Or the real recipe for that oft-touted tonic, Fukitol!!!

BTW - I got a Mayo Clinic water bottle at the LIVESTRONG event here in Seattle.  Not the right size for anything, but looks like it would make a great cocktail shaker.  Doubt they would go for this type of "advertisement" though.

Ladies, after our ovaries shut down (due to age, medication or because they're yanked out) our bodies still make estrogen.  Aromatase is an enzyme that converts cholesterol to estrogren in our fat cells.  The aromatase inhibitors (Arimidex, Femara, I forget the others) block the action of that enzyme, depriving any stray bc cells of the estrogen they need to multiply.  Tamoxifen works by attaching to the estrogen receptor in  bc cells (and other body tissues) but doesn't trigger cell growth.  So, if we have ER+ bc, the medical community wants to starve them of estrogen one way or another, so we will likely be asked to take tamoxifen before menopause, and one of the AIs after menopause (natural or unnatural).

Love the percotini recipe!  Wish I wasn't allergic to percocet, but maybe here in the lounge I won't have any of the fun reactions?  Wheezing, rashes, itching and throwing up is NOT my idea of a good way to reduce pain.

NM - Thank you I have tried to understand what the Aromatase does exactly and yours if the first definition that makes sense. I was positive they were going to put me on one of the inhibitors and was very worried about that as with having MS my other doctors told me all quality of life would be gone. Anyway the onc said the risks were way too high to consider the drug for me. Of course it will alway make me wonder if I should have tried it at least for a while?

The percotini recipe is over the top. Of course 3 days maybe for you for me you wouldn't see me for at least a week. Well, that may be one way to catch up on sleep and have painless weight loss. Just don't anyone step on me, OK? Actually I didn't do well trying percoset either just nauceous and terribly dizzy. NM - you are very allergic! So none for you.

Frustration seems to be in the air lately.  I had more than my fair share of frustration at work yesterday.  It seems that site coordinators either can't read instructions or don't think the instructions apply to them, then wonder why something doesn't work!  Aaarrgghhh. . . . Every once in a while I just want to say

    FU2 Recipe

    1/2 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
    1 oz Vodka
    1/2 oz Goldschlager
    1/2 oz Jagermeister
    1/2 oz Rumple Minze

Lots of yummy drinks for the big par-tay tonight!    Lots of things to celebrate tonight--TGIF, birthdays, reconstructions (bodies and houses!!), Dee's back (yaaaaay--WELCOME BACK, Dee!!!!)   Wonder where our girl, Kathy, is--still in OZ or winging her way home?

I've chilled on the new car tizzy--it is parked in our garage and is a done deal.   Everything will work out....everything will work out...everything will work out.......HD, would love to tell you what kind but alll I know is it's a Honda CRV EXL.   Much smaller than our van, but I love the extra space in the garage.   Have a clear path to my beer fridge--no more inching around the nose of the van to get to it!   I've still got my heated seat and the dual temp controls, and those were important to me.   Hubby is heading out of town for the weekend--going to ask him to take Pancho with him--it would be glorious to have a couple of stress free days!

    ALL--have a super TGIF.....be back later for the par-tay!!!!!!!!!!!!

    bottoms up and dog beers!!!!

    Happy birthday, Connie!

It is so cold here! Had to talk DD out of wearing shorts to school... probably would have gotten a dress code violation but we don't go there so thank goodness for winter weather.

The wiener-dog is enjoying his new custom designed handknit sweater. The corgi is feeling young again. Think I'll grab her leash and head for the pool for Connie's partay!

I'm going to need to bring our grandaughter to the pool party too...we are babysitting for 10 days.

Honest to god though...this dog can get beers out of a fridge or a cooler.  My son taught her well!

    A Real Man

A real man is a woman's best friend. He will
never stand her up and never let her down.
He will reassure her when she feels insecure
and comfort her after a bad day.

He will inspire her to do things she never
thought she could do; to live without fear
and forget regret. He will enable her to
express her deepest emotions and give in to
her most intimate desires. He will make sure
she always feels as though she's the most
beautiful woman in the room and will enable
her to be the most confident, sexy,
    seductive, and invincible.

No wait... sorry... I'm thinking of wine. It's wine that does all that...
    never mind.

Happy birthday Connie!!!! Love the pooch pictures! Love the wine story instead of the man! Found another dead chipmunk so very happy to party at the pool!

Why can't the cat just kill them first instead of letting the hang out, do damage and then die in horrid places! This time in a throw blanket! Luckily we smelled him first otherwise that would have been really dreadful...... Happy Happy Weekend and I'm off to Charleston!!!!!! Can't believe it an actualy and real vacation!!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAYS !!!    Yaaaaaay--par-tay time.

