the pressure washing doesn't come IN the house - No more Water in unwanted places!

Beanie - thanks for the flowers... and the joke (LOL). Sounds like you're having a heck of a week too. I was up at 4 yesterday to get to the hopsital by 6:30 and didn't learn until 8:30 that my surgery had been pushed to 9:30. No one called us. I warned the nurse that my veins are small and they move but she thought they looked fine. When it became obvious that it wasn't fine she said she had to start over and I shared my new IV rule with her: you only get one jab. She said the nurses have many years of experience and most of the anesthesiologists are really young (!). He looked like he was 18 but he gave me a painless IV the first time. Came home last night instead of staying at the surgical center because I was feeling great with no pain meds but after a treacherous ride home I was hurtin. My back is so sore I just want to sleep. Apparently zopidem has no effect on me as I did not sleep last night... whine wimper...

Hunkydory - hope you are feeling better real soon. Let's hit the percotini fountain!

Beans....nice flowers.  You have just been full of jokes this week.  I am in agreement now about the old saying "better living through chemistry"!  I have been asleep most of the day.  Now I am going to stumble around and look for that percotini fountain.  I wish they wouldn't put it away so often.  I need to see if AStorm is out there or asleep.  Hey, another fun thing to do in hospital is to agree to let college students try to replace blown iv's.  I had one try 3 times and then her supervisor finally took over.  I did tell her I didn't mind looking like a crack whore at the end and that seemed to ease her up a bit.  She was pretty upset about it before that. LOL!   Good afternoon all.  HD