Glad so many fur babies are at the pet park  (love the shades, HD!!)--ended up "stuck" with the dog for the weekend--DH said HE'D feel better leaving dog home so I wouldn't be scared at night!!  BS!  The dog is driving me nuts with barking and running from front window to back window--too late for walkers, so must have some critters in the yard--could be anything from a squirrel to a bobcat; have had lots of coyotes last few weeks....I'm not about to step outside to take a look!    So, dropping Pancho off at the pet park and heading for the pool!

Jocks has promised plenty of White Russians and some FU drinks!   (and, wine, wine, wine!!!!)  Skate has a grand buffet set up and I am going to have one of everything!   The pool area is getting rowdy--who started the fire in the fire pit?   Maybe our firefighters will pop in to check on it!   OMG!   That fat bouncer is back doing canonballs in the pool (will need someone else to re-post that pic!)    Many more to the birthday girls!!!

    HUGS to ALL!!!

I'm BAAAAACCCCCCK! Tired....could not sleep on the Qantas 13 hr flt to LAX (took a DL bump and then had horrid middle seats in different rows)...but had some Sparkling Moscato Rose on that flt, then some screwdrivers in the DL LAX club room...nice since we had a 4 1/2 layover, but was early morning...yikes! Had to run to a diff terminal in Detroit to catch that flight just in time. So I feel like "death warmed over" right now...but very upset that they lost ALL THREE of our checked bags!!! SHEESH! We claimed them in LAX, through customs, gave them to DL as they were checked all the way through. Hope getting that bump and then starting the trip on Qantas didn't cause our bags to disappear...but they cannot find them in the system. So I am trying to unwind with some White Zinfandel. SO MANY PAGES to catch up on, since I was not on the internet for a few days...glad to see Dee back, and thanks for all the extra birthday wishes. And hope Connie had a great birthday today!!! Will catch up as soon as I can, but wanted to let you know I am back at home now. (LOVE all those cute dog pics! Junie, can any of the dogs ride in your brand new car? Hope you like it....sounds like the one we got!)

WooHoo....Luggage got delivered today...YAY...we still didn't know they were found until received a call saying they were delivering them and were 5 min from our house!! And everything was intact.... especially thankful the asti moscato from Italy arrived okay, that I had to go into several "bottle shops" to find.

    Cheers!

Welcome Home, Wahine!!   Glad the missing luggage arrived--that is such a hassle!!!   I've only had one bag lost forever--airline assumed it was stolen from the carousel.  LOL to whoever took it--was mostly full of dirty laundry!!!   Have had too many other times of bags arriving several days later.   Now, I always take a picture of the bags we are flying with; measure them and write that on the picture.   When you are trying to describe lost luggage to an airport claim person, it just isn't enough to say the bag is "red"--must be 10 different shades of red, or what size is the suitcase!!!  The pics go with our travel documents/passports.....and, inside the suitcase, I include a copy of our itinerary and where we're staying.    One time on a trip to Playa del Carmen, my bag was checked to Cozumel--error by airline, but the documents inside the luggage helped get it to me more quickly.

Come out and join me at the pool.   Pants is on standby for a relaxing massage for you, and I want to hear all about Oz!!!!!

Yeah for the massage junie! I will DEFINATELY join you for that...sure can use it, and Pants really knows how to use his hands in all the right places...LOL. Thank God we have never had a bag (knock on wood) lost forever, although have had bags lost in Portugal, and also in Spain...of course at the BEGINNING of our trips (once B4 a cruise)...and sometimes when we get home have not had our bags for a day or two. GREAT IDEA to include itinerary and take pics of luggage....so far we have had to describe in detail when in another country, but if lost when we return home, they only want a basic color...did not even want me to give the sizes....strange! Still in zombie mode....have only unpacked so far....not thinking clearly with lack of sleep (at least this time I have an excuse!). Need to read all the pages I missed....can we have an early (or all day) happy hour????

Happy B-day to the birthday gals!

Welcome home and cheers for being reunited with your luggage, Wahine!

Thanks everyone! And Chrissy, YES I did enjoy your country!!! Disappointed that we could not find a good pavlova, so we put one together ourselves w/bakery pavlova shell, whip cream, kiwi, strawberries, and passion fruit. YUMMMMM.....that is one of my favorite desserts and have only found it in OZ. Since I can't make the shell I brought home some cans of passion fruit pulp and will use regular meringue "cookies" (or biscuits, lol) and see if it will taste similar. LOVE that! (My relatives made sure I called cookies "biscuits"....and could not explain to them what a biscuit is here!). And we really did love Brisbane...might go there next trip and have the relatives come up there too so can avoid Sydney. Sydney is tooo crowded and tooo expensive for me!

Still have not gotten to read back on all the posts.....but maybe will sleep tonight! Nite nite all.....
